This book will tug at your heart and you will go through all the emotions of the wonderful main characters of this story written so beautifully by Rye Hart. I admit that I am a fan of Rye's writing as she conjures up fantastic storylines, realistic characters that I care about and HOT steamy scenes! her descriptions with such details make the story come "alive" as I was drawn towards Chane and Dream as well as Star, Chance's sweet 5 year old niece whose dad died and her mother wants nothing to do with her. How someone can abandon a sweet little girl is beyond me. Anyway, Chance is a hero in so many ways. he is an ex Navy SEAL who was badly injured following an IED and he lost part of his leg and now occupies his time making prosthetics for people and has been given custody of Star whom he loves. He was treated very badly by his ex wife and has retreated to the country with Star. But Star needs some help with her reading and he puts a wanted notice in the local Diner which is where Dream works thanks to her best friend. Dream is an ex teacher and volunteers to help the little girl. Never realising that this would start the ball rolling into the future that could lead to happiness and love for her. When you read the scenes between Chance and Dream it is so obvious that they are so attracted to one another even without knowing that they both have secrets - One of Dream's comes back to haunt her and put her life in danger. But Chance cares passionately about her and is protective too and he won't let anyone ever hurt Dream again. is this a new start for Dream and could there be a HEA for her? With chemistry between Chance and Dream that is off the charts as well as being so sweet too her too, it is the caring and passion that blend together to make them a couple that belong together and I loved reading these scenes. This is a terrific story that is well worth reading and certainly one that I will be re-reading as it's so good. I thoroughly recommend that you get this book and am sure you won't regret it.I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.
I loved this book. Chance is a wonderful alpha male that has taken in his cute niece that needs some special tutoring. While Chance is eating with her they meet Dream at the local diner. Dream just happens to be a teacher hiding from her abusive husband. She offers to help Chance with his niece, and the attraction they find each other in just might be to much for them. This is a great book with romance, mystrey, emotion, truma, and a crazy ex. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
Meh. Not a lot of extra. It was a little anti-climatic with the ex. Chance wanted Dream to hide when they knew the ex was coming. Dream cannot follow instructions. There was a lot of single shower mastrubating and then a bunch of hard sex. I didn't really understand how the title went with the story and he wasn't really a mountain man.
Well... What can I say that hadn't been said?? Who cares right? Because I must say what's on my mind. Well the first is what hunk of a man is this guy right here in the cover? Dayum he's one hot muffin. And the tittle?? He's big alright. Jeez... What was waiting for me... Rye Heart has a writing full of feelings, sexiness, desire and all that's good. Let's just say that once you start you can't stop... Big Daddy is the new release and tells the stories of Chance and Dream, cute names right? Chance was left with the responsibility to take care of his niece after her daddy, his brother, passed away. Start is a special kid that needs special tutoring. He's a ex Navy Seal that was seriously injured during one mission. After losing a part of his leg he takes his time creating prosthetics for the ones who need them. When a beautiful woman caught his view in the dinner he's in he can't imagine the turn his life is about to get. Dream is hidding herself from her abusive husband. She's a teacher but since she's hidding she can't follow her career but when the sweet Star enters her life she needs to help this little girl so she becomes her tutor. And I'm done talking about this book. Wanna know more? Read and find out... Beautiful and intense story that's for sure. The plot was magnificent and beautiful. Every single aspect was taken in consideration and that was amazing. The interation between the characters is amazing and you can feel the Alfa male standing in attention. That need to protect his family no matter what. Of course that not everything was a bed of roses because madness and evilness are there as well. Ahem... The hot stuff in this book is..... Jeez.... Overall this book is precious from top to bottom, it was beautiful to navigate between these pages. Another amazing book Rye Hart and I can't even imagine what's about to come. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Let start off with the fact that their names are dream and chance.... Any other day I would be rolling my eyes at the cliche of it, but I actually thought that this was a good choice for the two main characters.
I for sure would recommend this, really good read!
