Faith teams up with the Timewalker to stop a walking cable modem (at least that's what it looks like to me) whose trying to destroy all of human history. It follows some of the format of Timewalker where they take multiple stabs at getting something correct by looping through time. Since it is Faith dealing with time travel expect lots of Doctor Who jokes.

Faith takes part in a mega-crossover time-travel event to stop the robotic love child of Ultron-1, Amazo and a Dalek from exterminating humanity. Faith makes everything better just by being in it, even if I cannot recognize one in five of the other Valiant heroes with whom she is interacting. But one of those unknowns, Neela Sethi, actually seems capable of rising to Faith's level. Based on the strength of her appearance here, I'm currently reading Sethi's initial outing in Ivar, Timewalker: Deluxe Edition, Book 1 right now.
Anyhow, this was a fun story with lots of great Faith moments, repeated several times thanks to, you know, time travel. And I loved the ending, which ditches most of the crossover garbage and becomes a fairly straightforward Faith story. Nice.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review
This was just a lot of fun! I think I would have enjoyed it slightly more if I had read the previous volumes in this series [it's on my tbr but when I saw this on NG/EW I figured I should try it out] because there are a lot of cameos and it's probably better if you know who they are. But even coming into it completely blind I really enjoyed it. I think the time travel plot was fairly well done [and that's high praise coming from me, time travel paradoxes are one of my personal pet peeves] and how they solved it was really interesting. Other than that it's just really great to see a fat superheroine who is just allowed to be herself and where her weight isn't a constant issue. I'll definitely be checking out the earlier volumes in this series now.
Also I'm always here for calling out people who put boobs on lizard aliens ;)

Meh to the extreme.
Very inconsistent art, a story that felt like an improv skit… it just wasn’t for me. I will say that some of the dialogue was kind of funny… but not funny enough to save this 4 issue mini.

I got a copy of this volume from Netgalley and was absolutely delighted. I love Faith and have been itching to read more of her adventures for a while now.
At the start of the book, Faith is in disguise as journalist Summer Smith when she is recruited by timewalker Neela Sethi and her partner Ank to save the world. A robot of some kind has managed to warp events in history so that significant moments have been changed, leading to the eventual destruction of humankind.
The events in each issue give the characters, and readers, more information about the villains and how they can be stopped.
I'm not sure where this book falls in the Faith continuity but it doesn't really affect your reading of the story; you kind of get swept along with it. You also don't really need to know everything about every character - they have a job to do and they do it. We don't need their colourful backstories to see them in action.
The art is gorgeous and heavily detailed, no matter which era the characters find themselves in or how many characters populate the page. The colours are so vivid and each character is given a distinct personality through the art. It puts Marvel and DC to shame when you see comics like these where all the women are drawn differently.
[SPOILER ALERT] I would have liked Faith to have been able to get more into the action in the last issue. She, Neela and Ank are bystanders in the end, which was really disappointing. A comic book with so many female characters and a dude has to save the day? There must have been some other way for the story to have gone and I felt it did a disservice to the characters by including someone who had only been mentioned in passing up until then. [END SPOILER]
I enjoyed reading this and loved being able to see Faith again. She's so peppy and optimistic, and I adore all the geek references she keeps making, no matter how much Neela wishes she wouldn't. This book is enjoyable but has its flaws, chief among them not giving the main characters the chance to complete the story to their satisfaction.

Time Travel stories. Some hate them. Some love them, like me! I'm a real sucker for time drama so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. The Valiant universe's favorite superhero, Faith, is also a big time travel fan and I was excited to see what would happen when she's thrust into her own temporal adventure. It also marks the return of Neela Sethi, one of the stars of Ivar, Timewalker. Neela is now a Timewalker herself (along with Ank), and comes to the present day to recruit Faith, who is apparently the key to save the universe and all of time itself!
It's a speedy, light, entertaining miniseries and it was fun to see Faith use all of her Doctor Who and Back to the Future knowledge to navigate time travel. It was also great to see how it ultimately tied in to Faith's solo series pretty well. The miniseries premise promises action from all of the major Valiant players but I'm here to warn you that it's all just a cheap-ass marketing ploy, most of the people on the cover barely (sometimes never) even make an appearance. So don't go in expecting that. But if you're looking for a fun little Faith and Neela, Timewalker team-up, where they battle a super-powered, time-eating toaster, here's your book.

