The Lewis Legacy #9
Roundabout
At 17, Jensen Callahan fled her small hometown of Justis, Texas, the night her daddy was murdered. From the wrong side of the tracks, and with lingering suspicions but no answers, Jensen found a safe haven with a kindly Christian widow in Houston. Thirteen years later, Jensen finally feels settled and content as a faithful TeamWork Missions volunteer and the office manager for Doyle-Clarke Catering. When Sloan McClain walks into the office to hire the caterers for the West Texas Independent Cattlemen’s Association annual dinner, her carefully guarded life is thrown into turmoil. One meeting is all it takes for Jensen to know the tall, dark, and devastatingly handsome cattle rancher--her first love and the boy she left behind in Justis--still holds her heart.
As his late father’s only child and heir, Sloan McClain now operates the family's thriving ranch and controls their vast oil interests and mineral rights. But for all his many blessings, Sloan's days are empty and incomplete without a wife to share his life and raise a family. He's never forgotten Jensen Callahan, the long-legged, golden-eyed blonde beauty he'd dated against his father's wishes. He'd loved her, and no woman since has compared. After Jensen disappeared, he'd vowed to find her and bring her home one day, but each time he’d gotten close, she'd managed to slip away again. Sloan refused to accept the heartbreaking possibility that she never wanted to be found, never wished to return.
All Sloan wants is a second chance with his first love, but he understands Jensen desperately needs closure about what happened to her father that fateful night in Justis. Together they begin to work toward finding answers as they renew their tentative and fragile relationship. But once they discover the truth, will it set them free or tear them apart forever?
From USA Today Bestselling Author, JoAnn Durgin, the beloved Lewis Legacy Series continues with Sloan McClain and Jensen Callahan in ROUNDABOUT. A story of first love, forever love, and the peace, forgiveness, and grace that can only come from a personal relationship with our merciful and loving God.

If you have read any of my reviews, you have likely read at least one or more reviews of books written by JoAnn Durgin. Ms. Durgin has her own unique style of writing, as every author should, and it has served her well in every book she has written. Her most recently published book, "Roundabout," the latest in the Lewis Legacy Series, falls into the same category of writing, but this time, with a twist.
In the previous books of the Lewis Legacy Series, the hero and heroine meet for the first time in the early pages of each book. But in "Roundabout," the hero, Sloan, and the heroine, Jensen, knew each other a number of years prior to the actual beginning of this book. Ms. Durgin skillfully wove their history throughout the book, building on it with each chapter, making it very hard to put the book down.
If you are familiar with the Lewis Legacy series, and all of the TeamWork members, you will be delighted to know that several of the TeamWork families appear in this book. (Although each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone, I encourage you to read all of the books from the beginning. It is a wonderful series that makes you feel good, inspires you and can open your eyes to God's truth for the first time, or remind you of His truth, as it has done for me on many occasions.)
A beautiful message of love, faith, and forgiveness is shared through the eyes and life of Chloe, the daughter of Joss' and Winnie's, whose story was told in Book 3, "Twin Hearts." The message Chloe shares with a teenage gang member reminds all of us that no matter what we've done and no matter how far we feel from God, He is always waiting for us to turn to Him with His heart full of forgiveness and unconditional love.
It's February, almost the 14th! What better time to read this beautiful love story than this month?

Lewis Legacy Series Book 9
By: JoAnn Durgin
Patiently awaiting for a story from our beloved Lewis families and our Teamwork crew, I was so excited to read book 9, Roundabout. I just love this series.
And the story of Jensen and Sloan, wow! It did not disappoint. I wanted more from each chapter. The most amazing thing from their story is the reminder to me of God’s grace only He has for me! No matter the past I have led, just like Jensen, He loves me all the way and walks along with me. And He, in His time, works out my life in the most perfect ways. Even ways I never thought possible. Jensen never knew her life would lead the roads it had done and in the end, her story filled her heart with the most passionate grace only God gives. So much history, Texas style, you will fall in love with Jensen. And even Sloan, the guy that seeks out Jensen and when he finds her, the story is riveting, emotional and keeps you laughing and a cry’n. I loved how JoAnn weaved history, love and grace in with not only Jensen’s story but with our Lewis families and the Teamwork crew we have come to know and love dearly. Don’t miss your chance to read this story that will invest your heart to want to go back for more!

