Bodyguards and Babies #3

Manny's Surprise Baby

Rate this book
Non-Shifter Mpreg Romance. Enemies to lovers.

Pierce MacPherson is a solar eclipse omega with a chip on his shoulder. He was in a horrible relationship where his alpha sold him to other alphas for their pleasure, and now that he's free, he definitely has a thing against alphas.

Seth Rider works for Shield and he's an alpha with no desire to settle down with one woman. But when he discovers that a one night stand eight years ago produced a daughter he'd never heard of, he steps up to the challenge.

The problem is, Seth doesn't know the first thing about raising a kid. Pierce has some experience working with kids and when they meet, Pierce is guilted in to helping out for a week. It's only supposed to be one week. But when Seth starts having unusual sexual feelings toward Pierce, things get a little complicated. And when the two men give into their urges, and Pierce gets pregnant, things get even more muddled.

This is a heartwarming, but steamy, 62,000 word story featuring a non-shifter Alpha/Omega world and contains mpreg (male pregnancy). This is a standalone fated-mate, gay for you story and Book Three in the: Bodyguards and Babies mpreg series.

This was a cute book. I liked both the main characters- Pierce and Seth. Seth was the most endearing alpha and it was lovely to read about the way he broke down the walls around Pierce’s heart and how they both fell for each other.

I wasn’t really able to warm up to Emily, though. I wish she had had a bit more of an active role after she warmed up to Seth.

I would love to see Brad have his own story.

Not sure what to think... I guess I liked it? I like Alpha/omega stories, so I was happy to read this. However I don't think I agree with how Emily was portrayed; with her being eight-years old I was just surprised that she would say things about having sex and smoking pot to Seth and Pierce even as a joke. That kinda weirded me out. And not to mention that Seth and Pierce left her in the care of a practical stranger for a month! I think it would have been more believable to me if they'd left her with Colin and Riley.

I liked this story but it just missed the mark of me loving it. The story moved too fast and I'm left feeling like there was a lot missing and a few things left hanging. There were a couple of niggles, like Emily came across as a lot older than 8 but the one that really bothered me was...why did Pierce and Seth leave Emily with a total stranger for a month? That just seemed off.

Even with the niggles it was still an enjoyable read.

This was a very bumpy emotional ride
I have had this one sitting in my tbr pile. I now regret putting it on the back burner for so long.
A sweet, somewhat comical, loving -all around emotionally stirring read.
Strong characters and plot line - detailed interactions and scenes that were spot on making the story that much more poignant
M-Preg is a somewhat new genre for me - a bit touch and go with some of the work I have read
Wynne did an impressive job of building this story - strong foundation and plot line - the characters were so easy to connect and fall in love with
If you are new to this genre this would be a good starting book in my opinion
Be prepared though - a few scenes left me with tears and a couple others had me angry - quite the emotional rollercoaster of a read

This is a great series. Full of surprises, feels and bodygaurds and babies of course omegas.Always a HEA from this series. Which sounds predictable but is always a joy to see how we get there. Never the easy way but love always wins hrough. Sometimes the road is rocky, sometimes full of potholes and sometimes unseen forces try to get int he way. Just another ride on the roller coaster of life as an avid reader. Catch this ride and hold on unitl the end it's well worth the admission fee.

Pierce had all kinds of attitude in book 2, Rockstar Baby and both his damage and prickly vulnerability drew me in. He made me want to know him and watch as he softened and healed. Seth is really such a good partner for Pierce and watching their story unfold was a pleasure.

Seth is in quite a pickle with a surprise 8 years after a one-night stand. When the mother suddenly dies he's left with a daughter that he doesn't know anything about and has no clue how to raise. Running to Colin for help turns out to be not only his answer to childcare but to his heart's future too.

Pierce is looking for a bit of normalcy in a world he left behind. Unsure of himself but unwilling to hide away in the mountains any longer, he returns to LA and crashes with Colin and Riley until he can find a job and start living in the real world again. Their conversation is interrupted by a harried and seemingly arrogant alpha. But when a job is reluctantly offered he reluctantly accepts.

