I enjoyed this book. After reading several reviews I’m going to skip reading any more in this series. I prefer my HEA.

I have rarely ever been so ANGRY and BETRAYED at a series. I went looking for something sweet and lighthearted, and based on the blurb, this fit the bill. The two MCs meet and fall in love while facing some obstacles. There is mpreg, they have twin babies, and we end with an HEA with overdoses of baby cuteness.
I actually liked Book 1. And I liked 90% of Book 2.
But at the end book 2 something so unspeakably HORRIBLE happens to this couple--Kaden and Josh--that it invalidates ANY enjoyment of ANY book in this series. Maybe I'm sensitive because I'm a mother of a baby. Maybe it's the feeling of betrayal because I wanted something sweet and the blurb didn't warn me how DARK this series is. But for real, who wants to read a series where the precious baby girl of our MCs is kidnapped and hurt by the evil villain for practically a year while the MCs (particularly Josh) fall to pieces and are helpless to stop it (even when they see the villain in public with said baby and they can do nothing)? I did NOT sign up for this!!!!!
Read book 1, and then do yourself a favor and stop.

Ammetto che... mi aspettavo di meglio. All'inizio sembrava interessante e credevo che la narrazione si sarebbe soffermata molto di più sull'indagine, per scoprire l'identità del misterioso alpha e invece... no. Dopo un iniziale colpo di scena si passa a momenti noiosi e parecchio inutili con da una parte Kaden in paranoia perché Josh è il suo compagno predestinato e lui non ha il coraggio di dirglielo per non farlo fuggire a gambe levate e dall'altra Josh che va in tripla paranoia perché Kaden lo eccita ma lui è un uomo di legge mentre Kaden agli occhi di tutti è il bad boy brutto e cattivo e non certo la persona più raccomandabile con cui stare insieme avendo pure una banda di motociclisti al seguito. Quindi via di pippe mentali e NOIA! Per pagine e pagine non succede nulla e solo al 60% finalmente la storia ritorna ad ingranare la marcia non approfondendo però nulla! Scopriamo da una pagina e completamente a caso chi è l'alpha killer e stop, nonostante il cattivone sia legato a Kaden la sua storia non viene approfondita neanche un po', posso capire che la scelta è voluta essendoci già un sequel che lo vede protagonista insieme al suo compagno e volendo spingere la gente a leggerlo per saperne di più (cosa che sicuramente farò anche io) però... avrei almeno voluto sapere qualcosa di lui, un iniziale accenno alla sua storia poi approfondita con più dettagli nel sequel, capire qualcosa in più sul suo odio verso Kaden e sul motivo per cui ha causato morte e distruzione, qualcosa che andasse oltre il "L'ho fatto perché Kaden è brutto e cattivo e deve morire!!!" Kaden stesso avrebbe dovuto indagare di più sull'uomo! Almeno io... nei suoi panni avrei voluto sapere vita, morte e miracoli e avendo come compagno un vice sceriffo il motociclista avrebbe potuto ottenere senza difficoltà informazioni sulla sua vita privata per capire le motivazioni reali dei crimini commessi dallo shifter invece è tutto un "Il cattivo sono iooo! E ora ucciderò il tuo compagno" "No! Bastardo, levagli le mani di dosso" battaglia poco adrenalinica e fuga del cattivone "È andato via... peccato... alleiamoci con un altro alpha stronzo, così per tutelarci in caso ritornasse e amen" reazioni... meh? Almeno sforzarsi di continuare le indagini? Per capire dove fosse andato e se fosse ancora un pericolo? Meh... il lato poliziesco lascia a desiderare e il lato romance... idem... non ci sono mai momenti di confronto tra i due uomini e dopo il borsello e la risoluzione dell'indagine si passa in due secondi al sesso con scene erotiche descritte molto bene ma che non mi hanno dato nulla, i due compagni due secondi prima sono furiosi uno con l'altro, Josh per non aver saputo prima la storia dei compagni predestinati e Kaden per le indagini del vice sceriffo sulla sua banda, un messa paginetta di "Sei cattivoh!" "Anche tuuuu!" e tre secondi dopo via di limone selvaggio con accoppiamenti da... lupetti in calore. E dopo... mpreg che è stata pure curata superficialmente non portando a riflessioni o momenti emotivi tra i due semplicemente "Ops... sono incinto... vabbè... scappiamo da qui per occuparci del parto e fare in modo che nessuno se ne accorga essendo la gravidanza maschile impensabile per la società umana" da lì parto in poche pagine... neppure ben descritto e salto temporale con i due Daddy felici con i gemelli.... e.... il cattivone? La società? La carriera di Josh? Dettagli sulle conseguenze della gravidanza? Nulla... un Happy ending senza capo né coda. Insomma... avrebbe potuto essere molto più interessante e invece... non mi sento di sconsigliarlo non essendo brutto ma... se volete del romance dolcetto non lo troverete, scene erotiche ce ne sono ma il coinvolgimento emotivo è pari a zero essendo di fatto Josh e Kaden quasi estranei non avendo neanche mai avuto un singolo appuntamento o qualcosa di simile, qualche momento intimo per conoscere interessi e sogni o altro, le indagini sono pari a zero, il lato paranormale con gli shifter ecc curato pochissimo e quindi... meh. Essendo breve non lo sconsiglio del tutto ma.. c'è di meglio

