Terri Anne Browning is a USA TODAY bestselling author. Being dyslexic, she never thought a career in writing would be possible, yet she has been on bestselling lists multiple times since 2013. Reese: A Safe Haven Novella was her first Indie published book. The Rocker Who Holds Me changed the tables and kicked off The Rocker... series featuring the sinfully delicious members of Demon's Wings. The Rocker... Series is now complete with 12 books and the occasional novella. Other books by Terri Anne include the Angel's Halo MC Series, as well as The Lucy & Harris Novella Series, The Vitucci Mafiosos Series, and The Tainted Knights Rocker Series.
Terri Anne lives in Virginia with her husband, their three demons---err, children--and a hyper Frenchie named Grunt.
I’ve been a dedicated fan of Terri Anne Browning’s books since she started her Rockers series, so I was anxious to read her spin off series featuring some of my favourite protagonists’ children. Unfortunately, she completely lost me with “Un-Shattering Lucy.”
We left our heroes at the end of the previous instalment divided. Harris had been drugged and sexually assaulted by the devious Tessa, and Lucy is trying to move on after witnessing a video of Harris and Tessa supposedly having sex. Both are destroyed at the prospect of living without the other, yet refuse to hurt the other more by trying to fix it.
This book starts and ends for me with how Harris’ drugging and sexual assault was framed and treated by the heroine. While Lucy’s guilt is somewhat inspired by Harris being drugged, the majority of this book is spent by the couple trying to overcome the loss of trust. Let’s just clarify something right here, in no way did Harris do anything to warrant being roofied or sexually assaulted by Tessa. Yet, Lucy treats their reconciliation like a scorned wife taking back a cheating spouse. This happens a lot in romance novels, where the male protagonist is drugged or coerced into “cheating” on their loved one and spends the rest of the plot grovelling. Especially coming from an author who is obviously willing to tackle difficult subjects, as we’ve seen in this series with Lucy’s self harm, it’s at the least disappointing and at most infuriating. Harris deserves just as much as a female character when it comes to how their assault is treated. He deserved a deep and honest storyline that focused on his healing.
Unfortunately, while this book did tackle self-harm amazingly well, I can’t overlook this huge error in judgement by the author. It makes me question whether I can read any further books of hers. I don’t know if I trust an author to tackle difficult and traumatizing issues if she failed so abysmally with a male survivor of sexual assault.
Un-Shattering Lucy was the fourth book in the Lucy & Harris series by Terri Anne Browning. It focused on Lucy Thornton, the eldest child of Jesse Thornton, the drummer of Demon’s Wings, and Harris Cutter, the eldest son of Devin Cutter, the drummer for OtherWorld. The series was a spin off of Browning’s Rocker series.
Un-shattering Lucy was the culmination of the Lucy & Harris series. I was aggravated with the previous cliffhanger and frankly, I thought Browning took an unnecessary and uncreative turn; however, I was wrong. Browning took a turn I never saw coming. It was emotional and a long journey, but I enjoyed it. No spoilers, so no elaboration.
All in all, I enjoyed Lucy and Harris’ journey. I think I would have enjoyed it more as one unified story versus the short build up novellas, but I enjoyed it none the less. It wasn’t my favorite in the Rocker series and spinoffs, but a worthy read.
"He didn't love me enough to try. Didn't want me enough to hold on to what we could have. Wasn't brave enough to put what Tessa had done behind him. We were over."
Oh my God this book! I have been waiting for this patiently. After finishing a cliffy on Craving Lucy, I know I have to have my hands on this stat because that previous book made me scream so loud and wanting to punch someone that made me nearly throwing my reader. I was so crushed that I can't define what I felt after reading the book. So when Un-Shattering Lucy hit my reader, I immediately get my hands on the story.
"Is that how it felt for you too?"she whispered. "Like you were dying without me?' "No," I told her honestly. "No, it wasn't like I was dying. I was dead Lucy. I was dead without you."
Un-Shattering Lucy started where Craving Lucy left off. If the previous installment crushed me, this one made me broken at just the first few chapters. I was reading with tears streaming down my face but I couldn't care less because I cannot put the reader down even just to wipe away my tears. I was just so invested in the story. The words held too much emotions and it was so heavy that I could not help myself from crying. I do not know but reading the the aftermath of one mistake that wasn't supposed to happen broke my heart. Just one mistake out of revenge and anger that destroyed a life so full of love and joy. It might deal with younger generation but what they went through is just so painful that reading it wrenched my heart and nearly split it into two. Harris and Lucy's journey is just a beautiful story to read amidst the tears I shed. The way they both handled what they went through is inspiring despite the misunderstandings. What more is it doesn't just focused on second chance of love. This is just so much more and it deals a very big issue that might be real and true for others that deals with this kind of pain.
