“His body is perfect. He’s got this face that isn’t just heart-melting but actually kind of exotic…”
Lillian Warren’s life is just how she’s designed it. She has a high-paying job working with celebrities and the elite, teaching them how to better organize their lives. She’s on her own, the days quiet, but she likes it that way. Especially since she’s still figuring out how to live with her recent diagnosis of Crohn’s disease. Her cats keep her company, and she’s not the least bit lonely.
Fun-loving personal trainer, Cayden, thinks his neighbor is a killjoy. He’s only seen her a few times, and the woman looks like she needs a drink or three. He knows how to party and decides to invite her to over—if he can find her. What better way to impress her than take care of her overgrown yard? She proceeds to thank him by throwing up in his painstakingly-trimmed-to-perfection bushes.
Something about the fragile, mysterious woman captivates him.
Something about this rough-on-the-outside bear of a man attracts Lily, despite her heart warning her to tread carefully.

Fragile Series: Fragile Touch Fragile Kiss Fragile Love
Ok, first things first: this is a beautiful start to a series. The love story between Lillian and Cayden also works beautifully and I genuinely enjoyed the plot. Now for my one criticism. I’ve a husband and son who suffer from Crohn’s Disease and a daughter with Ulcerative Colitis, a very similar ailment (the main difference being that it concentrated in a particular section of the upper gastrointestinal tract and cannot reappear elsewhere). Crohn’s is indeed a potentially debilitating diseases which, at its worst can require part of all of a GI tract to be removed or can even cause death. Having said that, there are plenty of steps before that and recent years have seen amazing medical advances. Those advances are such that someone without severe symptoms (like my husband) can be treated medically (ie by pills) and those with worse symptoms (like my son) by roughly monthly infusions of biologics (like Remicade and Humera). When these work the patient can live a virtually “normal” life (though there will be dietary considerations and alcohol is a real “no-no”). It’s only for more severely impacted patients - who can’t use the biologics as they are rejected - who experience the sort of life described for Lillian (or worse - as these are the ones that may very well end up with the surgery noted above or even be at risk of death). Thus this novel isn’t quite right in describing the nature of Lillian’s condition in terms of symptoms, treatments and severity. That’s something of a “vent” I’m sure, as this is a work if fiction so it doesn’t need to be fully accurate medically, but it seems to me that if you “take on” Crohn’s then you might as well “go the extra mile” for accuracy. Despite this, for anyone without Crohn’s (or a close friend or family member with the disease) this issue won’t even be noticed. As such I’m not going to deduct for it and score this as a five-star work on the basis of the good points first discussed above. As such I definitely highly recommend it, though with the warning that those with an intimate awareness of what Crohn’s is like should not be looking for total accuracy.
I am leaving this review for an ARC of this book. Cliffhanger Ending!!!
Lillian battles daily with her sickness. Things couldn’t get any worse or so she thought. Her new neighbor likes to party. It disrupts her quiet stress free life. She finally decides to say something to him, but doesn’t want to be confrontational. She decides to leave a sticky note on his door asking him to keep the noisy parties down. That’s when her whole life changes.
Cayden is a trainer who likes to party and be loud. He also loves to maintain his yard/landscaping. He takes pride in it. When he figures out it was his neighbor who left the note he can’t believe it was Lillian. Their first real encounter was when she got sick in his prized bushes. He took care of her during her sickness. Their second encounter is after she gets drunk and stumbles on her back porches. Again he comes to her rescue. He finally gets her to come over to his place. Lillian finally lets her self have some fun. From there they come together. He knows she is sick, but from what she want say. He is such a gentleman. He takes care of her and truly seems to care for her well being. Then a guy from her past comes to visit. Lillian’s whole world flips upside down. Between Cayden and Andrews tension/drama and her sickness putting her in the hospital. Once everything is under control and back to normal it falls apart again. Cayden gets a job offer in LA. After several months apart she decides to let him go via text.
I'm not totally sure about the rating of this book because it wasn't really my kind of story, so it's a 3-3.5 stars. We have our main character, Lilian, who has Crhon disease and is an "organizer" who basically helps people organize their homes and whatnot. Then we have Cayden, her neighbor who is sporty and is a personal trainer.
The premises for their story weren't that bad as we have Lilian who is an introvert person who likes loneliness and hates when Cayden throws parties until late night and ruins her mood. But since they live next to each other, they are bound to meet and they do it because of Lilian, mostly, for very normal reasons (not arguing about this). Then they slowly find things about each other and BAM! All of a sudden, they start dating but they don't even know much about the other person. I don't know, I felt like it was both cute but fast in some points, but this could be OK. The reason why my rating wavers is because of the 3rd person POV. Lilian is an introvert and very detached, weird, girl. By using a 3rd person POV, as a reader I didn't feel any connection to the story and it all seemed really cold, while I think I could've warmed to her if we could get into her head and understand her thoughts better instead of being given Lilian who talks to none in her house.
