Healing Hope

Rate this book
Hope Larsen is living each day of her life with a crippling guilt. The game of ‘what if’ has made it almost impossible to move forward from such a horrific event. In one life-changing moment, someone who meant so very much to her was taken. A man who once was her best friend. A man she fell in love with. She wanted to love him freely even though he was gone and not feel so immobilized by his absence. Relive the memories of times they shared without feeling broken and lost. Then he shows up. He waltzes right into her life as if he belongs, strong confident and determined to make her see him. When Travis Donovan crosses paths with the snarky blonde, he’s intrigued. Her dismissal of him and his antics doesn’t have the effect she’d hoped for. In fact, it’s just the opposite. He’s not one to run scared from a challenge, but instead, he's the type to fight even harder to conquer it. Though she tries to fight her attraction for the cocky electrician, she finds that his dedication fascinates her.  Hope comes to the realization that there’s one thing that scares her the most. This man reminds her of the one she lost. That stride, that smile, even the way he torments her…it’s all the same. He could be the one to show her that it's okay to move forward. It’s okay to love again. Travis Donovan just might be the one to heal Hope.

Oh. My. God. Just when I think I already love C.A. Harms’ books more than is healthy she goes and writes one that blows everything else out of the water. Healing Hope was beyond wonderful! I devoured it. I started reading this and I didn’t stop until I finished every single page. A beautiful story of healing filled with love and sweetness, I loved every second of this book! After losing her best friend Hope has isolated herself from nearly everyone. Going through the motions of life stuck in one place, and riddled with guilt she hasn’t felt whole since the day she lost him. When Travis shows up to repair an electrical line at her house sparks fly and start to reignite the fire she thought was gone for good.

My heart hurt for Hope so much in the beginning. Her pain was palpable. All she had gone through and lost, it was heart wrenching. Even when she was at her snarky worst you really couldn’t help but love her. The fast flying witty banter between her and Travis is absolutely hilarious at times. Travis was fantastic! He was sweet, funny, and sexy. He was a man with a huge heart that loved everyone dear to him fiercely. There was no half way with him, he loved big. The way he loved Hope was absolutely beautiful.

I loved seeing how much Travis helped to heal Hope from the wounds of her past. Travis and Hope together were honestly stunning. Their love was so sweet and it kept me cheering for them to get their HEA.

How can I put into words what this book made me feel? This is the hard part of a writing a review: how do I accurately express my feelings for a book when I still have a book hangover from it?

Hope was such a strong woman, both emotionally and mentally. I was constantly putting myself in her shoes and asking myself: how would I have handled that? And I have to be honest and say I don't think I would have been as strong as Hope.

Travis, oh, he has earned the spot in the book boyfriend category. These together was perfection!

I highly recommend Healing Hope; I plan on reading more from the author.

This just might be my favorite CA Harms book! Well, until her next one, I'm sure, because she always amazes me with her writing.

Hope & Travis had a story that I couldn't help but instantly LOVE. The moment they met, I knew Travis was PERFECT for Hope.

She had been lost for some time now due to the loss of her husband and was really just existing. She wasn't living. She did what she needed to do to get through her days, but any kind of excitement took a back seat to survivor's guilt. Until Travis.

Travis lit a spark in Hope, one not even Hope herself could deny. And boy, was I ready for her to give him a chance! Once Travis found out who Hope was, it melted my heart to see how he instantly understood her actions. He changed his approach, but he sure as hell did not give up...and I am glad he didn't because he was just what she needed. She needed to be challenged, she needed a reason for her heart to beat again. And Travis was just that—her second chance.

Another fantastic read from C.A. Harms and one I highly recommend!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, guilt, and heartbreak.

