5 Open Your Heart CROWNS
I love the Wicked Horse Series, the original and the Vegas series. Every story has always been incredibly intense with the elements of danger, edge of my seat plots, and the fun, boundary pushing times at sex club, but Wicked Choice is nothing what I expected and I LOVED IT!
The role reversal of the hero and heroine are one id the many factors that made Wicked Choice a page turner. Rachel is closed off emotionally, focused on her job, and wants zero emotional attachment to anyone. Her refusal to connect and to seek sexual gratification from different men and kink within the walls of the Wicked Horse makes her very similar to many of the heroes readers encounter in romance novels. It makes her an incredibly unique character, and while some readers may dislike this more masculine role, it only makes me enjoy her character more. Like the heroes readers encounter in romance, Rachel goes through an evolutionary process that gives readers a new heroine by the end, one who has changed for the better and who has opened her heart to possibilities.
Bodi is such a breathe of fresh air. While he takes on the more feminine role in the romance novel partnership, Sawyer Bennett still creates a hero who is masculine and sexy and becomes a dominate alpha when needed. His job also serves to counteract the more role reversal. These seemingly opposite traits are combined flawlessly to create a hero worthy of swooning over, and readers will fall head over heals for Bodi, especially for the decision he makes, his ability to express emotions, and for his endless supply of compassion, support, and understanding. So while he is unlike a lot of the heroes we have met in the Wicked Horse, he may be one of my favorites.
For lovers of the Wicked Horse series, Wicked Choice is a departure from what readers have come to expect. The kink is minimal and the influence of the club is less, but it doesn’t matter. We still get heated moments in the club with some kink, but it isn’t in the forefront. The majority of the novel focuses on the development and growth of the characters, as well as the introduction of a new set of characters, who I love just as much as the main characters. The story really focuses on the idea of opening one’s heart to the possibility of love and having the courage to love even if it is lost, and what is really more romantic than that.
Wicked Choice is another great addition to the Vegas series, serving the purpose of connecting the series readers love to a new group of characters they will adore just as much. It sexy, emotional, and romantic, and Sawyer Bennett still manages to add that bit of danger and suspense I always love, making the Wicked Horse a place I want to return to again and again.