But you know what's so great about this book? It's the fact that it portrays not just lover's love but a family's love as well. What they will do to save you and protect you no matter what. It's also the fact that it's the same love that accepts you and healed you no matter how you think how ugly your life is, how scarred you are.. how imperfect you are. And I appreciate it deeply how it was delivered. It might not be for you but for others this may feel like close to home, there might no second chances of love but the issue that deals with this book may be the same issues they experienced. And it's heart warming knowing that if you have the right amount of love from the right persons you'll never be scarred for life, instead you'll be healed for life, and trust me not everyone thought about it that way. So it's really nice reading the book as Terri Anne Browning just delivered and written it well.
Take note though as this book is not just an emotional one...it's a roller coaster ride of a journey and that what make this book a great one. You'll not just gonna cry but you'll gonna laugh and feel full of love as well.
"Lucy". "Loving you doesn't stop when things get ugly. If anything, that's when you find out if that love is the forever kind. I'm not going anywhere. Ever. Do you understand?"
Great job! A must read!

When lucy beat the carp out of Harris I lost respect for her and then her parents when they saw nothing wrong with it. Then Jesse laughed and it made me sad. It would have been far different had Harris beat on her. Also, the months after tessa he'd been sexually assaulted and the author treated the whole issue like he 'screwed' up and the pain and sorrow was all Lucy's. No wonder guys have such a hard time asking for help when they've been victimized. I love the rocker series and love Harris having his HEA with Lucy but still...I was truly disappointed in how insensitive the author was in her treatment of Harris's trauma...and insensitive she made many of those who we knew loved him. My son was the victim of rape 11 years ago and though he received counseling I still see him struggle at times though he does Not talk about it. Shame on you for minimizing his pain and trauma and even making his behavior somehow give lucy permission to be violent with him. I saw the listing for getting help with cutting. Where are the resources for males who've been sexually assaulted. Maybe gutsy aren't reading your book but mom's, sisters and friends of these male victims are.
So when we left off in book #2 of this Novella series Harris had been raped (for lack of a better term), drugged and nearly killed by Tessa.
The result of this horrible event had left Harris & Lucy in disarray. Lucy begging to work it out with Harris and Harris telling her he was not good enough for her. With Lucy given no choice in moving away for a school semester she tries to reason with Harris.
After the semester is over and Lucy returns for her high school graduation Harris sees that everyone who has told him Lucy is good and has moved on has lied or just cannot see the truth. Harris knows he must get Lucy back at any cost. He loves her and does not want to live without her for another second.
Harris must convince Lucy that it is worth trying again. Lucy knows she will not survive losing Harris again and is reluctant that he loves her or will still love her after he finds out her terrible way of dealing with the stress in her life.
This is the perfect ending to Harris and Lucy's story. If you read the Rocker's series than you have known them since they were kids and followed the family. We have seen the love they had for each other at a young age and watched them struggle with the age difference, jealousy, love, and heartache.
Harris and Lucy belong together and have always belonged to each other since their story began. I am sad to see them go but am excited to start another series by Terri Anne Browning.
Please know that this book deals with some very real issues of self-mutilation known as CUTTING. It is a serious condition that affects many people around the world. This is not to be taken lightly and if you know anyone dealing with this behavior please seek help immediately. There is help.
So disappointing! I used to like Lucy back when she was younger but now she's so annoying! Too weak, so whiny and needy.
Most of the time I feel like I want to punch this chick and tell her to get her shit together!
And not to mention the drama. Arghhh this book really drove me insane!!
I was expecting a better story than this because this was the closure of the series. But too bad it wasn't like what I expected. Some parts were just too impossible and ridiculous for my taste that I lost count on how many times I rolled my eyes while reading them. I'm so disappointed!!
Lucy Thornton is reeling from seeing Harris Cutler, the love of her life, having sex on video with another woman. He'd been drugged and almost died from a lunatic's attack. She is trying to get those images out of her mind, but Harris isn't making things easy. He isn't answering any of her calls or texts and her own family thinks she needs to put some space between them. Their idea of space is leaving California and doing her last semester in Georgetown. But Lucy can't leave Harris without giving him one more chance.
