“I wasn’t weak. I wasn’t afraid. I wouldn’t give up.”
What can I possibly say about this book without spoiling it???!! Cornered picks up right where the last book left off and takes you on a thrilling and heart pounding ride. Told from multiple points of view, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you quickly burning through the pages. Cornered is fast-paced, thrilling, with a little danger and just the right amount of romance to keep you begging for more. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and have my fingers crossed that this won’t be the last we see of these characters!
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Ok. I so need more. This is different from the other books I'm use to from this author. It's still a great story none the less. Book 3 needs to be out tomorrow lol. Kayla and Mason are awesome. I love those two. I recommend this book to everyone. Happy reading!
This book had a very good plot. I love these types of dystopian series. It also had a good pace. However, when you dig beyond the surface and ask simple questions it loses all credibility. This is a world where they're are very few women (why?) and even fewer pregnancies, and there is a medical-like place called Central that aims to solve this problem. Therefore, I couldn't understand why there weren't more doctors around in Central. I thought the women would be surrounded and constantly tested and that a bigger deal would be made. I also thought security would be a lot tighter. How easy and convenient was everything?
I was disappointed to learn that there were two extra characters narrating this book. Quinn was kind of 1-dimentional and that dimension was just worrying, mostly about Bailey. Kayla was the same. I'm sick of hearing about Bailey already. I also couldn't warm to Maverick. Similarly to book 1, the author skipped over a whole lot of character and relationship development. Maverick's first appearance (through Quinn's eyes) made him out to be really creepy and unlikeable, so then to suddenly have him be a love interest for Quinn was too weird. I never really liked him. Kayla was so stupid at the beginning of this book. She goes off to save Quinn and Bailey all by herself (because that makes sense) and totally messed up the whole plan and included more people in her problem. Then we have Bailey. How old is that baby? Or maybe she isn't a baby. Following the timeline and descriptions in book 1, I definitely thought she was less than a year old, and in this book she seemed like a fully grown toddler. I just found it super strange that her age was never mentioned. It was also strange that the girls from the club in book 1 were never mentioned.
The most baffling part of this book though was the end. Throughout the book we got so many convoluted conversations that were just riddles and wastes of page space. So frustrating. It all led to this crazy ending that actually made me laugh. Less is more in this world and the author is adding too many crazy elements to the plot. We have this whole memory thing, and is there some prophecy? Then we have Kayla make some realisation in the end that was so obvious from about 1/3 into the book. I'm surprised it took her that long to figure it out. So ya, there are parts of this book that are good and could be great, but it's just let down by all the issues I outlined.
Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Cornered, Book Two in Corded Saga picks up right where she left us with her epic cliffhanger in Corded. Now you absolutely must read book one, Corded in order to follow Ivy’s storyline with Kayla, Mason, Quinn and Bailey.
In Cornered, Ivy continues to wow us with Kayla’s mission to free her sister and daughter from the captivity of the infamous Central. Not only does she wow us with Kayla and Mason’s POV, Ivy also brings her sister to life with her take on everything that’s happened since the farm. It’s face paced, edge of your seat, wonderful ride that you won’t regret one clicking. I can’t wait to see what is next on Ivy’s agenda!
This is the 2nd book in a really good series! The story starts off right after the ending of book one and is told in multiple POV's. I really felt like I could picture what a world with so few women would be like. The love Kayla has for her family is her driving force and that is very relatable. Mason being changed by the love he feels for someone else is endearing and the fear Quinn has for the safety of her daughter is heart wrenching. You won't be disappointed in this book. I can't wait to find out what happens in book 3.
I freaking love this new version of Alyssa’s imagination. The world she created here is simply amazing. I am a big fan of dystopian stories and this one lands among one of my favourites.
I love that you have so many what ifs and you never know which one will be the one!
You won’t be disappointed in any part of this series. Kayla and Mason are amazing. I just love them both. Their characters are so well developed that it’s easy to believe they are real.
Wow. Just Wow. I loved Corded and have anxiously awaiting the release of Cornered and I was not disappointed at all! The second book in the corded series picks up where the first book ended and it kept up the fast pace throughout. Our characters Kayla and Mason are so relatable and that made me fall in love with them all the more. I highly recommend giving this series a chance, especially this second book. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and left me desperate for more. I can't wait for the next book. Run, do not walk to buy this book now!!
So this is the 2nd book in corded series and to tell u the truth I liked the first one but not loved it was an interesting concept and that is why I decided to give this book a chance. This book was fast moving but not many answers till very end which was fine. Pretty sure there will be a 3rd book. Quinn and Bailey r rescued and mason and Kayla are still in love and he has to leave to take on a new kind of fight in this new adventure while she hangs back. Everything they have known is now questionable

I absolutely love this series so far. It’s a “what if” type of story and gets you to use your imagination, which is something I love to do. It’s a little harsh at times but it goes along with the “what if” situation. Just when you think you have it figured out, a little twist thrown in. Love the characters. They are a well rounded bunch. I am anxiously waiting for the next book to see how things turn out.
This book started off running & never stopped. And the end...... Oh. Em. Gee. Talk about wanting more!! This series has surprised me, because I almost didn't finish book 1 because it's outside my usual genre, but I plugged along & once the second half hit, regular genre or not, I was hooked, and also reaffirmed as to why Alyssa Rose Ivy is in my top 5 favorite authors. You knocked this one outta the park!!
Wow so good!! It continues where it lefts off on the first book and takes us on a roller coaster! We get to meet new characters connect to Mason and his past gets reveal. Kyla gets to finally search for her sister niece. Its a beautiful reunion but short lived because time is running out for the girls. They want to use them for breeding and save humanity. hoping for a third book since it leaves in a cliffhanger!
Mason always has Kayla on his mind, “you never ask to ask me.” I turned so I was looking at her more than the lake. The water was pretty, but it held no comparison to Kayla’s beauty." Mason loved to lighten the mood by busting his lady's balls, “Are you suggesting being intimate with me is strange?” I ran my hands through her hair." I'm eager for the next book. I really loved this book.
I love the addition of other POVs in this book. I love how capable and strong Kayla and Quinn are. Mason is sexier than ever. I need to see some Maverick and Quinn action like now please! I can't wait for book 3.
I love alyssa rose ivy. Her characters evoke so much emotion and feelings towards each other. I love the storyline and the idea of a world with few women. I cannot wait for the third one! The end leaves on a huge cliffhanger!
The book was fantastic but I wish for a happy official ending for Mason and Kayla they deserve it. I hope the new book comes out soon! The suspense is a lot to handle.
Oh my gosh. Loved this book. This series is so amazing. Scary to think it could be the future. So well written. Such strong characters. Recommend to all
Still going strong. I love these characters and I’m hooked to find at what is going to happen. Like all of Alyssa books I love turning every page. Thanks
I loved the beginning of this story, it completely captures your attention and makes you want to keep going. So many new characters are introduced and some you have been left wondering if they made it out of the fire or not. The breeding facility is completely creepy and blew my mind at how much description the author was able to give for my mind to picture it in detail. Although there is another book after this one I still feel like the ending of it was really good and really sad at the same time. I hate that Kayla and Mason are separated but I really hope the next book kicks ass.
