When Life Turns Turtle Journey Of A bollywood Tramp

Rate this book
Indraneel is a young and successful film-maker, an alumnus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In an intoxicating relationship with a young and beautiful aspiring actress, his next film is being hailed as a blockbuster. Things couldn’t be going any better. Suddenly, without warning, Indraneel’s life overturns. Hurt floods his heart and soul, seemingly beyond redemption…

He arrives in Rishikesh, a mountain town by the river. The artist within him, as well as the bruised individual, senses the timeless love and solace emanating from the Ganga and the Himalayas, but innumerable whys continue to invade his thoughts. Introduced to Shaman, a bookseller with a difference, and a ‘closet guru’, the deeply sceptical Indraneel is introduced to a bewilderingly new, yet strangely magnetic world of spiritual seeking.

As the seasons pass, as pass they will...Indraneel gradually opens his mind to what he finds around him, delving step by step into the truth about spirituality and human existence. A measure of peace finally descends on his tormented mind.

But the world beckons yet again and Indraneel stands at a crossroads once more. He is asked to make a difficult choice. Will he submit to the strong current of spirituality now flowing within him? Does a spiritual life mean giving up everything else? Can he ever go back to the world? Will he find the happiness he so desperately seeks?

The world that Raj Supe creates is vividly described with a true artiste’s eye for detail. Set in the ‘belief land of Rishikesh’ on the banks of Ganga – ‘perennial river of India’s mystical past’ – his story leads the reader through light and shadow to the goal Indraneel, the protagonist, has set himself – a life of spiritual bliss…Raj serves up a rich repast from which no reader can depart unfulfilled. ~ Benjamin Gilani"

"The only way out , is through oneself"

A believer again thats what you made me, the way you vividly create a picture - and let our imagination do the rest : was surely the work of a magician.
- Raj Supe, each and every minute detail that you describe ; the way you make a braid out of the tiny fragments that make the book so hard to let go; and to keep it down and do something else and just the perfect amount of salt - no more, no less is your speciality.
This review is a different i would love to use the words i recently gain from a vivid reading ( not boasting :/ ) but would use simple sentences as you have did ... simple words words as i have read i come to a point that simplicity is the key i love your writing style.
Coming to the plot - Indraneel - what a journey this character have gone through - marvellous ; exploring naam, dharma, karma, sawdharma - towards spirituality and that state of transaction when he became slim shady (precisely skinny) and just roaming ghatts of Ganga , fuck man - the way you describes Rishikesh - now i have a urge to visit it buddy.
That bloody guy Shaman of Eldorado - the storyteller with all possible scientific explanation to all the possible answers ! And the girls both took my breath away Vasundhara and Avni connected alot and that scene of Vaz emerging out of Ganga like a Goddess was picture perfect - the thing is that the way u blend the modern day life with vedas was a perfect blend and balanced at all time the ending i did anticipated but it was fun after all ... you should have put some more emotions when Indraneel meets Vaz but okay its fine that way too. I am thinking of reading it again ( who knows ) and thank you very much Raj Supe for giving me this splendid book of yours, some books changes you - this one did to me and whats better than an Alive writer to thank anyways ( rest ones for me are resting ) i have a request iff u write a new book , Chap my address remains the same ; Do send it - a request or order upto you mate. I rather keep it short my fingers are aching ... thank you very much gentlemen.
- Yours faithfully

When this book came in my hand, I was pleasantly surprised by the cover. The browns and the whites gave a promise of a good book ahead. Then I read the sub title “The Journey of a Bollywood Tramp” and I thought it would be something on a line of a Bollywood actor who gets in shit.

Just a few pages in and I discovered how WRONG I was. This book is about a Bollywood director who has a breakup and then goes to Rishikesh. Since I have been to the place a few times, for me the book had so much more appeal as I found myself reminiscing about my days there.

The writing style is excellent. This is truly one of the best books that I have read. The story line is so different, and the narration so scintillating, together it becomes one un-put-downable books.

