I like a lot of these authors and was looking forward to reading the book.
I confess that I was a little disappointed because the story has all elements that have already been widely exploited in all stories about bikers.
All very predictable, but we ended up involved in history and wanting to know what happens to the characters.
As always the writing of authors is impeccable and I will continue supporting their work.

This was an ok read. The writing style was good. The story was too stereotypical for me. There were a lot of things where I was shaking my head while reading. Spoilers ahead.
I didn't like the hero to be a manwhore.
Didn't like the fact that all women in heroes life were mean and crazy. Baby mamma and his mother. Both very cruel and bitchy.
Hated that the President of the MC didn't get rid of his old lady. Come on, wake up. He should be a badass alpha male, with an entire MC behind him and he let this slip of a woman abuse his only daughter and his best friends child? Not believable.
Heroine was too naive about her parents murder. It was so obvious at the phone call that her step brother wanted her dead too.
Of corse the sweet little daughter falls in love with heroine instantly. And her friends. Big happy family.
Baby mamma was described as cold and a bitch. All because she came from a bit of money it was implied that these kind of people are always cold and heartless people. All people in this book with "money" are cruel and bitchy. Yeah. But not our heroine, no of course not. She just inherits the money from her mother and step-father. It's not like she choose to be rich. OMG, really?
I just don't like books like this, where some women made out to be assholes (every women not part of the MC) and of course the heroine is sweet and caring and calm and perfect. And she wears a size 12. ( I don't have anything against it, but it implies that skinny or woman with a size 6 or 8 aren't capable of being nice and friendly. Don't like it.)

I absolutely love this two authors and their biker series. This is the first book in a new series and it was off to a hot start.
Veronica has trouble coming and the only one that can help her is her father. Her father who is the president of the Riot MC, and the only one she can go to when she's in trouble. But now her father is on his way to jail for a month and he has asked Van Scott to watch over her. And the last thing Van wanted was to babysit a spoilt rich little girl, when he has his own baby mama drama.
But when he finally comes face to face with Ronnie he knows this is not going to end well for him. The two of them are attracted to each other from the minute they meet and they know that its only a matter of time before they get together.
Lots of drama and lots of hot chemistry between these two. And definitely a good start to a awesome new series.

What a great way to the start of a new MC series by these two talented ladies. Van and Ronni have chemistry beyond belief and the love they both have for Cline is heartwarming; even Denver has a place in my heart with the way he is with Cline. I love the way the ladies brought back some of the people who they gave us in the MC series before this. This was a win, win with everything involved so if you can handle some lusty love, along with coming out on the other side of darkness, bikers acting like true bikers, and love that is beyond all this is a book that is perfect for you. I can’t wait to see who they give us next from Riot MC.

Surprisingly, I liked this story. I wasn't a fan of the Grim Bastards series but I really liked both the hero and heroine in this one. Yes, there was a few things that were on the unbelievable side and a bit 'typical' but overall, I liked it. While this book won't be everyone's cuppa, it worked for me. Looking forward to reading more in the series :)

Refuge is the start of a brand new biker series by Emily and Shelley and as always I am hooked!
I’m a biker girl through and through and for me to throughly enjoy a biker series, it has to have 3 things.
Sexy AF bikers!
Kick Ass Heroines!
Raw and Gritty storyline that push boundaries and leaving you wanting more!
This has all 3 and then some. Their stories always pull me in and this one was no different. I get so immersed with the storyline that I feel like I’m apart of Riot MC and with all the characters new and old (Grim Bastards are apart of this too!) you can’t help but feel like one of them!
Their epilogues always leave me wanting more and I can’t wait!

Such a great book. I loved the characters, secondary characters and the plot. They all meshed together so well I couldn't put the book down. Veronica (the main female lead) really made this book. I can't wait to learn more about her 2 friends, they were funny as all hell.

For an MC book this was just too boring. Nothing really happens until 92% when Van's mother shows up with a gun. Her revelation of what she did to Brass was twisted but that doesn't make the book good.

Amazing read!!!
OMG was super stoked to have something new by Emily and was NOT disappointed. This new series is going to be amazing. Really loved that we got glimpses of old friends and met some new with this story.
The storyline just flowed brilliantly, couldn't wait to bump the corner of my kindle to turn the page. Seriously devoured this book was so excited. Hot AF sexy alpha men, strong female, angst, even a little humor, oh and hot sex for the topper. And a big oaf of a dog named Denver. And Van's daughter whom came out of her shell with the help of a good woman.
Cannot wait to see what comes next in this series. Please be writing it now and hopefully soon I will have it in my greedy little hands. This is everything you want in an MC read so don't miss out!!

