In Love Life Again , Tracie reminds readers they each get only one life to live and inspires them not to take it for granted. Through compelling personal stories and powerful insights from Scripture, she helps women identify the stumbling blocks to their joy and offers tools and insights to take back control of their happiness.
Every chapter ends with a practical call to action to motivate readers to begin loving their lives again. She also offers reflection questions, prayers, and creative ideas to help readers smile. Love Life Again helps readers learn how to live the abundant lives Jesus died for them to have, despite the circumstances they may face.

My life has been touched and changed by Tracie's previous books, especially Your Life Still Counts and Unsinkable Faith, so I was very excited to read her newest book, Love Life Again, Finding Joy When Life Is Hard. Of course this book is no different than the others!
In Love Life Again, Tracie Miles writes with transparency, vulnerability, and honesty. She shares how the life shattering devastation that she and her children experienced nearly destroyed her ability to love her life, and robbed her of being able to feel joy. But she realized that there is so much more to life, and that God doesn't want us to allow the things of this world to become our focus. He wants us to experience His peace, joy, and love in all we go through, the good times and the bad. He wants us to love the life He has given us right now. Tracie's Biblical wisdom is evident as she leads us to Scripture and points out how we can get through our own circumstances by trusting in God's promises when the enemy is fighting against us, and life becomes just plain hard!
When we face trials and the things in life that we feel may be robbing us of our joy and happiness, we have a choice. We can allow the hard things to do exactly that, or we can live the way God intended, by placing our hope in Jesus and allowing Him to lead us to a life that is filled with love, joy, hope and peace. When we trust in Jesus, He will show us how to Love Life Again!
Some of my favorite quotes from Love Life Again are;
"You can't change how you responded to yesterday, but you can change how you respond to tomorrow."
"The first step to loving life again is believing it is possible for you."
"The situations in your life may stay the same, but you do not have to live the same after today. You know who the enemy is; now stand up and fight."
"Forgiveness gave me a heart full of God, instead of anger and bitterness."
"Friend, forgive them - even if they haven't asked for it, don't deserve it, won't appreciate it, and may not recognize that they received it. Do it anyway - for you. Don't let unforgiveness stand between you and the ability to love your life. It may not happen overnight, but as you continue to ask God to help you forgive and let go of what hurt your heart, He will empower you."
Tracie has such a huge heart for wanting to help other women who may be going through the same things she has been through, or may be going through so many more of life's struggles. As you read this book you will feel like you are having a conversation with a good friend. You will find yourself nodding your head, saying, "Me too." Tracie was obedient to God, and wrote this book during what may have been one of the most trying times of her life.
At the end of each chapter you will find a section titled, "Love Your Life Challenge." In these sections there are;
Reflections Action Steps A Prayer Smile suggestions
There is also a Study Guide to go with this book. My book is so full of highlights and underlines after reading it the first time. I plan to go through the book again, taking more time to journal and use the Study Guide.
I highly recommend Love Life Again to anyone who has ever felt like the enemy is attacking, stealing your joy, and making you feel like there is no hope! You will be quickly reminded that we have a God who loves us so much, and He wants us to grow in our faith by drawing close to Him in our times of trial.
I give Tracie Miles and Love Life Again 5 stars!!!!!
*I was given an Advance Reading Copy of this book. No review was required. This is my honest and personal opinion of Love Life Again, by Tracie Miles!*
Reading this book by Tracie Miles is like sitting and talking with a trusted friend and saying, “You struggle with that? So do I.” I very much appreciated the author’s total honesty in each chapter. She’s open about mistakes she’s made. She shares her heartache and struggles through difficult times in her life. Through the pages of this book, she’s an excellent counselor with armed with Scripture and practical advice for our own difficult times. Each chapter ends with a “Love Your Life Challenge” that helps apply what we’ve just read. The challenge includes a section each of reflect-act-pray-smile. This book is a keeper. It would be an excellent choice for small group study or book club.
I may never be able to actually ever visit with Tracie Miles, but I’ve seen her heart for God and others in this book. I’ll be reading sections again when I need encouragement and comfort.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
I have been a caregiver for a medically fragile family member for the better part of a decade, and books like this one really help keep me grounded in what is most important. I listened to the audio version and the narration was good.