As Pierce gets to know Seth he finds himself unwillingly attracted to the first alpha since his life was torn apart. Something about Seth draws him in an he's scared of what that means. He can continue to hide or he can choose to accept. By hiding his heart away he can continue to find release with other omegas and never allow himself to be taken advantage of and hurt by another alpha again but he'll also never know true love and acceptance and a family of his own. And if he accepts something more with Seth he'll be opening himself up and making all his soft places known, he'll be at the mercy of an alpha who might be just as two-faced as so many others he's known.

Seth is straight. Or so he thinks. He's confused by the attraction he feels for Pierce and denying it is getting harder and harder. He's also confused by Pierce's attitude. With Pierce unwilling to share his past Seth is left wondering how he can get closer to the prickly omega. Once the truth comes out he becomes determined to keep just enough distance to let Pierce feel safe but not enough to let him run. When the moon's influence push them both into a situation they've fantasized about they find that the consequences might be more than Pierce can handle.

There's blundering and honesty and vulnerability and healing all throughout the story. Seth's feelings toward Pierce are sweet and grow slowly letting us believe his affection and change. Pierce's feelings are more erratic but we can see that Seth's steady presence is just what Pierce needs. Together they can create a safe home for Emily and I loved watching them get to this point. Having Colin and Riley there for support and advice is great too, they're perfect for Pierce and Seth.

The situation used to show Pierce what he could miss out on by not going all in with Seth is a bit awkward and I don't know that it was more beneficial than another device the author could have used. It was a bit jarring and distracting even though the ultimate outcome was effective for reminding Pierce what his reluctance and running could cost him. I'm also not a fan of Emily's age. By making her 8 I can see the vulnerability and fear that she would be feeling and our first meeting is appropriate. Soon after she warms up to Pierce, though, she's all of a sudden speaking and acting like she's 12. And when she warms up to Seth the conversations she has with him and Pierce both together and separately sound more like they could be coming from a 14 year old. Her character was a good addition but the way she was written was inconsistent and not really believable. Aside from those two points the story was enjoyable and well written.

Read and willingly reviewed this ARC from the author.

I am not going to lie. I was SUPER DUPER excited when I found out there was a third book in this series and when I found out WHO it was about I was happy dancing. When we met Pierce in book 2, I was about to beg for his story and his book. The author has made me so happy!! This book was amazing!

In book 2, we met stormy little Pierce. He was surly, not trusting, and pissing off any alpha that got near him. It didn't help one was trying to get with him when he had clearly said no. So when we meet him again in this book, he definitely hasn't changed. He gives Colin's alpha, Riley, a constant hard time, despite Riley trying to be his friend. But he just can't get over his past, and trusting alphas is not in his vocabulary. Having been virtually a slave under another alpha, being sold to other alphas for pleasure and forced drugs has left Pierce very broken. So when Pierce meets Seth for the first time, his opinion is actually very bad. Seth wasn't trying to be rude but Pierce took it that way and set their meeting off on the wrong foot. When Colin suggests Pierce become a nanny for Seth’s new 8 year old daughter, Pierce is very hesitant. But agrees to help for only a week. And boy what a week. Seth is learning he isn't as straight as he thought he was because he can't get Pierce out of his head. And Pierce has gotten a shock when he finds he's very attracted to an alpha. A full moon pushes their feelings to the brink, they have passionate sex, Seth claims Pierce, Pierce becomes pregnant and the world for both seems to feel like it's coming to an end.

I fell in love with Pierce when we met him in book 2. In spite of his snarky, pissy attitude, there is a vulnerability to him that just made him lovable. When an alpha tried to mess with him at the end of book 2, you could feel his fear and his pain and everything in me wanted to be his caregiver and protect him from any harm. Underneath all that bluster and tough guyness, he is so compassionate and loving. And a wonder with kids. He charmed Seth’s daughter within minutes and made her feel at home. In spite of all she has been through as well.  When you find out what all really happened in his past, it just brings up those protective instincts even more. He has a beautiful soul and spirit and just wants someday to actually be someone's omega and to have an alpha he can trust that doesn't hate him for his past. When Seth comes along, he does his best to push Seth away and keep him that way. His growing attraction to Seth is scaring the pants off of him and he just wants to run. And tries. But Seth has a way of getting under his skin. And I love Seth for it.

