Helpless: A Novella in the Wyverton Series
After her husband’s death, Alicia focused all her energy on two things: owning the best bakery in Wyverton and help other people. When a kid shows at her door in need of help, she cannot help herself but take him to a friend for help. When she finally finds out the truth about this kid reality, Alicia has to decide what’s more important to her: helping this child and lose the only person who loves her or do nothing and live with the guilt forever.
John has the life he wants as a successful lawyer in Chicago, but when his mother gets sick, he decides to go back to Wyverton and help take care of her. When an old friend asks for his help on a lawsuit John cannot refuse, even if the last thing he wants is to see Alicia again. Being in touch with her revives old feelings and makes John question everything about the life he once thought he wanted. However, to be with Alicia, John must choose between his ambition to win at court or do what’s right.
