Rate this book
Unequally Divided takes place during the late 1960s when the nation is split over the Vietnam War, civil rights issues, and political turmoil. Jorden Marshall, a young school teacher, from Columbus, Georgia is fighting to define her own beliefs. She and Lt. Alex Whelan, her future husband, present a united front not to be broken by the terrible war he is fighting in. Certainly, not by the friendship of Lt. Matt Ulster. Jorden and Matt are slated for different directions: Matt to Vietnam and Jorden to marry Alex. They have a mutual understanding there will be no commitments between them. He calls himself her escort, not a date; therefore, no problem. But neither, Jorden or Matt, is prepared for their final hours together before they go separate ways. Jorden has lingering doubts. Still, she is determined to remain loyal to Alex; or is she?

The link from the author may lead to Jane Harper who wrote The Dry but there 8s no way she wrote this drivel. Unless it's been in a drawer since she was 15.

I, like others, picked this novel thinking it was by Australian author Jayne Harper.

I’m really happy I did because now I have a new author to read! I enjoyed this quick novel that made me feel a nostalgia for the late 1960s. The love story between main characters Alex and Jorden (and Matt and Jorden) reminded me of my grandparents.

I’m looking forward to reading The Universe Within Us.

So very disappointed. Didn’t look closely at the authors name and assumed I was going to read another well written book by Jane Harper. This was not the case. Could not finish this predictably and extremely superficial piece of Mills & Boon.

An examination of the feelings of a young woman who falls in love with a soldier and then finds herself separated from him by his year in Vietnam. She reluctantly agreed into a relationship with another soldier and the book is the story of how she copes.
A sidelight - the author, Jane Harper isn't the Australian woman who wrote the dry and now has another best seller on her hands.