Este es un shifter mpreg romance, que en lo personal es mi cup of tea. El blur me dejó enganchada, un vato hetero que es secretamente un shifter y alfa de su manada se enamora del policia que tiene que investigarlo, que es un hombre y aparte ya fue mordido por otro shifter por lo que deben de trabajar juntos y atrapar al shifter ese. Que puedo decir, traiganmelo que me lo voy a devorar. Sadly, no tuvo una buena ejecución. I feel like the book was all over the place.
Empezamos con pie derecho, conociendo a ambos MCs, Josh siendo un joven policia que quiere probarse asimismo y Kaden un alfa con muchas responsabiliades. Y el desarrollo de personaje se queda ahi...... literalmente no hay avance en las motivaciones o en más detalle en saber QUIENES SON ESTAS PERSONAS. Es que me jode mucho, for example: Sabemos que Kaden es hetero pero solo pq el nos dice varias veces, nunca lo vemos con una mujer ni relaciones pasadas, la crisis que tiene es como de 2 capitulos y ya, y no está bien hecha. Yo esperaba mucho más conflicto en ese aspecto.
Lo triste que me pone le hecho de que Josh no es un participante activo en esta historia, me lo lobotomizan después del 3er capitulo, osea, donde está tu conflicto en conocer que hay un mundo de gente que se vuelve lobo, pq se lo toma TAN tranquilo. DENME DRAMA CARAJO. Tambien me hubiera gustado una transición más limpia en el aspecto de los fated mates. Josh no siente ningun cambio????????????, al menos a nosotros no nos dicen nada. Osea, la unica vez que el siente algo es pa besar a Kaden y se disculpan y ya. I mean, es reeee out of nowhere por la misma razón de que casi no sabemos lo que Josh está sintiendo, demasiadas cosas pasan out of page, me hubiera encantado que interacciones entre ellos como las sesiones de aprender a shiftear me las hubieran puesto en el libro, nomas hay una y ya.
Now, the pregnancy aspect, malisimo. Siento que m estoy repitiendo mucho pero es que OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE, como no van a saber que los machos omegas se pueden embarazar es que no te la compro, nuevamente, debió de haber desarrollado mejor el world building. El parto y el GRAAN momento fell flat.
Para ser tan corto si m costó terminarlo, so 2 estrellas.

