~Damion~

My daughter, Dayshia is my entire life, even as I grieve her mother, who dies way too young. I’m convinced I’ll never love again, and even more sure, I don’t want to. I end up back in my hometown of Silver Springs, where my parents will now help me raise my daughter, while I try to make amends with the brother I wronged. I propose a vision of expanding my mom’s café into a chain restaurant, starting here in the Pacific Northwest. The challenge of it keeps me from falling into total depression and boredom. And the perfect person to help with that, unfortunately, is PR consultant Kaeja Ingalles, who also happened to be my wife’s best friend.

Kaeja has tried in earnest to keep check on me and my daughter, almost as distraught over my wife’s death as I am. But I don’t have the patience to handle her grief, along with my own. I’ve shunned her attention for a long time. But my daughter? She takes complete comfort from her… and I find I can’t keep them apart. I’m sure she and I will never be anything. For how could we ever move past Ireena? We can’t. But oddly enough, I seem to be the only one who understands that.

Raw. Real. Emotional Romance. Writing provocative and darker themed romance that always finds its happily ever after!

With 50 plus, full length books there is a story for everyone!
Cowboy romance? Got it! Small town... yep. Big city rock star? Covered! You like a little suspense? Yep, got a few of those too.

Most of my books are standalone stories in connected series. Whether it's the setting, theme or family connections, my series are often multi-generational and span decades. While each book is a complete story, beloved characters will pop in and out of these sagas. I stick to new adult, contemporary and western romances, with tons of emotion and all the feels tucked into them.

I live in the rainy area of Western Washington, and spend as much time as I can traveling to destinations all across the state, where I do all things outdoors.
Many of these locations become the settings for my books.
I earned my business degree from Western Washington University, and worked for several years in the construction management field before turning to writing full time.

Better Than I Expected

This book was tough to get into at first. The betrayal perpetrated by the main character, as well as the weak justifications and not so subtle attempts to rehabilitate the character of another vile individual, were tough to swallow. Thankfully the book got better as the chapters progressed.

It was the last book of a series of four, and I might have passed on it if it weren't for my OCD 😁😁😁, but once I start something I'm just compelled to finish. Overall, it was worth it in order to get the whole picture as well as resolving a myriad of unanswered questions.

Buy it, read it and enjoy.👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

Damion Willapana is a widow and father to Dayshia. Damion is struggling with the recent death of his wife, Ireena, and how to raise Dayshia on his own. Soon he begins to rely on Ireena's best friend, Kaeja, for help but is causing him to hide from his grief?

Kaeja Ingalles was best friends with Ireena since they were children and she has seen a side to Ireena that no one else has. She struggles with her loyalty to Ireena and her own happiness that she finds with taking care of Dayshia and helping Damion.

When Damion decides to move back to his hometown with his brother Devon, he starts his new life and focuses on the cafe and on Dayshia. When he sees Kaeja again will he decide that his heart has healed or will he worry too much about the past and lose his chance at happiness?

This was a good book about healing and starting over.

So from the previous book I was a little mad at Damion for everything that happened with him, Devon and Ireena but when Devon moved on so did I. I felt horrible for Damion for everything he went through with the death of Ireena and how he had to find a way to raise Dayshia on his own. I was so happy that he and Devon were able to move on and came home together to begin again. I loved that he had his family around him which gave him the strength to keep going.

I felt bad that Kaeja was alone after Ireena's death but I loved that it was Claudia that slowly began to bring Kaeja out and get her started with teaching yoga and everything that followed. I was so happy that a friendship grew between the two of them and I did understand why Kaeja had guilt after everything that happened between Claudia and Ireena.

I was so happy when Damion and Kaeja took a chance and got some time away to figure everything out but I was definitely worried about what was going to happen when they got back. I felt horrible for what happened when they got back and my heart broke a little for Kaeja.

I can't imagine what Damion was going through with Dayshia and everything that they discovered. As a parent there would be so much guilt and worry and my heart broke for them but I knew that because of Chet, they would have some extra insight and strength to get through it all.

