Christmas Magic is changing and the Kringle Family scrambles to keep up in this fun and entertaining, sweet Christmas romance from Author Lucy McConnell.
A normal electrical substation takes two years to build; but, Lux has 365 days to install one at the North Pole or Christmas Magic will overload the factory and send them back to the Dark Ages.
The one man on the planet with the know-how, the education, and the time to help Lux finish the substation before her Noel deadline, is also the one man who sends sparks through her heart and surges through the power system.
If Lux kisses Matthew Quik—again!—she could blow up Santa’s workshop before she has a chance to save it. If she doesn't kiss him, she may lose him forever.
With that in mind, she's written over 200 novels full of fun and flirty characters who navigate the turbulent waters of romance with open hearts and creativity.

The Christmas magic is still in a state of flux up at the North Pole and Kringle sister Lux, the engineering expert in the family, is working on a power station to control it. She’s enlisting the help of Quick, the engineer from Alaska who was briefly introduced in book one of the series. These two had sparks at the start! My favorite scenes were the ones with Dasher the reindeer. So funny! When Quick’s past catches up to him, he and Lux will have to make some life altering changes. I’m enjoying this series and will be interested to see which sister is paired up next!
Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.
I love this series! What happens when Santa has five daughters instead of the usual son? Christmas magic goes haywire! To keep Christmas magic alive, each daughter has to find true love. Lux is the second book in the series (but they can be read independently).
Lux is not concerned with true love. She needs to build a substation to harness all of the energy, and even out the energy spikes.
I loved the nerd jokes, the Christmas curses (peanut butter fudge!), the magic, and the sparks between Lux and Quik.
I can’t wait for the rest of the sisters’ stories, and only hope that I don’t have to wait another year for the next one!
Aw! This was the perfect story for this Christmas season. Christmas magic was swirling and crackling between Lux and Quick. I loved the story and I love the idea behind this series. So fun! Clean romance.
Lux has the brainpower of a supercomputer, but simply by the fact that she’s a Kringle, she’s also a natural-born dreamer. Quik has the intellect and the geek street cred to keep up with her, but life has taught him some hard-won lessons about how powerless dreams can be sometimes. Can these two help each other find some much-needed Christmas miracles in time? Will they figure out how to harness the Christmas magic to keep the North Pole running smoothly? And, can Lux teach Quik how to dream and believe in those dreams again? I loved all the little geeky pop culture inside jokes that fill this book. I also loved watching these two come together as a team and learn to support and trust in one another. I can’t wait to read more about the rest of the Kringle family.
I read this book via an Amazon-US KINDLE Unlimited download.
Egads. Santa in this series of stories has five daughters instead of the prerequisite son needed to keep the spirit of Christmas living in the hearts and minds of people, especially children.
The result of this change in the Santa bloodline has created a crack in the space time conidium, causing it to go out of sync. However, there’s a relatively simple solution to this ado so that Christmas can continue the way it has for so long.
The solution is easier said than done, each of Santa’s daughters must love in love and get married, but not at one time. Beginning the day after Christmas, one of his daughters gets chosen as the one who’ll wear the red suit next, and from the moment the Christmas Eve clock starts ticking, this daughter must fulfill the required marriage quest or the magic of the holiday will be lost forever. And this year, this task falls upon the shoulders of Lux to undertake and successfully complete.
However, as the book description states: “But, there’s a snag. If they get married too quickly, they’ll flood the system with too much magic and fry the electrical system which powers everything from the toy making machines to the candy ovens.”
While Lux has been able to find a guy [Matthew Quik] who she seems to be attracted to, the one guy who with his expertise knowledge can help her complete her task of building a power substation for Santa’s toy-making complex within the timeframe she’s been given [before Christmas Eve].
If you’ve ever been kissed and had that electrifying feeling coursing through your body, then you’ll know the problem which exists between these two lovers, a feeling which also occurs when they’re near each other. Because of this, Lux can’t risk destroying everything which has been done in completing the required power substation, by giving her wonderful guy a kiss before his work has been completed.
Does Lux possess the will power to resist showing her affection toward Matthew? Will the substation be completed on time? But, most important, will she be able to marry this guy before the required Christmas Eve deadline, and prevent the loss of the magic of the holiday forever?
For getting me in the mood for Christmas, and the romantic aspect of this holiday even before Thanksgiving, I’m happy to give Ms. McConnell the 5 STARS I’ve given her book.
A chaotic, Christmas holiday romance. Santa's North Pole operations continue to be in jeopardy. Lux Kringle must find a method to keep the power fluxes in check. Matthew Quik, a former military scientist, is the only person she knows who might be able to help. A fake marriage allows him to venture onsite.
Insecurity, mistrust, and miscommunication play roles in slowing down their growing attraction. Lucy McConnell does a fantastic job of keeping the excitement flowing. Power spikes and calamities are standard fare. The end is sweet.
Nothing worse than electrical problems at Christmas. Electrical surges are a problem that Lux can not seem to fix on her own. She knows who can help her but that would require to to go back to Clearview, Alaska where she met Quik when Ginger and Joseph were getting married. Quik had his own problems to worry about, like somebody looking for him who would do bodily harm to him. Lux also had to convince him to marry her before heading back to the North Pole. This is yet another great book in this Merry Miss Kringle series.
Book two is just as scrumptious as book one. I love the girl power in this series!