This was a great romance with the twists, surprises and tense moments, as well as a few awe moments. I really liked Chance and Dreams characters as they were so torn over each other and even though they wanted the same thing they just didn't talk to each other argh! Star is the cutest thing ever and really liked how she was involved in the story as you would expect as she is a big part of Chances life. There were plenty of times of will they or wont they finally see the light which keeps you hooked until the end.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved Dream and Chance. These were two people who both had bad experiences with previous relationships. Both were afraid to commit to another person, however their chemistry and attraction was too strong to ignore. They give in, of course not without problems, and to top it off Dream's dangerous abusive husband is gunning for her, but he finally met his match. Read it, you will enjoy...
Okay I think I have found a new favorite writer her books are amazing and I like the fact they can also be a little funny, some of the woman in her books are strong independent woman which I like. None of these damsels
Wow .. I think this is the worst book i've read this year .. they are so many things stupid in this book that I don't know where to start. Maybe when did they fall in love ? I was there I was reading the book but it didn't SEE it .. What 5 year old can cook ? The fighting was about the most stupid things just to fill some pages ..
Good story but please axe out the additional supplementary material!
This story does have a lot of heart, romance, and a few scary moments (which I wish more romance novels would have because of lack of anticipatory tension). I like the ones that are more realistic. There will usually be a child involved with the single parent, in this case, the guy. In an age when I remember GW Bush trying his hardest to justify a Persian Gulf War II, we have to deal with the issue of wounded veterans coming home. (Fact from the Department of Veteran Affairs Central Office: They were anticipating many more deaths than medical discharges because spouse and orphan payouts were cheaper. Also, when I left the VA in 2006, Central Office let slip a memo which quoted from two separate sources that 25% of our homeless are veterans. SHAMEFUL!) So I was rather pleased with the medical and engineering accuracies (what little was detailed) because poor research really bothers me. We still will have stalking ex's who can be homicidal in this world, even those representing the police. (I have had a vast range of both positive and negative experiences with police from the frank beating my fiancé took by two corrupt police officers for reporting them [resulting in a closed head injury, multiple contusions, a fractured orbit and ribs and any excuse to shoot his dog who tried to rescue him] to fabulous ones whom I'll bear-hug any day of the week for what they have done for me and my family.) It's all a mixed bag, and I am glad Rye Hart decided to give the bag a shake and see what could be produced. Before anyone says that a guy can't make prosthetic appliances at home, my dad did all sorts of inventive things at home, usually making his own parts, too. Sometimes the best things are the ones that grow from cottage industry.
The pace of the tale was decent. (I hate rush jobs, especially at the end.) I found most people introduced as credible, including the icky ex. (I've met people like him. *shudder*) I do have one question for the author: What was the medium the engagement ring made of? Sorry, but that is still a question in the back of my mind that continues to bother me, knowing what kind of parts he would have lying around the place. It wasn't like he was a metallurgist or a goldsmith. And titanium's too brittle for prosthetics.
On the most part, I didn't see a ton of glaring grammatical or spelling errors, though there were enough there to annoy me (hence the four stars). I swear! What does it take to get someone to proofread a manuscript????? Rye, from my experience in being an editor, an extra pair of eyes can't hurt. And it would make you look way more professional.
And do me a HUGE favor. PLEASE STOP THESE ANCILLARY STORIES AT THE END OF THE COVER NOVEL! In one case recently, I found a bonus novel of another author to be far more compelling as the cover novel than what was presented. Besides, with the exception of one novella (it really does not qualify as a novel), I had already read them as bonus stories in another volume of your!! When my husband and I was still running our publishing company, we refused to allow authors to reprint stories in other books (except for one which was a memento mori after a beloved writer's death). It cheapens the brand, robs the reader for having to had paid twice (in most cases), and makes readers less likely to buy your books in the future. (I have the numbers on my husband's computer when we were dealing with a few editors who slipped a few passed us.) You're not doing yourself or anyone any favors.
So now that I've said all that, I hope you do read this review (do all writers do that?) and take some of things I've said seriously. Self-publishing has been a boon for new writers but at the cost of quality. And, I have to say, this makes me very sad.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary review.