A seemingly simple and gripping work of fiction,it is a hidden treasure trove of spiritual gems which slowly linger and unfold layer after layer like Matrioshka dolls, compelling you to ponder over these ancient truths until it reaches its very core, its heart:the
Sublime truth of living a harmonious life;a perfect blend of worldy Maya and Spirituality which we all yearn for.
There was something about the book which i could not identify at first, which made it quite unlike anything i have read recently. Its presence was so subtle that i had to re read it to figure out what it was:
Love and Serenity which came from the depths of the author's heart enveloping you in a warm cocoon which rejuvenates you with a fresh introspective perspective of life.
Raj Supe deftly weaves an exquisite tapestry of deep profound beliefs lucidly explained and interwoven with haunting descriptions and characters which vividly come alive on the screen of one's mind!
Beautifully etched and intensely reverential are the moving portrayals of Naam and Footprints, amongst many other such evocative passages, which can only be written by one who has veritably experienced Divinity himself.
A must read and re read for all ages, believers and non believers alike !

Meditation has become an all-inclusive word in today's time when going to hills for soul-searching is neither probable nor desired. And with so much explosion of information the certain tenets of life have become muddled and misinterpreted. At such times, Raj Supe’s book “When Life Turns Turtle” becomes a very important vade mecum, which takes religion from the realm of closed-ness to everyday living. With a thought akin to this ideology, Raj unveiled the book recently in Mumbai.
From Mumbai Matinee to the Motionless Mountains it transports you to yourself, with thought-sutras that aims to provide practical wisdom for everyday living. Though many books have been penned with the same purpose, what differentiates “When Life Turns Turtle” from others is its simplicity and lucidness. It has drawing from the Indian epics and scriptures. The book distils the wisdom of these epics and marries them beautifully to the everyday struggles and travails.
It simply liberates you.

"When Life Turns Turtle" written by Raj Supe caught my attention the moment I learnt of its name. The author has adopted a unique narrative style where he introduces one to one's own life through the protagonist. As Indraneel's life threatens to capsize quite a few times before totally turning turtle, we can relate to it with a bated breath and feel it’s our own story.

The author's genius is revealed as he captivates the sojourn which is nothing similar to what one has heard of or ever seen in life. What a journey for a Bollywood Tramp! I don’t know why he used the word ‘tramp’—he isn’t!

I have underlined several parts of the book that I think I will revisit for the rest of my life. Not because I didn't understand them, but because every time I read them, they touch my soul at a very inexplicable core, scraping out perhaps eons of rust, making me very light and rejuvenated!

loved the title and I loved the cover. A red hibiscus in water alongside a pair of wooden chappals, against the backdrop of hills, looked serene and spiritual. The book in my hands looks beautiful too. The plot is well-paced and it keeps you hooked. Unlike most philosophical stories, it is not boring and unnecessarily stretched at all.

The protagonist, Indraneel Barua, a successful film-maker but a unhappy personal life. An ugly divorce followed by a bitter relationship leaves him devastated. His childhood and best friend , Arunodaya, advises him to take a break and visit Rishikesh. Indraneel agrees on an impulse. Read full review at Natasha'z Words

Reading When Life Turns Turtle is like floating on river Ganga – serene, effortless and free flowing. Yet along the journey lie whirlpools that challenge the reader to confront the unsettling questions of one’s purpose in life, how to deal with its uncertainties and failures, and how to overcome obstacles to finding everlasting peace.
In Indraneel’s journey from a successful filmmaker with an entitled life, to his angst due to a failed love affair, to his finding solace in Rishikesh, the writer weaves an intricate plot which never loosens its grip on the reader. The world of method acting and intellectual discussions on cinematic techniques makes way for a new life on the banks of Ganga Ma where Shaman, a ‘bookseller’ explicates for Indraneel the theory of Karma. Shaman (who remains somewhat of an enigma to the reader right till the end), is Indraneel’s guide through the “megamalls of spirituality” much like Virgil in Dante journey through the three worlds. The deep caverns through which Ganga passes are like the dark recesses of the mind which the protagonist must confront before his tortured soul can be healed. His journey from “vishaad” (disenchantment) to enlightenment is sure to strike a chord with every reader’s heart.
The vivid description of Rishikesh – its ghats, temples, caves, the changing colours of the waters from dawn to dusk – magnetically draws the pilgrim soul to take a literal and metaphorical journey to this seat of divinity. Truly a spellbound reading.

About the story:
Spirituality comes with a pure amalgamation of soul and heart. This book revolves around and derives this statement. The contentment and soulfulness comes from within and not from the materialistic things. Filled up with inspiration and self-realization, this book has a lot to teach. With an unusual concept in hand, the author has managed to write an amazing story by mixing the fiction part of Indraneel with the non-fiction part of spirituality. As indraneel realizes the meaning of true happiness and finds out where his soul finds solace.

Writing & Narration:
When it comes to the writing part, the author has penned down every emotion beautifully. Right from the chase of materialistic things to the final realization, every part of the story has been written amazingly.

