If I were reading this book in English I wouldn’t give it 5 stars but this is a graded reader designed to help us learn a language. It has to be difficult to write a novel with the limitation of using language at the intermediate level. Ms. Gamier has written one here that manages to be interesting with a better story than many of the ones I have read recently.
Some interesting notes: They suggest reading this without looking up any words. I did that which is not my usual practice. Strange that 40 pages is given to a vocabulary list? The story involves mostly conversations between characters followed by a short summary in Spanish and then English. A nice challenge for those of us at the intermediate level. There is an included audio link I haven’t used yet.

A good challenge after reading an A2 graded reader. Nice story with a twist but ended a bit abruptly. There are summaries of each chapter in both Spanish and English, but the English translations are poor with grammatical/spelling errors. Not the end of the world but makes the book feel unpolished.

Good way to improve my spanish. I like the chapters being broken down and having a short summary at the end of each.