To say that life had been unfair would be an understatement for poor Dream. She married the man of her dreams, or at least she thought so. The the police officer became aggressive and very hurtful, both physically and mentally. He vowed to Dream he wouldn't stop finding her until she was in a box. That didn't stop her from escaping him, again. She moved in with a friend and her friend's son, and worked at the diner with that friend. Hiding the bruises wasn't easy, not this time. Things are about to take a drastic change for Dream, and this time she is getting happy versus the bad.
Being a SEAL who had tried to save people, ended up having himself bombed into unconsciousness and missing a limb when he woke up. Not only that but his brother, who also was military was killed in the line of duty. His brother's wife couldn't deal with his death, and forgot to take care of their child. By the time Chance was healed enough to go home, he was given Star to care for. His niece at such a tender age had been through too much. Being the rugged, rough around the edges guy, but a big heart and patience for her, she was surviving, but not fully. This also came from a heartbreak of his own that has left him bitter and more rough around the edges. But Chance needed help, and he found it when he least expected it.
A call from the school has Chance going to talk to the teacher, again. When he gets there he spots his niece, by herself in the courtyard, while the other kids played and laughed and ran. Breaking his heart a little more, he knows what is going to be said. Chance was surprised to hear that the teacher felt Star was unable to read and keep up with the other kids. The teacher suggested a tutor to help. Chance goes and gets Star and they head to the diner before home.
Funny how when you should not feel something you do, well that is exactly what happened when Dream spots Chance and the little girl walking into the diner. Here she is trying to finally be free of her ex-husband and knowing all the pain he caused her, and she is daydreaming about someone who just walked in. She is friendly and Star even talks a little to her, which is much more than she has done in a while. It was Chance pinning something on the community board before leaving that interested Dream even more....she reads it, it is looking for a tutor for the little girl.
Dream takes the number and calls, both are a bit surprised. Their secrets are hidden or so they thought. Only her bruises show, and now there are some things exposed. Dream is invited over to go over some things about the tutoring job, Star talks and the more surprising part is asking for certain books. Dream and Star get to know one another, Chance tries to keep his distance, tries to stay unattached or interested. But things change quickly.
Lots of twists and turns in their future. Ex hubby calls and scares Dream who takes off since she doesn't want Chance or Star to be hurt, Chance has the feeling of being needed, Star is coming out of her shell, ex-husband shows up and causes trouble. Chance and Dream are getting hotter and hotter with each other. A final show down, the ex is gone for good, and another big surprise. Misunderstandings of how things are said and are not said, talking things out, doing much more than talking, coming to a complete understanding and more of the doing more than talking. Just when all these twists start to slow down, another good surprise happens that will lead the way for this family to have a very well deserved happily ever after.
With an honorable discharge in his hand, Chance Owens came home to find his wife pregnant with his “friend’s” baby! He divorced his wife and he headed to the Wyoming mountains to have some alone time and get his head right. It was a new start.
It was new for his niece, Star, too. His brother had been killed in combat when she was 2; her grieving mother turned to the bottle and neglected Star. She had been put in the foster system for 2 years when Chance found out. He didn’t want that for her, so he took her in. But the isolation of the cabin and what Star had been through made adjusting difficult at first. Both of them locked the world out. Now she hardly spoke more than a few words and the school was concerned. They recommended a tutor before she got any further behind.
Dream was working in her new waitressing job. Her friend, Liza, had taken her in and gotten her the job. She knew that Dream had left an abusive husband – the bruises on her arm made that obvious. When Chance walked into the diner with Star, Dream noticed how attractive he was. Liza said the little girl had shown up about 3 months ago. Dream waited on them and interacted with Star and her new doll. Chance watched closely. When they left, he pinned a paper on the bulletin board to find a tutor.