"No. I want you to go. We don't belong together, Lucy. You're better off without me." "No!" I shook my head, ready to decimate any argument he could come up with, but the next words out of his mouth had my knees threatening to buckle. "I'm better off without you, Lu."
Devastated, Lucy leaves for Georgetown determined to move on without Harris. Only things don't always turn out the way we want them to. The months drag by but Lucy's pain only gets worse and old habits are revisited. Lucy puts on a brave front but she is drowning. When pictures stop popping up all over of Harris and leggy blondes, she spirals into a deeper depression.
Harris might seem like he's coping, but he is barely treading water. His family's told him Lucy is doing well at school and is moving on. As much as he wants to go after her, is she better off without him?
Because I'd been too twisted up. Too ashamed of not having control of a situation I wouldn't have ever been a part of had I not been drugged out of my mind. I'd been weak and I'd hated that weakness.
Unshattering Lucy brings Harris and Lucy's story full circle. It's full of heartbreaking secrets, lots of drama and a love of family so strong it has continuously been the core of the Rocker series and Lucy and Harris journey. These characters work hard, play harder and love the hardest. A whole new set of characters has been introduced and I can't wait for Gray and Kessa's story. These two remind me of Drake and Lana (my favorite couple) and I think she is so going to give him a run for the money!
Un-shattering Lucy is the final novel in the Lucy and Harris series. It begins a few months after the the events of Rocking Kin/ Craving Lucy. I began the book a little mad at Lucy for one of her comments on Rocking Kin, but in this book I liked her. For me Un-shattering Lucy is the best novel in the series because the characters seemed more mature and sure about what they wanted. Also it touched a very delicate problem and the book turned out to be more emotional than I thought it would be. I was worried that the author wouldn't dedicate enough time to Lucy's problem, but it worked out perfectly. For me the biggest and best love story in this book is between Lucy and her family. Their bond is very strong and they have a very lovely relationship. The drama isn't much and everything was toned down compared to the other books. Gray and Kessa's book is coming next and I am kind of excited for it, if Gray's man whore ways don't appear much in their book.
Just when you think you're finished, there's going to be another book. Forever Lucy. It is amazing how Ms. Browning has managed to pull $$ and books from these stories just creating more drama and dragging them out.
Begins after the Tessa situation, the book has a distinct Lana book 3 feel to it. I hate how these books trip all over each other. Sin and Jace just had a book in Lucy's series (???) then they are having issues again, but also having issues within the Tainted series so you really have to read everything to stay on top of it all. No thanks, I feel kinda used up by now
Fair read. I will admit though, I was hoping for a bit more angst and perhaps wanted it to be a bit harder for our lovebirds to reconcile. Just seemed a bit one-sided. All about the heroine's troubles, needs, or wants. What about his traumatic experience? Anyway, fair plot line and character chemistry. Read it at your own risk. Not standalone read. Must be read in sequential order.
Lucy & Harris were destined to have an HEA even if there were a few bumps along the way. Harris has loved Lucy for as long as he can remember, he loved her as a best friend for so long, then love becomes lust. She loves him exactly the same way too. He tries to stay away, but he can't, then both their hearts are shattered. Harris needs to fix them back together, so they can continue on their life together, fiercely loving each other forever.
I loved, and even re-read, all The Rocker series books. However, Lucy...I am NOT a fan of. As these books progressed she just got more and more co-dependent on Harris. All through the books she kept being referred to as strong, but no one that strong would ONLY be happy if her significant other was with her. I guess if you’re a fan of weak, pathetic, co-dependent girls you’ll enjoy this spin-off series. I have issues similar to Lucy’s and I deal with things on my own in addition to having a support system. But...My happiness is NOT dependent on ANYONE else.
No sé cómo comenzar.
For me Terri Anne Browning's writing is never a bad read!
This is the last book (possibly) in the Lucy and Harris series. It picks up after a little time has passed between the Tessa drama. Lucy and Harris are both very depressed and not dealing with life well.
Lucy doesn't plan to see Harris but thanks to her high school graduation, she must return to California and since they are "family" they run into one another. Harris has decided to let Lucy move on since he keeps hearing about how fine she is, but with one look into her eyes he knows not all is well with her. Harris decides to step up and fix what he has broken.
Pretty quickly Harris and Lucy get back together. Lucy's parents don't say much because they know how depressed she has been and just want them both to be happy. But something no one knows comes to light one night when Harris removes Lucy's bracelet and sees for himself how she has been dealing with stress.