Encouraging and inspiring. When life takes turns we never expected, how do we handle our emotions? Do we give up? Complain in anger? Do we feel life will never be the same and we'll never be happy again? In this amazing book, author Tracie Miles shares personal examples and Biblical examples of times when joy was hard to find. Through each experience, there is opportunity to grow in faith and to lean on God. I have highlighted many passages in this book and will read again and again. I received an ARC of the book. This is my personal honest opinion. No review was required.
Tracie Miles shares personal stories, practical tips and Scriptural wisdom to help her readers push past pain to rediscover joy in their daily lives. As a woman who has experienced personal heartbreak and loss, Tracie shares how she fought to love her own life again with authenticity that is likable --- this book is Biblical, but not preachy. Tracie challenges her readers to reflect on their past, take action, pray through their problems, and fight for the sunshine and smile in their lives. I was so encouraged by her story and her wisdom and am delighted to recommend this book to anyone who is in the trenches of climbing out of a valley of sorrow and disappointment. Tracie will be your new best friend -- one who listens and understands and walks with you on hard days.
I received an Advance Reading Copy from the publisher. No review was required, and the thoughts express here are my personal opinion on this fabulous book.
No matter what season of life you are in - you can always choose to love life again! Loving life is a choice that we make daily as we live out our lives. Each chapter ends with practical ways we can start applying what we read to our lives as we journey down the path God has in store for us. An easy read that I couldn't put down and am anxious to read again!
***I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.***
It wasn't really relevant to my life right now, but I bought the book and read it because it was the latest Proverbs 31 online Bible study. The author does include some inspiring stories, both personal and others. She also includes practical advice and a few probing questions, as well as some fun suggestions at the end of each chapter to bring a smile to your face. Even if it didn't directly apply to my current life situation, it was worth taking the time to read.
I really enjoyed this book. So many aspects of my life are intersecting on this concept...I attended a new church today where the pastor talked about thankfulness being defined as...”thankfulness is attitude that perfectly displaces my sinful tendency to complain and thereby releases joy and blessing into my life.” I also joined a 90-day challenge recently where one of the daily activities is to come up with 10 things I am thankful for daily. I opened my book today to find the chapter on “Developing a Thankful Heart.” This is a book I will be holding onto going forward as it is good encouragement when times are rough.
This is the first book of Tracie Miles’ that I have read and was so excited! I’d heard so many great things from others about her other books!
“Love Life Again” was written with true transparency of her own life and struggles. She conveys truths in each chapter that are true reminders of who God is and who we are in Christ. A lot of her ways to live life to the fullest were ideas that can all circle back around to the main point that she tackles in Chapter 13 (in my opinion, the best chapter in the book).
She titled Chapter 13, “Reignite you faith.” Christ is truly the source of our joy, happiness, and love for life. As Miles points out throughout the book, our love for life is up to us - our choice. She says, and I agree, that “...if you truly want to live life again, you have to love Jesus first!”
She bases the book around John 10:10 and really stays tuned into the topic of living an abundant life in Christ. I also really enjoyed the “Love You Life Challenges” she has at the end of each chapter, along with a chance to reflect, act, pray, and Smile!
This book would be great for anyone struggling spiritually or going though difficult times or loss.

Love Life Again: Finding Joy When Life is Hard by Tracie Miles is a book that shows you just how to do this, how to love your life and find joy when life is hard. Tracie clearly lays out 13 ways the reader can do this devoting one chapter per action step. She uses some personal experiences as well as Scripture to share her wisdom in each chapter. If you have ever experienced the trial of an unexpected divorce or becoming an empty nester, you’ll resonate with some of Tracie’s story. The strength of this book is that it is clear and concise making it very easy to follow and understand. While the subject matter at hand seems heavy, the book reads rather lightly. However, the weakness of this book, for me as a reader, is the same as its strengths. It felt shallow at times. It left me wanting more. I longed to be taken more into Tracie’s world – to be shown more than told. I wanted my soul to stir with hers, whether it was breaking, healing, or rediscovering love or joy, but it didn’t. Make no mistake, if you have lost joy and the love for your life and long to have them return but don’t know how, this book will absolutely help give you practical and scripture based ways to do this. However, if you’re looking for a book to connect with and be drawn into, if you love good story-telling, this might not be the book for you. While this book isn’t powerfully written, its truths are powerful. The most beneficial aspect of this book that I tremendously appreciated were the “Love Your Life Challenges” at the end of each chapter that offered prayer, questions for reflection, and suggestions for practical actions to help you love your life again. The final chapter summarizes her 13 points in two pages and honestly, I could have just read these pages and flipped to the challenges at the end of the chapters. While this isn’t a book that wooed me or moved me spiritually, I do believe this book will be helpful to anyone who is looking to do as the title suggest.
