One leap from the city tower thus fulfills the Marquis of Chang Ye’s triumph in conquering the world, establishing a new era. Yet she only turns into a wisp of a lone soul, accompanying him day and night.
Didn't hate but didn't love. The story is short and easy to follow. I feel like because of how short the story is the relationship between the Sang Ge and Ziwu doesn't feel fleshed out completely. Like why did she marry him? Why does she love him and sacrifice herself for him? And when did he fall for her? Ik he expressed guilt over how she was treated by the previous emperor as a hostage but he also treated her coldly before and left her in the capital as a hostage. Because of this I felt pretty disconnected to the characters and didn't feel much angst over them being separated. Plus I don't really like the "didn't know until you lost her how important she was to you" type of stories.
This is only 4 chapters, so its a really short read. BUT WAS IT PAINFUL. Im TEARS IM CRYING AAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Fuck.
I love the translation and how its phrased, it’s beautiful and gorgeous! The story itself was beautifully woven and the utter heartbreak was painful :((. The character arcs??? Beautiful. Everything about this book is beautiful and painful at the same time.
I honestly would recommend all of y’all to go in this blind and with no expectations and just read it bc its really short!
3.5 stars. lovely translation by xia0xiao1mei here my problem with this was that it was too short haha. however, the last sentence "我回来了" is perfect because the two are finally reunited. also, i love that ML refused to marry another woman
What have I been expecting? "Mulberry song" is fan fiction, as such quality varies in the genre. I can't say if it's translation or prose, the characterization and plotting isn't the strongest point of the novel. It's short and an easy read, true, but I found the text a bit confusing/unclear at times too.
3.5 Aww okay this was rlly cute. Someone told me this was sad and they cried and I was confused?? Bc like idk it was cute and largely like a happy ending. Also who’s gonna be my Zi Wu tbh.
Also the end the end the end was ahh (spoilers) “Sang Ge.” He says, “I‟m home.” Like I’m
"Taking advantage of his moment of panic, I loudly shout out: “Marquis of Chang Ye, is eradicating the tyrant in order to bring peace to the world, Sang Ge to be able to be the wife of the great marquis, has no regrets in this life! Absolutely no remorse!”"

Sang Ge was a songstress while An Zi Wu was a dandy Marquis. But, Sang Ge knew it was only an appearance he (AZW) display to fool people. Both of them got married portraying the most loving couple. An Zi Wu left the country with his troops, trying to capture it from the evil Emperor. The evil Emperor let out all his frustration towards Sang Ge. On the day An Zi Wu and his troops arrived at the city gate, Sang Ge decided to sacrifice herself. The story continues with Sang Ge's spirit following An Zi Wu.
There were only four chapters and the writer tried their best to capture both Sang Ge and An Zi Wu's emotions. It's tagged with tragedy and had an open ending whether they truly meet again after death.