My first time to read this author’s book. Took me by surprise! Loved Van and Veronica’s story! It had all the feels, intense yet sweet and hot! Fantastic!

Finally after a while I read a good biker book,this duo of authors along with M.N.Forgy,Joanna Wylde,Anne Malcom,Jordan Marie,are one of my one-click biker authors,and they wrote one of my favorites couples and biker books.I was so excited before starting to read this one,it have everything that i love in biker books,alpha strong biker hero,sassy,independent,likeable heroine,the MC family and the drama.
The Story
Van and Veronika aka Ronnie(but only Van can call her that) meet when she was 6 years old and Van was a few years older.Van mother Kendra is the old lady of Tito,Ronnie father.Kendra hate her and it's making her life a living hell.19 years later Van now is the VP of the Riot MC and Tito is the President.Veronika is working like chef in one of the most elite Chicago's restaurant.After the suspicious accident where her mother and stepfather died and few accidents where she will lost her life ,Veronica know she must call her daddy for help.And she must return home.Tito is going behind bars for 30 days so he let Van to pick her up from the airport and for 30 days she must live in his house.From the moment Van see her he know he is in trouble,he wants her.Their chemistry between them are of charts but Van must think about his daughter Cline and how will react Tito.Veronika always have a crush on Van,and she absolutly love Cline and while their love story progress they must go through many obstacles,starting from Van mother,Van ex,the dead threat on Veronika.
Overall great biker book,i devoured from the first page till the last.The writing is great,the supportive characters are great too,and the story plot progress realy quick.I loved that Ronnie knew from the start she wants him,also her relationship with Cline is great too.I must say in this book is missing same angst ,i mean some club wh..e drama.Because i was not sold on the fact that Veronica could seet and chat with the club wh.rs were banging her man not that long ago.

OMG where do I even start. Emily and Shelley are the top of my list of co-authors and I am so glad they have started a brand new series. They’ve given us new people to love and brought back some of the originals that I love and miss as well.
When things start happening around Veronica AKA Roni she realizes that she needs help. She calls the one person she know who always help her, her father Tito president of the Riot MC. Unfortunately this time Tito is on his way to jail for a little bit and can’t be there directly to help her. Instead Tito asks his VP Van to keep her safe while he’s behind bars.
Van hasn’t seen Veronica since she was six years old and he doesn’t really want to see her now. He’s got enough problem with his crazy psycho mother and daughters mom. But, for Tito he’ll do it no questions asked. When he sees Roni she’s not the spoiled little rich girl he thought that she turned into. Instead she is beautiful, full of tattoos and has a mouth to keep up with him. But when he sees her with his daughter Cline everything changes. She is the mother that his daughter always deserved and never got. The more they're together, the harder it is for Van to keep his hands off of her and their clothes on.
Van is doing everything he can to find out who is after Ronie and trying to keep Cline with him full-time instead of having to let her go back with her mom. With the help of his brothers and the Grim Bastards MC, they will do anything to find out who is trying to hurt his girls.
Van is the perfect brother, father, he’s just everything that’s perfect. I love how he put everybody before himself and his needs just to keep everybody safe.
I absolutely loved Veronica too. Even though she wasn’t Cline’s mother and just met her she loved her and when she looked at her she saw herself when she was a little girl. She would do anything for coin not to feel the way she did. She’s the perfect old lady for van.

Veronica aka "Ronni" is in deep trouble. The kind of trouble that could get her killed. She knows there is only one man who might be able to save her, and that is her father, Tito. Her father is the president of an mc, so he should have no trouble protecting her. There is just one problem. Her father is going to prison for three months. Tito only trusts one man with his daughter's life, and that man is Van Scott. The last thing Van wants to do is be a glorified babysitter. That all changes the day he gets a look at Ronni. He tries his absolute best to stay away from Ronni, but this weird connection that they seem to share will not go away. It's not long before things between these two start growing into something more. Still, Van is determined to keep his distance from Ronni, but that's kind of impossible when he is her bodyguard. He vows to protect her and nothing else. Well, that lasts all of 30 minutes. This chemistry between them will not be ignored. Little by little, these two start to build a relationship. The only problem is there are outside forces hell bent on keeping them apart. Is the relationship they are trying to build even worth it, or should Van walk away?
Let me start by saying that I think Shelley and Emily are all that and a bag of chips. Their writing flows effortlessly,and it is difficult to figure out which one is writing at any given time throughout the entire book. The characters are very well developed and super easy to relate to. I really fell hard for Van. He is a strong,sexy alpha male who just so happens to have a very caring heart.