Great new volume for all Faith fans.
This time Faith teams up with a timewalker in order to save the planet from a robot who is intent on destroying the earth. It is a good story which sees a number of Valiant characters coming to the rescue. If you are a Faith fan then you will enjoy this.

What do you, a time walker, do when you encounter an evil robot destroying the fabric of reality? You enlist the help of a superhero. What if the superhero gets killed? You send a message through spacetime to yourself that one superhero isn’t enough, that you need more help.

I love Faith, and was really looking forward to this special storyline. For most of it, I found myself a bit underwhelmed. I think it was because the plot was a bit repetitive - Faith gets recruited to save the world, and fails, so the next go round, she in turn recruits more heroes to help. I understand that this was necessary to get to the final payoff (which was really ingenious!), but I found myself skimming the replay bits.

Faith Herbert is a superhero (Zephyr) in hiding. She has been accused of a murder she did not commit in another series (she's a member of some sort of Justice League/Avengers type of group). She no longer acts as a superhero and her secret identity now has a secret identity. She is working in an office and trying not to get noticed.
Now, a note about this graphic novel. Before this book, I had never heard of Faith Herbert or this series. But, I was attracted to the front cover because of Faith. Faith is a woman of generous proportions - something I have never seen in any comic book. In fact, I can't think of a single superhero comic that features an overweight superhero without it being a joke (Mr. Incredible's gut doesn't slow him down, but it has been a sight gag from the very first trailer of the first movie). This got my attention because I am a man of generous proportions.
Secondly, when I opened up the book and thumbed through it I found multiple Doctor Who references. On the third page, a superhero in a typical full curve-hugging superhero outfit appears in Faith's office and says, "Come with me if you want to save history."
Faith answers, "I've been preparing my whole life for this moment."
The hero responds, "Oh God, you're a Doctor Who fan aren't you? Of course."
Well, that was it - I was sold. Guess what? It turns out that Faith is not only a Doctor Who fan - she is also a Star Trek fan. What's not to love?
Back to the story...

The art is top notch in this book. It was quite fun.

This mini-series, collected into a single volume, was weird and twisted in ways that work in the Faith series.
I had missed this book when it came out, and stumbled across it at a local store. Since I like Faith, and recognized about half of the other characters from other Valiant stories that I'd read, I figured this would be an intriguing look at another side of Faith's development as a superhero.
Well, yes and no.
Time travel stories with multiple causality loops normally make my brain hurt. This one, with the running references to real-world time travel TV and movie characters, worked surprisingly well, and the actual resolution to the loops was nothing like what I expected at the start of the story only...what if these actions CAUSED a supervillain to come into being.
The only time travel trope not used was changing the order of the interactions so that the more experienced good guys could face a less experienced bad guy, but that might have caused the universe to implode or something...Oh, wait, though...the bad guy kind of did that on its own, and by preventing its own actions caused the resolution to vanish in a puff of logic. Hmmm, let me think about how that works. If it didn't prevent the actions, then it still exists to prevent the actions, but if it prevents the actions, then it doesn't exist to prevent them, only...Okay, I'm all better now, and only the bad guy is stuck in an infinite loop of paradox.
The design of the evil robot was priceless, and the payoff of the repeated "I've been preparing my whole life for this moment" was a real treat. Since I didn't follow some of the Valiant titles, there were a few references that I didn't understand, but that didn't ruin the story.