When he next came back, Chance asked Dream is anyone had expressed interest in his ad. She told him she had been an elementary school teacher and was interested in the job. Everything looked perfect for Chance and Star. Dream already showed she cared about Star; Star was comfortable with her. Could this work out? Could Dream help these two hurt people heal and let others into their lives? Or would danger show up with Dream’s abusive ex-husband not willing to let her have a new life?
This author has done it again – written a wonderful story to melt your heart! You will adore the main characters she has created, people you would want in your own life. Combined with just the right amount of suspense, the reader will definitely be drawn in to eagerly see how a dangerous situation will resolve! You won’t want to miss this story!
Dream and Chance are finding safety, hope, and love in each other’s arms in this amazing, heartwarming and sensationally romantic HEA! Every time she tried to break free from the monster that shackled her she was only pulled back in while everyone around her bowed to his power and charm. Chance escaped a lot when he left the big city behind - the demons of never feeling quite adequate enough so that his wife betrayed him and the lost of his limb being just two of his ghosts. He likes his solitary life in the mountains - minding his own and keeping his peace. When he gains custody of his niece Star after his brother passing and his sister in laws downward spiral he knows he needs to do right by that little girl. She has seen far too much pain already in her life and he will do his darnedest to make sure she smiles again. He cannot understand how anyone could hurt a woman - especially one as wonderful as Dream. He vows to protect her no matter the cost. It’s so easy once he has Dream in his home to picture her has member of the family, but will he be able to make the picture stick?

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book for my honest review!
Rye, this book was so touching that it brought out emotions of sorrow and empathy in me. Chance, Dream and little Star will go on a journey of self discovery but in the end they will all have to make the decision as to wwhether to move forward or let the past dictate the rest of their lives.
Chance ex-military was discharge from the service only to come home to find out that his wife had cheated on him as was pregnant with another mans baby. He thought that she just could not be with someone who lost a limb, which was his leg, but not matter, he moved away to the mountains. Some time has passed and his brother passed away and his niece has been going into foster home because the child mother could not deal with the death of her husband and she neglected her daughter Star. Chance gets custody of his niece, but it hard, he doesn't know how to raise a child but he is doing his best.
Dream is running from her ex, he is a very abusive man, she has marks on her body that shows what she has been through. If it was not for the kindness of her co-worker Liza she would be out on the streets. Liza finds her a job at the diner and gives her a place to sleep, while she tries to rebuild her life, but she is still looking over her shoulders ever so often thinking that her ex is just around the corner looking for her.
Dream, Chance and Star meet at the diner and Dream has a very good rapport with Star. Dream thinks lustful thought about Chance and vice versa for Chance.
Will these two be able to move on from the past, and if so, what will it take for them to make it?
Read this exceptional good book by Rye Hart to find out !
This is wonderful slow building love story about Chance and Dream. Their story has secrets, trauma, lies, romance, sex and love. Chance has been medically discharged from being a Seal and returned to a very heartbreaking situation with Becky, his wife at the time. Needing to start over he leaves the city and lives in a cabin in a remote area, ALONE. Months later he learns his young niece is in foster care and takes her in and starts the slow process of raising her and making her a happy little girl. Dream has had a hard marriage and has been running and hiding from her abusive husband. What he’s done to her is unthinkable and just down right wrong. I loved how Dream and Chance meet and start to spend more time together as Star needs help with her reading, feeling safe and confident to be more out going. Jackie is a nice little surprise and how all the grown ups react to her. Chance and Dream have a beautiful attraction to one another and spend a lot of time together trying to make things work and then nightmare comes back to torment her, Nick her husband. Chance being an alpha man who is built like a dream takes charge and does what needs to be done to protect her and Star. Will Dream be able to take another man making demands and control of her or will she run back to her husband to protect those she really loves? I enjoyed all the characters from this story and they all play their part in becoming a family member. This is one touching love story that has the power to heal two broken hearts if they can figure out how to deal with the past and move forward. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
A few things I didn't quite understand...a mountain man's baby romance? Eh idk about that. It didn't have that lumberjack, mountain main, secluded from town and everyone except for the new woman he meets and can't stop thinking about feel.
