Jack Sanders built his career as an army intelligence operative on his uncanny ability to anticipate what the enemy will do next — but he never anticipated the trouble he's landed in. Removed from duty, his future on the line, he'll have to accept a truly unusual mission to redeem himself. His orders are clear: head to Montana, marry General Reed's daughter, and secure the family's ranch once and for all from the drug cartel trying to get a toe hold in Chance Creek.

Everyone knows Alice Reed gets hunches about what might happen. What they don't know is she's got one blind spot: her own future. But she's watched four men arrive to marry her four sisters. It doesn't take a psychic to predict her father plans to send a man for her, as well. But when Jack arrives, Alice knows she's in trouble. He seems as aware of the future as she is; and he wants something from her she swore she'd never give to a man her father sent —

Her heart.

The 5th book in the Brides of Chance Creek sees the long awaited return of General Reed. It is also the courtship of daughter Alice and Jack Sanders. Like her sisters, Alice is determined that she will not follow her father's matchmaking scheme. But there is danger looming around the ranch and it spells danger for the General, his five daughters, and their men. Will everyone survive?

Lots of action and romance in this novel. A real page-turner! I loved the fact that the daughters and their fathers were able to say what was on their minds. The scene between Lena and the General was my absolute favorite. As well, I liked Jack's back story as it made for an interesting conflict as well.

Now after the marriage of five daughters, one would think I was finished with the Reed family but it looks like General Reed has found the perfect (honorary) daughter for the dependable Corporal Emerson Meyers. Looking forward to more action and romance in Chance Creek!

So as I mentioned, Cora Seton's books have become an escape addiction. My Confession is in the review for the first book, Issued to the Bride: One Navy SEAL (Brides of Chance Creek, #1).

This is the continuing series about five very special daughters who run a ranch called Two Willows.
Their father has been away for years. He is a general and when he lost his wife, he couldn't deal with the pain of being at the ranch and around all the things that reminded him of her. This left the daughters to develop deep resentment for the man.

These five daughters raised themselves up. They are strong, with unique personalities and talents. There is a mystical element to the ranch and women, each with talent all their own. When the General decides to send them husbands, it does not go down easily.

It's time for Alice, the last daughter, and the general has sent her Jack.

Book 5 in the Brides of Chance Creek is the long awaited return of the father of the 5 daughters of Two Willows. It’s the highly anticipated courtship of daughter Alice to Jack Sanders. Alice has visions, vibes, predicting the future, with one exception her own. Jack and Alice go back and forth because he doesn’t believe in her mystical abilities.

There’s just so much to love about Alice, she’s mysterious, enchanting and drew me in from book 1. She sits on top of the refrigerator to draw her dress designs, her cat Tabitha calms her anxiety, the family stone in the heart of the hedge maze assists her with answers.

Jack’s parents were murdered when their home was being robbed and he witnessed it from hiding under a bed at just 7. Afterwards he was adopted by 2 FBI agents who learned of his ability to detail, his father was able to train him how to use this nearly photogenic abilities as well as providing him a loving family.

Danger continues to loom around the ranch just as it has in the entire series. Will everyone survive these attacks and events?
I absolutely love this series, I could never decide which book I loved the most.

I picked this installment after a long while hoping to give closure to the series, and even as it did give me a sense tying loose ends, I see there is a new book in the series and a cue for a spinoff series as well.

I remembered the comedic element just in the middle between magical and ridiculous in previous books, and that is present here as well. So if you are a demanding critical reader this is straightforward not for you... if you have a healthy tolerance for strange, ilogical plot elements, this might pique your interest. Again we find a soldier "assigned" to marry one of the sisters by orders of the General (the girls' father) who has left them for years because of reasons to manage a magical ranch. In order to enjoy this you have to overlook some issues about magic, extra sensorial perception, real army legalities, free will, female self determination, patriarcal asset control and separation between affection and monetary interest... if you are ok will all the above, you are golden ! 🍀👌🏼

Alice and Jack were well matched in an inner logic to this story sort of way, they were hot together as well, and their story was well structured to fit the overall series narrative so they come together perfectly and give a sense of rounding up and closure to the big story of the five sisters + the main couple in this book at the same time.

