Cassie Madson doesn’t believe in true love, fated mates, or happily ever after which is why when she’s approached by a matchmaker for a marriage of convenience, she agrees immediately. She needs a place to hide from her dangerous ex-boyfriend and the backwoods of upstate New York sounds perfect. She’ll vow to honor this stranger sight unseen, but she won’t love him.
Edon Rule believes in two things — the importance of his pack and the sanctity of the mate bond. When his new bride arrives, he recognizes instantly that Cassie is the only woman for him. He’s shocked when she doesn’t know he’s a shifter. Even worse, she declares that the marriage is only a business deal.
With the full moon nine days away, Edon has only a short time to convince Cassie that her true love exists — in the form of a werewolf!
It’s written in a way that resembles a fourteen year old girl living out her most secret fantasies by writing them down, with this novella then being the end-result. I couldn’t help but cringe.
The guy is a growly alpha male wolf-shifter who everyone loves and respects, and the girl is viewed as nothing more than a lust-object with no use beyond being the dude’s human “mate”.
This entire relationship was based on sex, and the sex itself was just horrendous. It was not hot at all.
The way these people acted honestly had me laughing out loud. And not in a good way. No, I was laughing at them. Especially at the guy. He was so over-the-top and ridiculous, I couldn’t take him even remotely serious.
Another short, sweet, and hot read! This is book two in the Mail- Order Bride series, featuring four talented authors that each write one book in the series! This one is by Ella Goode and I have to say I really enjoyed it... and now I’m curious to read the rest of her work!
This particular book is about a young woman who is running from her dangerous ex, and right into the arms of an Alpha- wolf!!! She has no clue that her future husband is the head of his own pack! Oh yeah, and no clue he can shift into a wolf!! Lol! The attraction between these two definitely indicate they are true mates!!! What will happen when she finds out her man isn’t just an animal in bed!!!
I loved the characters in this one, and I wish this author would make this into a series! I loved the pack members as well and would love for them to get a HEA too!
I highly recommend this one, it can be read as a stand alone! I truly wish this was a full length book instead of a short story!!!
Wow... I’m so happy right now, this was SO, SO, good!!! Amazing short, sweet and sexy smutty story, and PERFECT hero!!! The only reason why I’m not giving it the full on five stars it’s because it NEEDS an Epilogue! Seriously, just that it would have been just as perfect as Edon himself! Soooo in love with him! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
For years, I have waited for this. For years, I have brushed aside all invitations from humans and wolves alike. I wanted to save myself for my mate, and my patience has been rewarded with the sweetest flavor in all world.
So cute. Love a guy who believes in fated mates who also waits to meet his before having sex. Even tho he's a virgin, he's "very skilled" of course.
Cute and light and a lot of fun.
Please be aware that my definition of light is about the angst level in the romance. There are some heavy things that happen like some descriptions of past abuse by an ex and some violence when that ex is around. But I loved how the main characters fell in love and the heavy themes didnt drag this book down.
4.5 stars. Loved it. Sweet and sexy paranormal romance. Quick read but boy did I enjoy. Now I want to see what else this author has written. Part of a series of 4 novellas- "Mail-Order Bride" by different authors.
Interesting shifter novella, steamy storytelling, good character presentation and plenty of chemistry going on. Not only satisfying, but also, it would serve as an introduction for a series on this pack, and I would be more than ok with that -- just point me in the direction of more installments on this style, and I'm in.
Another very short, sweet romp! Wish it had been longer...but the hero was sweet..and alpha and the heroine was human and funny and scared and brave... so HEA.. just what I want in my romance!
This was my first read by this author but definitely not my last. Good story with some hot loving. If she can write a novella with the good stuff, I cant wait ti read a longer book. LOL
As this was a novella, it was a quick love. There is also fated mates. That may bother some people but it was really intense and I liked it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
I wanted more smexy times! The Hero is a virgin alpha who goes mine-mine-mine the first time he saw the heroine. Everything just moved so fast though upon the heroine’s arrival at the pack’s area. I guess this is to be expected as they are fated mates anyway.
The conflict with the heroine’s ex was just an ok filler.
Second book of the Mail order bride series. (book one-The Alien's Mail-Order Bride) Ella Goode is great at these short drama free novellas. This one follows Cassie who agrees to be a MOB to escape an abusive ex. Edon is a wolf shifter, and recognizes her as his true mate straight away.
This one has a lot more sexytime than the first book, and the couple gets down pretty quickly. Other than a quick confrontation with the ex… it’s smooth sailing for the couple.
Bottom Line- This is fluff… sex filled fluff, but still fluff. The h accepts everything SUPER easily, and there’s no drama. Totally safe, EG switches it up and makes Edon a 35-year-old Alpha virgin, (he’s been saving himself for his true mate) but don’t worry… he’s a natural, and knows what to do. Cassie has only been with the ex, one time.
THE WOLF'S MAIL-ORDER BRIDE is a sexy shifter mate love story about an alpha wolf shifter and a woman who agreed to a marriage of convenience to escape her cruel ex. Cassie didn't believe in love and she wasn't aware that her groom was a wolf. But Edon fell in love with her at first sight and to him it was essential that his mate accepts him and his love. In the end, Cassie realized that Edon was meant to be his forever.