I liked that Lucy didn't make unnecessary drama about how Harris handled everything and was accepting of him coming back into her life. I like reading books that sometimes take the easy route vs uncalled for drama.
This story does open up a lot of future story lines with some of the kids around Lucy's age and even the younger ones. I'm excited to see what is in store for everyone else in this story.
The conclusion I have been dying for! The 4th book in the Lucy & Harris series picks up right where we left off in Craving Lucy. Rocking Kin (book 3) just for reference sake, was about another couple but did give insight into events that happened in Craving Lucy in others's POV.
Lucy leaving for college clear across the country and Harris letting her go since he doesn't think either of them can get past what he did with Tessa while drugged was so hard to watch. And when they finally see each other after 6 months, my heart was in my throat just it was for both of them.
This book details the struggles both Lucy and Harris have in finding their way back to each other. It's not an easy road but these two were clearly meant to be. With the help and deep love from the entire Demon's Wings family, you just know they are going to make it. The poignant scenes with Jesse and Layla were particularly heartbreaking but reiterated just how special this crew of characters continue to be with each new book.
I will admit I was hoping for a bit more angst and perhaps wanted it to be a bit harder for our lovebirds to reconcile but overall it was the reunion I had hoped for and my heart was full upon the conclusion.
The entire Rocker series is a favorite of mine and I truly enjoyed these bonus books. I can only hope we get many many more for years to come.
"It had been so long since I'd seen that shirt, but I knew it was mine. I'd left it on the tour bus the summer Demon's wings and OtherWorld had toured together. Had she been sleeping in that shirt ever since? God, I hoped so."
5 rock me stars!!! I'm obsessed with this series, I can't get enough!!!
Lucy and Harris are going to be the death of me. I'm so emotionally invested in their relationship and they break my heart all the time. But I can't get enough of them, I love them so much. And this book will make you feel a million different things... sadness, hopeful, indifference, love and pure hot sexiness!!! Terri has done it again!!! Another great book in the series!!

This is the last book to a four part novella series. We finally get to know what happens with lucky and Harris but man are you in for a roller coaster. This book is full of emotions. You just want to yell at them both and tell them what they should do. This story is full of ups and downs and how when it's true love you don't have the option of moving on, or doing what's best for the other person. Harris can't get over what he did even if it was out of his hands and Lucy truly believes his last words to her. Will they be able to come full circle and see what they would be like together for good? You have to read to find out. This story showed so many different aspects of family and friends. They both have amazing support systems that want the best for them. Loved this short series and can't wait to see what's in store for us next. *Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood *
I was waiting for the final Lucy and Harris book forever and it was definitely worthed. The story picks up where it ended in ‘Craving Lucy’ and ‘Rocking Kin’. This story completely broke my heart. It was full of emotions, heartbreak. As same as the previous books from this series and ‘The Rockers’ series, Terri Anne Browning does a great job to show the importance of family and friends and their support to you even you are at your lowest. I loved it and totally recommend you to read the series. This is as much as I can give away in order not to ruin the book for you.
I've been waiting patiently for this book since the cliffy at the end of book 3. Exiled from her family and Harris Lucy is struggling but she's doing such a good job of hiding it nobody realises. When she comes home for her graduation Harris takes one look at her and sees the truth, that she's struggling just as much as him. I love the concept of family in this series, you can feel the love they have for each other, no one who try's to mess with them leaves unscathed. Lucy and Harris really are soul mates but they have been through so much and Lucy is in a dark place, can her family and Harrison's love pull her through.
“Un-Shattering Lucy” is a beautifully sweet conclusion to this series. The book has the perfect mix of depth, secrets and soul crushing love. With highs and lows for both Lucy and Harris. After everything these two have been through. Will they finally get their HEA? YES!!! Thank goodness!
Great, no cheating and a HEA. Some drama but nothing huge. She does have a cutting issue that comes out if that's a trigger for you, but it seems to be under control at the end with help from therapy and support of family. Jenna comes out of her she'll which is nice and Harris is totally devoted to Lucy as soon as he pulls his head from the sand.

I absolutely loved every single word of this book! Reading this story reminded me again and again why I should have read this book along time ago, but also why I love these characters with my whole heart. The story was emotional, it was wrong, it was rough and it was hard at times to read because of the struggles of these characters, but it was so real. It was heartbreaking but also breathtaking. It gave me so much with these characters. It brought me into the dark with them, but it also let me fight like hell right alongside them to get to that light. I loved getting to experience that.