The art is pretty bad for most of the volume, and probably the first 3/4s of it are forgettable, with constant knocks on "Doctor Who" that are pretty much the only memorable portion of it. But the conclusion is rather good, so it gets three stars. The "Doctor Who" animus is never explained, which, okay? I'm not annoyed at the "Doctor Who" animus itself. I just think it was supposed to be funnier than its frequent repetition made it.
If I hadn't read as many comics as I have, I'd be confused about how a four-issue graphic novel with six pencilers and three editors could have art this bad, but well... Comics? Clean your house, Valiant. It's not as bad as it could be by far, but it's messy. And for pete's sake, if you're writing a series starring a plus-size female superhero, hire artists who can draw that! Cause you certainly didn't here, and you haven't for most of this series. I just read "Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong" and coming off of Faith Erin Hicks' gorgeous artwork just makes dealing with the usual slapdash hackery in this industry even more embarrassing than normal.
The book's cover art by Kano is pretty good, and there are a few good variant covers, and 3/4s of all that are from well-known good artists so I don't know which trash can Valiant dunked its head in for the actual comic art or why. Marguerite Sauvage has a nice one for #1. Monika Palosz has a good wraparound for #2. Paulina Ganucheau has a pretty #2 variant, and Jen Bartel and Triona Farrell have a good showing for #4. That's about it for decent art, though.
All in all, issue #4 is worth slogging through this. Mostly. Ish.

The entire timeline is at risk, and only Faith can save it! When Neela Sethi, Timewalker, recruits Faith to prevent complete armageddon, she finds herself trapped in a time loop of infinite proportions in which they always, always lose. And when heroes fail, can villains triumph?
Future Force is a weird little mini - the same few pages repeat at least four times, and yet the story always seems to progress as the good guys work out what's going on, ever so slowly. This is as much a story about Neela as it is about Faith, and her journey is a natural progression from the end of Ivar, Timewalker to here.
But of course, Faith's name is on the front, and it's Faith that saves the day in the end in a way which ties nicely into her solo adventures while peppering an insane amount of Doctor Who references that have Neela pulling out her hair in typical Faith fashion, and it's lovely. It all culminates in a conclusion that only Faith could orchestrate, and shows just how well Jody Houser gets the character.
The art is an interesting experiment, with each artist taking a different iteration of the time loop, which leads to some artists drawing two or three pages of one issue and then twenty or so of the following one. Stephen Segovia, Barry Kitson, and Diego Bernard are all stellar choices, while Cary Nord brings up the rear with a much looser, less enjoyable style, which is a damn shame unfortunately.
Faith & The Future Force is deceptively simple and at the same time much deeper than you might expect. While we wait for Faith to take centre stage again, this is a good little mini to fill the time.

'Faith and Future Force' by Jody Houser with art by Stephen Segovia, Barry Kitson, and Diego Bernard is a team up book with Faith and a lot of the Valiant universe. It's not bad, but it's not very memorable either.
Faith is minding her own business at her day job trying to stay incognito when she is approached by a timewalker. This immediately is an opportunity for Doctor Who jokes and other nerdy time travel humor.
There is something threatening the Earth and the timewalkers are sure Faith can stop it. That is until she can't. And things get larger and larger after that in an attempt to control the threat until it's finally brought down by a pretty unlikely character.
I don't really get the hype of this character. I can understand the appeal of this type of character, but the character lacks something that makes me think leading character. Her interactions are fun and light, but with her kind of power, the book lacks a certain importance. The art is very good in this title, and the time jumping was fun, and then it was over.

I don't really get the hype of this character. I can understand the appeal of this type of character, but the character lacks something that makes me think leading character. Her interactions are fun and light, but with her kind of power, the book lacks a certain importance. The art is very good in this title, and the time jumping was fun, and then it was over.

A disappointing comic from Diamond Book Publishers. The story seems inconsistent, the artwork seems more like something from Casper the Friendly Ghost. The comic was disappointing to this sexagenarian.
A group of superheroes “adopts” Faith to fight super evil beings. They work together to fight an enemy across time and space that looks more like a three-prong power outlet than like any kind of super-villain. The story did not hold my attention – Twice I put it down and took up more traditional books before again being disappointed in the story.
The comic consists of a four-part story that was originally published six months earlier – but coming six months later, did not improve the story. I normally enjoy comics; I did not enjoy this one.

Faith and the Future Force takes the traditional superhero teamup comic, a trope I have been reading for years, and adds a few elements that make this a unique read. First, there is the camaraderie and mingling of the group themselves, which works as part of the narrative. There is also a science fiction element, which I find striking in many Valiant titles, that adds another dimension to this book.
Sometimes when this sci-fi element gets added to traditional comic book teams, it seems to introduce something strange to the story. However, in this case, the sci-fi feel comes across as an integral part of the world created in the book.
It should be noted that this is a very polished and professionally-designed text, as well. I would gladly add it to my own collection.

