Decrescendo

Rate this book
A sumptuous, lyrical novel, Gerry Brennan wanders down avenues of politics and philosophy, love and death, art and culture, reading the graffitti along the way, seeking out dead ends in order to scale walls and emerge in courtyards. The novel of ideas lives on in Decresendo, in language as musical as any sonnet.

This is a beautiful novel!
In it, a subtle rare sensibility and an enchanting poetic flux are dismounted or complemented by an intelligent humorous sarcasm.
From an amazing god’s soliloquy to a novel within the novel, from the theatrical clever interactions between major historical characters to a coherent narrative, this is the book I most enjoyed reading in many years!

This novel is beautifully written... Tender, humorous, relentless and really thought provoking! It tackles so many different themes and issues, from politics to arts, motherhood, childhood, history, relationships, love, psychology, religion, etc... It really is endless in the best of ways!
I absolutely loved it, a gorgeous piece of literary fiction that I'd recommend to anybody and for sure will read again...