And I just thought there was so much time wasted on her not thinking he loved her so she's leaving, and he thinking she doesn't love him so he's trying to forget her... When both friends and the Grandma-like neighbor are telling them to TALK TO EACH OTHER! You dumbasses. And they would maybe try to talk but then get nervous and then have sex (lots of it) or fight or whatever else. I mean obviously it happens. Lack of communication, but it happened so often by the end I was getting annoyed. But other than that? Star was adorable with her green eggs and her baby doll.
H is supposed to be tutoring Star to help her read and she went over about two times.
and the h annoyed me many times in the story. she was stubborn which most times I enjoy the h to push H a bit, but she was just plain old stupid. ***spoilers**" she's diving behind a dumpster to get away from old hubby who she is on the run from who she only thinks is there...but then when this ex actually comes to Chance's house after tracking her there...Chance tells her to go to his basement lock herself in till he knocks. she comes out multiple times, the last time she comes out end up with her being caught by the abusive ex. hello???? 5 seconds ago she was really scared now, she's afraid Chance A MILITARY GUY is going to be hurt, so she runs out to see him. stupid.
This story end at about 26% and other bonus stories follow.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Another absolutely wonderful book by Ms Hart. I really enjoyed the characters of Chance and Dream. Two people who have not been lucky in love in the past. Chance a former SEAL has moved away from his family and friends after finding out upon leaving the Navy that his wife has been cheating on him. He is also dealing with the fact that he has lost half of one of his leg. He lives in a small town now and has recently taken in his 5 year old niece after his sister in law has been declared unfit. She did not take the death of Chance's brother well. Dream is a woman on the run from her abusive husband. She has been moving from town to town with him always seeming to find her. Chance and Dream meet one morning at the diner she has just started working at. He has posted a flyer up seeking help with tutoring his niece. Dream mentions to Chance that she use to be a teacher and would love to help him. There is definitely attraction between the two and Chance upon learning what Dream has gone trough feels very protective of her. This was a story full of emotions. Love, trust, anger, fear and at times happiness. Will Dream finally be able to get away from her ex? Will they both be able to open themselves up to a chance at love again? I strongly recommend this book. It is one of Ms Harts best!
When an ex SEAL, Chance, gets custody of his niece, Star, she doesn’t adjust to well in school with everything that has happened to her in the past. He knows he needs a tutor to help with her reading and getting her out of her shell, so when a waitress, Dream, offers to tutor her, he takes her up on the offer. Chance and Dream are attracted to each other and it doesn’t take long for them to act upon it but Dream has a dangerous past and an ex who will stop at nothing to get to her. Chance will do everything in his power to keep her safe and it’s up to him and his past training to be able to protect her. A great read with suspense, steamy scenes and an ex SEAL who had given up on love taking a chance once again. I liked Chance, he took responsibility and was doing what he could to make sure his niece had everything she wanted and loved her deeply, trying to make sure she adjusted and was not left behind. Dream was a survivor and was strong but also selfless, not wanting to put Chance and Star in danger but also willing to risk her heart to Chance even with her past history. I loved how the book didn’t end when things came to a head with Dream’s ex and the author kept the story going, continuing on with Chance and Dream’s story since it wasn’t finished and they had to get to their HEA....which was worth the wait. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. we meet Chance, discharged SEAL living in small town Wyoming raising his niece. he is trying his best to be there for her but it's hard when she's been thru so much. he decides to hire a tutor. he takes star our for supper to find a beautiful woman serving them and he comes to life. we meet Dream, newbie in town, waitressing at a local diner and on the run from her abusive husband. she sees a.handsome man with a young girl and her heart pitter patters. Chance can't stop thinking about Dream and how she got star to open up and Dream happens to be a school teacher who applies for the tutoring job. both are widely attracted to each other but know it's against the rules per se. Dream is having a hard time at work being paranoid that her ex found her. she doesn't know what to do so she calls Chance. he comes to the rescue and Dream has no choice to but tell him everything. Chance is livid and wants revenge on her ex but he has to think about star. a rescue mission turns into a night of passion and chance is amazed that his injury doesn't make dream run for the hills. dreams ex is in town making trouble and chance enlists the help of his bestie. but will.it be enough? will chance keep dream and star safe? will dream tell him her other secret?