Personally, while finding it more than half over the top unbelievable, I find myself overlooking most of it while reading the pages. The element of Alice's mother was emotional and sound even with the magic and supernatural angle on which it is based. On top of it, it was steamy, and had a healthy dose of suspense and action that was necessary here as it had been present before in the series (though it does not make much sense in real life, but who cares?).

I'm glad I sort of finished the series, it was an ok enjoyable read.

General Reed does a great job pairing each of his daughter's with men who are going to protect and stand by there side. The story between Alice and Jack are no exception.

Alice is as sweet and feisty as her sisters. Since she's the last to marry she knows that the knock on the door is meant for her. She can see aspects of the future however her hunches don't include her love life. I loved the element of surprise up for her. While I'm not a fan of supernatural, I found this to be one of my favorite parts of their relationship. Perhaps it's because who this supernatural whisper represented.

Jack has a similar yet different sense of wonder. He's hesitant to believe Alice but after a few weeks of denial accepts her sixth sense. It's because of his acceptance his world opens and the group can defend what's theirs.

This book was everything that I was hoping and waiting for. There were many sweet moments in the series and this book but by far the sweetest was when Alice and Jack went ring shopping. It was a total tear jerker and wonderful tribute to her parents love.

This has been a fun, formula driven, romance with a touch of suspense series and I've enjoyed it immensely. I've listened to the audio and all the books were good. As the series hit the midpoint it lagged a bit. I would not recommend binge reading and they were basically the same formula.

This last book is Alice's story. Alice Reed had a psychic gift passed down to her from her mother. She is also a gifted costume designer, and, a bit naïve. Since she is the fifth sister, she knows that her father, General Reed, is sending her a husband and she has, more or less, accepted that. After all, it has worked out wonderfully for her sisters. She also knows that the troubles for Two Willows aren't over yet.

Jack Sanders is an Army intelligence operative and, while not psychic , has powerful abilities of observation. They have served the military well and saved lives, which is how he ended up in the General's outfit. He is resigned to the end of his military career, he just doesn't want to go out with a dishonorable discharge. So, off to Chance Creek, Montana and the mission of marrying the General's last daughter, Alice. Just one tiny problem. He doesn't believe that Alice has any psychic abilities and the maze has shut him out. 3 1/2-Stars

Gotta love it, you think it’s the last story in a wonderful series but no there is always more to look forward to from Chance Creek, the most romantically loved-up town in Montana.

Alice Reed the last of the Generals daughters to get hitched.
Alice is sweet sensitive creative and she has a fiery spark in her that lights up around Jack Sanders but has the General really sent the right man for her?

I loved this one the most I think, so much happened it really was amazing.

It's always a little bittersweet when you find a series that you really enjoy because as much as you want to get to read everyone's story, you're also a bit sad because then it means the series is over. Fortunately, it looks as though Cora Seton is far from done with the residents of Chance Creek! This is the story of Alice Reed, the last of the five Reed daughters. Their father, the General, has been sending men to the ranch to marry each of the girls. And just like the other books, it seems as though the General once again has found the perfect match for Alice.
Have to say I really enjoyed the pairing of Alice and Jack. Two characters that at first glance seem like total opposites but actually have more in common than it seems. This is the fifth book in the series and I definitely recommend reading these books in order because so much of the drama in this book is based on previous events. However, you don't need to have read the other Chance Creek books in order to enjoy this one but you might recognize some familiar faces from town. All in all, a very enjoyable read.

Alice Reed is the last single daughter of General Augusta Reed and his late wife Amelia. He sends Jack Sanders, an Army intelligence operator with a logical mindset for Alice in Issued to the Bride One Soldier. Alice is the daughter that gets visions of the future and sometimes the past so they have a totally different prospective on life to overcome. So far the General has found four husbands for the first four daughters and expects Jack to become his fifth son-in-law.

The threat to Two Willows continues but the family does not know from what direction it will come and is in for a couple of big surprises; first from the General himself and then from an unexpected source of the main problem and attack.