Seth is not your typical alpha. Yes he's cocky and definitely throws off that confident, superior air. But underneath he's soft. He was raised to communicate and express his feelings. Yes he's a guy so it doesn't come naturally, but he tries his best. He is trying so hard to understand Pierce and get to know him but Pierce has put up walls a tank can't get through. And he is so frustrated. He's also frustrated because his growing sexual feelings for Pierce. He's always been straight. But beautiful Pierce has gotten to him and all he wants to do is mate and claim him. The sexual tension between them is electrifying. I love how much Seth has opened himself for Pierce. He tries to keep getting to know him, he keeps pushing at those walls. Keeps persisting. And yeah for Pierce it's frustrating, but it shows how much Seth really cares. I kept rooting for Seth because he is what Pierce needs.

I hope you all read this book. Read the whole series. It's beautiful. But something about Pierce just drew me to him and this book is so special to me. Maybe it's being a mom and I feel for him and his past. Maybe it's just the feeling of wanting to protect him. I don't know. All I know is this book just made me so happy because Pierce deserved his story. He deserved his happiness. The way he written was just the absolute best and it is a book that I will be reading over and over. Thank you S.C. Wynne for giving Pierce such a wonderful story and a chance at love.

I got an ARC in return for an honest review.

I have heard of MPreg being a thing, but I had never read a full story of it. I avoided it mostly because as a trans man getting pregnant was a horrifying thought. I was afraid it would be too triggering, but this book sounded like it was worth the risk to try it.

The book has a very quick romance. The two males go from hating each other to constant sexual tension in a matter of pages. The romance heats up even quicker after that. They knew each other for three weeks before Seth pretty much proposes to Pierce. The speed of the romance was something I didn’t enjoy. I felt that it happened much to fast to allow for Pierce’s back story to really be believable. The back story was wonderfully awful and I wanted more. I wanted to see a broken Pierce. I wanted Seth to heal those wounds, instead I got a forced love that just turned into steamy sex. I’m not complaining about that part (LUBE WAS USED OMG).

The sex scenes were explicit enough to be fun, but they were also pretty well written. There was no bad language or awkward positions. It was clear that the author actually knew how to write M/M sex scenes. I am so very thankful for that.

The pregnancy was pretty weird. Not because a man was pregnant, but because of the werewolf aspect of it all. I was hoping there would be more discussions on that, instead I feel like there were so many unanswered questions. They may have been answered in other books in the series, but I am still left wondering.

Overall, the book was a fun book that was pretty light and had a great HEA ending.

** I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book **

This is the second book I’ve read by this author. The first book was the second book in this series (Rockstar Baby: An Mpreg Romance (Bodyguards and Babies Book 2))

Because this is only the second book in the series and both books read as an ARC, I haven't had the chance to read the first book in this series, while this book doesn't particularly have anything to do with character's in book 1, it DOES have encounters with the characters in book 2, so would highly recommend to read 2 before reading this one.

At times I felt like the book was dragged along by all those episodes with Pierce and with Seth and his daughter, I get that he has a job to fulfill but still, you have a daughter you didn't know about, the least you could do was to try and connect with her and put effort into it, instead of just getting a manny right away.

Seth is an Alpha and works as a bodyguard in SHIELD along side with Colin (character in book 2). Seth had just found out about his daughter and how she is about to live with him. He panics and goes to Colin's place for advice, where Pierce happens to be.
Pierce has trust issues with Alpha's as in A LOT OF TRUST ISSUES due to previous events in his life with alphas not treating him as they should.

Because of Pierce and his trust issues, there went a some time before anything happened between Seth and Pierce, but I think Seth's daughter helped them connect and taking a liking to one another.

I you choose to read this book, you are in for one sweet M-preg romance book between a alpha-scared omega and an need-to-protect-someone alpha with an HEA.

Third book in the series and I was so happy to see this was Pierce's story.