I could not help but love this sweet heat, intensity building, with a whole lot of feels romance between two people( Dream & Chance ), screwed over by the past. Letting fate and some well-placed kicks in the pants by friends point them both down the right path to help themselves and one smart little girl.
This fast moving, crazy train of emotional wreckage was an absolute attention grabber; I am a sucker for the " single male parent stories " so I am automatically drawn to those, on top of that, this unique storyline comes with many twists with heart! Beyond the heartache, twists, and turns, a number of intensities passion filled, darker suspense wise was quite amazing! If they aren't fighting emotionally or physically, they're using something other than words to get their point across! This clustery mess- put my emotional state in the blender on high, for most- ok all of this is tantalizing, if not frustrating, but so darn intriguing journey for Dream and Chance. I don't know how many times I smacked my forehead when I thought these two did something ridiculous! How great is that?! Oh my! Once again, Rye Hart has created something different, fun, hot, romantic I loved it! 4.5 Stars!
Chance has opted to live a life of solitude. After many years in the service, he knows that he doesn’t need to be around people, especially those he doesn’t trust. But what’s he supposed to do when his niece is left parent less? He can’t let her go into the system, so he does what he can and knows he’ll do whatever he can to make her life perfect. Dream is not living the life. She is on the run from her abusive husband and trying to keep a very low profile in this small town. However, when she meets Chance and his niece she’s immediately drawn to them. When she finds out that his niece needs a reading tutor, she volunteers. She used to be a teacher and has missed that part of her life. Chance is leery because Dream is too beautiful and is stirring up long buried emotions, but his niece loves her immediately. Given that she does not communicate much to anyone, Chance decides to trust Dream even though he doesn’t trust himself around her. Now, when Dream’s past catches up to her, Chance knows that he would never let anything happen to her. This is a quick read but was quite enjoyable. There were 2-3 additional books included but I did not read them as I didn’t find them interesting.
ARC Review So this story has a lot going on we have Dream who is on the run from her abusive husband that smacks her around while telling her he loves her so much she can Never leave. Then there's Chance an ex-seal who returns from combat only to discover his wife is pregnant...with his buddy's kid. Yeah, that old chestnut. Finally, there is his niece Star (lots of atmospheric names in this one) whom Chance has gained guardianship of when she begins to fail in school and show emotional instability. Ok these three all somehow end up in the same small town out in the boonies together. Dream is working at the local diner when Chance comes around looking for a Tutor for Star. He ends up hiring her. The chemistry between these two is just magnetic with sparks flying left and right but both are scared of love and commitment but for different reasons. In the end Dream does have a very appropriate reason to be afraid because guess who eventually finds her? Yup the not nice hubby! A *Beep* storm ensues but Chance and his friends wont be letting the evil ex get to his Dream.
And So love triumphs, our H/h get their HEA and Happiness flourishes... as it should!!!! READ IT! You will Love this one it is impossible not to connect with these characters!

Excellent and quite intense during most parts. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book It’s the story of Chance, an ex soldier, divorced who needed to escape the big town to start a new life, alone. Then, he had got custody of his niece (Star) and he lives with her since 3 months when he meets Dream. Dream works as a waitress and escapes his violent husband who hurts her regularly. But he’s a cop and he found her each time she tried to take her freedom. Star is traumatised from her past life in foster family and she can't learn to read. Before her escape, Dream was a teacher, so she proposes to Chance to be Star's tutor. Chance and Dream are immediately attract to each other, but they resist this attraction until she realises that his ex husband found her. She asks help to Chance and he protects her until her ex husband comes to them and try to kill them. The second part of the story is quieter. Excellent intense story with some twists. The characters are excellent. I find interesting the way Dream’s past is explain. Maybe it will even help some women who are hit by their partner, to find the courage to escape them.
