The first 2/3 of this book was pretty good, the last 1/3 was where things diminished in quality a bit for me.

Starting strong with Chase who is an uber confident man that had no idea he was anything other than straight and a younger Justin who is just starting out in his career journey. They have both led incredibly different lives but have somehow found their way to one another despite the vast differences. Chase is successful, rich, self-assured, yet somehow still empty. Justin is adventurous, fun, chill, and yet he is also a bit empty. Something is missing for each of them and only by involving themselves with one another are they able to find what they never knew they needed. Justin fills Chase's life with spirit, life, and a different perspective on success and happiness. Chase gives Justin a sense of grounding, stability, and heart.

There's drama with issues of coming out as well as Justin being suddenly incredibly naive with a "casting couch" situation, but despite that, they overcome what might keep them apart and find great strength and love together. On the way to the end each of them deal with issues in a rather simple way. It's not that the issues are simple or that the solutions are either, it's just a general feeling that the story was being rushed to a completion that left things overly simplified and kind of a juvenile writing style that wasn't really there in the beginning.

Overall, the story was good and the MC's were really good for one another.

Read and willingly reviewed this ARC for the author.

Simple storyline, sometimes I ask myself why everything is not so simple. Two men meet, two men love each other and that's all.

Chase has been summoned to a meeting with his father, when he goes straight to the elevators he's challenged by a young handsome receptionist who's adamant he has to sign in on strict instructions by Mr DuPont. After playing with him for a bit he puts his business card down and takes the elevator.
Justin can't believe that he just challenged The Director of Operations, a very sexy one at that, to sign in! As he gets in the elevator he turns and winks at Justin! He needs to apologise. When he overhears Chase being shouted out for a missed meeting he realises its his fault, he'd goes in and confirms its his fault. He asks Chase if he can take him out for coffee to make up for the mistake.
Chase agrees to coffee. He's never been into men before but Justin does something to him, he's intrigued to find out!
The more time they spend together the more Chase wants and needs to kiss Justin. Chase even takes the lead. Justin can't believe Chase hasn't been with another man before! Chase introduces Justin to friends who could help with his modelling/acting career take off. Justin gets a mentor called James who asks Justin to this apartment to discuss a role. Chase says he thinks its dodgy but Justin goes anyway! James tries to make Justin perform a sex act to get the role so he flees! Chase wants to kill him.
Chase's dad wants him to go out with their rivals daughter, take her to lunch and find out information that would help their business. Chase has never said no to his dad before but he can't do this all he wants is Justin! His dad can t believe 'his son' is gay, then Chase quits after his dad fires Justin.
After a year Chase's dad finally reaches out to him. Justin's encourages him to meet his dad but Chase only has one thing on his mind, he wants Justin to marry him!
This is a cute story from a new author to me but I was hooked from the beginning.

A good read from Candice Blake
Justin is back from travelling the world and ready to try settling down. He's in New York and finds himself as a receptionist in a real estate firm until he can make his way as an actor.
Chase has worked his way up to working just below his father, the boss of the real estate firm. A forgotten appointment by Justin leads the company to possibly losing millions in a deal but he steps up and admits to Chases' father that it was his fault as Chase is getting ripped a new one for messing up with such a major client.
The relationship that builds between the two is very quick, going from nothing to something in a matter of days despite Chases' inexperience and being unsure. The two begin spending all of their time together, sharing their past and present. I like both characters, the way Justin is carefree and open to new experiences as opposed to Chase being set in his ways, so focused on work. They are good for each other but I found it hard believing in their relationship becoming what it did within such a time frame. It would have been good to see more of Chases' best friends as supporting characters and maybe see Justin interacting with others. (Also who looks after the dog all day.....??) I loved their exploring of New York, as a city I would love to go to and Justin had only just started living in. Central Park sounds lush, especially their secret space.
For me it was an enjoyable read but things just moved a bit quick and sometimes didn't seem that involved.....maybe I just found it hard to connect with the characters.
I would recommend reading it, as a new read from Candice or if you're a fan, looking for a nice, easy read.
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review

I really liked reading about the story between Chase and Justin and watching how it changed from what it was to what it became. I love straight to gay stories when written well and this is definitely in that list. The initial meeting is cute as hell and quickly lets us know how the dynamics might go between the two men.Chase finds it too funny when the new receptionist, Justin, does not know who Chase is and does not want to let him go in for a meeting that Chase has scheduled with his father without an appointment. It is great to see how Chase plays with Justin a bit before giving him his card as he heads in for his meeting, leaving Justin mortified that he attempted to stop the actual Director of Operations from doing his job.
I loved this book but I do not want to say too much other than that this is a story well worth reading and I hope that this review might help someone take the step to get this book for their own.