This story grabbed my attention.I found myself immersed completely into this world and stayed there the entire book. This was a really good read. The sexual chemistry between these two is so strong that the sex scenes scorched my kindle. I loved these characters in this world. I enjoyed seeing the Grim Bastards in this one.I connected to these characters in this book book right away. I honestly could not put this book down.I read this book in one sitting. I cannot wait for the books that are going to be coming out in this series in order to give all the characters their own happy endings. This story has a couple with strong chemistry and a strong connection, love, family, a daughter, enemies, danger, hot sex, a lovable dog, and a love that eventually leads them to a happy ending. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. This is an addictingly good new series! I highly recommend reading it! I need more. I did not want to leave this world. There are too many interestingly new characters that I need more information on and to do so, I need their stories. I cannot wait Ladies! Hurry! ;) I loved it!

This is the beginning of a new and exciting MC series by Emily Minton and Shelley Springfield.
From the start I had a hard time setting the book down. It captured me immediately.
It was filled with complex characters who always protect what's theirs. I wouldn't want this any other way. Some part of the book were difficult to read. I had a hard time with the verbal abuse aimed at Ronnie and Cline.
Van, like his dad and Tito picked the wrong woman to start a family with. Despite the Hell known as Regina, his baby's mamma, he's opened his heart and home up to his Ronnie.
Veronica is forced into hiding and with Tito away the only person he trusts with his baby girl is Van.
Van takes this responsibility series and the pair quickly turn their lust and passion into something more. I appreciate that the authors didn't fill the book with unnecessary drama.
I enjoyed the book but parts of the storyline with her step-brother Miles wasn't believable.

A somewhat predictable but decent start to this new MC series.
My most favorite things about the story was the flow of the writing, the basic bones of the MC & Veronica's father, Tito.
My least favorite things... well, I wasn't absolutely sold on the chemistry between the Veronica & Van. I'm a big fan of insta-love but this wasn't convincing enough. I think a longer, more in-depth story would've made a HUGE difference where chemistry was concerned.
Another thing that was missing for me... angst. Yeah, there was Van's horrible mother but that's about it. I was expecting club wh*re drama but that was a big fat bust; an eye-rolling one at that. Like I really buy the fact that Veronica can hang out so sweetly next to the wh*res that were banging her man not that long ago. #whatever

I can’t ever say a bad word about a Emily Minton and Shelly Springfield book. I have loved every single thing they put out. And this book wasn’t any different. Van is the VP of Riot MC and is asked to watch over Ronnie(Veronica) when she comes into some trouble. They knew each other once when they were kids but haven’t seen each other in many years. Of coarse when they come together the attraction is off the charts. I couldn’t put this book down!! Every chance I got I was reading it. I loved Cline too. Of coarse when I found out her name I was thinking what kind of name is that. But after you find out how she got her name it’s sweet. I seriously can’t say enough good things about this book. I will definitely be reading it again and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Great job ladies as always.

Veronica (Ronnie) is the Riots Presidents(Tito) daughter. Van is the son he never had and his VP. When Tito must go to jail for 30 days Van is out in charge of Ronnie. This was one of those books that you couldn't put down. it grabbed me from page 1 and I just had to know what was going to happen. Ronni has gotten herself into a bit of trouble, she goes to her dad for help but knowing he is going to Jail he turns to his VP Van for help in watching out for her. Van first met Ronni when she was just a child, knowing she is all grown up he doesn't want to have to babysit her now. Having problems with one woman is enough for him, that is until he see's her. at first he try's to stay away but there is something about her that draws him to her. The chemistry between the two are off the chart. I can't wait to see where the rest of this series is going to go.

I love MC books. This book was no differently. I always enjoy Emily’s and Shelley’s writing style. The storyline is cohesive and well thought out. The characters, Van and Ronnie, are great. Van, aside from being the VP of Riot MC, is the father of an adorable little girl. He way he treats his daughter makes him hotter than any other man. There just something about a man with a daughter that melts my heart. Ronnie has suffered a lot throughout her childhood. Now she is in danger and needs her fathers help. Although she falls for Van, Ronnie falls for his daughter Cline even more. She finds similarities between her and the little girl and quickly become good friends.
I really enjoyed this book. Can’t wait to see how this series plays out.

