Nothing good can come from a Thanksgiving stuffed with secrets.
With the arrival of a mysterious stranger in Hooks Harbor, the past crashes right on top of Hannah’s apple raspberry pie. To make matters worse, an old crime rears its ugly head and the race to locate a stash of stolen money only whips up a bowlful of questions.
The temperature is turned to high when a murder throws Hannah’s boyfriend’s life upside-down. She has no choice but to get involved to keep Cal out of jail. As she sifts through a buffet of suspects, greed becomes her worst enemy.
When it appears nothing more could go wrong, the biggest secret of all is about to be revealed.
Hannah puts on her poker face to protect all she holds dear . . . including her own life.
**A Fowl Feast is volume 7 in the Hooked & Cooked Cozy Mystery Series. Lyndsey’s books can be read and enjoyed in any order.
Hannah and a co-worker are busy closing up the seafood snack shack for the season on the beach in Hooks Harbor when a stranger enters looking to place an order. Oops, they forgot to lock the door. He seems nice enough, not very talkative so they figure they have some clam chowder in the frig that they can heat it up for him. They try to talk and snoop about why he is there but he doesn't give much up. He sees that there are cabins there also and wants to rent one.
This book is about a secret that happened 10 years ago and now that this stranger is back in town after a 10 year stint in prison things are happening. Lots of surprises.
This is book 7 in the series and this is the first one that I have read but it did give a little back story. I will read more in this series.
This was an enjoyable edition to the Hooked and Cooked Mysteries. The story had so many characters that could have been the murderer that kept you guessing till the very end. And the characters were all so well done. The new guy was truly scary. But my favorite was Olivia with her excitement for life and her pet potbellied pig Petunia. The story did not drag and I did not get bored. I will be reading more of her books in the future.
Lyndsey Cole’s books are always enjoyable & this latest addition does not disappoint. There were plenty of red herrings to keep the story interesting. I love how the relationship between Hannah & Cal is growing & blooming. Little 6 yr old Olivia & her pet pig Petunia always makes me smile. I was captivated from beginning to end.
I really enjoy all of Lyndsey Cole's books. This one is full of action, suspense, fear, and murder. Hannah is spooked by a man who threatens her to get some help with finding some stolen money that he wants returned to him. Very interesting story. I loved this story.
Ready for a Thanksgiving mystery with lots of page turning intrigue. That's what you get in this wonderful story. Hannah and friends set out to solve a 10 year old mystery, that has everyone guessing, who killed a prominent resident's brother. If you enjoy cozy mysteries then this one is for you.
I love this series if your like me and love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that will keep you turning the page then Lyndsey Coles books are for you can't wait till the next one
This is the first time I've read this author and I enjoyed it very much and though its part of a series I was able to step right in the book and enjoy the characters and scenery. Plus, I m going to go find the previous books in series
I didn't like this one as much as previous books because it was predictable and characters were not formed well...author was in a hurry and did not develop story or characters.
Likeable characters, but fairly slow moving plot. Loved the secret involving Great Aunt Caroline. The who done it was well hidden, but slow in the reveal. I doubt I will go back to this series.
Very interesting and well-developed characters in this mystery. The book has light romance, interesting side plots, laughable moments and was an overall fun read.