Book cover and Title:
Book cover could have been a little better but the title does justice to the story and can create interest amongst readers.

Pros:
• Good concept
• Good characterization
Cons:
• Switching off at some parts
My verdict:
While summing up the review, I would just like to ask the readers to give a read once. To all those dealing with some or the other problems in life or are stuck somewhere, this book is an enlightening source. So, give it a try, who knows, when self-realization comes to you.

Excellent read.
when I started reading I felt that it is my story.
Author has wonderfully explained the spiritual journey and the questions that one has on spirituality. this book throws light on myths , reality of spirituality , touches upon karma and its fundamentals , and most important weather a man with household can walk on spiritual path without giving up materialistic pleasures.
This is a must read for all. it is like Spirituality for Dummies wonderfully woven into a story of a Bollywood artist who has everything in life and suddenly feels emptiness within and in search for answers goes to Rishikesh a hill station near the Himalayas like George Harrison of the Beatles had gone well he not only gets his answers and a lot more than that.

We all have many questions in our mind about spirituality and we also often question the rationale or logic behind existence of things take for example the Kumbh mela and weather we really cleanse ourselves in water where a million people have just taken a dip , this book wonderfully explains many such things and a lot more than that by the end of the book we develop a strong connect with the characters and feel that we know them personally.

enjoy your read.

It has been a while since I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. I am sorry for the delay in reviewing.

I had to take this book in small doses, since it covers a great deal of Hindu philosophy, interweaving it with a fairly interesting story. As with all philosophical works, this needed to be digested gradually.

I liked the book for its sincere and non-sermonising attitude towards religion. While it sticks to the beliefs and customs of Hinduism, not really touching upon other religious denominations like the works of many authors who write on Indian philosophy (for instance, branching off into Zen Buddhism or Sufism), it shows a respectful outlook towards people who follow other paths. There are no attempts either to show cultural superiority or please a Western audience.

Personally, I also liked the contrast between the humidity and hectic pace of Mumbai, and the tranquility and biting cold of Uttaranchal, being brought out so vividly--since I have lived in both these places.

Definitely a good read for those who are looking for a genuine work of fiction based on spirituality.

This book has a living presence that lures the reader not only into the storyline, but also into the more subtle currents of his/her own lived life. As I spent more and more time reading I was surprised to find that the story strongly mirrored aspects of my own life and struggles. Raj Supe's words found their way into the heart of my life. They moved me to think, reflect, and question the meaning, values, and trajectory of my own life both materially and spiritually. I felt as if through this work of fiction I was encountering a divine presence that held, supported, and nurtured my soul. It was one of the best books I have read in a long time and will have a place on my bookshelf in which it will be read again and again.

There are rare and precious books you encounter in your life that can bring about life changing dynamics – a new way of thinking, new beginnings. ‘When Life Turns Turtle,’ is one of those rare books that stops one in their tracks and makes you think and action long after you have finished reading it! A beautifully articulated book by Raj Supe that takes you on a spiritual journey that stays in your subconscious even if you aren’t that way inclined!

Reading this book has been a beautiful journey in itself. The manner in which the protagonist's character is gradually showing transformation from a disarrayed person to a spiritual individual is fantastically worded throughout the story. What struck me the most about this book was how subtly and beautifully, the realms of Rishikesh and the Ganga are expressed by the author. The book surely becomes one of my favorites and the lessons will remain etched in my mind and heart, for ever !!!

This was an exceptional read. Initially I misjudged the book by it's cover but it was way beyond my expectation. The way the author weaves the journey of Indraneel and describes the meaning and power of japaa, naam, karma, kumbha mela and spirituality on total ignited the light of supreme being within me. The writing was fantastic. It really felt like I was also in Rishikesh with the lead and going through the same journey of self realisation. That's how I felt while readng this book. I felt content after reading this book.

A thought provoking and engaging novel. It portrays the journey of a successful filmmaker Indraneel Barua. After a painful breakup, he went to Rishikesh after his friend's suggestion. From here his complete transformation began. Indraneel started exploring the spiritual side of Hinduism and truth behind the rituals. Author has described places of Rishikesh so vividly it feels like you are the one who is traveling there. Indraneel met some yogis and ascetics and found his Guru. His transformation is unbelievable. This novel beautifully explains the concept of Hinduism in a very interesting manner. Must read for everyone.