My favorite thing about this book was Cayden's sense of humor. I found him very funny and adorable. I also liked that he is an instinctive caretaker. I also appreciated the way Lillian's medical issues are handled. There is a fine line between TMI and not telling enough so that we understand how it is to live with illness. I thought this was nicely balanced. It was definitely accurate. I don't have Crohn's, but I have something similar. Yep, that's what it is like to have an attack and what it is like between attacks while you try to figure out what you can and can't eat. I didn't care for being in Lillian's head quite so much. While I sympathize with the ways her life has turned upside down recently, she clearly has some other issues that we don't touch on in here. Listening to her go around with herself was a little wearing, but it didn't make me stop reading. Overall, this is entertaining, and I liked it enough to keep my eyes open for the second part. I voluntarily read this ARC and have written my honest opinion.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Lilian needs calm to work and because she’s sick, and she found it in her house near the lake, with her cats. But 6 months ago a new neighbor moved and now, each week-end, there’s a noisy party. She can’t stand it anymore and decide to do something. I didn’t know what to think during the first chapter with this depressive girl talking to her cats, but when she tries to go to his neighbor house in the night, the little trip becomes epic and I change my mind. there are lots of emotions all along the story. She falls in love with her noisy neighbor (Cayden) who is so patient with her, then her the brother of her bestfriend (who is dead) comes to see her (Andrew) and new tensions appear. It’s an excellent well written story, with great characters, but I didn’t know there were several books so this end was unexpected because of a cliffhanger.
I have made it to the 40% mark and it's been a struggle.
The character of Lillian seems all over the place. She's like a pinball bouncing around with little control. She's trying to live with a chronic illness, she's naturally cautious/shy/introverted and she's dealing with the aftermath of her friend's death. Is she overwhelmed? Is she depressed? Is she tired and fed up? Likely all three in addition to many other things.
What she isn't is interesting. I cannot find any redeeming qualities in her so far and knowing I am just over a third of the way through book one of a trilogy does not fill me with anticipation.
And so far, Cayden, our hero, isn't doing much for me either. There has been at least one scene written from his POV but he is proving to be as uninteresting as our heroine.
Touching. Wonderful quick read. I personally could relate to this book. While I don’t have her disease I feel her anxiety about an illness and it touched me so I related to Lillian. When we first meet her she’s so closed off from the world. She does her job but isolates herself otherwise from her family and life. She’s felt trauma in multiple ways. When Cayden comes into her life she’s at a very low point. He lifts her up. He’s just the perfect guy and in her book. Can he help her push her boundaries? Can she accept him just the way he is? I normally don’t like cliffhangers and this is one. The cliffhanger has left me waiting but the good thing is we don’t have a long wait!! Yay!! I read this book voluntarily for an honest review. I couldn’t put this book down. Read in one sitting 🙂. Enjoy!
Lillian made me chuckle with just how uptight she was and her turn of phrase but once I learned more about her history, both medical and personal, I understood a little more why she is the way she is but Cayden blows into her life and turns things upside down in such a good way. The verbal chemistry between them is amazing and Cayden was just what Lillian needed, a real breath of fresh air and he was different than most leading men. He was thoughtful, kind, so very caring and as Lillian put it, he could speak girl speak. Anything I say about the ending will give away too much away so all I will say is you have to read this book because it is touching with characters that grab you by the heartstrings and don't let go.
The love story between Lillian and Cayden starts off slow but as the plot carries you through their battle of wills and building romance showing he is keen but she has walls as well as dealing with Crohn’s which can be a debilitating disease. You get snippets of her past but I'm sure as the series progresses you will find out the whole story. You go through so many emotions with them and Lillian is such a strong woman who has dealt with so much in her life but now she's very lonely and cut herself off from friends and people she called family. Cayden makes her mad, happy and sad but most of all comfy and safe, they go on such a journey but you will have to read it to find out ........ I have to warn you it does end with a bit of a cliff hanger arghhhh but so worth reading.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book. I have really enjoyed starting to get to know Lillian and Cayden. Based on this comment, you know that there is a cliff hanger. Lillian is struggling with a health issue and wants peace and quiet. Cayden is a personal trainer who loves to party! Lillian gets very sick onw afternoon and Cayden comes to her rescue. He also helps her out one evening she becomes intoxicated. They decide to start a relationship, only to encounter a roadblock. Cayden is offered a temporary position in LA. Can their relationship survive long distance? Hope I don't have to wait too long to find out!
A lovely budding relationship despite the heroine's efforts to remain aloof, with some heartstring-tugging moments, I really got into the story in the second half. It could have been five stars if I had understood the heroine's disease and traumatic past sooner, and I had learned more about neighbor Cayden's background. Yes, it ends in a surprising cliffhanger (which would normally turn me off), but I still really enjoyed Lillian and Cayden's story. No real steam, but I did not feel that detracted from my enjoyment.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I added an extra star because I can empathize with Lil, same stomach issues. Something I'm grateful is feeling identified with her and giving this kinds of problems space into reading and writing world.
But i had such hiiiiigh expectations, I really wanted to relate, but some ideas didn't close. Like, why do they fell in love, how did it happen? why? WHY?! they met, they loved. That's it, but they really don't know each other. Sometimes the book felted too heavy, was hard finishing it. For me, it's not steamy AT ALL! Not spicy, anything, it could be interesting because she's sick and some people don't talk about it.
