Through an exploration of the character of God, the author invites us into a life-giving, joyous relationship with the Creator of the universe who pursues us. "Walking with God" activities in each chapter guide the reader in developing a greater personal relationship with God. Journey Into God offers a pathway to deeper, fuller, freer relationship with our loving Creator.
A conservative Anabaptist's version of Packer's Knowing God. Each chapter explores a certain attribute of God's character. God is present and loving but because of his character, he must also be holy and just. I think it was especially timely and helpful for Coblentz's audience (or the group of people who likely will end up being his audience), the conservative Anabaptists. As a church group, they have a robust church culture, but sometimes members mistakenly assume that conforming to the church culture is equal to knowing God.
This book was given to me from a first-grader, and even then, I had to take it in bite-sized chunks. :) Really enjoyed the rich word pictures and beautiful language Mr. Coblentz used in an attempt to stretch our brains around Who we are privileged to call our Father.