My heart shattered with one scene between Damion and Dayshia and then Kaeja showed up. That hopeless feeling that Damion was going through I completely understood and feeling so helpless to solve the problems that your child was faced with. I was so happy when Kaeja really realized what Damion was going through and she needed to cut him some slack.

The end was great and I was so proud of Kaeja and Damion for how they were helping other children!

Damion

Damion (Son Series Book 4) could be read as a stand alone, but it would be better if you read it as the series and actually if you read the Sister series first as well. This book is about Damion (who we learned alot about in Devon's book (3). This book will have you feeling so many things you probably didn't think you were capable of for Damion. I ended up loving his character and how he still feels quilty for what happened, how he stepped up and is a great father to Dayshia, knowing that even though he has help, he is the one who has final say. He also owns up to mistakes he's made and realizes he needs to make better choices in the future. Hence why he and Kaeja no longer talk. But is what they were feeling real? Or was it a manifestation of their love of Ireena? You need to read this to find out if Damion is willing to take a chance on love again? Can he let go of his guilt? Can he communicate with others. He also is faced with some stressful things with his daughter, how does he react to that? This book deals with grief, guilt, 2nd chances, finding love and happiness. Leanne always deals with real-life events or situations in her books, and this one is no different. Personally I ended up falling in love with the man Damion truly is, and I hope you do too.

We all have our own way of dealing with grief and Damion is no different. Both he and his late wife’s best friend, Kaeja appear to be the only two people who genuinely have a gut wrenching overwhelming and desperate need with their feelings for the loss of Ireena. Will Damion ever come to terms with the guilt he carries over his treatment of his twin Devon, coupled with the sudden loss of his wife Ireena.

He and Kaeja find comfort with one another in their quest to move forward with life after Ireena. Both miss her terribly and struggle day by day. What does the future hold and how will their relationship develop? Are they even ready for one?

I felt the emotions, the anguish, the uncertainty and the fear in Damion as well as the love he had for his daughter. I ached for him, I wanted to comfort him and I also wanted him to see what was before him with Kaeja.

As with all of Leanne Davis’ books there is an amazing connection with the strong and likeable characters. She has the talent to make them come alive to the reader. Her descriptions of places are so clear you can easily feel as though you are experiencing the sense and smell of the location. I could imagine I was on the beach and hearing the surf!

This is a beautifully written story which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend to you.

Damion is struggling to start his life anew, trying to find the calm that comes from family and familiar. Taking over his mom's café with his brother while learning to be a single parent and grieving for his dead wife. Slowly day by day things get a little bit better. He has a wonderful relationship with his little girl who quickly became his everything. As life begins to smooth out and he has a minute to sigh, he realizes that he is still missing something.

Kaeja has also lost her best friend and only real family she has. Her connection to Dayisha and Damion are the only things that help keep Ireena close to her. But soon the comforting in each other becomes to dependant and there is some concern, so the only thing to do is step back. Good think she has work to keep her focused.

After a long time apart, a chance meeting and new friends bring Damion and Kaeja back to each other. Is it possible that Ireena was their only connection or could it be that they had a connection and there could be more if they allow it? Will Damion be willing to share Dayisha? Could Damion find love again?

I enjoyed the characters of this book but there were some times where I wanted to smack Damion. He struggled with explaining his feelings and did a good job of leaving Kaeja confused. I have enjoyed the different challenges that had been brought out in this series.

This was a pretty good story. I was glad for Damion and Kaeja to find happiness after losing Ireena, and I enjoyed seeing a bit of Damion and Devon becoming close again - though there weren't many pages spent on that reconciliation. This installment told more about Ireena and Kaeja's history, and it gave more insight into what Damion and Kaeja could love about Ireena, but it didn't make me like her any more than I did in Devon's book. I enjoyed the interaction between Damion and Kaeja, but I was not thrilled by all the time spent in their heads. I needed more dialogue or action, which would have made me like this story much more. The author is talented, and I liked Damion and Kaeja; but this book wasn't a favorite for me.

