I despised Reed Peirce.
He was a cocky, egotistical smooth talker, and more times than not, he was also my opposing counsel in the courtroom.

He thinks he’s God’s gift to the law, but I know the real reason he wins so many cases, and it has more to do with those persuading green eyes than his fancy law degree. Not that I can blame the jury. I was once on the receiving end of that perfectly tilted smirk and deceiving charm, and I learned the hard way not to trust him.

Now, a year later, it’s a virtual tug-o-war in the courtroom, and I refuse to fall for his witty banter and flirty smiles again. I was determined to show the playboy of appeals that he messed with the wrong lady of the law. Only, the joke was on me, and a drunken night of hot, mind-numbing sex has my aversions toward him wavering…

One bottle. One dare. One night.
That’s all it took to obliterate a year’s worth of hate toward Reed.
It was thoughtless. It was reckless.
And no matter the case I plead, he’s left me defenseless.

I find it hard to sum up my life in a paragraph, but I'll try.

Reading has always been a passion for me and writing is as instinctive as breathing. Every inhale is an idea; every exhale a creation. Flutter, The Discover Series was my debut release and since then I have written a contemporary romance, The Edge of Darkness. The only thing I do better than writing? Making beautiful, sassy and independent, girls. My daughters will always be my greatest accomplishment, my biggest fans and my every inspiration. I live, breath and would die for them! I've been married to one of the greatest men in my life for 7 years and I love him more than chocolate (you know shit just got real :), Justin Timberlake and Friday's. Without him my website would be a mess and I would probably be paying more taxes than I should. He is a jack of many trades and this is just my opinion but I like to think besides my daughters, I'm his second biggest accomplishment. (Does anyone else hear a horn tooting?)

I was born in Denver, Colorado -but I will always think of sunny Arizona as my home. I don't have a big family, but I'm close with my sister, brother & my mom. My mom is my hero, my inspiration, and I couldn't have asked for a more amazing person to be raised by. She has supported me throughout this crazy adventure and I'm lucky to have her on my side!

6 things you should know about me:

1. I'm a tornado with lipstick! Translation: I'm very girly, but I can get down and dirty with the best of them.

2. I adore the color pink!

3. I love things that sparkle (including vampires!)

4. I like even numbers (hence 6 things about me, not 5)

5. I'm loyal to a fault but I like to see the good in everybody. Don't mistake my kindness for weakness though because my bark is not always bigger than my bite :))

6. I don't like calling readers 'fans'. When it come down to it, I am all YOUR biggest fan! MWAH!

I will never be able to thank every reader, every blogger or every author who has helped me in one or a million ways since I published but I will try every chance I get. Y'all are the reason I am here and every comment, every message, every review makes me feel like I have a reason to be. So to the moon and back, THANK YOU!

Okay, so this was a little longer than a paragraph.

I enjoyed the banter, the sexual tension and the undeniable attraction between Meela and Reed. This book made me laugh, cry, and swoon for Reed. He may be an arrogant, cocky hero but when it comes to Meela he'll do everything to get her attention, trust and eventually her love. Will Meela give him that chance to prove that he's worthy of her love?

Melissa Andrea always writes a story that is to my liking. Looking forward to reading more books from her.

An array of passion and intense heat is felt in Melissa Andrea’s latest novel, Lust. A chance must be taken in stride, but is it worth the risk? Valuable lessons are learned for Meela and Reed and it was worth the late night hours indulging in this story.

Fresh out of law school, Meela hopes to make it big in the courtroom. A mere mishap in an elevator lands her with cocky lawyer Reed and words are spoken in a time of despair, but come back to haunt her during a trial. Now she is on a mission to win case after case against the green eyed God, but little does she know, Reed is lusting after her while she pours all her energy in defeating him. Both clash over alcohol, and too many drinks later, Meela’s hatred has dissipated but more issues arise in it’s place.

Sexy, funny, high angst in a courtroom showdown. Perfect little book to get you fired up! I really enjoyed this book. There were some high intensity moments with both characters being so stubborn. I found myself really wanting to smack them around, make them see the bigger picture.

Melissa’s writing is captivating. The dynamics of the story will have you hooked. Her passion and love for the characters comes across in the way they are so well developed. The storyline was on par, and is worthy of great praise. I cannot recommend this enough. The only question I have for you is… What will be your verdict?

Lust is such an interesting and captivating story. I really enjoyed the passion between Meela and Reed, even when Meela refused to let go of her issue and Reed refused to let go of his arrogance. The first scene was one that I really liked. How often does a complete stranger seek to offer comfort to another in a situation like that without any nefarious intent to take complete advantage? I don’t consider the kiss taking advantage.

Reed’s last line just prompts that happy sigh for HEA.