Three stars - this is yet another in the ongoing line of Valiant titles where you need to know an inordinate amount about other ongoing Valiant titles to get the most out of it - the whole Valiant universe still struggles to let us newbies in. Also, the artwork really doesn't do justice to what was a great chance to have a "person of size" as heroine - yes, on the covers and so on she can look fit as, but in the regular pages she turns ugly all of a sudden. The story is a frivolous look at time travel, saving the universe, and comic book motivation, but while it's no stinker, it's not a great read, either.

I received an electronic ARC of this book from Netgalley in return for an honest review. This book is a lot fun. The light tone of the story balances the reality-ending nature of the threat. Neela Sethi, the Time Walker recruits Faith to save reality. It doesn't work out so well. That's where time walking comes in handy. Neela recruits Faith several times. Faith recruits more and more of the Valiant universe heroes. If I have it figured out, she eventually gets the ALL involved. The end was unexpected, but I found it satisfying. I liked all the nerdy references that Faith drops, and she is just so darn sweet, upbeat, and optimistic that I cannot help but like her.

A fun foray into the Valiant Universe with Faith at the lead. I've only dipped my toe into Valiant's world so didn't know many of the numerous heroes who make cameos in this story. I still found it fun, though, but think that regular readers will get an extra thrill from seeing the familiar faces and understanding the references. This is a groundhog day for Faith as she's called upon by a Timewalker to help save the universe and reality itself. Things keep going wrong, then starting over until Faith figures things out. Fun.

Interesting premise, and intriguing resolution. But all of the back-and-forth between time periods and realities got rather confusing and real old fast. All the extra super heroes that weren't needed tended to just blend into each other in the background, making it hard to even differentiate who they were. Although in the end it was Faith who saved the day anyway.

Faith is always like a breath of fresh air. Her unique character and the stories laced with humor always bring a smile. When time itself is in danger, Faith brings the Dr. Who references and saves the day. The color work is spectacular and the art is good for an enjoyable visual storytelling. 3.5 stars I loved Faith (volumes 1 so far for me) and so I jumped at the chance to review this for NetGalley. This has the same vibrant humor and introspection that I enjoy so much from the regular series, but it's a poor place to start for those who are new to the characters. Without getting too deep into it, fans will enjoy this more than newcomers who I think should start with Vol. 1.

an interesting concept, but not enough plot for so many issues. It could have easily been two or three instead of an entire volume. The last issue was my favourite by far. It continued the quirk that is Faith, but it was literally overly repetitive. I wish there was just more about all the other characters (dino woman!!!!!!!!!)

This is a fun time travel romp that showcases Faith’s ability to problem solve and with tons of valiant guest stars. a robot is eradicating and collecting powers from heroes trying to confront it as well as normal humans. The more powers they throw at it the more it grows in power. It will take a figure from Faith’s past to save the future.

Not the most interesting addition to thr story of Faith and like another reviewer on Goodreads said the villian was a cable modem which I agree with one hundred percent. The best part was seeing Chris Kriswell become the villian he was meant to be.

Well, the boyfriend had told me this volume was basically the most unnecessary thing ever (with a time travel storyline, yeah, I see his point) but... I did still enjoy it. I just love how normal Faith can be and I love every single time she fangirls out. She's adorable.

Faith is really growing on me. She is a unique superhero, one whose strength lies in her brains, her geeky pastimes, and her relationships. This set was a "Groundhog Day"-esque structure around saving all of humanity. All women protagonists!

I have really enjoyed the FAITH stories, but this was my favorite. Time travel. LOTS of different heroes and a showdown with super villains - what could be better? Thanks to Jody Houser for a rousing tale.

This was fun! I enjoyed the jumps through history and how we repeatedly re-lived the same stretch of time, adjusting toward the correct solution. This volume diverted neatly around the open ending of Superstar, but I'm hoping there'll be proper resolution in Dreamside.