I absolutely loved this book. It took us on a roller coaster of emotions and left us wanting more. Lil and Cayden are some of he best characters I've had the privilege to read about. Her story was so hard and sad that I cried finally piecing them together. Cayden this down to earth guy just wanted to be apart of her life. By the end of the book I didn't see that coming. I'm looking forward to reading book 2. Excellent read! I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.
I received a copy of this book and I gladly leave my review. Wow this is the first book I’ve read of Lexy Timms and if her other books are like this one then I can’t wait to read more. This book is about Lillian who is a very lonely woman, she pushes her family and friends away and lives with her two cats. Lillian doesn’t realise how lonely she was until she met Cayden, they start off as friends and end up as more. This book is very emotional it had me in tears and not many books can do that! This book ends in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next one. I loved this book.
Lillian's business was taking off and she led a things were quiet, at home; she was dealing with her health issues. She was content. Or, she was until her new neighbor started having the loud parties. She's had enough and decides to confront him. That's when the tables turn... Satisfying start to an engaging romance. Enjoyed the chemistry between Lillian and Cayden. He helps her face the heartache and pain she has and is facing; helping her to ease her tension. First in a series. Not a standalone. 3 1/2 stars. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
I really enjoyed this wonderful quick read. I really enjoyed getting to know Lillian and Cayden! It took a little while for me to fully get in to it. Lillian had me laughing out loud more then once. Lillian is struggling with health issues and needs peace and quiet, that she finds at a house near the lake. Cayden is a personal trainer, who enjoys partying. Lillian falls sick and Cayden comes to her rescue. But there is a roadblock along the way. Can they survive the long distance? As I'm sure you know by now there is a cliffhanger ending. But this is a must read
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader's copy of this book📚 Can a person who organizes other people organize herself, especially when dealing with a chronic disease. Cayden and Lillian's story is interesting, is well paced, has well written characters, and describes the issues that Lillian faces pretty accurately. The chemistry is great and its overall a well written, compelling story. Well done!!
The story is not what you would expect from a Lexy Timms book.
It started really slow for me. Also, I have not yet warmed up to the main characters. I’m hoping that there will be character development in the next books.
I find it weird that there was only 1 section with the male character’s POV; the rest were the female’s.
I think that this is more of an introduction rather than a “story” per se. I hope that more will happen in the next books.
Great story about how a disease can disturb a person's life and routine. Love story was good but I really didn't like this book as much as I thought I would...the h seemed just more childish than it seemed she should be. I also did not like that the ending just left me hanging...hope this series grows in more ways when the next book comes out. I volunteered a review for an arc.
This is a very emotional read. The writing is spot on and the characters are realistically portrayed. So much pain, sorrow, tenderness and love that the H/h must come to terms with and work through. This book ends on a cliffhanger of sorts and you cannot help but hope that there is a HEA for this couple. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
Lillian and Cayden are so sweet together. What started out as annoying neighbor has brought love and light into Lillian's life. And Cayden can be his sweet, caring self for her. What Lillian needs to realize is that even sick, she is worthy of love and affection. And she is capable of giving it also. Can't wait for the next book!
I was given an ARC and here's my honest review. I liked this book!! This is the start of a story which will continue in the series. You get to know the characters throughout the whole book. They are quite open, but internal turmoils could mess things...and you are left with a big question: what will happen next? The start is promising, what I have to do now is wait for the next book!
I wanted to enjoy the story more and I would have if everything didn't revolve around her disease. I felt like the story was about the disease and everything else was background noise. I loved Cayden. With that said, I will be interested to see how the characters evolve in the future books.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
A very loving and healing story, Fragile Touch is a special romance. Lillian and Cayden really deserve the happiness they find together. Very sweet, this is the kind of story that makes your heart happy. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
This is a love story that is full of drama and emotion. It's about a person learning to live her life having a chronic disease. It is full of emotions up and down. The characters have great chemistry, and interesting interactions. I like reading this book but I'm not fond of cliffhangers. I received this book as a gift and voluntarily give this review.
Lillian has live a quiet life with her two cats without anyone else but when Cayden suddenly takes an interest in her. Cayden ends up falling for her but after he left to live in California Lillian realized that Cayden needs to be free from her. Since her disease is what stopping her from being with him. After she broke up with him over a text he came back to fix but will Lillian allow that.
This was a sweet story about Lillian, a shy and quiet career woman and her neighbour Caden, a sexy, muscular, gym trainer who has loud and frequent parties at his house. Lillian loves her two cats and quietness whereas Caden loves parties and people, but when these two opposites meet boy do the sparks fly. Another great book by Lexy Timms
I had such high expectations for this book...maybe because Lil had her own health issues and I wanted to relate so I am disappointed.
This is a fairly short book and I felt like there wasn’t enough time to develop the characters and for me to get more attached to them. It felt rushed. It could’ve been great..
Wow. The fist book I have read about a chronic desire that seems accurate. To have it be a love story that also breaks your heart and put it back together is amazing. Characters are well developed and you want them in your life. Disappointed it is a cliff hanger but can't wait for the next book.