If you enjoy traveling to places blessed with Nature's bounty, do read "When Life Turns Turtle" by Raj Supe. The protagonist, Indraneel, emotionally wrecked, travels to Rishikesh, cradled in the lap of the lofty Himalayan region, just to to find space. He has absolutely no idea what the place holds in store for him. Here he discovers the enthralling sights of the Ganga river, the Himalayan caves and forests and the wild life whose unspoilt habitat this region is. The sights and sounds work as a balm to soothe the soul of Indraneel. The sights of the Ganga river lit up with floating lights and an elephant frolicking in the river, rare sights for the city-bred Indraneel, inspire and awe him. The vibrations from the ancient cave of the renowned sage Vashishtha, who was guru to Shri Ram, penetrate Indraneel at a subliminal level.

He rubs shoulders with some visitors from foreign lands who are drawn to regular visits to Rishikesh. Through some of them he re-discovers the ancient spiritual treasure trove native to his homeland, India. He also meets a very interesting person, Shaman, who acts as a quasi-guru, counselor and friend all rolled in one. With help from Shaman, his 'closet-guru' he is able to penetrate the mystique of Hinduism and finds out the rationale behind the 'rituals'.

Indraneel is witness to the might of the Ganga river in a disaster of unprecedented proportions, as she breaks her banks and ravages some of the holy pilgrim spots and villages. His innate goodness drives him to join a rescue team and travel to the affected places. Sickened in body and soul, he yet returns to Rishikesh and not Mumbai, for recovery.

Indraneel is a film-maker from 'Bollywood' of Mumbai, a centre of crass commercialism. His associates and friends lead a life touched by Bohemian values. Yet, he discovers the relevance of some of the ancient practices to his own life, steeped though he is in modernism. Indraneel contemplates abandoning his work and living in semi-exile in this enchanting land of Rishikesh. However he is pursuaded to go back to his work which is his 'svadharma'. Having woven threads of spirituality into the torn fabric of his life, he is able to return to Bollywood a much rejuvenated individual.

The author, Raj Supe (aka Swami Vishwashreyananda), brings home to us some precious truths of the ancient religion of Hinduism (sanatana dharma) through the characters of Indraneel and Shaman. Divested of the trappings of space, time and culture, these truths shine the more in their purity. We are heartened to find that spiritual pursuit does not need abandonment of one's normal life. We are welcomed, rather, to weave the precious threads of such spiritual pursuit in the normal life.

"When Life Turns Turtle" reads like a travelogue through written not in first person but as through the eyes of the protagonist. Without a single sentence that smacks of preaching, the author brings home the kernel of the truths which he personally subscribes to. The best part of this racy book is that you can gulp it down like a well-made cup of hot coffee, all at one go if you are in a hurry, or in savoury sips while it is yet hot. A racy read, it is a must for every young and old person!

When life turns turtle is a spiritual venture with a fictional background. The life of Indraneel is complicated and he tries to simplify it with spirituality. The book breaks several pre set norms of spirituality. When every spirituality books mention about attaining nirvana after fulfilling your decides, the books speaks of spirituality in a pragmatic scenario.
Indraneel's life in the new world is endearing. The narration is engaging. The book is definitely not an easy read. Take it only if you seriously need to read something with substances.

It had been long since I had read something by an Indian author and enjoyed it so (excluding Devdutt Patnaik of course).

I didn't really expect anything from WLTT, as it was dropped suddenly in my 'To Be Read' pile, demanding my immediate attention.
I also skipped reading the review on the back cover - I do this sometimes.

It came across as an easy read with simple but powerful words and straightforward sentences.
Initially I felt I had landed myself in yet another tooty fruity Bollywood love story. The pace of the story was really fast - everything was happening in fast forward.
I felt lost & a little disconnected with the characters, specially when they jumped two years & BAM - were having real time relationship fights.
I did not really feel for Indraneel, his emotions or the ordeal that he went through as his character had not really stuck with me by then. I felt like a third person witnessing these fights from afar, & was not IN the story,

But little did I know, that this was just the stage being set as an excuse for Indraneel's spiritual journey.

The story literally went from CHAOS to ZEN.

Felt like one of those videos where the waves are crashing wildly in the rocks & suddenly the slow- motion mode comes on & you can see every curve of the wave beautifully falling softly on the rocks.

The book completely sucked me in when he reached Rishikesh. Rishikesh was beautifully described - you could actually hear the river flowing and felt the pulsating energy of the holy place.
All the characters he met thereafter were a joy!
I loved the fact that all the random people he met in Rishikesh had a lesson for him to learn - however small, all of them were important to his transformation.