Pierce have a bad history when it comes to Apha's and he's not willing to change his ways until he actually is convinced that not every Alpha is an ass like the ones he had met in the past. How fate intervenes and put him in Seth's life it was just plain funny.

Seth just found out he's a father and that his little girl needs to come live with him. He's in shock and confused and doesn't know a thing about taking care of a child. Lucky for him, his friends Colin's friend is in town and accepted to be his manny for a week until he can find someone else. That week turns his life upside down.

I think this book was plain cute and adorable, not to mention funny. I have a huge hear t and love stories like this one, specially when you have children involved and they are just the most sweet things ever.

The writing by S.C. Wynne is very well done. The characters are compelling, have good background and you don't have to read the previous stories to understand this one. It doesn't hurt read them though because you get more inside in this family of sorts that's building with each new character.

This series has been a huge hit with me from the get go and I'm so happy that I was selected to review an ARC of this story. I would recommend any of the books in this series to my friends, specially if I know they like a good MM Romance.

I have to wonder if this author has spent any fine at all with an 8 yr old child, because the way the kid in this book was written .... wow.

So essentially this book is about one really bitter man - who of course has every reason to be - and one who is an all around good guy. There were parts I didn’t like, lots of them actually. However, what really killed the book for me, was the girl. She was 8 yrs old, yet the way she talks was MUCH more grown up. I mean at one point she “jokes” about having sex and smoking pot. REALLY ???? Then let’s not forget how the MCs are leaving her alone with a man they’ve never met for like 5 weeks. Totally ok of course. Super normal stuff.

If you’re asking your readers to suspend belief seeing as this is an mpreg non shifter book, at the very least, make as much as you can actually believable, you know, to balance things out.

These guys make me smile!

I've loved all the Bodyguards and Babies books. And this one is no different. Pierce and Seth had a pretty rocky start but it just made them that much more fun to read. I loved that Pierce wasn't willing to give an inch and that he frustrated Seth to no end. But you knew there was something there and it was only a matter of time before the sparks flew. I loved Seth on the porn set. His reaction was fantastic. And when they finally gave into their list for each other. Whew! That was hot!

I also liked how we got a little bit of drama and that it wasn't dragged out. It just brought home how much we care for these characters. The thought of something bad happening to them, hits you right in the gut. I'm sorry to see the series come to an end. I've really loved all of these guys.

LOVE this story. Awesome storyline of 2 men who could not get along but are slowly drawn to each other. Pierce hates and doesn't trust alphas because of his past. Seth is an alpha who just found out he has a daughter and needs someone to help take care of her. Pierce and Seth meet through a mutual friend and Pierce agrees to temporarily take care of Seth's daughter.
I love watching the relationship between Seth and Pierce build as Seth helps Pierce break down his walls and learn that not all alphas are bad. Beautiful love story and I really like how loving and attentive both Seth and Pierce are with Emily. I have to go back and read the first 2 books of this series!!

Good, but it left me wanting more

Like the other books in this series, I found that I liked it but, I'm not sure if I can explain exactly why, I didn't love it.

Pierce was an interesting supporting character in the earlier books, and I was happy to get to learn more about him in his own book. Seth was a truly good person and his sincere love for Emily really helped bring Pierce around to giving him a chance. Both men felt fully developed, as characters, growing individually and together throughout the story.

Yet despite all the good, I ended this story feeling that it was missing some je ne sais quoi to make it truly memorable.

*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one elses*

This was a sweet yet emotional read and I really enjoyed it.

Pierce hid behind his guarded walls and I couldn’t blame him either. He needed a special alpha to understand his pain/ sadness and the horrors of his past and Seth was perfect for him.

My heart broke for Pierce; he’s been through so much yet Seth and Emily remind him of what it’s like to be apart of a family again.

This is the third book in the Bodyguards and Babies series. Seth and Pierce didn't hit it off at first but soon sparks were flying.
Seth works as a bodyguard and just found out that he is the father of an eight year old daughter. Pierce is visiting friends when he finds himself helping Seth out as his nanny.
This is a sweet, heart warming read. I loved the characters and look forward to reading more in this series.