Roundabout is the ninth book in JoAnn Durgin’s Lewis Legacy series, so while I enjoyed getting to know Jensen and Sloan, it was also a treat to revisit some of the “older” TeamWork members. Every one of the Lewis Legacy books promises revisits with old friends and meeting fascinating new ones. And Roundabout delivers.
Beautiful Jensen’s insecurities made her relatable, and as usual, Ms.Durgin created a complex, intriguing character. Speaking of characters, Jensen’s quirky and unreliable car is almost a character to itself. Sadie’s antics made me chuckle more than once.
Sloan is a swoon-worthy hero, unrelenting in his gentle pursuit of the girl he’s loved for years. There really is something about a cowboy—especially one who is grounded in his faith. Faith played a vital part in Sloan and Jensen’s renewed relationship, but it also created some heart-warming miracles for others in this story.
Roundabout is a well-rounded story, so much more than a romance, and it earns five stars. Recommended!

Book 9 of the Lewis Legacy doesn't disappoint
Couldn't put my Kindle down. I was drawn in by the character's back stories. And kept reading as they meet again and work through resolving the past and move on to a future loving and following the Lord together. I also eagerly looked forward to resolution of the mystery shown in the back stories. Then a surprise towards the end, and the handling of it, was really special.
I am always touched and encouraged by the Lord's love and truth in JoAnn Durbin books. I am grateful for her sharing the gift the Lord has given her in writing great stories that draw the reader in and that display the Lord amazing grace and love which is life changing. Thank you.

Roundabout is another beautiful romance suspense in the Lewis Legacy series, with fully developed characters that have the kind of depth that makes the reader feel like they are invited into the lives of people who could easily be their best friend. I love that the characters are not perfect and that they work on resolution of problems, rather than the unrealistic drama of many romance novels. Roundabout has the kind of suspense and romance that touches my heart as a reader and not only keeps me turning the pages, but keeps me thinking about the characters long after I have put the book down to get back to my own reality of work, family and chores. Needless to day, I loved this book!

Great Read.
Although both of the main characters had a difficult background in totally different social settings, both had parents who offered no spiritual guidance. They loved each other in high school. Later on, major changes. Separated by many miles, God worked in both their lives in amazing ways before they were reacquainted with one another. God's ways are awesome in this story to the point you feel you have made new life long friends. Recommended for adults primarily.

Beware – lack of sleep guaranteed :)
Should I be upset with the author for the lack of sleep? LOL
I must confess that I fell in love with JoAnn's books! This is another great read!
Christ is in the center of the story, and this book really inspires to share His love with others. It’s a great reminder of His works in our lives and our need to trust Him in every situation. It provides hope and Roundabout charm!
I would love to read a story about Chloe (grown-up), which might even bring Isaiah in the picture again :)

What a Beautiful Love Story
JoAnn pens a beautiful love story about a couple that found God and a second chance at love.
The characters leap off the pages to draw you closer. I loved reuniting with previous characters and catching on their lives.
The Lewis Legacy series gives you a warm fuzzy feeling and keeps you coming back for more.
If you love a beautiful Christian romance then this is the book for you.

Jensen and Sloan’s story is truly amazing. Jensen’s story is really sad. Watching how her life changes will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next to her. The characters in this book are all very special people who are like a big family. You will feel God working throughout this whole story. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review.

Wow! This series just gets better and better! Childhood sweethearts torn apart by circumstances beyond their control brought together again in God's timing. Couples from previous books come together to support an election but also an abduction. Powerful messages within this book will touch hearts and leave you wanting more.

I loved this book. Once again, JoAnn has written a superb love story. This one also includes a suspenseful situation that truly had me on the edge of my seat. The location descriptions give me a great picture and the conversations reveal much about the characters character. The scenes between Chloe and Snark are quite intense. The love story of Jensen and Sloan is heartwarming and very lovely. Well done, JoAnn!!!!!

I have read all of the Lewis Legacy books and have truly enjoyed them all. This one had lots of high points and a great plot. This is the story of Jensen and Sloan, who were reconnecting after 13 years apart. Their story is woven into the fabric of the greater TeamWork family, so we catch up on the lives of couples and families featured in other books.