Lux has to convince Quik to believe in her and magic without giving herself away and before her home explodes. When their kiss creates a huge electrical surge, they elope to hide from the U. S. military. Without love in the mix, her parents are less than pleased. Christmas Magic is very upset with Quik. Can they work fast enough to save Christmas? ~
4.5 stars This story was so different from the first one that I was surprised. It has a whole intrigue/danger element to it that I just wasn't expecting added to the romance. I did enjoy the book and I love the premise of this series. It is a rather unique look at the North Pole. I took off a half star because a lot of the romance angst could have been avoided by having a conversation and I really couldn't figure out why they couldn't just voice it. The story is enjoyable and I loved reading a Christmas story and even though it is only November it made me feel all Christmasy.
I’m so glad to have stumbled across this series. I loved the second book as much as the first. It’s all the whimsical Christmas feels this book delivers with the Kringle family, the North Pole and all of Santa’s daughters’ love stories. I did at first have a bit of trouble following along since Lux is the more “geek” of the five sisters and is way smarter than I can ever be, but I enjoyed this nonetheless.
Quik and Lux's story begins in Ginger and Joseph's story they work together to get the lighting up and running for the Christmas Pageant. They work so well together, they are on each others mind. Lux needs help with her Christmas substation for the North Pole. She decides to ask Quik for his help, but he has a secret that could put everyone he loves in danger or get him killed. So much romance, fun, twists and turns. Great Christmas Read!
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Lux must build an electrical substation in order to keep Christmas and its preparations going. She is stumped and needs help so goes to Matthew Quick for assistance. When she needs to bring him to the North Pole they elope which helps him evade parties who want to kill him. A great story of growing love and communication.
This is a cute Christmas series but this particular book could have used another round of edits. If you don’t mind misspelled words scattered throughout, the storyline is a good one. Lux needs Quik’s help and Quik needs a place to hide out. Will a marriage of convenience save Christmas?
Lux and Matthew Quik have been on their own wild ride since they first met, and that includes rides with Dunder in the harness. There is just so much love and a myriad of adventures in their relationship. It's a fun, heartwarming story, just like the rest of this series by this author. Now to binge read the next book on the Kringle sisters.
I'm liking this series. I think the Christmas swear words are hilarious!
I liked the mystery of Quik's past, but I also felt the build up to the final climax with the sub station could have had more oomph. We spent all this time waiting for that to be built so sparks could fly, and I felt I needed more sparks! haha.
Great addition to the Marrting Miss Kringle series. Lux and Matthew make a wonderful couple. Saving Christmas Magic is a great cause to bring them together. I would recommend this story to any reader that enjoys clean Christmas romances.
This is the first book I've read in this series. It is super cute! I loved the name Lux & her husband Quik. It is a different take on Christmas & what has to be done to save it. I think they would make more sense read in order. I was able to listen to it on the author's Utube channel.
What an electrifying story. LUZ and Quik were simply sizzling with energy. Their story really Jumpstart the second book in this series with electrifying chemistry.
Communication is key but being a geek throws a wrench in the works. They have a deadline to meet and external forces to overcome. Can they save Christmas?
Wonderful series! It really gets you into the Christmas spirit! I have loved every book that Lucy McConnell has written that I have read and she has become one of my favorite authors.
Enjoyed this immensely! But it didn’t hit quite the same high notes as book one. I not sure I believe that Lux and Quik actually worked through the issues keeping them apart/their philosophical differences. The Kringle sisters books are great fun this time of year and I’ll happily continue reading the series. And while I liked reading Lux’s story… I don’t think it’s one I would care to read again.
It was hoped by all the Kringles that Ginger and Joseph’s marriage would solve the problems that have been experienced with Christmas Magic lately. It’s a start but it’s not the entire solution. For Santa has other daughters to find husbands, and all that power invoked by their romantic encounters will blow the North Pole operations sky high. Lux has to come up with a solution, and she has… sorta kinda. She needs the help of one man who, considering how their one kiss sparked things up, probably isn’t the man she should be wanting to spend time with for this particular problem. But tell that to her heart, and that organ is convincing her brain to take the chance – now she simply has to get Matthew to agree to help build the substation, and that is not going to be easy.
Marrying Miss Kringle: Lux is a funny, tender, magical adventure into the sparkles of Christmas Magic and the sparks of human love. Both are pretty powerful things. We met Quik (Matthew) in the previous story and it would be safe to assume that he is a wild, mountain man who avoids people like the plague. Well, we should know by now not to make assumptions. There is a very good reason that Matthew is hiding out in the wilds surrounding the small town of Clearview, Alaska. He’s hiding for his life. Matthew is far from the loner we met, he’s a top class engineer with super intelligent capabilities – and he is exactly what Lux needs, in more ways than one.
Lux and Matthew’s romance is rocky indeed. Matthew makes so many blunders – I mean, when you can make Santa fume that’s something. What Matthew doesn’t realize is that his brushing off of anything Christmas Magical, including Lux and her abilities, he’s wounding her deeply – and setting himself up for heartache. It will take some magic called love to solve this couple’s problem – then they have to work on the substation.
I had such fun with this story. If you love Santa romances then this is a story you will enjoy. Just enough romance, a sprinkling of magic and a satisfying story. If you haven’t picked up the first story then I’d recommend Marrying Miss Kringle: Ginger as well.