Jack is attracted to Alice, fascinated by her abilities and willing to investigate to try to explain them. The magic is not logical so faith is required making their romance special as he becomes her rock and she becomes his everything. This is a great romantic series with lots of action, but now the General has an another daughter (he has taken under his wing) to find a husband, so another book is coming. Yeah!

This is really the same as all the rest of the books. Alice is set up with Jack by the general. She doesn't want a man to define her, she's her own person. They fall into lust...let's add a little irritant and then...the end...lol Oh wait, wrap everything up a little too nicely.

Family Drama with Charm

Like the other books in this series, this novel is a romance with a little mystery, great locale in beautiful Montana, and just enough family drama to add some pathos to the mix. Mature scenes between monogamous couples, but little or no foul language.

This is a fun series. While each of the books can be read on their own it's a much richer experience to read all of them. Seton has created fallible and likable characters with "feels" that are relatable. I ended one book and wanted to know how the General's soldiers would pull off the next marriage.

Some readers have complained about the probability of the General's actions and some his daughters' reactions (i.e., if they hated the General so much why did they go along--they didn't really). A case could be made for the naysayers regarding the General but that places too much focus on elements that are the story sparker and not the story itself. I feel it worked, kept in line with the characters, and was part of the fun.

There are so many magical elements sprinkled throughout this series (which is especially heavy in this novel because of the heroine). The bits of the unexplainable magic (it's what made the daughters and the ranch who they were) as well as how the general was able to pull this all off (it was part of his character and nature) are what help make the stories charming and also remind us that we live on hope and love no matter how we choose to see it or show it.

By far the best in the series. The General finally comes home. Yay! His morning “muster sessions” were hilarious. He treated everyone like they were soldiers. Meaning his daughters. Alice was great. Loved being in her head and seeing her flashes. That ending had me in tears (Alice trying to come back to herself). And the scene with her mom and the General at the jewelry store.....looooved that.

The “bad guy” was obvious to me. Not to the characters though (obviously). And Jack (and every other soldier in the house) with all his knowledge and intelligence totally screwed the pooch. That’s one of the things that was super annoying to me in this entire series. ALL these men are military/SEALS but none of them see the danger until it’s too late. We never actually get to see their “badass” side. Well a little at the end there we do. But not enough for me.

Alice and Jack are my favorite couple in the series. Then Jo and Hunter. Lena was my least favorite.

Anything For Love!!!

For eleven years Colonel Augustus Reed stayed away from Chance Creek and his five daughters. Four were married and he never made it to their weddings, his choice not theirs. Now he found himself home after he suffered a an attempted murder.

Lieutenant Jack Sanders, an Army intelligent operative who was really great at his job. He had the ability to anticipate what the enemy's next move would be. But he never saw the trouble he would land in. His future was on the line and to redeem himself, he'll have to head to Chance Creek, Montana.

He always dreamed of finding the kind of love his biological parents had. Now he had to accept and arranged marriage, he was to marry General Reed's daughter and make sure the family ranch Two Willows was protected from the drug cartel who was trying to get its hands on it.

Alice Reed could get glimpses of what to come but she couldn't see her own future. When Jack showed up at the family's ranch, she knew what his arrival meant. He was there to marry her but she wasn't about to give a man the one thing she promised she never would....her heart.

Both Jack and Alice put their cards on the table. He realized that he was wrong about her when he met her in person. And even though she said she wasn't going to marry him. She knew that fate had different plans for her.

They both were intrigued by each other, as they grew closer. She found herself opening more to her powers just like her mother did in the past. Both women had strong men that kept them steady when they gift seemed to be too much.

Love the bond between Jack and his adoptive parents, Richard and Janet. Having the General home lead to the girls and their father working things out.

The person behind all the trouble the Reeds were having at Two Willows was someone from Augustus' past. When the enemy passed away, his offspring took over. But just like his father, the culprit underestimated the people at Two Willows.