How you go from hating somebody to loving him?
Not so easy but completely possible.
Devon and Damion - two brothers, two stories.
While I loved Devon and wanted for him to find his happily ever after, I just couldn't understand his brother's betrayal. He got what he deserved with Ireene, right?
After this amazing book, after all through what Damion was put to, I understand.
I understand and I started to fall in love....with Damion, with his sweet daughter, with this book and the whole family.
Leanne Davis wrote an amazing book, delivered complet story with all mixed feelings, all characters that stays in your mind after the last page is reader.
Thank you Leanne for this five star book.

I have read the entire Son series to date and when I started Damion, I knew I would be a wreck. We finally have the story we have been waiting for. Damion is not only enduring the loss of his young wife, trying to figure out how to raise his precious daughter, but the guilt of betrayal he caused his twin brother. Kaeja is Ireena’s best friend and is completely lost without her best friend. She reaches out the only way she knows how, through Damion and Dayshia. Can they all find happiness again or are they destined to live a life without love? Grab the tissues and be ready for an unforgettable story.

This was a wonderful ending to the Son series! Damion's wife passed away unexpectedly and he is reeling from the aftermath. He and his family had a falling out due to the affair he had with his brother Devon's girlfriend. Now he is having to face grieving for his wife alone. Kaeja was his wife's best friend and the two of them are the only ones who remember the good times they had with Ireena. This book was about love between Damion and Kaeja but it was so much more!

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️

I don't even know how to convey my feelings After reading this book! I cried so much for Damion!! All the things he goes through with his twin, then losing his wife, and on top of that, then finding out his daughter is autistic,,, it's a lot to deal with all at once! But with the love of his family, and his wife's best friend, he makes it just fine!!
I really loved how this book touched on so many levels of how people grieve differently, AND how having a child with Autism is NOT the end of the world!!! It's just a new way!
This is such a beautiful story of love , loss, and finding your way!

Damion
(The Sons Series #4)
Leanne Davis

I enjoyed reading Damion's book from this series. I found it was an easy read and difficult to put down. It helped that I read the Damion and Devon's parent's story in "The Remaining Sister" from "The Sisters Series." Damion was wrote in the same depth and detail as every other book. I like that what occurs within the pages is something that may occur in real life. Damion's wife passed from SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection). Also Damion's father & daughter are on the Autism Spectrum.  This is one thing that I've found I enjoy about reading Leanne Davis's books.

I enjoyed reading Damion and Kaeja's love story. Their relationship may not of started out in the most ethical way. The grief they felt from losing Ireena brought them together as they comforted one another.
After having a year apart, they reconnect at Devon and Claudia's wedding. The deep feeling they felt and tried forgetting for one another was still there. This pair helped each other heal and to find pure happiness.
Damion found a second chance at love, happiness and a FOREVER with Kaeja.

I'm excited to see what more this amazing author has instore for her readers in the future.

I can’t believe this is the last one.... why am I gonna do now?!

This is Damion’s story, and the fallout of his wife’s sudden death. We also get to learn more about Kaeja, and of course Devon and Claudia are present in this book too. I love the fact that Damion’s daughter is autistic, just like Chet, as I have my own little boy with similar qualities. Amazing characters, wonderful writing. Yes. I would recommend this series!

Damion is a widow and father to Dayshia. Hi wife is dead and he must raise his daughter alone. Damion moves back to his home town and has family to help him raise his daughter. The book is full of heartbreak and growing up to see what wrongs they did, but Kaeja is a breath of fresh air to him. Sometimes Damion could be cruel the way he made Kaeja feel at times. The book is a good standalone and definitely worth reading.

Coming into this book, I didn’t care much for Damion. I didn’t like how he broke his twins trust. As I read more about the man he was, he grew a little on me. He was an awesome dad despite the hand he was give . He cared but but his kid first. Seeing him reconcile with his brother and move on with his life with the help of his family and fall in love again was sweet.

The fourth entry in the series only strengthens the excellence. It is a standalone story even though the books are connected. A lot of drama and issues are confronted to keep you turning the pages. Don't miss this one.

Damion and Kaeja's story starts sad but ends happy. It tells the struggle of Damion falling in love with his deceased wife's best friend. It also tells the story of a parent finding out that their child is on the autism spectrum. Loved this story.

Another great story by author. She always finds topics we can relate to and Damion and Kaeja's does not disappoint. Damion comes up against so much. They find their way to each other.