What I loved about Tracie Miles' book, "Love Life Again", is her honest transparency without getting mired down in self-pity. It is obvious that this book was written out of an "I've been there" response to show us that we, too, can find joy in our circumstances. Because someone else has lived a life different from what she envisioned and has found a way to love the life she is living, so can we.
While Miles shares from her experiences, she doesn't give us a to-do or don't do list. However, "Love Life Again" does involve action on our part to fully grasp how to change our mindset.
My recommendation is for you to read through the book, then return and spend 13 weeks on each chapter, taking your time, answering the questions, journaling and praying. That is how you will receive the most benefit and will find your joy again.
If you are waiting for your circumstances to change before you delight in your life, you may be waiting a long time. God doesn't want us to waste our time getting bogged down in the world. He wants us to experience joy and love our life right now.

This was the first book I had ever read of Tracie Miles and I truly enjoyed it. I felt as though I was sitting with a friend, talking about our struggles. What I also liked is how she used her own examples and also examples from the bible on how we can move on from struggles in life.

From the title I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but Tracie Miles takes the reader on a great journey to discover how to live life joyfully irrespective of the situation and I really enjoyed it. I have been through hard times (as most of us have) and I think this book is a great encouragement and road map to finding a place of loving life.
I found it an easy read and one with a sense of authenticity, I just zoomed through the book feeling connected to Tracie Miles and experiences she shared.
The chapters themselves are 13 practical ways to live a life you love and at the end of each are the live life challenges which are in four sections: reflect, act, pray, smile. Some of my favourite thoughts are tucked into one of these such as:
“Smile: Spend some time outside enjoying nature. Let the sunshine warm your skin…”
“Act: …If you need to forgive yourself…do the following…”
Tracie makes sure to give the reader something to do differently today!
It is structured to encourage the reader to strive for more than survival which becomes a goal when one is through the initial crisis. I really enjoyed it, though I haven’t had a recent crisis, as I reflected where I could continue to stretch myself but would have loved it at other points in my life when I searched for a guide on how to find that joy.
Tracie states intellectual statistics and biblical wisdom to support each of her 13 practices and breaks down each of those practices into four steps the reader can do today. The accompanying narratives inspire and encourage. Tracie’s own journey, which is great, is supported with other women’s journeys so the reader is shown the way forward and the success of the journey.
I was inspired by lines like the following:
“When was the last time you felt joyful about your life? Regardless of what may be breaking your heart and stealing your ability to feel happy and joyful, God’s desire is for you to delight in the life He is allowing you to live, starting today.”
These two were such simple, practical ways to shift my mindset:
“I began to do my best to maintain this attitude of expectant faith, and it became a determining factor in my ability to stress less about the present and the future and to trust God with all of it. My faith and attitude drastically changed simply because I began expectantly and excitedly waiting to see how God would protect and provide not if He would.”
“Ask God to help you see through love-coloured glasses so that your eyes will see what He sees and your heart will break for what breaks His”
Other favourite lines include:
“Some days I even spoke out loud when I started thinking sad, discouraged, hopeless, and critical thoughts about myself.”
“None of us is perfect, but every one of us is fearfully and wonderfully made, created on purpose with purpose and for purpose”
“Peace and joy cannot reside where shame, regret and guilt are living. Fortunately, we get to choose which of these feelings lives in our heart.
“My gratitude changed from being gift-centered gratitude to God-centered gratitude.”
“Helping others is a privilege, not just a responsibility and with privilege comes great joy”
Tracie has taken a topic often spoken about and sought after and broken it down into liveable steps, inspiring stories and created a book to change lives. Her insights are sharp and biblically based. The book is a swift and easy read with the conversational tone carrying the reader through tough topics. I really enjoyed it, five out of five and highly recommended!
