Critics describe these books as a very sweet invigorating set of books which are heart-warming, full of love, mystery, hope, and the true meaning of friendship.
Includes 4 series starter books (Faith Creek Brides #1, Sun River Brides #1, Silver River Brides #1, Ruby Springs Brides #1).
Karla Gracey was born with a very creative imagination and a love for creating stories that will inspire and warm people's hearts. She has always been attracted to historical romance including mail order bride stories with strong willed women. Her characters are easy to relate to and you feel as if you know them personally. Whether you enjoy action, adventure, romance, mystery, suspense or drama- she makes sure there is something for everyone in her historical romance stories!
This box set includes 4 novellas that are apparently starter stories for different series. As novellas they were really too short to fully develop the characters so the "love"stories didn't feel too real to me. I also found similarities in the theme of several. They were ok short reads but didn't inspire me to look further for more in the series.
This review is only for Ruby Springs Brides #1 Catherine Finds Love. I liked this book, it was short and sweet. The bride and groom came to know each other through letters. Even though neither was looking for love they both managed to find it with each other.
This Author is new to me. Not any more. Each of the novels in this box set brought with it interesting challenges. Enjoy reading each Page as you wonder what courage these mail order brides needed. Could you do this for a. An you never met, live in a new country? It was a pleasure to read.
These books were awesome! It must have been difficult back then! Not many women were so bold to respond to an advertisement! I am glad they all found love! Today it is not so easy to find love like these books! But I am sure there are a few women have found true love! But to go back in time to a simple way of life- when men were men and women were women!
A good read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series some stories are better than others but enjoyable
I love the way the author presents each character so that you feel you've gotten to know them. You can see and feel their struggles and rejoice in their happiness. These are delightful, hope filled stories that leave you feeling full filled to have read them. Enjoyable reading.
Mail Order Bride 4 Book Box Set by Karla Gracey was a very enjoyable read. All the stories are about Brides looking for companionship and love if possible. Enjoy, I did!!!!!
Similar in storyline, each of these has different characters and plot. I found it interesting to see just how the author would have things play out, and what the "hidden" secret was in eaxh of the characters pasts. Entertaining, fun reads.
I would rather have the stories a lot longer, and not single books, but a series! I loved the characters and the story line, but this is most definitely not a book series that I would reread.
These were okay to read. I enjoyed, but had to read one and go read something else before reading the next. The stories were good, but they didn't grab me and make me need to finish them which is why I rated them as a three.
This was a new author. I got this book for free from Amazon Kindle. each book was well written. I love mail order bride books and love series. Each one left me wanting more from this author. I recommend this book set
This was a quick and simple read. The stories were quite similar but had enough variances to keep my interest. I met my husband online so the whole mail order bride scenario intrigues me. There were errors and repetitions in the series, but easy to overlook.
Great stories, loved this box set...characters were realistic, took me back in time. Each story was well written and I enjoyed the strength the author gave each woman. I recommend this box set of Mail Order Brides.
Thank you for your writing of this series as I enjoyed reading it very much and enjoyed the way you used your characters,it kept me reading till the end and wanting more.
All four of these books are very clean, heartwarming, endearing and tender. They are well written and entertaining. Each one has good character and story building.
This was a very sweet anthology. Because they are short stories, everything happens very quickly, including falling in love . The first two stories have very similar plots and though the last two stories are different, all 4 stories have working class women, land owner husbands-to-be and a child. While there may be some eye-rolling and while there are contrived issues in this anthology, the stories are still quite enjoyable. It is also a clean read, which is appreciated.
I enjoyed these stories, but did feel that the plots and characters both needed more development. Most notably in the final story, some potentially interesting ideas were simplified and rushed, and I did get the sense of a novella or novel, reduced to short story length. The stories, however, were still charming, and I liked the marriage advertisement theme - basically, the online dating, of a previous age.
I read each of these series starters separately except book one of the Silver River series.
This is my review of Mail Order Bride Amelia
I enjoyed Byron's pet and the comedy it added to the story, but was mostly glad he wasn't too big of a main character in this book! I loved young Jeremy too! A typical boy, with a wonderful big sister! My favorite part was the reconciliation at the end!
Definitely mail-order romance. I was a little disappointed that the stories were so similar - same first letter from the man, same perfect physique of both men and women, and same quick almost cookie-cutter story. I'd truly like to see some mail-order stories where they were not perfect in appearance - maybe a plump woman or a man with a crooked nose? Hehehe. Someone give us some real-life people.
Thank you Karla for writing such great stories. I enjoyed each and every one. I downloaded your book with Miner and Silver River bride's and read all of those enjoyable books too but could not leave you a review because I could not get to the review page. Thank you so much!
There is a variety of settings and a variety of professions for both the brides and grooms in these short pick-me-up stories. I found myself reading them much as one would eat from a box of chocolates--one wasn't enough and I started on the next one as soon as I could.
This box set are short reads, sometimes I caught myself trying to even believe the storyline the way the mail order brides meet their potential husbands, and how easily they married and wish the storyline was a little more believable. I understand it's a fiction write but nonetheless, I enjoyed them even if I read them to relax.