ISSUED TO THE BRIDE : ONE SOLDIER is the fifth installment in Cora Seton's BRIDES OF CHANCE CREEK series. What an extraordinary way to end this amazing series. It was breathtakingly alluring, heartwarming, fast-paced and oh so sexy.

ARC for honest review with no compensation

The continuing saga of the Brides of Chance Creek, Book 5 by Cora Seton and what a way to continue this series as the men keep coming to Two Willows! ! !

This story is about Alice Reed, the final unmarried daughter, Jack Sanders the last soldier left in the task force unit and of course, General August Reed along with the letters from his deceased wife. When the General reads the letters he chooses another man from his unit which he has handpicked to marry each of his daughters and keep them safe from harm and to make Two Willows (the ranch) prosper.

Alice an accomplished designer and seamstress of period clothing also has second sight like her mother, she can see into future that is except her own future. As she has watched her sisters fall in love and marry the men their father has sent to the ranch she knows it now her turn to meet the man she will ultimately marry except he doesn't believe she has second sight.

Jack Sanders is the last soldier being sent to Two Willows to marry Alice, who he has comes to love from her picture but doesn't believe she has second sight as people can't really see the future...he has second sight but in a totally different realm. He's determined to win her heart and keep the ranch safe from another attack. Little does he know it's coming from multiple sides....

But as usual something always happens to put everyone in danger…Can Alice and Jack proved to one another that second sight no matter how it looks...it is real and finally put a stop to whoever is determined to destroy Two Willows or will second sight be what destroys the ranch and their HEA??

Lots of sexual tension, visions of the past and future, opening of the minds, hearts and finding love. Once you start this book you won’t be able to put it down until the last word is read…..thought this was the last book in the series...but why should the General stop matchmaking now!!

Jack is going to have it a lot harder than the other guys the General sent. Not that any of them had an easy time winning the hearts of their Brides but Alice is different.

Jack believes there is a logical explanation for everything and nothing is magical or mystical. Alice on the other hand, has visions, not always clear but they come true and there is no explanation.

Jack has also been trying to see the maze and the center stone, sending drones in to observe only to be foiled at every turn. When he tries to enter the maze it closes, and he thinks it's something Alice is doing with some sort of mechanism. He's determined to figure it out.

Top all that off with the problem that started in the last book with all the daughter's off the ranch. The General is injured and coming home. Not an event they are looking forward to.

Alice also has a commitment to make Civil War ballgowns for Landon Clark, a producer, to review and he keeps changing when he'll arrive, bringing it closer instead of postponing.

Talk about tension, when the General arrives he believes he is in control. His daughters are stubborn and he is going to see a bit of their wrath.

Getting ready for the holidays, a plumbing issue with a new plumber to fix it, a producer filled with his own self importance and Cass's best friend Wyoming staying with them since she lost her job combine to make this a family drama of epic proportions.

Oh did I mention the cute aide the general has with him? He kind of likes Wyoming but she has her eye on the plumber.

Lots of problems for Jack as he tries to make sense of Alice's gift, I found myself laughing and cheering on the strong women of Two Oaks. I even cried a few times as the General works his way toward peace with his daughters.

Plus the added surprise in the general's letter from his wife, giving us yet another book in this series!

I have been on pins and needles waiting for this release. Finally, we get book 5 of the Issued To The Bride series! Cora Seton knocks it out of the park with an incredibly interesting and intriguing premise and we are kept on the edge of our seats to the last page!

General Augustus Reed has five daughters that he hasn't seen in eleven years since his wife died. But his very special wife left him letters to open throughout the following years that have guided him to help the only way he could emotionally handle. As he has followed her guidance in sending a military man back home to his four other daughters, who have each successfully married, he now prepares to send Jack Sanders to his ranch for his last daughter Alice.

Jack Sanders has something to make amends for and he'll do as the General has bid to save his career. Even if it means heading to Two Willows Ranch to woo a woman into marriage that he has never met. There has been repeated trouble there and it may not be over but he is determined to do everything he can to help make the ranch safe and to keep his future wife safe as well.