This is Hope and Travis’s story. Hope lost her best friend and has been shattered ever since. She feels a lot of guilt for losing him and how it happened. When Travis comes to her house to work on her electric. He reminds her of her best friend she lost. He banters with her and make her start to feel. Travis knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it. They get closer and he knows he wants forever. But when someone from his work interferes she wonders if starting to feel was even ever worth it. Can he prove that he only wants her and is looking for forever? Will Hope fully to open herself to love or is Travis falling by himself?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This book.... wow.... the chemistry between Travis and Hope from the beginning is so powerful. Hope, still coming off the loss of the man she loved, kept herself isolated and the guilt she had kept her guarded. Travis took his time to break down her guard eventually and just showered her with his love. Of course there is always going to be some bumps along the road, but Travis is a very determined man and is going after what he wants. With a mixture of literally laughing out loud at time (oh get ready for the banter) to bawling like a baby, this book has it all. Another successful read from Harms.

It was so intriguing at first. I liked their initial meetings. The hero trying to pursue the unavailable, snarky, drowning in sadness heroine. I loved their funny banters. But the second a stupid ow comes in this sweet love story I lost interest. I usually don't like books which has ows in it. Very rarely these stories appeal me. And then they doing evil & villainous things to break a couple are so not my cup of tea. Maybe this book will be liked by many but definitely not me.
A big "Lost Interest"...

Healing Hope by C.A. Harms is a full-length, standalone romance novel that will take your emotions on a roller coaster of a ride so make sure to have plenty of tissues handy!! This is Hope and Travis story. Hope Larsen is recovering from losing her best friend, pretty much living a half a life. She barely exists and she lives each day being eaten alive by guilt. She just can’t let go of the pain and of the guilt she feels. That is, until Travis Donovan shows up early one morning to try and repair her wires. He is this huge force that comes into her life at the right moment and is what she needs to finally climb out of that hole of despair she is in. Travis doesn’t know much about Hope but he finds her spitfire attitude immediately draws him in and makes him want to know more about her.

These two characters have an instant connection with each other; it’s a sizzling chemistry between one another. The book sucks you in and the love story is one that has you rooting for Hope and Travis all the way thru. I really felt this book tugging on my heartstrings and it also had my pulse racing. Travis is one hot book boyfriend for he really saw Hope’s potential, that she still had a life to live and he wanted to be the one she woke up to and that is what he did was show her that living still needed to be done. Hope really was sassy and heartbreaking at the same time. She had gone thru so much yet she kept on ….CA Harms has another hit with this powerful and sweet love after tragedy love story.

** Spoiler free review** WARNING: Book Hangover worthy
Blown away, best way to describe this book. Every time CA Harms writes a new book, I cannot wait to jump in.
In this book we meet Hope Larson, I really like Hope. She's a bit broken because she feels fate stole something very important to her, sarcastic and Feisty!!!!
Travis Donovan Tall, sexy as sin and cocky as all get out. When they meet Hope is all kinds of feisty she doesn't like Travis AT ALL. He loves how he gets her all fired up
Another book by CA Harms that I would gladly recommend. She's done her usual amazing job. PLUS I now have a book hangover

I LOVED this storyline so much. What I loved about Travis was that he was so sexy with his great personality and how much he loved his family. Then he meets Hope and the chemistry between these two is beyond hot. I loved it all. Hope is a great heroine and I really loved her feisty attitude and how she was with Travis even though she was still grieving a loss. Another great book by CA!

Sweet and tender love story. h who lost her best friend who she secretly loved and never acted upon meets funny sexy electrician. Good story. Ow tries to cause trouble, she does succeed in hurting the h and causing a weeks separation.
H didn't encourage the skank but needed to be more pro-active in discouraging her but after the separation he steps up.
No cheating. Recommended.

I finished this, but it was painful and took much longer than it should have, because I had to take breaks and read something else as a palette cleanser. This book is inexplicably 4+stars, which is why I picked it up. My deviation from the majority opinion is why I'm writing the review.