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Riot MC series and ends in an HEA. Some of the plot lines are still up in the air, though. Ronnie’s dad is president of Riot MC. She spent some time with him, but most of her time with her hateful mother. Her step brother places her in danger, causing Ronnie’s dad to put her under the protection of the MC, especially his step son, Van.
>Of course Van and Ronnie get together, but it is their relationship with Van’s daughter that is the true gem in this story. Ronnie is rough around the edges, but so sweet to Van’s little girl. Van is also a sweetheart when it comes to his daughter, as he fights to keep her and Ronnie safe. This book has a lot of MC scenes that Van and Ronnie both fit in easily. The MC lifestyle is not sugarcoated. No matter how loving Van is, he is still a member of a drug dealing group. There are a few plot points that are left unresolved, especially the story line leading to the Vegas crew.

A great start to this new biker series.
Veronica has had bad news and the best place for her right now is with her father. He's the president of the Riot MC so there's no better or safer place to be when trouble comes a knocking on Veronica's door. But the thing is, her father has to go to jail for a month, so he's had to ask Van to watch over her while he's away. Van is not happy, he knows he used to know her years ago but the last thing he needs is baby siting duty to some spoilt little rich girl, he's having enough of his own baby girl problems.
Their first meeting after years apart stuns Van. Ronnie is now a stunningly beautiful young woman, and Van's immediate reaction is that "he wants her", but she should be off limits so how on earth is he going to be able to keep his hands off her.
The attraction is felt both ways and so Van and Vi pussy foot around each other. The chemistry is out of this world, but there's more to contend when the possibility of a treat to Vi's life becomes known.
An exciting thrill ride is full of intrigue, suspense and sexy bedroom action.
I'm looking forward to more Riot MC reads, and highly recommend this one!

Emily and Shelley have done it again with a brand new MC series! The Riot MC is intense, sexy, and oh so hot! After reading book one, if the other books are this good then I want them ASAP! I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down.
Veronica and Van grew up together. Her dad was with his mom and what an awful mess that was! Poor Veronica was harassed by his mom and my heart broke for this girl. Living with her mom wasn't much better and then tragedy struck.
Veronica finds herself needing protection from the club and her dad is the president so she comes back home. Van is her 'babysitter' while her dad does a little time in jail and Van still pictured little Veronica as the sweet and innocent girl she used to be. Wrong!! She really rocks his world in more ways than one.
Knowing it's forbidden to be together spurs them on even more, but their passion cannot be denied and this fire cannot be put out. They are two strong characters that are meant to be in every way. I loved all of the club members and cannot wait to read more of this series!

First I have to thank the 2 authors! I was in a funk and unable to read a book haven’t for the past three or four months.
But this book got me out of it!!
The story was so captivating that I had some trouble putting down!
This book is a Parallel story to the Grim Bastards. It start of With Van & Veronica
Veronica Cash is in trouble, the kind that could leave her dead. Knowing she has no choice but to ask for help, she calls in her Daddy for help. She ends up depending on one of his brothers to keep her alive.
Van Scott has always thought he would to do anything for his club, but he never guessed that would involve the President’s daughter living in his house.
These 2 authors did it again with this story!! This book is fast pace!! No cheating! But so captivating and again I did not see the ending coming! Seriously I was so shocked. I hope with all my heart that we will get another book with one of the other brothers! I’m glouton to learn what’s going to happen next!

I really enjoyed it. This book surprised me. It didn't go as I thought it will. And while Veronica come to the club because of danger, the story more focuses on Veronica and Vans connection and going ons in the club. The 'danger' didn't come knocking on clubs door, though it seems it was taken care of, but makes it seems it may in the future. I'm looking forward for next book.

Loved it!!! Didn't put it down until I finished it. Van and Ronnie were amazing together. I loved Ronnie and her friends together. They are a family and proved it many times. I can't wait for the next one!!!

This story has a lot of depth and suspense from the first page to the end, it is the first book I have read by these authors and the first in this series. I love a good MC book and this was no exception, it kept me interested and I loved the characters, or at least most of them. There were a few that I don't think anyone was supposed to like, I also loved the cuteness of one particular character. Well written and it has a great flow throughout, it had everything I love in a story and I'm glad I bought it.
