Born to a house where women were only seen as tools to birth children, I was already in my twenties. I was standing on the crossroads of life.
At my fingertips were close to fifty photos of different men. They were the marriage partner candidates my father had prepared.
Those who took the initiative and volunteered because they wanted his company, and those that were recommended to strengthen our ties with other companies. There were various reasons, but I was to marry one, and build up a child.
That was my reason for existence in this house.
I don’t think I can love another.
I wonder how everyone believes in something so shapeless as love. It was only a marvel to me.
That I couldn’t do something any standard person could must be because I was a person who was never properly loved.
I put a break on the countless unanswered questions I held since my birth, and stared down at the photos around me.
Somehow, I feel like I'm being force fed romantic stories. But it doesn't leave a bad taste at all. It's that overhanging possibility of death, isn't it? Oh, and tragedy. I do love tragedies. Hahaha. This isn't even a proper review.
Okay, then. The plot was a little predictable but I still enjoyed it a lot. Like I said, I love the idea/possibility of a tragedy. I thrive on it. The little details add up so major props to the author cause no detail is wasted. It's not overly sappy, either, which is also the reason why I enjoyed it so much.
I normally steer away from oneshots because I always feel that they usualy make you feel the story is incomplete and there's more to be explored but this one was so satisfying. Both the husband's (The Probability I Can Kill My Wife Without Being Found Out) and wife's perspective (this one) was great but I liked the wife's perspective just a bit more.
I applaud the author, he/she had a short story deliver such a large amount of impact to the readers.
Have tissues ready and be ready to be stabbed right in the feels by a ''gentle'' love story.
I don't really cry on books. Rarely cry no matter how sad and heartbreaking it is. But this book, although a one-shot, made me cry. It's so beautifully written too!

K so this is basically the girls POV of the probability of .....and anyways I enjoy it. Like girl really just wants love tbh. Also look at him “I have no intent to embrace her. I do not love her, and I doubt she feels she wants to be embraced by me either. A woman’s purpose isn’t a tool to have children. If that’s the reason you married her to me, then you are the one who made the wrong choice. So let me divorce her at once, and please marry her off to someone she properly loves.” Feminist icon me thinks.
Umm this was cute and like a really a much nicer and happier story tbh.
This is part 2 of a two part story extremely short story. Part 2, “A Game to Make Him Fall,” is from the wife’s perspective. Part 1, “The Probability I Can Kill My Wife Without Being Found Out,” is the husband’s viewpoint. Both, stories are a must read to get the full picture. The husband reaches the 7 year itch in the arranged marriage and wants to know the odds of killing his wife and getting away with it. The wife doesn’t seem to mind as she sees herself as the tool to continue the family’s lineage. This is an odd and interesting couple. No character depth, insightful writing or lessons learned. These stories are too short to go into such depths. They are written like immature fan fiction. But, the message and feelings are both naive, heartwarming and both stories make me glad I searched to find a decent translation.
Again, it’s for the title that you need to read it, and STOP! Before you even start, read the other one first because you have to be ready for your feels to he all over, everywhere. These short ones will make you feel loved.
I loved both stories; the author is so amazing to be able to come up with such sweet one chapter each stories. I owe the translator so much for allowing me to enjoy this. My utmost thanks and appreciate <3
This is a one-shot that parallels with another one-shot in the husband's point of view. If you like reading romance and angst, you have time to read this. It manages to be both sweet and heartbreaking, hopeful and dispairing and all in such a simple and peaceful narrative. It's a great example of the beauty of a short story.
