Review of the novel "Ice" from the collection

The horror of ice
An excellent independent work in which your favorite characters find themselves in a deadly trap in the ice of Alaska and try to gain the upper hand over the current situation. In general, the work is very much reminiscent of the Hugo Award-winning story "Who Goes There?" by Campbell and the horror film "Something" made on its basis in 1982.
The atmosphere of icy darkness, endless snow, and an enclosed space in which the polar explorers found themselves and turned out to be dead now threatens FBI agents along with scientists who came here to find out the causes of the terrible events. What was their surprise when, literally in a matter of hours, they found themselves in such a murderous trap and could no longer trust each other due to the circumstances.
In this episode, Molder and Scully haven't known each other long enough, which for me explains their distrust of each other. If these events had happened two or three years later, they would not have doubted each other. And it adds to the interest.
The story is read in one breath literally in an hour and a half. This is one of the best episodes of the X-Files series, which will fit well into the evening evening in order to show how dangerous and unpredictable the unexplored areas of our planet can be. In particular, many kilometers of ice that have not been studied are unknown and quite possibly dangerous. This topic reminds us that we are vulnerable and are not the absolute masters of the planet.