Rarely do I read a book from beginning to end in one sitting. Oftentimes, I read a few chapters then start scanning for the main message. But Tracie’s writing commanded my attention from the Acknowledgements through the Conclusion and the stories in between really tugged at my heartstrings.
Bible verses are intertwined into each scene shared from Tracie’s life in every chapter. A “Love Your Life Challenge” wraps up each chapter, complete with an imperative written in bold font followed by a reflection question which leads to a call to action, leading to a prayer written by Tracie for the reader and concluded by a short list of activities you can do to make you smile.
As an author, Tracie is very transparent in how she shares her heart. She’s unafraid to take you behind the scenes of her life from her dealing with the aftermath of her divorce, to a teachable moment on self-esteem that she shared with her daughter, to talking about a time when she was driving on the road and she felt God call her minister to a pregnant woman who was considered by most as what the Bible calls “the least of these”. Tracie also shares stories of other women that she’s known along the way.
Each story that Tracie shares is touching and teaches a life lesson to the reader. Her writing style is warm in the midst of her personal heartache, informative like a news reporter, kind like the heart of a minister, and seasoned like a veteran creative storyteller.
As a woman of faith, Tracie does not leave Jesus Christ out of the picture. She weaves in themes of salvation, hope, and healing throughout the book! It was delightful and very encouraging to my heart because she reminded me that God is with me no matter what I go through in this life. There’s always hope for your heart when He is in the picture…and the good news is, God I always in the picture. The Bible says that He will never leave you or forsake you even in your deepest despair.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! Not only because it was hard to put down but because I related to so much of it. This book is well-deserving of a five-star rating and I’ve already thought of two people that I believe will benefit from reading it. Well, done Ms. Miles. Bravo!
*I, (Alexis A. Goring), received a complimentary copy of this book (Love Life Again: Finding Joy When Life is Hard) from the author’s publisher for me to read. My opinions in this book review are my own.
In this book, Tracie Miles takes on her personal journey about her personal experiences and how she overcame some obstacles life threw at her. She takes us on this journey and how she reflects on how God carried her and provided in unexpected ways. This book help those in different hard-life situations. This book takes encouraging scriptures that will fill you with understanding and peace about life. This book will give you hope, through the Bible and how to come closer to God and trust him in every hardship in life. Tracie uses very powerful and adequate quotes that will make you really think and get you encouraged that God is always present in our lives and nothing happens by coincidence -as she expresses everything is God-incidences.
Some of the quotes that encouraged me the MOST are the following: - "You do not have to stay stuck in a life of unhappiness. You do not have to let your circumstances or other people dictate your ability to feel joy. You do not have to let discontentment poison your heart and mind and blind you to the wonderful life God has given you....You know who the enemy is; now stand up and fight." - "Loving life is a choice, not a by-product of everything going our way. The choice to love life is ours, and our peace, joy, contentment, fulfillment, and overall happiness depend on the choice we make." - " Regardless of the reason why you don't feel valuable or worthy, it is a flat-out lie. God's Word says otherwise, and His Word is true. End of story. if only we believed in our core that we have great value in God's eyes!" - "Forgiving ourselves means letting go of guilt and shame and embracing God's grace so He can restore our hearts and minds. It's critical for us to forgive ourselves if we want to enjoy life again." - "Forgiveness was more than uttering words but actually letting it change me from the inside out." - "Forgiveness is a sign not of weakness but of strength." - "Forgiveness is not always easy to give, and it cant be done in our own strength, but it can be done in God's strength." - "When life is hard, we must fight for joy."
Each chapter ends with a reflection, an "act" plan and a prayer. "love life again" by Tracie Miles, will give you courage to trust God in the midst of your situation, if we open our hearts to Him. Highly recommended!
**Disclaimer: I was given an advance reading copy (ARC) in lieu of an honest review. All opinions are my own**
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is all about learning how to enjoy your life and embrace contentment despite your circumstances. And for the record, it couldn't have come at a better time in my life.
