Around The Way Girls 5 brings you to the borough of Brooklyn, where the streets can be your salvation or they can be your hell on earth. Take a look at the lives of some street-smart women who will learn what living the fast-paced life can mean in the end if you are not careful.
What if you were raised to be a hooker and worst of all, your father was your pimp? In Keepin' It In The Family, this isn't just a nightmare for the Collins daughters, this is reality. Raised without the guidance of their mother, Diamond, Essence and Chanel were forced onto the streets at a very young age. They were expected to make that money by any means necessary, or face the wrath of their daddy, Dallas Collins. Can the girls bang together in order to free themselves from Dallas?
In Pound Cake, we bring you to Coney Island, where four friends deal with daily life in one of the deadliest parts of the borough. Pound Cake, a beautiful yet fiery nineteen-year-old, is the leader of the pack. People in the streets know not to mess with Pound Cake or her homegirls. So when a local hustler named Winter impregnates and then abuses Minnie, the youngest of the group, Pound Cake won't stand for it. She is going to find a way to make him pay.
So Seductive introduces you to the world of Cinnamon and Simone. Best friends since childhood, they are every man's fantasy and they know it. They love to play with men and get whatever they want from them. But when one of their night's escapades turns violent, will the girls change, or will they fall prey to the unforgiving Brooklyn streets?
I think that this book was awesome. It’s about three sisters that stick together. I think that all books have a meaning to it, and this book is saying that even your close family members can be your worst enemy. In this book Diamond, Essence, and Chanel’s own father didn’t want them when they were children, but since their, mother died he had no choice but to take them in. the girls father Dallas raised them to be hustlers. He wouldn’t let them play to rough or go to birthday parties; instead he taught them how to do things that kids of their age were not supposed to know. As they grew older they learned to do what they thought was best, regardless if their father agreed or not. I like this book because it shows me that when I get old enough I am aloud to have a mind of my own. Even though my parents might not like it they will soon learn to deal with it.
I'm reading this book now. I can't believe they daddy doing this to them. It's sorta a slow read for me because I'm use to reading books about drug dealers. But over my break I plan on finishing this book.! :) i couldn't finish reading this book, because I had to return it back.! :(
This is certainly better than 3 and 4. I haven't yet read 2 and can't really remember the first one although I must have continued reading the series for a reason so i suspect 1 was pretty good. I'd say 1 and 5 are the best without knowing anything about 2. I was a little surprised at these stories after reading the third and fourth books in the series. These stories were just all around better written. More thought out, more detailed while not getting boring, more exciting, etc. I'd give it a 3.5 really. I'm looking forward to reading more full length books by Tysha, Erick Gray, and Mark Anthony now.
Each short story did'nt disappoint. They were all quite entertaining and each could stand alone as a book. The authors were awesome & quite talented writers. Tasha, Erick Gray and Mark Anthony.