Wow this story really is so much more than a love story. It explores grief, forgiveness, and understanding.

It is the fourth in a series though each book is a stand-alone with separate couples leading the story. This couple you have met before in the other books. Truthfully the hero has been a bit villainized in a previous book which was appropriate in my mind. Some his life choices have taken him on a challenging path.

Our heroine is unique and real. I love finding out what her backstory is and admire her allegiance to her friends even when she doesn’t agree with them. She really gives clarity to her friend who definitely was a villain in a previous book. I still don’t necessarily agree with that person’s choices but I get why they were made.

Ummm adding a child to the mix is always icing on the cake to any good story in my opinion. This element definitely gives some surprises in that area as well.

This book is filled with characters and you get a full story about this couple separately and on there journey to finding each other. Happy Reading Everyone!

Of all the books in the Sons series, this was my least favorite. I liked the fact that the characters were flawed (everyone has flaws and that is what makes someone attractive and relatable), but they were a little too flawed for my taste. I was looking for a redemption angle for Damion but there was no 'Aha!' moment when I read the book, absolving him of the awfully terrible thing he did to his twin. He sounded very repetitive and it felt like he was trying to justify his actions without proper penance. Kaeja's character was well-written and her relationship with Dayshia was very sweet. I had trouble understanding Ireena's character. Again, I was looking for an explanation for all the things she's done and I expected it to be a good one too but it never came. She was portrayed as protective and nurturing toward her best friend Kaeja but at the same she didn't have any motherly instincts towards her own kid? That felt convenient, something to make us not feel too bad about her untimely death. Overall, aside from a few moments here and there in the story, I did not feel very invested in the lead characters and their journey towards their happily-ever-after.

I wish I could say I loved this book and I understood and loved Damion, but honestly, I just didn't. I get that he was in love with his brother's girlfriend and he couldn't help how he felt, but it's just wrong on so many levels to not only sleep with your brother's girlfriend, but your twin brother no less. And then they only tell him because she got pregnant.

They just blurted it out and they weren't very apologetic about it. And she was not likeable at all. I know they explain her personality away because of her childhood, but I just couldn't sympathize that much with her. At some point in life you need to take responsibility for your own actions. I also wasn't thrilled with the fact that he slept with his wife's best friend else after his wife died. I get that it was supposed to be healing their grief and all, but I just couldn't buy it.

Not my favorite from this author and it's nothing to do with the writing, it's more to do with the personality of the characters. 2 1/2 stars

After what he did to Devon, I was fully expecting to not like Damion, instead I found myself relating to his insecurities. And cheering him on.
Always, always....Leanne Davis reaches into the darkest recesses of your heart and brings it to light.
I forgave Damion. His strength was hard won. Forgiving himself was hard won. Liking himself was hard won.
Being deserving of love was hard won.
It was a beautiful battle, that we have all fought or are still fighting.
Leanne gives us all hope.

This book was very emotional and very well written. I think this one is my favorite of the Son Series. The bond between twin brothers, and the bond between two women who grew up together and were closer than sisters even though they were so different in their own ways. They only had each other due to bad childhoods and parents. I have Loved every book in the Son Series. This Author, Leanne Davis writes wonderful series of books that can be read as stand alones, but are much more interesting if you read them as a series beginning with the first one since they do relate to each other. I was drawn in from the very first book that this Author wrote and have read her last two series of books. I do plan on going back and purchasing any other book previously that I may have missed getting because I love the way she writes. I normally give a little synopsis of the book, in my review, but i just couldn't with this one because I loved it so much, I would have told most of the story. This is a must read. You will love it! I want to thank this Author for her wonderful stories that she has told of family life in all of her books. They are so true to life, you will get hooked as I did.

It's plain to see that Damion is struggling, and it's heartbreaking. His wife is gone, he is having a hard time raising his toddler daughter, and his grief in hurting his family is humongous. Having Kaeja makes Damion not feel alone. She not only is a caretaker to his girl, she seems to be the only one who grieves with him, and who understands his massive loss. It's sad when they realize their connection is too strong, too fast, too soon, but I think it helped them do a little growing and a little healing before analyzing what they could mean to each other.