I felt that character grow in every page & that was the time I stopped reading in third person and felt one with Indraneel. I was there. I was in Rishikesh. I was in Shaman's bookstore. I was sitting on the banks of the river. I enjoyed lemon honey ginger tea in the dhaba. (p.s. - kudos for the detailing - it is one of the most famous drinks in the hills - a personal favorite).
Although I had the regular answers to the most 'soul searching' questions he asked Shaman, they were all answered beautifully and it was a joy to read them.
In some parts, the author very easily picked up the reader from the banks of the river and put the reader in a taxi in the heart of Bombay. The transition was absolutely smooth & very impressive.

In a nutshell, it was a seamless growth story of the protagonist that was etched out perfectly with delightful characters.
To me as a reader, on a very personal level, it helped me understand the significance of chanting naam amongst other things and I love it when I learn something from a book. Something that makes me go 'wow , i should do that' .
All in all, it was a delightful read and certain parts of the book demand a revisit.

And you know the author has done his job when only 'Rishikesh' comes to mind as your next getaway destination..

"When life turns turtle" is a work of fiction by Raj Supe. It is a story of a successful filmmaker and lost soul, of how he discovers the path spirituality, of how it rescues him.

I loved this book because it is a narrative of the holy town of Rishikesh, and of how an urban educated person from a well to do family finds solace in the beauty of nature, religion and spirituality. And all this from the eyes of an Indian. So no awe at encountering cows on your hikes around the town, or astonishment at seeing ash covered sadhus. Only a sense of happiness at looking at all this with your own eyes, at a very close distance, instead of on the television, or from very far off during various religious processions in your respective city.

And although the narrator captures the beauty of Ganga and Rishikesh, even Varanasi, very beautifully and holistically, there were parts in the story, where I found it hard to be emotionally connected. And I wondered why. After all, the elements were all in place - good English, relatable characters, simple narrative. And then it hit me. Many dialogues that are supposed to be Q&A sessions between the protagonist, Indraneel and his mentor Shaman, are actually an attempt to answer FAQs from the reader on the subjects aforementioned. So the tone of book becomes educative, the protagonist starts coming across as a disciple proud to eager to show off his newly acquired knowledge. And that broke the connect with me.

Also, (spoiler alert) the guy has been in Rishikesh for months. He's mingling with sadhus and the like. He's doing japa for many hours a day. And his parents don't once think of visiting him to gauge what's up! I mean, my parents stage an intervention if they feel I'm not wearing warm enough clothes, or if my heels are too high. And I'm in my mid-thirties, and mother of a child! I mean, we are talking about Indian parents here.

Then of course, there is the issue of his staying for many months in Rishikesh - of course he can afford to do that because he's rich enough not to have to worry about earning monthly salary, of supporting his family and paying household expenses. And he does that while maintaining a Harley Davidson in the town!

There are other minor points here and there. But I guess one can let the author have his creative licence. Because, overall, the book is great. And it makes you want to pack your bags, ditch the exotic foreign locales, and explore the holy towns of our beautiful country.

Must Read for anyone who likes Spiritual Literature. Everything about it fascinated me - The rush of Bombay, the stillness of Hrishikesh, the thrill of Cinema, the enigma of romance, the hammer of break up, the aroma of incense, the knowledge of the Ancients, the beauty of Ganga and the joy of self discovery. Its a complete package - go for it without a second thought.

The protagonist’s journey from mundane to profound is totally beguiling.

The various milestones in Indraneel’s life give an assurance that whatever happens, happens for the good. His life wouldn’t have had changed drastically, had he not broken up with Avani. Though the circumstances might be different, each one of us experiences the gloomy side of life as Indraneel does. And this is the reason the reader feels an immediate connect with Indraneel’s life.

Indraneel’s journey evolves beautifully from being an ordinary mind to an enriched soul and on the path of being an enlightened one. Various tribulations he encounters during the transformation phase have been put up so aptly comforting the mind that yes, this happens to others as well and that kinda soothes the guilt.

What I liked the most about the story is that Indraneel was not asked to renounce everything. Infact, he was asked by his Guru to go back to his primordial life and lead a clean and normal one as that of a grihastha! This leaves you with the sense of assurance that it does not necessarily require a person to give up everything in search for The Ultimate. What it requires is being extraordinarily ordinary!