Joshua is a new Deputy in the area and he is tasked with tracking down a wild wolf at a local bar, which is in 'biker gang' territory. He is eager to make a name for himself in the new department. As luck would have it though, he gets bitten by the wolf and everything spirals out of control. Kaden is the Alpha of one of the wolf packs in the area. He is called to the bar when he hears of this wild wolf - but he is immediately consumed when his wolf start's shouting 'mate'. Kaden is overjoyed, having always wanted to find his fated mate...he just never expected that he would be a man, or someone that had ties to the police department. Lucky for them Josh surives, but he was a human- now-turned wolf shifter who knows nothing of their world. To make matters worse, there is an unknown wolf out there hunting their own.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was unfamilar with this author, but the novel was engaging, adventurous and I could not put this book down! I loved the will they/ won't they push and pull of Kaden and Josh. The questions and inner turmoil both men faced was vulnerable and raw. I really enjoyed this novel and would most definitely recommend reading!

i really really liked this book.... normally shifter books like this don’t build much of a story, or at least not the ones i’ve read, it’s always just... oh i’ve met my mate now we’re just gonna constantly fuck, which isn’t a bad thing either i still like books like that. but the building of the story in this one was so good. i loved it! josh and kaden are an amazing couple, watching them fall in love is great! you get to see them both struggle, because there’s things kaden feels he can’t tell josh without scaring him, but he’s also scared of those things himself. and josh still has he’s job which he feels is getting in the way, but it’s his dream. watching them over come those obstacles and the drama of the rogue who turned josh in the first place it’s just an all around amazing story and well balanced!! can’t wait for the rest of the series!!

What a story! This story is both sweet and tangy and full of love. From an amazing traditional alpha who has to find his way to his equally amazing omega. And see the world through different glasses. This story has lots of twist and turns that are defiantly keeps you entertained.Can't wait for more. I want to see what happens with the pack and their mates and what the future holds.

I wish I didn't wait so long to read this! I'm not a big fan of MM romance novels where someone isn't secure with being gay, but this wasn't like that. They were concerned but it wasn't the only thing. They are adorable as a couple and I was rooting for them the whole time. There is a perfect balance of action and romance in this book. Usually an author writes action or romance better, but this book was strong in both areas. Looking forward to the next book!

This is my first time reading m/m romance that also includes mpreg and shifters. It’s a quick read but the story has you hooked. Not to mention the steamy scenes. Obviously there is a villain involved and it was the least expected which added to the story.
I enjoyed it very much and I can’t wait to see what book 2 is about as the story continues but with different characters.

The first book in the riverrun series is a great read. Josh, a human is Bitten by a rogue wolf shifter. He is helped adapt to his new form and life by an Alpha called Kaden fated mates their journey together starts with danger and intrigue and alot of hot sex. It's a great series, well worth reading.

Gostei bastante, é uma leitura rápida e divertida. É um livro que abre bastante margem pra histórias futuras, mas fechando bem as dos principais. Eu gosto dos personagens, acho que faltou um pouco de desenvolvimento de algumas coisas, mas pode ser que a autora queira explorar essas coisas nos próximos livros.

Good book
Not a bad story it is a little long and winding, not in a bad way just has a little more everyday stuff and a little less sexy stuff to start with but that fits this story. Overall I’d reread it and I have the next book on my tbr list.

Great start to a series. I loved the chemistry between the characters...it was off the charts. It was really well written, storyline was intriguing and filled with action. It definitely left me wanting more and ready for book 2.

A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Insomma... avrebbe potuto essere molto più interessante e invece... non mi sento di sconsigliarlo non essendo brutto ma... se volete del romance dolcetto non lo troverete, scene erotiche ce ne sono ma il coinvolgimento emotivo è pari a zero essendo di fatto Josh e Kaden quasi estranei non avendo neanche mai avuto un singolo appuntamento o qualcosa di simile, qualche momento intimo per conoscere interessi e sogni o altro, le indagini sono pari a zero, il lato paranormale con gli shifter ecc curato pochissimo e quindi... meh. Essendo breve non lo sconsiglio del tutto ma.. c'è di meglio
