The First in J Allison’s ‘Through the Triangle Saga’, this epic novel of loss, adventure and love interweaves the life of an unsuspecting time traveller with a post-apocalyptic world sheriff.
Waking on a beach confronted by three armed men, in a world where humans are near extinct, Abbie Peters is taken to a small village on the edge of a forest where the existence of electricity, vehicles and television are nothing more than historical stories.
Marooned, alone and ignorant of the dangers this new world poses Abbie’s safety relies solely on Adam, the enigmatic and reluctant sheriff, together they realize the unbelievable truth of what has happened, a truth they hide from everyone.
In this parallel world, filled with danger and violence, the revelation that this time and her own are tied more closely than she could ever have imagined drives Abbie to make one of the most dangerous and difficult decisions of her life.

Abbie Peters wakes up on a beach and finds out that she's not in Kansas anymore. This book takes a look at parallel worlds and, for the most part, it is done quite well. It was a fairly quick read for me, and I think it needs more work on world-building, but I found it an interesting concept and entertaining read (for the most part).
Onto the criticisms: readers should note that there are descriptions of rape and violence, including violence towards animals in this book. Personally, I really could have done without them being quite so graphic, OK so once I can understand so you get the gist, but after that it all felt a bit unnecessary.
Overall, it was worth reading and I would be interesting in reading a follow-up. Rating: 3.5 stars
Abbie wakes up on the beach after a jet ski accident. She discovers things are very different and danger is everywhere. The people who find her try to guide her in this new world. She is strong willed and just wants to go home. Life becomes complicated when she starts to care about the new people in her life. Action, adventure and romance is what I like most about this book. Never a slow moment. The science fiction concept is very interesting and made me wonder, “ what if?” The characters are strong and fully developed. I was stirred emotionally and made to care about their outcome. I looked forward to the next book in this series.
I read this when it first came out and let me tell you, I’ve been following the author to make sure I don’t miss the next book! This story starts off great and then BAM! You’re sucked into a diff world just like our main character. The concept is great and it gets you thinking about all of life’s possibilities. There should definitely be a trigger warning on this book, there is a rape scene about halfway or a little over half way through that I could of totes used a warning for. Other than that, great story and can’t wait for book #2!
