Jax Pierce is the devastatingly handsome son of terminally ill Emma Pierce. He visits his, Me-Me everyday, much to the delight of the female facility staff members. She wants nothing more than to have the unlikely duo confront their fledgling feelings before she takes her last breath. Jax arrived late into her life but he is a most treasured son. She won’t be around to help him fight the demons. However, Holiday’s strength and love could help her son process his grief while keeping the demons at bay. This was my first time reading this author and I must say I highly enjoyed this story. Jax's beloved adopted mother Emma (me-me) is in hospice care. He sits with her daily interacting with all the staff but falls in love with Holiday. Jax secretly falls for Holiday but doesn't want to jeapordize his mother's care so he loves from a far. Holiday is a nurse practitioner who loves her job and patients. She instantly falls for Jax but decides to not pursue anything so that she doesn't risk her job and license. Ms. Emma can see that both her son and nurse have a crush on each other and attempts to play matchmaker from her hospital bed.

I really enjoyed this story for several reason. I loved that Jax was an alpha but openly cried and showed his feelings for his mother. He's not some billionaire he's a man who has worked hard and he's primary focus is taking care of his mother. He even lived with her when she couldn't take care of herself. The author does an excellent job of showing how much he loved his mother and the sacrifices he was willing to make to be with Holiday.

I loved Holiday too, she is probably the most realistic depiction I've read of Black female heroines. She's clear to Jax when he isn't honest about his past that she'll give up a relationship that will hurt her and her career. She doesn't sit in the house just pouting but moves on until he can get his life together. She's far from weak and doesn't go running crying. She's honest and upfront but vulnerable.

This book was a great read full of heat between Jax and Holiday. It's no doubt their attracted to each other. It was great that Jax was seen as super attractive but wasn't focused on his looks because of his past. I would say the only thing I didn't like was that Holiday thought that Jax was way too attractive to be with her but Jax is consistently has to reassure her that she's beautiful.

I look forward to reading more by this author.

Too much sex

Interesting story, man falls is live with his mother hospice nurse and has a stalker, mental unstable ex.. I was intrigued. I loved the story and the romance between Jax and Holiday and the added stress of his dying mother, troubled childhood and crazy ex were just great, my only complaint is the sex scenes we too much and far too often. I’m no prude, I love a super hot sex scenes throughout a book but this was a little over the top for me to the point that by the end, I was just skipping scenes, other that that great read.

Jax and Holiday

This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Holiday was an amazing person. She was not only beautiful, but kind and giving. Jax was going through a tough time dealing with his mother's health decline. Holiday was exactly what he needed to get through. This book had great characters, an intriguing plot, hot sex, good dialogue, and drama. That Collette was a mess. It was hilarious when she finally got put in her place. I would recommend reading this one.

3 1/2 stars

This was an okay read. It started off really strong. But then it just became kind of repetitive. With them constantly having to tell people how they met. The last half of the book seemed so juvenile! The Hero's ex wife was just over the top to the point where it seemed like everyone was behaving like they were in high school. Plus every other scene....they seem to be $ucking. It was a bit much.

Good

Honestly, I tried to enjoy this story but ended up skipping through some of the redundant sex scenes and a few of the whine fest's. It started out good but tended to drag in places. Loved the drama but Jax should have done more to shut Collette down.. I could not figure out the fear regarding Max's dark secret or why it was a secret.

Good but TOO LONG!

This was a good read but entirely TOO long. I should've adhered to the reviews when they pointed this out. The fact she dragged out the story and brought up another old companion was just tacky. It was am OK read but I don't think she is an author I will read again.

This book was recommended by GOODREADS

And it was just that a good read....actually a great read. The secondary characters were interesting and really contributed to the richness of the story. Jax was strong and damaged at the same time. He was also somewhat needy but in a sweet way. Holiday was a strong and competent nurse who took care of
hospice patients. She met Jax through his dying mother; she was a Professional and competent. Jax was married to an absentee manipulative evil woman but instead of explaining his situation he moved forward with Holiday like he was single. He kept hinting at some type of secret but I was really surprised when the wife showed up. In some books I complain about the lack of details but this author told the story completely from all sides. I loved the humor in the book; some parts made me laugh so much. Colette was a real piece of work nasty through and through but she finally backed away and left them alone. Great story. Lots of heat and angst.

Awesome!

Renee, I love this story from beginning to end. I love when men love their women the way God intended them too. The unconditional love Jax displayed for and to Holiday throughout the story made me feel so gitty and excited inside. I loved it! I'm glad Holiday expressed her concerns and love to Jax as well, to keep the relationship filled with honesty and stability. She handled every situation for me in a graceful and classy manner. She represents a strong woman in my mind. I'm glad their relationship blossomed and that drama in their life came to an end. Now they can live their Happily Ever After. Great Read! 👍 Renee G.

Neat story

There were definitely things that left room for improvement in the writing, particularly at the beginning if the book. The characters seemed almost juvenile in their behavior. However, around 29% in the book the writing flowed better and the story line gained much more depth. I did find the authors use of whimpering, crying, screaming, and whining a little odd for a male character during moments of passion. Also, the name of one of the friends near the end was changed about two pages later as if the author forgit the name of tye character. Overall, I truly enjoyed Jax and Holidays story despite the failings in the book.

