It’s time for Dominant Skin Walker, Tyce Steele, to be brought to his knees!
Briel Solomon hates Skin Walkers. Because of Skin Walkers, her father is dead and she and her sister are now parentless and on the run. She’ll have to rely on Monroe StoneCrow one last time for financial assistance, but once she gets what he owes her, she’ll be gone.
Tyce’s casual indifference to the simple mission he and his team have accepted is typical. Self-assured to the point of cockiness, he knows no one is better at the hunt then he and his Apex Skin Walkers. Hell, he even finds it laughable that Monroe is willing to give up such a hefty financial prize for the simple retrieval mission of one human female. Cake! The mission is going to be a piece of cake!
Making an enemy of Monroe StoneCrow is a mistake, and taunting Monroe is going to be Tyce’s undoing. Not only has Monroe found Tyce’s Angel, he’s sending Tyce unwittingly to her. Unlike Monroe’s SkinWalkers, Tyce and his Walker Sentries at Apex haven’t had the luxury of the inoculation that delays the affliction—the instantaneous recognition of one’s mate. Tyce is about to come face-to-face with his destiny and the poor bastard has no idea!
My pack territory is in Central Montana, between Stone Crow Estates and the North Fortress. Born and raised in an untamed location that bridges the gap between rolling prairies and majestic mountain peaks, I am born to a family that also bridges the gap between cultures. My father’s people boast a fiercely proud Scandinavian ancestry while my mother’s tribes descend from two savagely beautiful and unique nations (White Clay and Nakoda) that inspire my Skin Walker series.
I'm a huge fan of MMA, boxing, 30 Seconds to Mars, DMX, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and 21 Pilots (“…sometimes quiet is violent”). I also love to read because it encourages me to write. (I hate it when authors add that they love coffee and chocolate. Really? Who doesn't love coffee and chocolate?) Anyway, I love beer...kidding. I don't love beer but we are engaged in a very serious relationship. (Mom, please don't call me when you read this.)
Please leave feedback….well, only if it’s positive. “Keep in mind that I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my shit! (Erykah Badu lyrics!)

Enjoyed it but way more typos in it than usual. Someone is not doing the job they're getting paid for.
Took way too long for Tyce to finally tell her what being his Angel really meant, even though he had given her his halo almost from the very beginning of the book. There was a scene that bothered me. She ran when she first saw him because of the halo he was wearing yet a few scenes later he shows her his halo and she's "surprised" and doesn't understand what it is. Which was it? She ran because she knew what it was or she had no idea at all?
Such a fantastic addition to the Skin Walkers series. The author kept the intensity high and the story moving with the danger coming from every corner, and she brought this dominant alpha to his knees by the sweetest character and her equally adorable younger sister. I love how she showed the depth of emotions hidden beneath Tyce’s outer shell and the way he was able to win over his Angel. This was a HEA that I have long awaited and I can’t wait to read the next one she sends my way.
Briel the human and Tyce the Skinwalker and leader of the Apex compound. He starts off as an irreverent, arrogant man who thinks women are easily manipulated and mating is for fools such as Monroe. But Monroe sets him up for his comeuppance; Briel. The Affliction strikes hard and immediate, but of course it takes most of the book for them to come together. She is being chased by evil government types and Tyce must keep her and her little sister safe. Safe from the men chasing her and safe from Monroe's manipulations. I liked that Briel doesn't think much of Monroe's tactics either. The forgotten daughter of a general who spent his time helping skinwalkers instead of being there for his wife and daughters, she starts the story off resenting all skinwalkers. Then Tyce kidnaps her and her sister and well... talk about starting off on the wrong foot! It's an uphill battle from there for him to gain her trust. I would have given the story 4 stars but the ending was so peremptory that I felt a bit let down. That and the way Tyce's character became a little diluted towards the end. Next thing you know they'll all join hands and sing kumbaya in the dining hall. (eye roll) But overall I enjoyed it.
Every book the schtick is that the mating never goes smoothly. It's like Conn says in this book..."one day, one of us is actually gonna do this thing right"
Re-reading the series, and liked this addition to it. Tyce egomaniac he is, it brought to his knees by the equal egomaniacal Monroe. The formula for the main characters is the same as in past books, but that isn't a negative. What is entertaining is the main characters response to the "affliction". It is that, which keeps you turning the page and engrossed in the story. Would have loved to get more information on who was after Briel, which is why I dropped to 4 stars, hopefully that will be told in the next book. I like that we are moving to Apex from Estates, gives more definition to the world building. Well worth your time and $$
This was such a great book... Monroe always wanted to get back at Tyce, and what better way then finging his Angel. Tyce was sent on a mission from Monroe to bring in Briel, but once he found her and first set his eyes on her he was Afflicted. Tyce knew Monroe set him up into finding his Angel Briel is on the run with her sister after their father disappeared, both knowing he is gone. Both are caught by Tyce and his men, scared and worried they dont understand yet that they were sent to help both Briel and her sister Fena.
Tyce needed to be shown there is more to life than money and fighting. He needed a reason. Now he has two. His arrogant self was brought down a few notches. You know these guys seriously need females in their lives. Something to remind them what they are fighting for. I love that he apologized to Conn about not recognizing the need for safety and schools for the kids. Can't wait for the next one.
Tyce is the Dominant at Apex, a compound of shifter mercenaries. He is a tough man and works select cases for the money. His compound is not women and children friendly. It is too exposed and vulnerable. So when he accepts a case for a lot of money, he is not pleasantly surprised to find something other than money as his reward. One tough man meets one scared woman with one adorable little girl. The little girl stole my heart.
Love like in the song "LOVE" by Kendrick Lamar. Just love me I wanna be with you. Listen to this song smooth and meaningful. Tyce so glad to read his story I was caught from Monroe Stonecrows words she's going to bring you to your knees. Read this book and watch it happen and the kidnapping was the icing on the cake. Susan Bliler next book please.
Another great edition to the Skinwalker Series. It did take me a little longer than normal to get into the story but it was a very enjoyable read. I will continue to recommend Susan Bliler to other readers.
I found Tyce to be such a strong character starting out but then becoming less than as the story went on. The relationship also seemed immature. The end felt rushed and lost the chemistry between Briel and Tyce
i love all the skin walker books, own them all and have read them multiple times. I adore Tyce, and boy did he having it coming!!! Lol, I love Monroe and I'm so glad that he put it to Tyce. Couldn't stop laughing. Never fear, Tyce and his angel Briel work it out and they get the their HEA. She put him through his paces too, loved Briel.
Tyce was finally brought to his knees and discovered what all the fuss was about at Stonecrow Estate. This was another good romance and I recommend it!
