Resurrection Island

Rate this book
The job of a reaper should be pretty simple, right?

As a reaper, Remy has one job; bring the departed souls to Resurrection Island.

But there are dark things about the island that even a reaper can’t ignore, especially when it starts to threaten the one woman he can’t get out of his head.

Suddenly the afterlife is more dangerous than it seems.

A NA/Adult Fantasy Romance. Wonderfully written! Enthusiastically read. I hope that you enjoy as well.

Alexandra is a fantastically confusing character: shy and timid but also bold and fearless. Her approach to life is absolutely delightful. Not every author has been able to pull off this kind of dichotomy in a character as well as A.J. Koonce.

Many guys, like many gals, are uncomfortably insecurity in their appearance. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And familiarity breeds contempt. A.J. is able to instill these feelings to me about her characters' own self-impressions.

I was provided this book as an ARC by the author; however, the review is my honest opinion.

This is the first book by A.K. Koonce that I have read and I am blown away. The entire storyline is so creative, I have never read anything like this before. I don't want to give too much away. You really need to read the book. An alternate afterlife, an unusual form of time travel, friendship, love, broken people finding one another, battling evil, a bit of hot romance, finding yourself and changing your story. A wonderful adventure and I ca't wait to read the next book and find out more about Remy, Alexandra, Lucas and more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This has an interesting background in the other side. The darkness of the character, Remy becomes clearer as we learn about the Island. Remy knows he has done a great wrong to Alexandra but he can't stop, because her soul calls to him bringing him towards the light. It took me about halfway into the book to actually to begin to like it, because it took me about that long to realize what Resurrection Island actually is. Will I read the rest of the series? It depends on where the author wants to take this. To be honest, I am quite content where the story ends.

Twisted

This was a twisted take on death, reapers, and completely reminiscent of Peter Pan, the lost boys, and Wendy. This was haunting, twisted, sad, steamy and full of surprises. This was nothing like I was expecting but so much more. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading what happens next. Time travel can get tricky and this Peter and Wendy duo have a lot to figure out.

This book was fabulous! I have been a fan of A.K. Koonce for as long as I can remember. I have loved every book I’ve read by her but I am kicking myself for taking so long to read this one.

I was immediately enthralled by this book. Remy is such an endearingly tortured man that you can’t help but love him almost instantly. I really enjoyed the “Neverland” spin that was put on this book. It made it so much more magical. I was not disappointed and this is definitely a book I would read again.

Would you question things in the afterlife? Or would you just trust that everything is fine? Resurrection Island takes you on a journey into an alternate afterlife and turns it inside out.

I liked this premise quite a bit. The characters were well written and the story had a good flow. The plot was unique, for me, and that is hard to come by. I look forward to reading more from A.K. Koonce.

I was gifted an ARC for an honest review. (Read 10/29/17-10/30/17)

I don't even know where to start! This book is amazing! I love how A.K. Koonce writes, it flows so well you don't want to put it down! She makes you fall in love with her characters, kinda makes you wish they were real! This book has a Neverland feel but it's not a Peter Pan story. I don't like to give away much about the story in my book reviews. I have loved all the A.K. Koonce books I read so far and this one didn't disappoint! I'm so ready for the next book and see where she takes the story!