This is an easy and fun read with a little angst. I love the premise of this book but I could not connect to the characters at all. The story felt rushed and that made it more difficult for me to read it. Justin and Chase did not gel as a couple for me and at times the writing felt forced and did not flow well. Chase was straight until he met Justin and spent time with him. Justin did not want to fall for another straight guy and have it end badly like it did when he was in high school. They do face some obstacles but still decide to be together. My favorite part of this book is Justin's love for his dog, Jerry.
I was given an ARC to review by the author.

That was fun, I really enjoyed this book. Justin was a real sweety, and then we get Chase, a 6ft 5' giant sex god, with a very noticeable bulge apparently lol. Their first interaction was fun, their second was an oops moment. It didn't take long for Chase to see Justin as someone special, even though Chase is straight, apparently.. it didn't take long for Chase and Justin to start spending time together as friends, it was fun to watch them grow close and eventually fall in love. There was minimal angst, a little stress, one scary moment for Justin, and a great ending..

Charming

Very sweet , steamy and charming story with likeable characters. I enjoyed the relationship build up between Chase and Justin and their very different personalities. Their chemistry was hot and their story emotional satisfying.

I read to escape reality and tales like Chase are perfect for that as they are high in romance and steam and low in angst and drama.

This is my first book by Candice Blake and I am looking forward reading more of her books , specially if I can read it through KU as I did with this book.

At first Chase and Justin are a very unlikely pair. Justin is a free spirit who has traveled all over the world. Chase is down to earth and very straight and narrow, in more ways than one. I do think they were exactly what each other needed though I felt things flowed a bit too smoothly. I would of liked more backstory on them. There were some things that were hinted and touched upon briefly that would have given the story more depth. Over all I found it to be a sweet easy read.

Love this book. I enjoyed it from the beginning to end. I love the fact that when Chase was given an ultimatum about Justin he chose him and stood up to his father. I suspected all long that the father knew his son was gay but didn't want to admit it. I really want to know how all of Chase's other friends reacted after they heard about him and Justin. Looking forward to the next book that Candice writes.

Great Story about love

I enjoyed this romance novel. It was very interesting to see two different points of view about life. Both men had different experiences that made them who they were. I couldn't get enough of either characters. Candice Blake did a phenomenal job they out the novel in being describing their feelings to one another. The only bad comment I have to say is that, I wish there was a part that explained if Chase reconciled with his dad.

Cute

This was a very quick read. The first half of the story was pretty strong. Chase was learning to relax, let go and enjoy life once in a while. Justin appeared to be confident and self assured. I liked their friendship, but did not like how Justin became more insecure. It was nice to see Chase figure out his own goals and step away from his father.

A really cute story that I enjoyed. Great storyline that has drama, romance, some conflict and ups and downs. Chase and Justin are wonderful characters with great chemistry and a strong connection. They make really good friends and lovers and I really liked seeing their relationship build and flourish and how they help each other.

Loved it, Chase and Justin knew what they wanted from the get go and that was each other, when it comes to chemistry you can't let nothing get in the way because its meant to be and that's what happened here, they were meant to be, so they let nothing come between them. I will be reading this again, I highly recommend it

A Sweet Story

It was sweet, but too unbelievable. I liked the characters, but for a world traveler Justin was not at all world-wise, and Chase was not near dominating enough. For $.99, however, it was worth the read.

Beautiful

The ending of the book is beautiful and makes you rethink your life, it makes you rethink what the true meaning of life is. The ending made me rate this book as 5 stars instead of 4 stars.

Why oh why, they have to be versatile.

I can see the pattern how Candice Blake write her story, a straight guy who falls for a gay man. Just like her other books, it was quick and light read with a little angst.
