Cloverleaf Cove #1

The Perfect Recipe for Murder

Rate this book
Arden Lynn thinks she's found the perfect home in Cloverleaf Cove, an idyllic beach town on the coast. Her new house has gorgeous view of the ocean and is surrounded by nice, friendly neighbors, including one very handsome and mysterious bachelor right next door and a former TV star at the end of the lane. There are a few eccentrics living among her but as far as Arden is concerned that just adds to her new neighborhood's appeal.

But when one of those eccentrics drops dead at the monthly neighborhood dessert and tea party, Arden quickly learns that things aren't as perfect as she was led to believe and before long she and her new friends are on a mission to figure out just which one of their neighbors isn't so nice and friendly, after all.

It gives her te possiblity to buy a house. After rebuilding and decorating it she moves. She soon makes friends an at a neighbours party someone dies. Arden suspectst something because his dish is gone. And what about Ivy. Where did she go all those years ago..... Nice places, cozy mystery, Nice characters I enjoyed this book. 😀🍮 There is a recipe in the back of the book. I made it. It tastes great my daughter tell me.

Welcome Home

A new to me series. This story was a bit different from most Cozy Mysteries book 1. The murderer was not the main character and there were several secondary character suspects but I didn't figure out who done it. Good plot and it was well developed.

Only a couple chapters in but already in love with this authors writing style and not only her main character but all the side characters that have been introduced.

Edit: Finished quickly and am still in love with this story. Cannot wait to read more of this series and by this author.

Arden Lynn has finally turned her lifelong dream into a reality and now lives in one of the gingerbread houses at Cloverleaf Cove. The transition hasn't been easy; a divorce and a curmudgeonly old neighbour mar her excitement but she's becoming part of the community. When the neighbour mysteriously dies at a social gathering, Arden believes he has been murdered. The police say "natural causes." With only her new friends to back her up, Arden begins an investigation.

Perfect world-building. The setting and the characters are flawless. The main character is in a situation that most people would kill for, er, ahem. Despite the fantasy setting, the story feels realistic and the characters ring true. And, while the book could have used one final editing sweep to root out pesky continuity errors and the like, it is polished enough for the reading experience to flow.

Cloverleaf Cove has become my new favourite setting. I highly recommend this series (based on the reading of this introductory story) for cosy lovers who desire a genuinely difficult mystery.

Cloverleaf Cozy Mystery, Bk 1, @ 2018, read 3/21/19. Fiction, cozy mystery, new neighbors, old secrets. As a child, Arlen decided she wanted to live in the doll houses she saw off the coast of South Carolina. As an adult, she accomplishes her dream, but is beset by a "crazy" old man neighbor. When he is murdered, Arlen and new friends work to solve the mystery. 3 ☆'s = Good. A fast, fun read.

Cloverleaf Cozy Cove Mystery

In this first book of the Old Fashioned Mysteries Arden finds herself coming back to the one place she feels like it is home. Savannah and Paige two neighbors soon join her on a mystery solving adventure. Fun characters that quickly become friends or suspects. A fun first read. Wanting to read more.

Loved it.

I started reading this book and couldn't stop. Read it in one setting. Cloverleaf sounds like a wonderful place to live if it wasn't for a murderer. A missing girl and three women wondering what happened to her. The ending was a surprise. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Fun Mystery

This is lighthearted and intriguing for a murder mystery, see if you can find the murderer? I just love old fashioned mysteries; they are reminiscent of a treasure hunt.😊

The writing style didn’t grip me at all. There was so much repetition, and the pacing was too slow for its genre. Someone else might enjoy it, but I knew my limits.

Have the past and the present collided in the current murder?

Loved it. She has always wanted to live here but never had the means. However divorce and winning a national Mystery competition make her dreams come true. Meeting the neighbours is thrown into disarray when one suddenly keels over. Was it natural or was it because of the story he told here about a disappearance at her house? Great characters that are full of life and a plot that spans years that is woven into a compelling read. Highly recommended for true mystery lovers.

Good

This was an interesting story. I didn't catch the clues laid out. That's what so good. And the pie recipe? From a 1940's cookbook.