Chance Owns was discharged from the military to come home with a leg missing and to his wife. But when she got pregnant the dates didn't add up and he found out that she cheated on him and got pregnant with his baby. Chance decided it was best to leave town and cut off all ties. When he did that he ended up in Wyoming where he lived alone in a cabin. But once he found out his brother died in battle and his niece was in the system, he brought Star to live with him. They all needed to adjust to living again. He is trying his best for his niece and his brother.
Dream was a school teacher married to a cop, but when things got bad, she ran again. This time she ended up in Wyoming where she thought Nick would never find her. But when Chance needs a tutor for Star, will Dream be able to hide her past from him? Will Nick find her and take her back home alive or in a pine box? Will Chance take a chance on love and Dream?
This book is very touching and emotional as Chance, Dream and Star find each other and grow into a family. It also included very hot and steamy sex scenes, love, lust, and a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book Chance had been in the military, lost a leg, came home to start a family with his wife. He found out she was pregnant already by his friend. So he left to go to the mountains. His brother had been killed (also in the military) and had a daughter. The girls mother wasn’t able to care for her & to kee her from having to go to foster homes, he took her in. Chance works from home building prosthetics for others who have lost limbs. Starr was having problems in school & needed to find a tutor. He puts a note up at a local diner looking for a tutor. Dream is a waitress there, but was a teacher before she came there to escape the abuse of her husband who is also a cop. Dream has an instant connection with Star & is able to get her to start taking & leaning. Chance is scared of falling for anyone & Dream is afraid all men are like her husband. Just as they seem to start thinking they can make it right her husband shows up but has plans to make sure that if he can’t have her no one will. Does Chance get to have his Dream & a family he’s always wanted?
This was an absolutely beautiful story about new beginnings. Chance is an ex Navy seal who is discharged after losing a leg to find his wife cheated and is pregnant by another man. Now he is living in a small town in Montana raising his niece Star after the death of his brother Luke. After his wife's betrayal and his injury, he keeps to himself avoiding an real relationship. His only real friend is his older neighbor Cynthia. Dream works at the local diner. She is running from her very abusive husband so she has trust issues also. When these meet at the diner, the attraction is definitely mutual. When Chance sees bruises on Dream's arm, his protective instincts kick in. Because Star is having problems at school, he places an ad for a tutor unaware that before running Dream was a teacher. She offers to help Star with her reading. From there, the relationship builds. But will Dream's ex and their trust issues ruin what could be a beautiful relationship? Read to find out!!! 5 stars!!!!!! I read an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for my honest opinion.
Dream is running away from her crazy ex Nick a Chicago PD officer who is also a psychopath intent on never letting her go unless it's in spine box. She gave up her teaching job and has been working as a waitress in Buffalo, Wyoming. Living with her friend Liza and Liza's little boy. She has no intention of doing anything but laying low but then she meets Chance. Chance is an ex Navy SEAL raising he's sweet five year old niece who has been through hell in her short little life. She quite and Chance and her school counselor think she need a tutor to help with her reading. Chance was once married but when he came back home to Boston after losing his leg to an Explosion he found his wife pregnant with one of his best friends kids. To escape to pain he moved across the country years ago. Chance puts a notice for a reading tutor up at the local diner where Dream finds it. Chance and Dream have instant chemistry and Chance will do anything to keep her and his niece Star safe. Great read with a very HEA and a whole lot of steam.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Chance Owens and Jessica "Dream". Dream is on the run from her abusive ex and doesn't want anyone else to get hurt by protecting her from him. Chance is a man who thinks he is no good for any woman but his niece Star. However when Star starts having real problems in school he knows he needs to get some help. Little did either of them realize they just might be what the other needs. What happens though if Dream is right and her ex is back? What happens if Chance can't let go of the idea that he is no good for any woman? Can they have a future or will they burn each other to badly to have one?
This is an amazing story about finding love and hope in the most unlikely places. This story does have it's ups and downs that I want to tell you all about. I don't want to ruin the story for anyone else though. I will tell you that this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
