You know, being almost dead is a weird thing, but not as bad as you might expect. You see almost dead has put me in contact with six of the most amazing men I have ever met. Kind, strong ... werewolves, vampires, and warlocks, but who cares?
They’re a mouth-watering smorgasbord of rock-hard abs, smirks, and smoldering gazes. Sure, they’re all the way dead. I’m not worried though.
At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself. But those six men are about to put their very souls on the line to help me get home. Because unlike them, I have a chance to return to the land of the living.
That means that we must face down hordes of undead, while we undergo a brutal journey, and along the way, I must prove my own worth through challenges that will push me to the brink of my mental and physical strength.
And on top of it all, I’m not supposed to get naked with any of those gorgeous guardians of mine because of reasons no one will tell me. #unfair

3.5 This book did not read like it was almost 200 pages. The story went along at warp speed and with 6 guys it made her time with them limited. There was not much character development. I loved the heroine having magical power but the whole challenge idea was weird. It gave her a chapter or two to be with each guy individually but I never really got to know any of them. And to make matters worse, they all die one after the other.... Sure she brings them back but the whole story-line just felt weird to me. I liked the heroine she was spunky and said what was on her mind. It felt pretty obvious how the story would play out especially when the guys started dying. Guess I feel off because there wasn't much of an ending. As far as I know this is the last book in the series and some kind of wrap up would have been nice.

She's warned that her natural father, Gavin ~ a warlock, is also there is likely to try & kill them all!😱 She didn't even know the parents that raised her weren't her natural parents, it made a lot of sense though!😔 She's also told she has a sister.🙏😍 The trials are brutal, emotionally charged but also draining, they're also stacked against them, especially with Gavin working against them too!😡😢 Each trial brings her physically & very much emotionally closer to each man in each trial!😍🔥💘
I loved this storyline.😍 I connected with this one as much as Ally's!🙏💕 I'd love to see more books in this world & catch up with all of these characters again.🙏🙏🌟

So good!!
I need more, there was so much in this book But I'm not satiated yet. Each boom felt like Id gotten through the individual stories this none feels incomplete rather than a continuation. I must have more of rose and her boys!!!

Keeps you on your toes
I loved the challenges she put for each guy that rose met, n glad to see that their was a traitor in the mixes that was helping her real father and that she was able to stop the man from destroying a lot of people, glad she found love in them because she needs the love back. She hasn't had an easy life like her sis Dom

I thought the storyline immensely improved in Book 4 after Book 3 was a little shaky/not my favorite. I fell in Rose from the beginning. I thought she was very relatable and the most realistic our of the bunch in terms of personality. Her fate was the saddest I think because of how everything ended. I liked the concept of the trials and the twists that the author kept including. I don't think we got to have as much connection the various guys because of how the story lends itself, but I loved some of Rose's men in her future harem. I will say the author left the world open for more books/spinoff, but its been awhile so I am not sure that will happen. It kinda felt unfinished, like there should have been one more book to wrap it up, since there was a lot left of work to do after the resolution. I still would recommend this book, especially since all the audiobooks are on audible escape.
The narration was still on point in this book. I thought it Aletha did a good job with the various voices. There were a couple miscues and accent switch-ups (especially with Mr. Broody haha), but it still was great to listen to. Only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars for narration.

Who was the woman at the end of the last book telling Dom she will take care of Rose?! I thought it was her mom? Rose’s mom? Where is rose’s mom?
Is mars Diego’s brother? Did we just forget this?
Are we going to see the other 6 friends of the guys show up if we continue? Will rose get more suitors!?
I love that she is really powerful, wouldn’t these additional guardians match with her as well?
Why is it easy and sometimes hard for her to manipulate the world?
Will she need to kiss every gawk to save them?
Why didn’t we get to see her with Liam and Kessler?
Are there really ladder lungs in this place? Or do all people that die just become gawks?
I need to know these things, please write another and let me know. Cheers!

What an afterlife!
The question of what happens after death is answered in so many ways by so many different religions and beliefs. But then you throw in paranormal beings and it’s a new discussion all over again. In this book you see one imagining that is mesmerizing! If you enjoy various kinds of paranormal beings, a fun reverse harem story, and a bit of a coming of age for a thirty-something year old, than you will love this book! It’s filled with action and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing to the very last word. The only downside is that it ended and I wanted more.

good paranormal why choose novella
I picked this book up after seeing it mentioned on Shannon’s (Emma Dawn’s alter ego) newsletter and I’m glad I did. What an enjoyable way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon - traipsing through the underworld with some hot warlocks, vamps, and wolf shifters. I know this is book 4, but I haven’t read any of the others and I enjoyed it just fine. Good spice, not too over the top in description (although I’d like at least a night with a certain warlock to experience those skills), and if you can overlook insta-lust with a hint toward possible fated mates, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

not as good as the 1st book

I didn't like it as much as the 1st book.

