ALYSSA DAY is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of romantasy, paranormal romance, and mystery novels whose books have sold more than a million copies and been translated into many languages, although she’s holding out for Klingon. She has lived with and battled chronic depression for her entire life and finally admitted it to her family—and the world—in 2014. Life is better now, because depression lies and tells us we’re alone.

We’re not.

Alyssa (as Alesia Holliday) is a diehard Buckeye from The Ohio State University who graduated summa cum laude from Capital University Law School in Ohio and practiced as a trial lawyer for several years before coming to her senses and letting the voices in her head loose on paper. She has lived all over the country and all over the world, including the Philippines, Turkey, and Japan.

When she’s not traveling to new adventures, she lives in Florida with her Navy Guy husband, spends time with her two amazing kids, and rescues dogs.

Especially pugs.

Fire demon firefighter meets cursed woman who turns into a swan. I thought it was engaging and even the parts that I would have liked more details on have to be forgiven due to the novella nature of the story.

Read this in the anthology Enthralled . Its been a while since I read an Alyssa Day PNR. As I remember her style is not as dark as most, and more like grown up Cinderella-like fairy tale than Grimm Bros.
Brynn and Sean's journey toward their HEA certainly has its hurdles and enough heat to make for an enjoyable read. As it is a shorty read, the ending/epilogue was too abrupt and left me with lingering questions about the "curse." Not a true cliffy...Looks like there were more stories planned in the series, so those ?? may have been answered in future books. And not having read book one in the series, I have no idea how the O'Malleys play into The League of the Black Swan bec it was not touched upon. Only one itty bitty walk thru scene with Luke Oliver. Someday I may read it ;)
Solid 3.5* for love over adversity btwn a cursed swan's lament and the heat of a lonely fire demon halfling.

I read this ages ago as part of the Enthralled anthology and it really was unique, fantastical and romantic. I felt like it was a bit rushed, but I always feel short stories or novellas are, so it's not the writing. I'm actually bummed I won't get to read the second book of the series as it was canceled.

I am a member of Alyssa Day's email list for one reason and one reason only. She told me, when I signed up, that she would eventually send out the next book in League of the Black Swan as a freebie for her email subscribers. That was years ago, but I continue to skim each email for news that never comes. I feel like we are waiting out contractual rights, so I keep hanging on.

Curse of the Black Swan does not build on The Cursed, but it serves as a nice introduction to this world. It was originally a novella in an anthology, so it's constrained by its format, but the hero makes it worth the read.

Lined by moonlight
Such an amazing short story. I love the way these two lonely characters happened upon each other and then found a love to last. The excitement of the fires, the mystery of the swan, and the touching love of family all came together to create this magical romance that will bring tears to your eyes and joy to your heart. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Wow, what a great story. This was a small story but it packed a huge punch. I haven’t read this series before but I definitely am going to get all the others. This is an incredible book.

Good story

This is a good story at least what I read of it. It started and about chapter 3 it started again at the beginning. The end did not finish, it went to the end of another story. I am really confused.