Alice Reed has a special ability to see the future and although she and her sisters, along with their new husbands, have already fought off drug dealers that wanted their land she knows there is more trouble coming. But when her father sends her a husband that doesn't believe in anything he can't see and prove how will they ever find a way to live together as husband and wife?

When trouble finally does arrive it will take every family member working together to survive the fallout. And will the General finally find his way back to his daughters before catastrophe finds him?

When my husband bought me my first Kindle in 2012, I came across a book by Cora Seton [a brand new author to me at the time] called, The Cowboy's E-Mail Order Bride (Cowboys of Chance Creek), and I was hooked completely.  I have, subsequently bought and read each and every one of her stories available in the UK and I will be reviewing them to try to encourage others to enjoy them too.  This is book 5 of The Brides of Chance Creek and it can very easily be read as a standalone as well as part of this series and others of her stories that are set in Chance Creek.  Jack's career is set as an army intelligence operative and his orders are to go to Chance Creek and marry Alice Reed, the General's daughter.  She had seen her four sisters get married but never saw him sending a man for her to marry!  But Jack also has a mission to complete and that is to stop a drug cartel from getting a place in Chance Creek.  Now as I've bought and read all the previous copies I have already 'met' Alice and so I knew that it would have to be some very special man to be her match in marriage and Jack fits the bill perfectly.  If you like adventure, family there to help out and offering support, a great adventurous storyline with magnificent characters that are so well described by Cora that it is almost as if I 'know' them as they are so believable.  get yourself a copy and 'meet' Jack and Alice and all their friends and family and experience with them their journey to their HEA.  I LOVED this book and look forward to A Seal's Resolve [ SEALs of Chance Creek book 6].  In case you haven't already realised, Cora Seton is none of my all time favourite authors.
Definitely recommended!!!

The romance and resolve in these Issued to the Bride books is so sweet that the steamy doesn't even matter. I love how strong these women are, and that includes Alice, the heroine in this book. She has her heart set on a future as a costume designer in Hollywood, and she's looking forward to leaving the ranch. Of course, her gift of seeing clips of the future and the hold the land has on each of these women might give her pause. When an opportunity comes along, will she take it and maybe lose out on the love of a good man who simply followed his heart instead of his orders?

Jack Sanders ended up under the General's rule after he did something that may not seem so bad, but it was against the orders given him. Being the last one to ship out to the General's ranch, he's had plenty of time to think about Alice, to look at her picture, and to fall for her from a distance. When he meets her, everything becomes harder to accomplish than he thought it would. And when danger rears its ugly head at Two Willows once again, all of his hopes and dreams could be destroyed in an instant.

These stories are meant to give us a feel-good warmth in our hearts and a happy ending that leaves us smiling, and that is exactly what this one did. Was Alice's ability a bit far fetched, especially toward the end? Possibly. But, it's a story, and stories can only be told the way they unfold. This one had twists and turns that weren't expected and or course a second sight that didn't just affect the heroine. It was sweet with a bit of steam and a lot of conflict that was resolved at the end of the story. That's what I was looking for, and that's what this story gave me. I loved it.

Alice Reed is the youngest and fifth daughter of General Reed and the one who doesn’t want to be married. Although she has accepted that it will happen on one level, she isn’t sure if she is willing to marry someone who doubts her abilities. Alice can see what might be and is often right. She doesn’t like to call herself a physic but she can see into the future.

Lieutenant Jack Sanders is an Army intelligence officer who managed to get himself in trouble and landed on General Reed’s special squad of misfits. He, along with the others, have been promised that they will get an honorable discharge and a portion of the ranch. Jack is the last of the five misfits that the General has gathered together. All five have been strong willed, intelligent, willing to do what is right even if it means going against the established rules. Each of the men that the General has gathered has a special talent. Jack’s talent is gathering and analyzing data. He notices details that most overlook and manages to connect the dots and finds the patterns.

Can Alice and Jack find a common ground and realize that their talents mess and work together perfectly? Will they both be able overlook that the General has matched them? Will the General be able to say that he has successfully matched up all of his misfit soldiers with his five daughters?