The way in which the characters in the story have been described made me feel like am watching a movie! Am sure this book will take shape of a movie some day! ):
The very heartening attitude of the story leaves the mind rest assured that ‘Seek and you shall Find’, no matter what!

A Page Turning Spirituality Adventure- A must read in today's time!

This book has an universal appeal and has something for everyone belonging to all age groups. It's a quintessential book of soul searching and finding the meaning of life.

The tone of the book is personal and intimate when there are conversations between the protagonist Indraneel and his mentor Shaman and at the same time the writing is able to capture the sweep and scope of big mega events like the Himalayan tsunami and the Kumbh Mela at Allahabad with ease.

The holy river Ganga and her banks provide the gorgeous backdrop for this story of seeking to unfold. Set in the contrasting locales of pulsating Mumbai to the spiritually charged Rishikesh. The story despite dealing with a sombre subject of spiritual quest, still manages to have a texture of a thriller. The writing is infused with a sense of mystery, the reader is always left with the feeling of what's going to happen next thus resulting in a page turning adventure as we follow the graph of Indraneel’s journey of finding his true calling.

A must read in today's time when everyone of us are seeking answers to the eternal problems plaguing us of frustration, depression and heartbreak.

A great book!!! "'When Life Turns Turtle" (5/5)

It's a fiction about a Mumbai Bollywood director, who takes recluse, after emotional turmoils. During this time he goes through experiences, which changes his paradigms. He understands, his past life had been without much joy. He starts to experience life first hand, and feel the essence, with heightened awareness. He experiences fulfillment. He goes back to business a much better person, much happier, and freer. The story is fiction, but it's about real experiences. This book leaves one in silence and calm, and filled with buoyant drive to be freer, happier, more successful, and above all a much more fulfilling life. One can easily read this book 2-3 times. In the beginning one has to keep patience, till it gets rolling later with heart pounding events, and effervescent experiences. Its about getting more real, and much more cooler. Its about becoming better in everything, with lesser stress. Its about an ideal way of life. It's about everybody's life.

A riveting examination of change.

Throughout the narrative, we feel change in all its forms. Circumstances change, sometimes violently. The scenery changes, from the manic energy of Bombay streets to the serene riverside at Rishikesh. The environment changes, the various seasons come to life in all their glory and then give way to each other. Life’s priorities change.

Through all this, a fascinating parade of characters illuminate the story with their unique takes on life. Some of them easily deserve a spinoff tale of their own – Shaman, the bookseller, Avani the ambitious actress and Arunoday the theatre artist – to name but a few.

Someone said the point of every journey was to return home, but with changed eyes. Our hero Indraneel’s journey reflects the truth of this insight.

In a world where the pace of change is accelerating beyond all limits, the greatest transformation is the one within.

It is my honor to write a review of such a great author's work. 'When Life Turns Turtle' is a must read for all those who want to experience a different dimension of life.
In today's times, when the entire humanity is in the grip of materialism, this book plays an important role of showing the right path to an inquisitive mind.
With an outstanding command on the language, high sensitivity towards human mind & it's vagaries and the deepest possible urge to help people understand the ultimate truth of life, Raj Supeji very capably helps the readers in distinguishing between myths and the ultimate.
Very rarely we come across an evolved person, like Supeji, creating a beautiful portrait on the back drop of modern life. That too with such a potent message.

Exciting and Spiritually Enlightening!!

An intensely gripping fiction that very lucidly and palatably takes through the journey of a spiritual seeker. Surely it would channelize the thought process and draw the youth to the folds of spiritual living which doesn’t necessarily require renunciation. Narration of incidents, episodes and experiences have been authored by Raj Supe with minute nitty-gritty and absolute clarity making everyone, a famished reader living through as Indraneel! The gripping crave for reading it like flowing Maa Ganga, intensifies after Chapter 53 with the picturisation of Kumbh Mela and Spiritual Initiation(Deeksha). The return of transformed Indraneel after Chapter 73, to pursue his unfinished endeavours makes it a complete reading.

'When Life Turns Turtle' is an extraordinary Book, it describes the toughest situations and concepts of life very simply. The Author takes you to different journeys and everything is narrated so well as if you are watching a movie. It captures everything minutely with ease and creates the interests in all the events, characters and places covered in the Book.

A must read for all ages if you are a believer in God it would definitely answer few questions for you or increase your devotion to Ganga Ji and Naam even for non believers it brings a good story and would increase their love to Nature.

My love for Rishikesh, Naam and Gangaji has multiplied several times!
