I had to force myself to finish this book. Heroine came across as weird, needy and stuffy when it came to her family. Kind of an insipid book.

Read a copy with a HP cover. New to me author. Vibe was slightly screwball. She, Madison, is a finance expert/troubleshooter for her kooky extended family (the Sunflowers). He, Harry, is an economics whiz and consultant. His father and her grandmother are getting romantically involved due to a book which is a distillation of the principles of falling in love. Madison has concerns. The opening section, where she and Harry are trapped in a lift in total darkness has some good sensual moments and dialogue. The premise is sort of interesting, certainly novel but a bit of a stretch in the execution. I finished it and would definitely try more by this writer because her H was pretty on the money.

The elevator scene in the beginning was almost 50 pages. Way too long.

And after the elevator scene, I don’t know what her problem was that she kept trying to push a nice, handsome, rich, sexy, intelligent, succesful man away.

I will admit that I was disappointed in this Day Leclaire book. The use of the "principles" for the chapter titles helped to hold the story together. It was just too convenient to have Harry's father Bartholomew fall for Madison Adams's grandmother, Sunny, be a couple along with Harry and Madison. It was too contrived, even for a Day Leclaire story line.
