The funniest photographs of wildlife from around the world collected here in one must-have book that is perfect for animal lovers of all stripes. When the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards announced a contest for the funniest animal photo, they received entries from all over the world. Now authors and original award founders Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam showcase the best of the best—as well as some never before seen—to present the most joyful photographs of wildlife ever printed. A pelican losing its lunch; an elephant falling on its face; a meerkat having a rough day… You’ll love this light-hearted, upbeat The images will make you smile, but there’s a serious side to this the authors hope to raise awareness for the need to protect wildlife, and the habitats they call home.
Considering these photos are from sort of contest for funniness, I didn't find very many of them that funny... :S I don't know, maybe I'm just a stick in the mud. The ones I thought were funny were REALLY funny, but the other ones were mostly just meh. Cute animals and great shots, just not funny haha exactly.
Just a fun little book chock full of fun, crazy, and/or adorable animal photographs. One of my faves was the super chubby hamster with his cheeks full of seeds running full-tilt at the camera with the caption "first day of jogging resolution"! LOL As a bonus, if you buy the book, a portion of the sale goes to help save wildlife. Woot!
A collection of funny, interesting, surprisingly referencial (or sometimes not) wildlife photos. The photos wouldn't be out of place in a coffee table album, but have been given captions to bring a smile to your face. Some hit the mark perfectly, and some might not, but overall, it's a nice book to have around and glance through for a quick smile.
My rating reflects more the photos and the fact that part of the proceeds go to charity rather than the captions, which were often quite eyeroll-worthy. Also, most of the photos were in Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. I'm starting to wonder if they were essentially the same book, just one for the UK and one for the USA.
Read 8/23/20 - Cute book that is a compilation of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards plus a few more thrown in. Not much in the way of "reading" but it was great to look through and I laughed out loud at some of the pictures. Fun.
1/10/26: Reread as I'm inventorying my books. It is super cute but not one I think I need to keep. I'll be putting this in a free little library but it is still fun and funny. Would recommend looking through it.