Although several of the concepts that Tracie shares are things that I've heard before, she gives practical ways of putting them into practice. In the chapter titled, "Conquer Loneliness," the author shares about how David in the Bible conquered loneliness by focusing on "the One who is present with us" and praying for a more intimate relationship with Him. In "Accept Forgiveness," Tracie says, "You can choose which voice you listen to. The deceiver may always seem louder, but only One speaks truth: you are a precious child of God." In "Embrace Contentment," she says, "The life you are living today, and all it includes or doesn't include is the life God has given you. It is the life you are supposed to love, despite what it might look like. It is the only life you have and the only life you are going to get. You can make the most of it and live it abundantly, or you can let life pass you by as you allow problems or drudgery to steal your zest for living. You can choose to be content and joyful, or you can choose to be disgruntled and sad."
That's what this book came down to for me. We have a choice.
And when I describe this book to other people, that's what I will say. Love Life Again reminded me that I can choose to embrace the life God has given me-disappointments, suffering and all- and live an abundant life or I can choose discontentment, despair, and focusing on all of the things that I can't change and stay miserable.
I hope you will choose to read this book because I sure am glad I did.
Disclosure: I received an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of “Love Life Again” by Tracie Miles to help facilitate this review. However, all opinions stated here are mine alone and are in no way influenced by comp products.
This was an encouraging and quick read. Normally with a book like this I find myself highlighting half of it; with this, I did this only three times. But the three times spoke to what I’m currently struggling with and encapsulated so much of the book’s message so I think it’s a compliment to Tracie Miles’ ability to keep it simple and focus on what’s most crucial when it feels like you’ve lost some of your joy.
I do wish however that there had been more concrete examples, more Scripture, and more practical advice. It felt a bit thin and repetitive.
That said, this is one of the best pieces of advice I’ve had in awhile, simple but powerful:
“We often sit around and wait for God to answer our prayers, rather than being willing to take a leap of faith and be instrumental in having those prayers answered. We don’t want to move outside our comfort zones, even if good things might come of it. We do the same things we’ve always done, expecting God to miraculously create a different result... sometimes God moves only when we move. Stepping out in faith invites God to step in.”
This is what I needed!
I’d have given it 5 stars if it had felt less repetitive and more structured, with solid examples from Scripture and the author’s life. She is honest and genuine about her own struggles that prompted this book, but I wish she had focused more on specifics, because I find the more specific a book is, the more applicable and relatable it is. It felt like she shied away from focus on herself too much, but I think that’s how we learn best, not just from quoting Scriptures and suggesting we try harder.
Regardless, I’d recommend this book for anyone who’s become too focused on their problems and has lost sight of the bigger picture.
I am so glad that I came across this book, especially at the time that I did. I am overcoming a very bad breakup that has shaken my life to it's core. For a long time, I have been struggling feeling like I have no purpose, all I felt was depression and pain. But this book helped pick me up and turn me around. I see how amazing my life really is and all the blessings I have. She tells of the family living in Equador with dirt floors and no clothes, toys and shoes, but they are so thankful and thank God all the time for all they have. Yet we have so much here in America but can take it all for granted. Just the fact that I have clothes, shoes, and toys for my kids, food on the table, shelter from the cold, etc., is enough to feel like I am so rich. This book helps us understand to be content no matter what is happening in our lives because we have the One who takes care of us looking over us. I couldn't recommend this book enough for anyone struggling with depression or just needing a little help being thankful for their life. Each chapter has some action steps at the end for you to pray and act on to help you not just read the book, but also apply it to your life.
I also love that this book was written by a woman who went through a divorce after many years of being with her husband. This shows me that she understands true pain and that the words of her book do help. Sometimes it can be a little annoying to listen to advice from someone who has no idea at all what you're going through.
There is also a Bible Study on Proverbs 31 ministries to do along with this book that was incredibly helpful.
I’ve enjoyed other books by Miles in the past, so I was excited to read her latest. This book is so encouraging and inspiring! Life rarely goes as planned, and it’s easy to want to give up, complain, etc. We may question whether or not it’s possible to be happy again, and that’s what Miles addresses in Love Life Again.