I really enjoyed this book. I wish it had a stronger title or just dropped the an interracial romance it was so much more then that. i loved the mom and Jax's relationship as well as the romance between Jax and Holiday. Their love was steeped on real emotions, need and love-I could have done without Colette for ever but I loved the valuable work that Holiday did and the relationship she had with Jax once she let him in, truly allowed herself to love him and fully trusted him! I liked that Jax owned and apologized for his drama but fought for the woman he loved.

Good read

This is my first book to read by this author. I was thrown by the multiple epilogues but they helped to round the story out. The story was okay but the premise kept being told every chapter it seemed like. I think the "I love yous" were rushed, especially since Jax and Holiday went from crushing to screwing to confessing their love without much communication or dating. Overall, it was a good read. I will try another one of her books.

GOOD STORY.

I loved reading about Jax and Holiday’s story. This was a very sad and sweet story. I loved Jax’s mom and her sister, however his wife was quite the witch. With that said this was a good read for me,the only problem I had with the story was why three epilogue? Even with that I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. This his was my first time reading this authors work, and would definitely read more of her books. Thank you Renee.

This was so Romantic

This was one of the sweetest romance stories I read in awhile. I really enjoyed the characters. I fell in love with Jax and Holiday. Their love story was a wonderful and pure love. They went through hell to get to happily ever after and it was awesome. I loved Aunt Emma's knowledge and love and the fact she knew they loved each other from day one. Great story.

One of the best stories I've read this year!

Such a FULL story and it seemed so true to life for me. Mind you there are some editing issues that distracted a bit but the story itself and the characters within kept it moving along.
I loved Emma and Lucy as the supporting characters for Jax and Holiday; their conversations and interactions also made this story more true to life. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Lindemann!

Very lovely story

I just start reading this author's books and I am becoming a great fan of hers. The story plot was fantastic. What I love about this author is that her story lines are based on showing strong independent black women. I really enjoyed this and will be purchasing some more of the books available online

Congrats on writing such a moving story. I strongly recommends this book to everyone

Holiday Drama

I really enjoyed "Jax's Holiday!" The story started out sad. Jax's mother was in hospice care, dying of cancer. Holiday was one of his mother's nurses. Jax was in a constant state of grief, but despite this, he developed strong feelings for Holiday. Holiday felt the same, but she was extremely conflicted because of the professional role she was playing in Jax's and Ms.Emma's lives. On top of that, there was a snake lurking in the wings...

Love their story.👏

Wow, my first go round with this author. It was outstanding. Emma wanted what she wanted and succeeded. Jax was no hold barred type of man. Holiday is a successful nurse that work hard at her craft. They fight their attraction but with Emma slowly deteriorating. Jax seeks Holiday for comfort and more. Highly recommended!

Too much Too soon

There was way too much sex too soon that being said I still rated the book a five because I thoroughly enjoyed it and the characters. Jax and Holiday were memorable characters as well as Collette and Ms. MeMe and Jax childhood was a oh my gosh. I also enjoyed that it wasn't a bwwm drama about babies. Have fun reading this delicious read.

Love and Loss

Jax and Holiday’s story was amazing! Two beautiful people who fell in love at first sight, but had to work and fight to be together. I enjoyed there make out sessions. Lol. They were steamy! But, collette would have gotten the business from me if I was Holiday. Lol. She was just tacky and horrible. Smh. Great read.

Good story

And was emotionally stunted until he met Holiday. Imagine him ever thinking that he was in love with Collette. She was a terrible person by the way and given too much attention in the book. I don't understand the three different epilogue either that covered about 28% of the book????

First read for me by this Author

This story took me a while to complete due to a new author for me, it took some time to bond with the cast of characters and flow of the author's writing. I would read another book by this author because she gave me what I love at the end of a book {an epilogue!} In fact, she gave me several in this book!

Lots of sex, very little substance

If you are looking for a book with a lot of sex scenes, this is the book for you. Unfortunately there was very little substance that could carry the story. I enjoyed Holiday's interaction with Jax's mom but the storyline with his estranged wife just went on and on and was just overdone.

Jax's story

I really enjoyed this book. I can identify with so much of this story. Interracial marriages usually work reall well when there are no money problems. Neither Jax or holiday had those problems. And both professional. Good story. I like the way he grew a set of balls dealing with Colette.

Great book

This was my Forest time reading this author’s book and I truly enjoyed it. Great storyline and beautiful ending. I don’t recall reading what Me-Me whispered to her before she died though, but it’s worth reading again

Good read

A love story that was real. The troubles Jax and Holiday went through worked throughout the storyline, he made mistakes and she did too, but they worked it out. Instant love worked in this story.

Nice solid fun read

Love the story line was a bit taken aback that he would compromise her position. Kind of reminded me of a soap episode victim marries the colprut. I liked his mother's saving grace storyline. We kind of lost our Alph male in the mix. Sorry.

Wow!

This book was so legit. The characters were so multi dimensional and just absolutely amazing! I can’t even describe the level that this book is on. It starts slowly with build up and by the end your body, heart and mind is an inferno! Do not sleep on this author!
