Not your average knight in shining armor. The muscled, rugged, rule-breaking Shifters of Anubis are secret for a reason...

No one would ever guess that a reckless, tousle-haired surfer boy living in paradise would have any secrets. But then, maybe they never looked at his smile...

Kai West is a jaguar shifter, a slinking black predator of the night with killer instincts and infallible tracking abilities. Once upon a time, he was a part of an elite Order called the Shifters of Anubis, dedicated to protecting the hidden shifter world.

But Kai made a fatal mistake while undercover – one that changed his future in one single instant. It drove him out of California and found him hiding on the Hawaii coast. Yet, as long as he’s left alone, he’s content and willing to forget everything he left behind. But when his sister turns up, begging for his help to rescue someone who might be on their way to making the same mistake, Kai reluctantly agrees.

Isla Deluca is an initiate of the TLO and doesn’t even know it – nor what she’s gotten herself into. She thinks she’s on her way to fulfilling her potential as an artist and having her dreams come true. But the TLO is a shadow group which preys on people like her, luring them in with false promises and dreams, all while looking to force the change on them, no matter the consequences.

When Isla awakes on a tropical island, baffled as to how she got there and even more baffled by her apparent kidnapper, who seems far too cavalier and full of jokes about it. And indifferent. Shouldn’t a kidnapper be a little more vested in the girl he brought across the ocean?

I´m not a regular fan of shifter stories, i like one but don´t go looking for them. I just stumbled into this and kind of stuck to it because i was looking for something new to read. It begins as some kind of criminal case and you just go into the shifter theme later into the story. I liked this story more than i thought i would. The main characters Isla and Kai are believable and you get to know them a little. I finished this one with a smile an went right to the next story in the series.

I don't know what it is about this book. I put it down after reading a handful of chapters and just picked it back up randomly tonight and finished it in one sitting. It was a very easy read so the chapters flew by (probably skimmed most of it). It's not a deep plot but Kai and Isla are so cute together. It's the sweet, real feeling couple that, of course, you're going to root for. I kept feeling like there were books before this one that set up the Shifters of Anubis as a collective but I dunno. Paid $0.99 for the 5 book series on Amazon, so it was worth it and I'll probably keep reading them eventually.

Kai

A very different look at shifters. It had adventure and romance without being overly graphic. I felt the characters were strong and the heroine was strong ,smart and had a strong empathy for her love interest. I really enjoyed this book.

Really liked this story about members of a shifter family who were born unable to shift. Different take on the usual stories how a ceremony is needed but also this one requires a scientific serum component too. The book had a some editing mistakes and could be improved with a proof reader.

Ok

The book has a little trouble with character development. It took too long for me to care what happened to the characters.

Not a bad beginning to a new series. However it's not much of a shifter story and reads mainly as a romantic contemporary.
Loved the idea of the talking cats.

I read the entire series and it just keeps you hooked. I love the storyline of all the characters. I feel empty now that I am done with the whole series. I'll just have to read them again.

I quite enjoyed this one. I was a little unsure how it was going to play out but I did enjoy the mystery, I'm looking forward to reading some more of the series