The writing is unsophisticated, often attempting to use vocabulary that would elevate the story if used correctly, but since it was often nonsensical, instead revealed the author's strange grasp of how these adjectives and adverbs should be used. There were also many, many run-on sentences -- full on, two or three complete sentences jammed together in one. Unfortunately, the author also uses my least favorite style of first-person, present tense. This style can work with a very seasoned or sophisticated writer, but that is not the case here.

Despite the poor writing, I thought the premise was solid and some of the romance sections were steamy, so two stars for those positives. The story is written as NA genre, so the characters are a little angsty -- but they have solid reasons for the drama, so that was all good. My only objection here is the book reads like a middle-school creative writing assignment.

*I read an ARC and this is my honest review*

C.A Harms took us on a journey of lost, drowning in darkness, and finding love when you least expect to. Hope has been drowning in darkness since she lost someone important to her in a tragic way. She hasn't quite moved on from the night so when she meets Travis in the most unflattering way she has no hope of fighting the attraction. Travis is all wanted to build his business and wanting Hope. All he sees is her when he finally gets her in ways he has wanted from the beginning. When they are on the scene together is hot and intense. I love that they can make you laugh and burn with lust at the same time. Travis is finally giving Hope something to fight for but her demons of the past make an apperance and its up to him to help her through the darkness. There is someone in the background working against them but they both have to fight for their chance at happiness if they have any hope. This book flows perfectly right till the end and the characters will have you laughing and crying. Its a great story of fighting you way to heal and hope for something better.

5 Fantastic Stars

C.A Harms's books are #Oneclick worthy. Everyone of her books that I have read I loved. Healing Hope is no different. I immediately fell in love with Travis and Hope. The tragedy in Hope's past is heart breaking. I could feel her pain through the pages. C.A.'s writing is emotional, fluid and just downright awesome.

As I said before, I loved Travis and Hope. Travis is such a good guy. He genuinely cares about people and it shows with his family and his company. He is persistent, dedicated and determined. He doesn't let Hope's fiery attitude get in his way. He blast right through it.

Hope is struggling at the start. I almost wondered if she could ever recover from her loss and pain. It took Travis and his teasing to make Hope want to live again. He made her want to get back to the fun loving girl she once was.

So good...

I don't write many reviews, so when I do it's because I found something special. I'm an 'alpha man' girl, so guys like Travis, despite his own moments of alphaness, aren't my first choice. But this story of love lost, love found, love forever, made me laugh, made me cry but, most of all, made me smile. These characters are real people...complete with flaws and quirks, humor and tears, and beneath it all, that happy ever after that we look for every day. Well done.

Healing Hope

C.A. Harms has written a sweet book of love and peace in Healing Hope. These characters bring such joy to each other that it is infectious. Hope stopped living after her best friend was killed she was just existing. Travis took one look and knew his life was changed forever. The story of how they got to their HEA and the work it took is inside this amazingly simple book. It's the small things that matter and Harms understands how to make a complicated new relationship simple. You will love this book and this author.

I don’t know where to start. This story completely ripped my heart out within the first couple of pages. The overwhelming pain Hope suffered through after losing her best friend had me shedding tears. She had completely given up on life until one day an electrician with Caribbean blue eyes came to work on her house. This book was just so damn beautiful. The chemistry was so powerful between the two and the banter had me clutching my side. This will be my first book of many from C.A Harms Xoxo DOE

What is it like to lose someone you leave in a violent way? Is it possible to learn to love again? To not question the what ifs and the guilt and trust in the universe that the course of destiny might have another plan for you? I'm not sure if I could.

This book showed us that anything is possible and that love always finds a way. Travis and Hope we're the perfect match made in heaven.

Beautiful book.

Healing

Hope has been through something that shattered her life. She withdrew from her friends, family, and life in general. How will she respond to the man who pushes all her buttons?

Travis is a great guy. He puts his family and employees first and thinks about himself last. What will happen when he crosses paths with a fiery blonde that he can't get off his mind?

I enjoyed this book, the relationship between Travis and Hope was genuine and full of heart.
