I've loved reading and writing since I was small.
My books are cozy with a little spice. Some might be a little fluffy, but sometimes you need that to get away from every day stress!
I am an avid hockey fan. I love my Pittsburgh Penguins! I do plenty of "research" for my books by going to hockey practices and games-I want to make my characters as real as possible.

Shot At Love was the eighth book in Melody Heck Gatto’s Renegades series.

Luc Marcella was an NHL player on the Pittsburgh Renegades. He was one of the single bachelor players on the team and had a reputation for being a player both on and off the ice. He was still young and building his career so he never expected to find his one and only.

Kassie O’Connor was Kaden O’Connor’s little sister, book six. Kaden had taken over the patriarch role when their father had died and was uber protective of Kassie. The “Bro Code” was in full force with none of his hockey teammates ever allowed to date, or God forbid hook up, with Kassie. His teammates knew it and Kassie new it and it was never a problem until now.

Shot At Love was a long and slow paced read as a slow burn of a forbidden romance. Gatto developed the friendship first with a ton of push and pull about why they could only be friends. Gatto then focused on the many reasons and challenges it was forbidden. And as expected, the drama came to a crescendo with Kaden. As for the characters, I enjoyed Luc the most. I wanted a bit more depth, but I still thoroughly enjoyed him.

Although Shot At Love was part of the bigger series, and we were graced with appearances from many of our past favorites, it could easily be read as a stand-alone. Up next is Body Checked: After the Buzzer.

I received a copy of Shot at Love in exchange for an honest review. Big brothers. You can't help but love them, but you certainly can be mad at them. Especially when they're a bit overprotective. Kassie has developed feelings for Luc, but there's a bit of a problem with the fact that he is a teammate of said big brother. As if that's not problem enough, the team has an understood bro code. No dating a sister. Were rules made for a reason or to be bent or even broken? What to do?

Melody continues the exceptional Renegades hockey series with this book. While I found a couple of the scenes to last a bit long for my taste, the desire to read on and find out where the wonderful story was going was much stronger. She pulled in enough of the other characters and their background that you don't need to have read the earlier books in the series to enjoy this one, but I strongly encourage you to do so.

So I was able to read this book because I’m part of Melody’s ARC team. This was by far my favorite book in the series so far. I loved how Luc and Kassie came together. They became friends first which does need to happen. They had to worry about the code but more important was Kass brother and Luc teammate. But I’m glad they decided to well forget about both and to be happy. A few times Kaden did tick me off because he was a jerk! But in the end he saw his sister was all grown up and in love. I also loved that the WAG’s where more in the book and supported the two of them and welcomed Kass with open arms!! I also love that little bits of Pittsburgh in here. This book was series are a must read!!

Although this is book 8 in the series I do think it can be read as a standalone, though the series is fab so I recommend you read all the previous books! This book follows Luc and Kassie, Kassie is the sister of Luc’s team mate so she should be off limits, but his heart wants her. Kassie usually avoids jocks like the plague but there’s just something about Luc that keeps drawing her in. They start off as friends but soon the chemistry between them boils over and they can’t help but fall into each other. What happens when Kassie’s brother Kaden finds out?

I love this series, I loved Luc, I think he’s my favourite so far! I loved that we get to see the relationship between Kassie and Luc grow, you can feel the chemistry between them sizzle the pages. I also loved that we get some actual hockey in these books too! Another fab read from this author.

I love good hockey romance and this book fits the bill. Luc Marcella is my favorite Renegade, so far. Well, maybe not. I might have to go back and read the rest of the series again just to be on the safe side. But, for now, Luc is it. He’s a hot, young hockey player not looking for love when love finds him. Always, the best way to get love. And I loved that Kassie was Kaden’s sister and tried to resist Luc because she didn’t want to cause trouble for Luc. Luc is irresistible to Kassie, though. It was a very sweet love story with a good dose of hockey thrown in. Looking forward to the next one! I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another great addition to the series! This is Luc and Kassie's story. The author does a fantastic job developing the relationship and paints her scenes perfectly. The problem , She's his teammates little sister and off limits and also doesn't date athletes. None of this stops him though. I loved watching them come together despite all of those obstacles. It's well written, moves fluidly and is an entertaining read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