Overall, I really enjoyed Lust. I don’t know if you knew, but I’m a sucker for stories with babies. Seriously. As I beta for other authors, it is important to me to be honest with them. They deserve that. I wouldn’t want them to have negative responses because I failed to let them know the truth. I couldn’t put Lust down unless I absolutely had to and I’m someone who doesn’t feel that not finishing a book is a bad thing about me. I’m not going to waste my valuable (to me) time, beta reader or not, reading something that fails to catch my attention and pull me in. I feel deeply when I read and I needed Meela and Reed to find their happiness. Melissa, you provided a book that an intensely picky reader like me can thoroughly enjoy. Thank you.

3.5-4 stars. After an experience of being stuck on a elevator with Reed Pierce, Meela has learned to never ever trust him again. But when she does again just for one night, Meela has to come to terms with everything afterwards. I loved the dynamic between Reed and Meela, how he was so intensely attracted to her and knew he was in the wrong, but didn't realize how long he'd be paying for it. As for Meela, I loved her resistance when it came to anything regarding Reed. They are well matched in the stubbornness category. As much as I enjoyed the storyline, there were parts that needed to be tighter or stronger in content as well as editing, particularly with regards to Reed's growth and maturity in trying to prove himself trustworthy where Meela could see it as genuine. I found several grammatical errors or typos and mistakes that were distracting. Not to mention there were a lot of assumptions that needed to be made on the reader's behalf, because there were lead ups to certain events or revelations, but then it dangled as a loose end or wasn't wrapped up in an affirmative way, even though the relationship issues between the main characters were fully resolved by the ending.

I devoured this book in one sitting, and boy was it worth my late night reading this book.

We get a sexy, arrogant and cocky lawyers who has won all his cases in court. When he gets stuck in an elevator with Meela, a rookie lawyers, he puts on his charm and she falls for it and starts telling him about her case. Little did she know he was the opposing council!

But as the year passes, Meela and Reed seem to keep going head-to-head in court and she's been kicking butt. But her pride is still wounded and she seems to hold a grudge pretty well.
as been whooping on him, he still wants her and he wants her badly. He's now more concerned about how he can get her under him, but Meela won't budge and she is still fighting him every step of the way, lust or no lust.

But one night with some alcohol involved, things get a little out of hand and things take a different course.

I really liked how Reed and Meela kept going back and forth inside the courthouse and outside. It was entertaining.

This book was addicting, it was sexy and so much more! Melissa Andrea really had me hooked from beginning to end and it has earned a 4.5 star

Meela is a fresh out of law school student looking to win her first case. Reed is the cocky rich lawyer who gets by on his charm. He is intrigued by the sexy girl in the elevator and wants to get to know her much much better. Funny how life happens thought especially during a life alter panic you say just about anything when you think the words may be your last. What you don't expect is to have those same words used aginst you, literally in a court of law. So what happens when one misspoken truth lead to the worlds biggest rivalry. The war that is Reed Vs.Meela begins, she lives to win against him in court and he lust for her in secret. So when he lays down a dare over alcohol the sparks fly. This book was amazing, laugh out loud funny, sexy and a earned permanent re-read status. I love it to the very last page. Melissa did a great job on her first solo book!

Meela is a lawyer who has her life all planned out. She gets stuck in an elevator with Reed, who turns her life upside down. After accidentally helping Reed, who is an opposing lawyer on a case she has, an all out war between the two starts. After a year of back and forth, Reed dares Meela to loosen up and take a chance, one nigh out with him, which turns into a night together. That night begins a rollercoaster in Meelas life, where she learns to let go of things she can’t change and see her life in a new way.

I loved this book, and I highly recommend it. Also, where can I find myself a Reed? :)

Meela. Independent, successful woman. Lawyer. A panic attack in an elevator during a natural disaster, teaches her a valuable life lesson but one that has many grey areas.

Reed. Attractive, successful arrogant man. Lawyer. His first mistake was that of betrayal that set a path. But was this the first or a reflection of a betrayal greater in his past.

The past has a funny way painting the future. Of persuading and convincing but if you can see through the blurred lines, you can see that there is a love waiting. Lust can often help if you’re willing to take a chance.

Definitely an author I would read again, just story was a bit drawn out - heroine played a little TOO hard to get, and got to be a bit overly whiney and insecure. I skimmed a bit of the latter part of the book but was really happy with the epilogue.

So much potential

This book had the makings to be awesome, but
it was poorly edited. I would suggest the author invest in a development or content editor.

D.i.s.a.p.p.o.i.n.t.i.n.g!

When I read the blurb, I couldn't pass the chance to read the story and meet Reed and Meela because they both looked strong, sassy and witty but as soon as I started the book I felt like I was cheated on.

With such a blurb, I was hoping for a strong heroine with a killing personality not a stupid lawyer who destroyed her client's future because she wasn't ethical and couldn't shut her mouth.

With such a blurb, I was hoping for an alpha hero to swoon over. Reed instead was an asshole who didn't deserve to be my book boyfriend. Immature and annoying as shit that's how I would describe him.

Again, It's not the book, It's me. May be I'm getting too old for such stories.
