Actual human/human romance usually isn't my favorite genre to read - admittedly I'm normally a paranormal romance gal (what can I say, I'm unconventional and a bit weird.) However, for this one I made an exception, and I'm glad that I did. The protagonist is a pretty boy - the kind of guy that most women can't seem to refuse, and men want to be his friend - at least until their significant other wants to find themselves in his bed. Adam Garner is a big time director who is the poster boy for sex appeal, and knows it - until he falls in love, and then suddenly his ego goes out the window, along with all of his bad habits as a playboy, and his insecurities burst through the door like the Kool-Aid man. Ahh love, isn't it grand? This book mixes love, with that psycho ex that you know we've either all had, or have had to deal with thanks to our significant other's poor choices in the past, and doesn't play up the bright lights of Hollywood - which is refreshing. Want to know more? You should buy the book and give it a read!
Alpha was different, both because I normally don't read "human romance" (I'm a sucker for paranormal beings, what can I say?), and because it wasn't your run-of-the-mill story line. The characters were not only relatable, but you're able to watch them grow, progress, and evolve throughout the book. This author was not afraid to touch on topics that most would consider "hot button" or "taboo" and doesn't make excuses for her vision, I like that. Alpha isn't like anything you've read, that I can guarantee, and it's definitely worth picking up.
I enjoyed this book and it was crafted well. It was quite different, and touched upon some sensitive issues which I thought was very well done. The plot was great and I finished it in a couple of days. Currently on the last book I have found by this author and I haven't been let down as I really like her writing style.
Continue reading this book. The errors were horrible and I really lost interest after about a few minutes into the book. I' never give 1 stars but this one....
