Carrero #5

The Carrero Heart - The Journey; Arrick & Sophie

Rate this book
This is the second half to the story of Arrick and Sophie, in my Carrero Series. This is the 5th book from this series.

Sophie has been living her life for the past three months. She is finding her feet, her strength, and doing it in an Arry'less world, determined that she no longer needs him in any way shape or form. She's heartbroken, but refuses to let him infiltrate her everyday life and take her from the goal she set herself. To succeed as something more and prove to not only everyone else, but herself, that she can do this.
Unfortunately for her, the wheels of fate, and the depth of how he feels about her, tug them straight back together, like magnets pulled by a stronger force that neither can fight. The heart is a funny thing, it can both hate and love, hurt and heal, at the same time.
Sometimes trusting someone the first time is so much easier than having to forgive them for breaking your heart. Something given so readily once upon a time is not so willing to peek out from the safe shadows. Sophie has to decide if she can let that one person back in, that she never thought would ever betray her.

Leanne Marshall is a Scottish-born and bred romance writer with more than average life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including a singer in a girl band, animal rights activist, and charity owner, worked on radio, and offered jobs on TV.
A passionate, restless soul who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit.
She uses her wit and dark humor to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her character's actions.
She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humor, and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides.
Quote from L.T. Marshall - 'Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale.'

This series just keeps getting better. Along with the usual love, romance and angst this book introduces a slightly darker side to the Carrero family. There is plenty of tension and a few of LT Marshall's signature WTF moments thrown in to keep us all on our toes. Another great book from the author, I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

OMG the conclusion to the last book had me diving into this instantly!!

I couldn’t believe what had transpired and needed to know how this would turn out, and so i got straight into this to see where we would go.

I wasn’t disappointed. So many emotions being pulled from the reader, worry, curiosity, shock, anger... this is not an easy bed of roses ride, and I devoured it at top speed!
The love triangle is far from quickly rectified, with the characters making silly choices, snap decisions and then dealing with the consequences.

The further into the book we get, the more we see that although these are two people who know one another incredibly well. They are still people, very individual and very capable of unintentionally hurting one another.

Their relationship is very realistic, their pitfalls and errors along the way. And seeing more insights into their relationships and friendships helps to build a fuller view of who they are.

I adored the first trilogy, and will happily reread, but from the faster dive into the story it is clear to see how Marshall adapted her learning to create an even faster build of emotions and tensions.

I love how we see the Characters adapting to their new relationship and newly realised feelings, and it gives an entirely different mix of emotions and complications.

Natasha becomes Pitiable, and i wound up seriously wanting to slap some sense into Arrick whilst entirely sympathising with Sophie, much to my surprise she matures gradually and has become a character i love to read about!

What can I say, I'm a little speechless right now. Book 1 ended with Arrick quite cruelly discarding Sophie for his girlfriend Natasha, sending her away and leaving her heartbroken. In this book we see them reconnect at a family party, briging them back together. I really dont want to give anything away, its just too good not to read yourselves. Theres lots of romance and angst, twists and turns, and a few OMG moments. We also get the chance to meet some, should we say interesting, members of the Carrero family (can't wait to see more of them in the furture). For me this was the best book yet in this series, I have such a book hangover now. Can't wait to see what LT has in store for these to next!

Good!

Book 2 of Sophie and Arrick's story, and I have to say that these characters have hooked me in. This book showcases the friendship, love, and connections between the two characters. They have a long road ahead of them to get a happy ever after and it's far from me being straight. It has a lot of bumps and twists along the way.
I have to admit that I did LOL at a few Sophie tantrums. I mean, she was hilarious, even though her insecurities were showing.
Even those those are long drawn out books it leaves you needing to pick up book 3 just to find out what happens next.

How can one Author make you love them one minute then truly not like them the next....
If you have read book 4 the start of Arrick And Sophies story you will no doubt have been reeling and the end " thinking Wtf " now I have to wait! well the wait will be worth it and more. I feel like I sold my soul to the devil to be lucky enough to have read the part 2 book 5 release. I've never before fallen so fast into the overwhelming concern and adderation of two characters.... This book will be a rollercoaster of loving and loathing the characters, feelings of been devastated whilst a few pages later on complete elation. Truly the best book I have read this year. L. T. Marshall has a way of capturing her audience a truly inspirational and phenomenal author.

Looking forward to reading the next book!

Love the mob twist! Leaves it to the imagination of what happened to Emma's attacker in the other series. All the books in these series are definitely movie worthy. Can't wait until the next book is released.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this next book in the series!
And I wasn't disappointed a little bit!
I fell in love with the precise way L.T. Marshall is describing all of Sophie's thoughts, and at one point I started 'hating' the main character, but never the less continued reading. It's the beauty and the power of this author - she totally got me addicted to these books, to these characters and I just had to continue reading to see what is going to come next.

Whilst reading, like if the author knew herself, when I got a little bit 'tired' of swirling Sophie's thoughts she introduced an unbelievable amazing dialogue or brought back characters from the previous books or put in picture new ones that were only mentioned before.

I felt like I was watching such a good movie that I made myself popcorns and couldn't wait to see what next is going to happen.

Raw unbridled emotion

Well that was exhausting. Believe me that is a compliment. In all this book took me 13 days to read. I'm sure I say this with everyone of this author's books but the raw emotions in every chapter is not something you can just read and forget. It's bang you head off a wall, head in you hands frustrating. Sophie has to be my new favourite. I say this a lot in books about relating to characters but Sophie is like a mirror image so many of her hang ups are mine. I love all the little tid bits of things and characters to come, the in depth layers of the relationship. I actually cried reading this one and laughed too. L.T Marshall really knows how to put you through the ringer.

Once again an absolutely amazing continuation of the Carrero series. I could not put this book down, as with the others I was hooked from the start. It had me on an emotional rollercoaster where I wasn’t sure whether to laugh, cry or get angry (I think I did all three at various points in the story).
These books just keep getting better and better. Although unlike the others, this one didn’t end on a cliffhanger as such, I’m really looking forward to the next instalment and hope I don’t have to wait long ;0)

Brilliant

I’ve said it before and I will say it again L.T. Marshall has a way of taking you in a roller coaster of emotions and just when you think the book is all wrapped up and will be tidy to the end...BAM.. ... there is not another series I have read where I haven’t figured out the plot or the next part.. all five of these books have been filled with wonderful surprises throughout . Five stars well deserved and these need to be made into movies!!!!

I think both Arry and Sophie characters came through in this book. They really developed and isn't it just the best when you feel their pain and their happiness? I didn't feel like I was reading a book but felt like being in it. It felt really intense at times and I cannot wait for another book to follow Carrero journey.

Always a pleasure to read LT Marshall’s books!

I’m kind of addicted to the Carrero series. I’ve read all of Jake and Emma’s story and I’m now 2 books in on Arrick and Sophie. I can’t put them down. The emotional depth keeps me enthralled! Give us more!!!