This was a super hot shifter romance quick read! I adored Edon's fierce protectiveness and idealism. And I was thoroughly entertained by the Rule pack's efforts at matchmaking. Enjoyable read!
I liked this simple yet hot novella. It was set near Buffalo (yay for the B-lo!), the romance has the usual heat and I liked the hints I saw of the 'verse outside of this little story. It ends rather abruptly but I didn't expect twenty epilogues, so I was fine with this. I would read more from Ms. Goode.
"The Wolf's Mail-Order Bride" is the story of Cassie and Edon. Cassie is on the run from an abusive ex, when an ad for a mail order bride provides her a much needed escape. Unknown to her, her husband is a wolf shifter alpha, and she's his true mate! Quick read with kind and sweet leads, and occasional funny quips. Two good banging scenes too. My only two complaints are against the male v card and lack of epilogue. Otherwise, this would have been a much higher rating. Safe 3/5
I think this is the second book I’ve read by Ella Goode so I’m all that familiar with her writing. I don’t go nuts over grammar issues but messing up the main character’s name on the first page is crazy. The h’s name is Cassie yet she’s called Julia on the first page by her best friend and the h says Edon (H) is 35, then it says he’s 33, then 35 again. That’s the kind of shit that really pisses me off, if I was an author I would think of my books as my babies and I’ve never forgotten any of my 4 kids’ names or ages. Anyway that’s why this book wasn’t five stars for me because that’s my biggest pet peeve. Enough of my opinion and back to the story. Cassie is 25 years old, she dated Cody for three years and never knew what kind of monster he really was. He was a police officer and she first met him when he pulled her over for not signaling a turn. He told her he’d rip up the ticket if she went on a date with him. She had a degree in Accounting and got a job at a payroll processing company, she issued paychecks to seven companies. Six months ago her supervisor informed her that half a million dollars was stolen from the seven companies she handled. Apparently Cody was logging into her laptop and funneling money into an off-shore account and Cassie had proof of it. Now she was on the run from him because he wanted her out of the picture. Edon Rule is 35 years old, a wolf shifter and the Alpha of his pack. His company, Oden’s Building Supply Company makes custom cabinets and they’ve become extremely busy since a home they did was featured on TV. His Beta, Ronnie tells him she found him a wife and that she’ll be arriving any minute. The female wolf population has been dwindling for the last ten years so there is a surplus of needy males. Wolves need order and hierarchy so they know their place in the pack otherwise they’re a mindless bunch of animals fighting for dominance. When the Alpha of the pack takes a mate it seems to calm down the pack and it helps strengthen the Alpha. Not all humans are compatible with wolves but Cassie was and that’s why Ronnie approached her on Edon’s behalf. Cassie wanted a safe place to hide from Cody so she agreed to move across the country and marry a man she’s never met. When she meets Edon and the rest of his pack she feels horrible that she’s brought her problems to their peaceful community so she confesses everything to him. Edon knows Cassie is his mate as soon as he meets her and he will protect her no matter who’s coming for her.
Scars are marks of a victory. You got hurt but you survived.
This was super cute and a very fast read. Nothing new but still worth a read. It’s a real quick read if you’re going through a reading slump. It was predictable and definitely done before but that’s what makes it so great. I know what to expect.
4.5 stars. Loved this book...dibs on Edon, the man is dreamy as hell. His pack brings in Cassie as his mail order bride, of course he knows nothing about it until the last minute. He insists she’s not his mate...until he meets her at the airport. He immediately picks her up, hands on her ass, her legs wrapped around him....and smells her...in the airport. They have a hard time getting him to put her down...his control was amazing, didn’t know he could do it. This scene was both so damn funny and so damn hot. Loved it.
Cassie was hesitant after their, uh meeting 😉 and the fact her ex was a piece of shit. She fights it for about...a day or so, because she feels the attraction too. Once these two get together...holy hell is it hot. I mean...dayum...just dayum, I needed a cold ass fan up in here. “My body jerks in erotic shock. A cry flies from my throat. This is what it feels like to be truly claimed. He’s possessing me—not just physically but emotionally and mentally. He’s everywhere. Inside my body, inside my blood.” Add in the fact that Edon had been saving himself for his mate....double dibs...mine.
Just loved these two. There was a little drama with her ex, but Edon takes care of him. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was because...damn it, I wanted an epilogue with some sweet and ornery babies. But outside of that, great safe read.
Merged review:

This could have benefitted from better editing. The story itself wasn't bad, and in fact I think it had potential to be passably competent shifter smut, but the progression of the romance was too abrupt. For example, the hero, the alpha-wolf of his pack, is thinking of sending the heroine home—his packmates were the ones who ordered her for him—but the moment he sees her, he suddenly grabs her (because of his wolf), and for some reason the heroine lets him. This is literally the first time they see each other. There were a lot of moments like that throughout the novella—one moment they're wavering in indecision, the next they're in each other's pants. I would have appreciated smoother transitions here, and it might have worked better as a full-length work, but it all just fell apart in novella form. And it was so promising, too... Welp.
This book is actually connected to Beauty in Summer so if you liked that one....then..
But I gave that one 2 stars and didn't write a review. Guess I didn't think much of it. I liked this one slightly better OR I've just gotten more used to shifter shit. At the time of Beauty in Summer I still found it really confusing. :)
