The first book I decide to buy and to read in 2018 is this book, The Elite Consulting, the main reason is that I do have a COnsulting company and I am feeling stuck to grow that business. Yes, I do have clients, I have value to bring to clients, but...... it is jumping from 1 client to another and from 1 invoice to another. For me, this is creating my own salary instead of building a business.
Now, this book doesn't come really with instant hands-on solutions (therefore you should follow the author's Accelerator Coaching Program, so why did I gave this book 5 stars?
For me, a book doesn't need to give solutions. A book needs to make me think. A book needs to ask the right questions and my own mind should, after answering the questions honestly, come up with a solution that fits me.
When you read this book seriously, it will put you thinking of certain mindsets you currently have and the book explains how that mindset can be blocking the growth of your consulting business (and not only your consulting business, any business). The books show you different perspectives
Ex. When you are considering signing up for a new service, a virtual assistant, a conference or a coach, often we look at the cost and before we deice to pay, we think of it is really worth it. Another perspective is the think "Am I worth it"
16 mindsets and many more excuses debunked to grow your business and that is the main reason why you as consultant and entrepreneur should read this book!
Quickly scan through IF you have a small consulting business that is new or if you are stuck at a plateau. There is not much new in the book from which to learn, however, good to scan through just to make sure you are checking off the list of items in the book well. Often, it is not about learning something new, but rather just executing well what to do's and what not to do's.
Found this a very timely and helpful book as my company is looking to break into a new market. If you are a struggling consultant for any reason (e.g. low fee rates, fear of failure, struggling to say no, doing too much yourself) then this book is a good kick up the rear. Highly recommended.