I was provided with a copy of this book from the author ahead of time in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. Ms. Seton always writes a book that makes me go back and re-read it a few times before writing my reviews. I have loved her well written books since reading my first one.

Issued to the Bride One Soldier: Brides of Chance Creek Book 5 is by Cora Seton. This book was to be the final in the series; but Wyoming just wouldn’t let go; so she gets her own book. However, this book brings her back into the family as Alice gets her turn to marry. The General sent Jack to her.
Alice had the ability to see the future so she knew before he showed up that she would marry Jack. She just didn’t want to give up her dream of becoming a costume designer for major films. Sometimes, her way of seeing the future was through feelings. She felt like someone was listening to her when jack put a bog in her purse and at her table in the restaurant without her permission. He did it to protect her but she saw it as interfering. She kept feeling something was wrong but couldn’t get a handle on it. It interfered with her making costumes for Landon Clark and his Civil War Movie. Was he here to cause problems?
Jack had known for some time that he was to marry Alice. He had learned all he could about her and her belief that she could see the future. If he was to capture her love, he had to trust her; but to believe she could see the future? That was a lot to ask. Meanwhile, he sets up surveillance on the ranch to keep harmful influences out; but will it work?
The General finally comes home to face the ranch without his wife and the wrath of his daughters. Can he continue to bluster his way through the relationships between them?
This book is really good and definitely ties up the lingering questions one might have about the series. The good part is we can look forward to just one more book about Chance Creek and the Reeds.

Soldier for the Fairy Princess

This series follows the 5 Reed sisters in Chance Creek as they manage their late mother's ranch, despite "help" from their father, General Augustus Reed. The General's latest plan is to send military men to the ranch expressly for them to marry his daughters. To this point, the General's plan is working. His latest effort is to match Jack Sanders, US special forces soldier with his daughter, Alice. Jack is pragmatic and extremely analytical, almost a savant. Alice is a bit fey, known for her glimpses of the future, a talent she inherited from her mother, Amelia. She's also beautiful and a talented costume designer and seamstress. She has hopes her costumes will be selected for a movie. She doesn't have time for romance, or Jack. But Jack needs to find a way to convince Alice she does have time for him. He loves the Two Willows Ranch, the family at the ranch calls to him and Alice, despite her otherworldly tendencies, pulls him to her. But violence has plagued Two Willows for the past six months, in the form of a drug cartel. Gun fights, devastating fires and the horrors of war have haunted them. Family dynamics and the stress of violence has everyone on edge. The General's influence is more invasive than ever and the drug cartel influence still stalks the ranch. Intrigue, mystery and suspense carry through this book. Alice's and Jack's talents must save the day for Two Willows and the action proves exciting and harrowing. Will this story bring peace to Two Willows? You'll love reading it to discover the truth.

It seems like I have been waiting forever for Alice and Jack's story, and now that it's finally here, I couldn't wait to get my paws on it! Wow! Ms. Cora has continued to raise the bar as far as her characters and stories go, and this book is no exception! Be prepared to laugh and cry, sometimes, both at the same time. Ms. Seton has a wonderful knack of bringing her characters to life in vivid color complete with emotions that you can feel pouring from the pages. With a story that is quirky as well as down to earth, you won't want to put it down once you begin.
Alice has been on edge for too long! She knows there's something bad that's about to take place, but what? Or, to who? With her chance at making it big in the costume design business approaching, and her sister Lena's wedding happening today, anything could go wrong. So when the nuptials are all done, and the party has begun, and she's still on edge, she resorts to "hiding out" in the kitchen. And when the knock at the door finally comes, she knows it's for her. But will her "suitor" simply bring her him? Or will he have the bad news she fears is a result of her previous actions?
The time Jack has been waiting for, for the past six months, is finally upon him! Will he measure up? Or will the beauty he's come to think of his, find him lacking?
There will be many hurdles, and lots of pain, but will this couple complete Amelia's orders? Or has the General finally erred in his judgement?
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.