Miles uses numerous personal experiences and Bible verses to demonstrate that it is possible to be happy, even when life’s circumstances are less than ideal. There is a lot to digest in this book. I have numerous highlights, and it’s something I’ll go back to again and again. Some points may not be easy to tackle, but they’re necessary, and Miles addresses things in a manner that makes you feel like you’re talking to and getting advice from a good friend. I particularly enjoyed the chapter “Stop Stressing Over the Future,” in which she explains the difference between worry and concern. If you spend your days consumed with anxieyy and fear, this is a book you should read.
Each chapter ends with a summary of the life challenge, as well as a takeaway point to reflect on, a step for you to act on, a prayer, and an idea to help you smile.
Some of my favorite quotes:
• “The first step to loving life again is believing it is possible for you.” • “Life is precious. Our days are numbered. When we keep this in mind, it can motivate us to fight the enemy and live every day to the fullest.” • “Always remember that our troubles are not permanent. They too shall pass. But joy helps us keep going until they do.” • “Prayer doesn’t immediately solve all our problems, but it does invite God’s peace to fill our hearts.” • “Surrender your burdens and stop trying to fix everything on your own or wishing that you could. Refocus on trusting the only One who actually can fix everything that is broken.”
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.
I loved this book and was so engaged from the first words I read. I love this quote from Tracie “Ever heard the term man up? The Term ‘God Up’, means to do exactly the same thing but in the name of Jesus Christ”. A Bible verse she references, one of my faves; 2 Corinthians 12:10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Tracie shares true life struggles in each chapter from herself and others. Struggles that affect so many of us and lead to discouragement and brokenness. But with God, and our hope in Jesus Christ we can lead a life that is filled with love and joy as God intended for us. I love also that at the end of each chapter Tracie gives you a LOVE YOUR LIFE CHALLENGE and gives you little nuggets to: Reflect, Act, Pray and Smile. There are 13 in all. I love the honest and heartfelt testimony that Tracie shares. You can just feel her grow through the book and regain her home and joy in Christ. This book will give you the tools, reminding you of God’s overwhelming love for you and help you through your trials to regain your joy and learn how to ‘LOVE LIFE AGAIN’!
In the introduction of Love Life Again Tracie Miles tells readers that "Today can be the first day of the rest of your abundant, joy-filled life" and the last words are "Seize today. Let it be the first day of the rest of your very own joy-filled, dearly loved amazing life." What is sandwiched in the pages between these statements is an encouraging and inspirational book that is filled with her own personal experiences and an abundant use of relatable Bible scripture. There are thirteen chapters that offer steps and tips to help us "find joy when life is hard" and each of the thirteen chapters end with a challenge. These challenges are meant to help further our understanding of what we have just read as the author instructs us to Reflect--Act--Pray--Smile.
After reading this book I am reminded once again that the life that I have been given has passed very quickly and that it will soon be over. I can choose for the remainder of my days to be filled with unhappiness and discontent or I can seek joy and elect to love my life again. My attitude can determine how I will spend the rest of my days.
I voluntarily chose to accept and review an Advanced Reading Copy of this book and these are my honest opinions.
I can’t think of anyone who hasn’t encountered some difficult circumstance or season in their life. In Love Life Again: Finding Joy When Life is Hard, Tracie Miles offers a different perspective on life for the person struggling. She walks the reader through many aspects of looking to enjoy the life you have even if it is not the life you hoped for. This is not a list of tips and tricks, although each chapter does end with a challenge, questions to reflect on, an action item, a prayer, and an invitation to smile.
Tracie comes alongside you as a friend, one who has experienced the depths of desperation herself. She encourages you to recognize Satan as the enemy and to fight back by drawing closer to God. She shares the importance of loving and valuing yourself and reaching out to help others. She advocates forgiving yourself, if needed, and forgiving those who have wronged you. As you work through the book, Tracie will help you focus on God and the people God puts in your path. She will show you how to turn complaining into praising and convert stressful thinking into thankfulness. Tracie Miles is not offering an instant remedy, but she is sharing a road to contentment through faith in Christ and by drawing close to his sheltering love.
Have you ever felt like you needed to just let go? When you pick up this book, Love Life Again, you’ll be challenged and approached with that very idea. The author, Tracie Miles, gets real with you as you read. She puts real life circumstances to scripture and gives thought provoking questions to help you dig deep into your feelings. She tries to get down to the root of the reason why you feel the way that you do. Get a pen and paper ready so you are able to take notes as you go along.
