But Cleo Mathews loves her job with the Paranormal Defense Intelligence (PDI) unit of FBI. When a serial killer decides to prey upon mages and werewolves, she knows trouble has hit her precious town. Aaron Fine, the supremely rich and insanely arrogant mage, inventor of strange and quirky gadgets, successful businessman, and a confirmed breaker of hearts is an obstacle in her path.
Either he needs to move out of her way or get trampled; she knows no other way to remove distractions.
Sparks fly, and he wrangles a date. An attack by assassins, clues that lead the murder trail right back to Aaron, and a visit by the dreaded White Council’s representative puts a cramp in her style. Aaron Fine is impossible to ignore but Cleo isn’t sure if she wants the complication in her life – and in her heart.
Sabine A. Reed has always been an avid reader. She loves fantasy, paranormal, thrillers and romance.
After her two novellas, The Black Orb and Ashuliya, were published by Uncial Press, she decided to step into self-publishing with The Demon Mages, the first novel in The Power of Three trilogy.
She can often be found at Goodreads as well discussing her favorite books with fellow readers. Her blog Writing and Publishing Resource is meant as a guide for new writers who are discovering that the path to publication can be difficult, but doesn’t have to be lonely.
Another great read but I do wish that she could get a clue about her family's death, more about the strange girl that shows up occasionally and that there was more about what the little girl was capable off. When a body is found she is called in. There is no sign of a struggle, she has been bound to a cross and something that appears to be vampire marks on her neck. When they are stuck for clues, another body is found in the same condition. What has killed a young mage and werewolf without leaving a trace? Her emotions are further stretched by assassin attacks and the attentions of the local multimillionaire. Can they find the person responsible especially when one of the commune disappears without a trace. Great story but wish it had a bit more depth in her past and answered why the assassins were under contract. Who took out the contract?