The ending of the Chance Creek series are is it. This is the best book in the series I have always wondered about Jack. He seemed like the strong silent type, but this man has a heart of gold and is a protector. Alice as you know can see the future and she sort of wants out of Chance Creek or does she. She is a dressmaker and is popular among the people of Chance Creek she know it is her turn cause now all,of her other sisters are married off and happy. Also the General is back in town after getting hurt and the threat is not a over for the girls and the General.

It may even be someone from the General's past. Will the girls and their father finally make up. Things are real tense now in the home. We were also introduced to someone new the Corporal whom may also be getting a book with Cassie's best friend I cannot wait.

I rate this story five stars. And the General I kind of start to like him in this story we see
That he really loves his girl and showed them the only way he thought he could by sending them husbands not knowing that they also needed him.

This is a must read definitely..

The book seems to be about everything except the main point of the book, getting the two main characters together. Like her sister, Lena, in the previous book, Alice is all the time "I don't want to be controlled by a man" or "I don't want fate telling me how to live my life" (since she can predict the future). I liked Alice in the previous books. She wasn't as hard and stubborn in them as she is in this book. Alice always seemed sweeter. I also really like the paranormal parts of the book and love that Alice has a future telling ability. However, like the other books in the series, the characters don't really get to know each other but somehow fall in love. I've been seeing this a lot lately in romance books. Geez, get to know the other person before proclaiming you love them! From what happens in the books, to me it's lust not love as they really haven't gotten to know each other as people. Alice barely learned anything at all about Jack. He also didnt share much about his ability with her. And the author could have done so much with his ability as well, but did not. This book had the potential to be so much better. It was enjoyable, it just was lacking.

WOW Cora Seton has certainly upped her game with this book. This book is filled with so much mystery it kept me on the edge most of the time wondering what would happen next. Just when I thought I had it figured out something would change my mind.

Jack Sanders arrived at Chance Creek, Montana with some bad news. He was the last one from the General's bogus Joint Task Force for Inter-branch Communication Clarity and he was her to marry Alice, the last of the General's five daughters.

This book pulls at the heartstrings in a number of places as this family fights for each other and the love begins to heal wounds that were created when the General either wouldn't or couldn't return to Two Willows. But now he had no choice, he had returned home. But would his daughters ever make him feel like he belonged.

This book is wonderfully written and easy to follow the story and at times I even had to grab a kleenex. Yes, it has all the feels, danger, romance, betrayal but then it all comes down to love of a family for each other.

Thank you for this ARC

This is the 5th and, sadly, last book in entertaining Issued to a Bride series.

The five Reed sisters have always lived in Two Willows ranch with their beloved mother who
passed when they were teenagers.
Their father, the General, unable to cope with the loss of his wife, never visited the ranch again. Until now. The general has been hurt in a bomb attack and he is coming home after eleven years. Understandably, the sisters are conflicted about the homecoming of their controlling father.
In the meanwhile, during Jo and Connor wedding, Alice’s issued husband, Jack, arrives at Two willows.

Alice, like her sisters, knows that life at Two willows is uncommonly full of magic. She has her mother’s clairvoyance and is conflicted about it.
Jack is a pragmatist and, of course, doesn’t believe in Alice’s powers.

This is a good book, like all the other in this series.
The characters and their feelings are well-rounded.
I enjoy the magic bit because it is not overdone, adding a nice element to the whole.

I read the first book in the series, but haven't read any others until this last one. I'm not going to lie, it's not because I didn't like the series, it's because I'm cheap! I got the first book and this last book for free, I'm sure I'll get to the other three eventually (if they go on sale or something ), but for now just these two. There are plenty of hints to what I missed in the middle three books, but the author does a good job of making sure you're up to speed enough even if you didn't read the other books. But I do recommend reading at least the first book like I did (Issued to the Bride:One Navy Seal) it's free as of this post, because it sets up the whole basis of the series. Some parts get a little out there at least for me, but it made me want to believe. I don't want to spoil by giving any more detail than that. I really loved Alice and Jack and it was quick to see how good they'd be for each other. Five Sisters, five books, but hopefully there are at least two more. I'd love to see the general get his own story!