This is a great book that I feel everyone should read no matter what season you are going through. If you are able to, make sure you take the time to take notes. Let this book sink deep into your soul while you read and reflect on your life as a whole. When you dive in, you might feel some emotions just pour out as you read. I feel this is a book that is well worth reading and will bring a breath of fresh air to your life.
Please note: I have received an advanced reading copy of this book from the author Tracie Miles and the publisher David C Cook. The opinions I have expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a positive review.
After 25 years of marriage, Tracie’s husband unexpectedly walked away from his roles as husband and father. Tracie was devastated by the shock and entered a dark period of overwhelming grief. However, since her faith was strong, she turned to God for help and learned how to truly love life again despite the pain. She shares her hard-earned wisdom, along with the wise stories of other trial-tested women, in this inspiring and helpful book.
All of Tracie’s books have revolutionized my attitude. She has taught me to handle stress better, value myself the way God does, and change my negative thought patterns with her previous books. In this book she has taught me how to choose joy in the midst of my trials. Of all her books, I believe Love Life Again has the greatest potential to help a woman in crisis.
Maybe you are that woman in the middle of a crisis. Perhaps you know a woman going through a fiery trial right now. This book will point you or your friend to Jesus and give you great tips for managing your sorrow and stress.
Thanks to the publisher David C. Cook for a preview copy of this wonderful book.
“Love Life Again” by Tracie Miles is a great read! Tracie Miles shows us how to enjoy life. I tend to be the glass is half empty-type person, so this was a wonderful book for me. Sometimes I forget to enjoy life. I needed her reminders in my life!
Tracie shares true stories throughout this book, which I love. There are thirteen chapters with lots of practical advice and a challenge at the end of each chapter. I have lots of highlighter throughout this book as Tracie had so many great quotes!
One of my favorite quotes she stated was, “Loving life is a choice, not a by-product of everything going our way. The choice to love life is ours, and our peace, joy, contentment, fulfillment and overall happiness depend on the choice we make.” (p. 35).
This was the first book I’ve read by Tracie Miles, but it definitely won’t be my last! I can’t wait to read more by her. I definitely recommend this book. It’s a very encouraging read!
I received this book from Tracie Miles for my honest opinion.
4.5 stars ⭐️ Tracie writes this book out of a lot of love and really wanting to help other women Live happier lives. I thought everything I read spoke true to me in what I have gone through. A year ago, it and her first book, would have been life-savers. I got a year to come to a lot of these solutions on my own :) but I loved reading her book with proverbs 31 ministries.
Favorite pages: 11- Had I been a good role model for living out the truths (of having a positive mind-set and living a an optimistic, joy-filled life in good times and in bad?)? Had I lived as if I truly loved my life?
47 - an acute awareness of my thoughts so that each time I started condemning myself, believing something that was not true according to God's Word, I could recognize the lie, reject it, and replace it with something true about myself instead.
Loved the focus on John 10:10 "I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of."
"Choosing to love my life even though it wasn't the life I wanted or had imagined, was the best choice I ever made."
Chapters: Embrace Contentment, Recognize Your Value, Love Yourself, Accept Forgiveness, Forgive and Forget, Conquer Loneliness, Be a Friend, Laugh More, Turn Complaining into Praising, Stop Stressing over the Future, Develop a Thankful Heart, Be the Answer to Someone's Prayer, Reignite Your Faith
This book is very practical and inspiring. It feels like every of the 13 chapters was handpicked as to what to focus on- and it hits the nail every time by addressing some of the key issues many of us may face in our daily lives, and especially if we are going through tough seasons. It's easy flowing, so often it's easy to read several chapters in one go (and I am not big on reading :) ). I am sure dedicated readers can get thru this book in 1-2 days. The book is filled with good wise reflections, that are based on Tracie's personal experience and growth. Each chapter also has wrap up pointers, suggestions to try and a prayer relevant to the topic discussed in the chapter. The book inspired me to try quite a few things in terms of thinking and doing. I've marked some pages and regularly glance back at them to refresh my mind. Maybe of her points will truly helps us live our lives better instead of getting sucked in by the problems and issues of the present circumstances.
