Megan: I’ve never had a boyfriend… I’m not allowed. My father’s always made it clear what he’d do to any man who came near me. And, with his track record, I’ve always believed him.
I’ve taken a job modelling in the south of France because I need the money. How hard can it be? It sounds like easy work to me… until I meet Luke, the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen. I want him more than I’ve ever wanted anything, but I can’t have him. Can I?
Luke: I don’t do relationships. I never have. I do women… lots of them. I’ve made a speciality of one night stands because I decided a long time ago that no-one was ever going to get close enough to hurt me.
Someone must really hate me though… I’m being sent to the south of France on a photographic shoot, with just one golden rule – don’t screw the model. Sounds simple? It would be, except she’s the most perfect woman I’ve ever seen, and I don’t just want to take her to bed… I want to keep her.
What happens when a man who’s always strived for freedom throws away the rule book and finally decides he wants to try at forever… with a woman who can only give him ‘for now’?
A dual POV story, with graphic sex scenes and adult language.
Finding Luke is book two in the Escaping the Past series, but can be read as a stand-alone story, with no cliff-hanger and a guaranteed HEA.
Suzie writes steamy and contemporary romances, with the kind of book boyfriends every woman needs in her life.
When she’s not writing, she likes nothing more than to relax with a coffee, while thinking up new storylines, and to pretend that plate of crumbs had absolutely nothing to do with her. Nothing whatsoever.
She lives in wedded bliss with the only man she’s ever loved… and their crazy cat.
I really liked Luke, I thought his character in the previous book was a great one but I did not like the FMC in this book. How much can one person cry constantly and yes I’ve been pregnant so I know about hormones but she was constantly crying which is a turn off it makes her problems seem less.
I really liked Luke in book one (you have to read in order to understand the storyline). Luke was the cheeky flirty guy who never had a relationship and slept with many many women but they all knew the score from meeting he told them it’s just sex nothing more and that’s been working for him. Megan is a 22 year old who has never had a relationship and has a mega controlling father. Together Luke & Megan are perfect for each other and she is the only woman he has got to know and want to know before sex and she is breaking his walls down. I would have given a 5 * rating but Megan made me drop that, she annoyed me so much in the immature, bratty way she responded to how many women Luke slept with. It was all before her and I know she has trust issues based on her mother leaving when she was 5 and how abusive her father is but she took that trust issue out on Luke and he had shown her nothing but love and loyalty and never looked at another woman from meeting her. It just showed her immaturity that she couldn’t even have a conversation with him or even try to understand he couldn’t change his past. Luke said and did everything he could and even Erin was telling her how badly she was reacting and that part of the book and how she continuously hurt him spoilt it a bit for me. Once she got over herself and immature jealousy and they got back together I enjoyed the story. Let’s see what happens with Will next.
Luke knows the rules. They are there for good reason, especially given what happened with Matt but staying away from the models is going to be hard when Megan is the model. Something about her is different. He knew it the first time he saw her.
She needs this job and is attracted to Luke but they can only have this time together. Once they get back to the states it has to stop or else Luke could be in grave danger
I wish she would have told him sooner. It was quite odd how her father held such control over her life
Luke wants no strings attached one night stands, when he meets Megan that all changes. Megan is falling for Luke but she can't let it go any further than this photo shoot trip. She's keeping something from Luke and can't lose him if she tells him. What's a girl to do? Great read.
Loved the book but Megan was irritating. Going back and forth with Luke and their relationship. Very immature in knowing everyone has a past. Took her too long in my opinion to over Luke's past but thankfully she finally did.
Another great addition to a fun series about love and friendship.Luke and Megan meet on a photo shoot and Luke is so drawn to her he breaks his promise to his best friend to never get involved with the models. When Megan ends the relationship with Luke he is beyond crushed. Will they ever get back together? Will Luke’s past keep them apart?