Best one yet
This was the best of the four. We actually got to know the guys a little and they did more than just jump each other. There were many challenges and lots of bad guys. Previous books were more a single issue among lots of sex. This one actually had a story. Heck, she didn't even have sex with all the guys! This was a reverse harem did right. I would love to see more along these lines and see what happens with the grawkers and the Queen.

I've loved this series since book one! I'd love to see how roses story finishes.
I loved this book. It kept me interested and wanting to read more. I loved how this book rose gets a little of every supernatural in her love life. To be honest I couldn't wait for this book to come out. I like the way you described the afterlife and somewhat gave her the choice to stay with her men or leave. I also love how each girl can hold her own.

6 hot men waiting in the underworld for me? Count me in!
Could this series get any better? I dont think so. Amazing writing and another great storyline. Couldnt put it down. My only complaint is it wasnt long enough! I need more! Gimme more!
Great characters that are easy to fall in love with with a nice twisted storyline and was easy to keep track of but unpredictable.
Recommend to all fantasy, super-nateral readers. Worth every penny!😍😍😍

How can each story just get better?
Rose is best friends with Dominique from the previous book. Rose is in a coma in the real word from a car accident. Dom healed her body but now Rose must fight for her life in the realm of the dead. She meets Vincent who sets her on a course to the Chalice so she can return to the land of the living. Rose is sent on her quest with 6 men and Gavin her dad is out to stop her. Love this series everyone needs to read this set of stories.

I don't know how Emma Dawn does it, but, even though it's fantasy fiction, the story line makes sense. I sort of 'skip read' the sex parts, not because I'm a prude or offended by it, simply because it all naturally follows the same lines and I want to continue the story-line proper, which is fantastic. I'm really sorry that I've finished reading the last one, #4, and don't have another one to read. Please, do you have the next one ready yet? Best wishes from an avid reader to a great writer.

I enjoyed this whole series. I devoured the four books in two days. I really encourage you to give it a good read. It has a great story. The FMCs are all connected in some way so you get bits and pieces of each one after their stories conclude. That being said, it isn't all sunshine, roses, and bedroom fun. I loved the story and am hopeful that the author will continue with more in this world she created. I loved it and I hope you do too!

What a great sizzler!
I truly enjoyed this story and all of the others in this series 💗. These vibrant Ladies and their gentlemen are all full love and fun whilst on amazing adventures to realize their full potential. If you read these and don't have a good time...you did it wrong. BTW please keep writing more of these stories.

Great Urban Fantasy!
This Stairway to Harem story was the best and most exciting so far. There is a lot of action and a few great twists.
Though it is a reverse harem, the sexual content is very low. By keeping it low, the author allows a complicated story to fully develop and play out. Fans of RH may be disappointed. Fans of UF will rejoice!

I want more
You have to write another book. I've been reading them since the bring following the lives of everyone and there lovers. And I don't want it to end just like that. I want to see them grow more into there lives they have chosen and have there kids. So don't stop write more and I will be wait to read it as soon as it comes out.

Hot summer read!
Rose is a fabulous main character. She is strong, willing and doesn't care what others think of her. She comes through even when everything is stacked against her. She is guided by her heart. Her journey is fast paced. Full of adventures with sizzling hot men! I would love to read more of her story.

-I only read this book of the 4 standalones in the series. You don’t have to read the others, but I’m sure it would be nice to connect the characters.
-This book was interesting. A different take on purgatory/heaven/hell.
-Told from female MC POV. She is feisty, wants her men and makes it known, 30s, curvy, strong.
-True RH, so no sharing.

Loved this series
I’d love more of rose and her men. Plus I’d like more of Ally and Cassie and there men. I’d also like to know and find out if the men that left will ever come back to them. This series I couldn’t put down till I found out what happened to everyone and there men. Emma Dawn is an amazing author.

Not what I expected
Honestly this book was wonderful. I feel as though this novel had the most action and horror and intensity than the other 3 books in the series. Absolutely floored me. Thank you for these wonderful reads. I hope you will still consider writing a follow up to this novel.

I’ll be honest, this series started off kind of meh for me. It was sizzling hot see sex with not a super string plot. Sometimes a girl needs to read some sizzling hot sex, though, so I stuck with it. Dominique’s story really roped me in much more than Ally and book two. But Rose was the kicker. Way to save the best for last!

Great series! Great writer!
Roses 'scenes' with her guys weren't as vivid to me as Allys or Doms. Not that they weren't hot, maybe just rushed, well cause they were rushed..just thought about that. Maybe in the next book? With that said, I felt like I could see and smell and feel every other part of the books. Great writing! I'll read anything she writes!

Super Supernatural
Rose 🌹and her werewolves, vampires and warlocks are fantastic. That she and Dominique are sisters is even better. It's a shame she has to stay in the in-between world instead of getting to take her guys back with her, so she can be with Dominique and live life with her guys minus Torq who was actually her enemy. It was a damn good story!

What an interesting take on afterlife.
Rose and her boys taking on a journey through afterlife to save her soul? Maybe, but once again full of twists and turns. I should expect t no less from this author. Pulled in, check, heartstrings yanked, check, chewed up and spit out, that too. I would love to see these characters again.