What this author created in this book was phenomenal. It was everything I needed and more. I went into the book knowing that it would not be an easy read. With the set up in this series I knew that Lucy and Harris were in for one hell of a fight, but I was ready to see them go to those extremes for one another, and I was not disappointed one little bit by what I got with them in this book. Those two characters showed the tenacity, determination, heart and fire that defines them in the best way. They showed what it means to give it your all had to put all out there, and they never gave up. That alone completely won me over when I was reading this book
through every single page of this book, I felt and experienced and lived every part of the story with Lucy and with Harris. I sword with them, I broke with them, I felt like hell with them, and I felt every bit of their pain and their struggles as they tried to heal themselves and one another. Getting to be there as they fought that fight, as they put those pieces together, and if they did what they did was fantastic. It made me love what I was reading even more, and it showed me again and again why this series is one of my all-time favorites.
If you are a fan of this series, then you will not be let down by anything in this book. You will love what you get with these characters, you will love how they push your heart to the edge, and in the end, he will love getting to see them do you whatever it takes to get back to that place they know they’re meant to be. The story touched every part of my heart, it was a searing Romance that I could not get enough of, and it hasn’t even more eager to see how it will all come to a close and the final book. I started this book in love with everything about Lucy and Harris, and that love was multiplied a million times over through every page of their story.
I've been following this series from the very beginning. It was pretty decent then but as the books went on and the spinoffs happened I was really put off by a lot of things.
First, Emme. I'm just really blown away by how she's written to be this all-powerful Goddess who everyone should fear because she can literally make things happen. Everyone runs to her like she's the end all be all of everything. She needs to be in everyone's business and meddle into everything. Gimme a break!
Then there's the perfect big family where everyone gets along, everyone is in love, everything is perfect and they're one big happy family. BARF! It's actually quite disturbing the dynamic of these characters. There is so many under handed selfish behavior that it's sickening. When bad things happen or things start to unfold, they're all about laying the guilt on thick about how it affects them and taking the focus off the real problem. It's so beyond unrealistic that it just puts me off and makes me not wanna continue.
Harris & Lucy make me think that they aren't so much in love as they are obsessed with eachother. They're both so co-dependent that it literally stops them from living a normal, day to day life if they're not all up in eachother's shit. Plus I still feel skeeved that she's a kid & Harris is much older. It's weird & kind cringe inducing.
Oh & lets not forget how everyone treats Lucy like she's still in diapers! Holy shit! I mean, if she'd tell them to wipe her ass & feed her, they would. It's a very strange relationship they all have with each other.
Lucy Thorton and Harris Cutter were on their way to an everlasting love. Until a misunderstanding breaks them apart and they both struggle to pick up the pieces.
Lucy was a broken girl after her breakup with Harris Cutter. Even though she wanted to stay close to home her family convinced her it was best that she put as much distance between her and Harris as possible. It was time she put her own needs first and move on with her young life. She went but she wasn't happy about it. Lucy carries a shameful secret that has plagued her for years.
When Harris made the hardest decision of his life to leave Lucy alone and let her be happy without him he thought he was doing what was best for them both. But as soon as he sets his eyes on Lucy again he realizes that he made a terrible mistake. All he can do is think of how he can fix it, how he can make her his again. Make her look at him with joy and love and not sadness and sorrow.
It was a long road for Lucy and Harris to find their way back to each other. I have to admit I wasn't happy with the way the previous book ended. I knew they would find their way back to each other but I didn't want it to be hard. Then again if it was easy I wouldn't have enjoyed the book so much. Relationships are hard, young love even harder. When we are young we are still trying to find out who we have let alone who we are with another person. I think Lucy and Harris needed that time apart. Terri Anne Browning made their story real not just another instant love story. When they finally made their way back into each other's arms it was magical. Harris is desperately devoted to Lucy. My heart swelled with love for them both when Lucy admitted her dark secret to the love of her life. In true Harris fashion, he took on her demons and helped lead her through the battle.
As always we get a bit of the Demons in this book they all rally around Lucy in her time of need. But ultimately it's Harris who is her rock and always will be.
Awesome ending to this series and I hope to have Lucy and Harris pop up in more spinoff books.
I love Harris even more now!!! When a man really steps up and puts words into action to prove his point and make amends it makes me love him even more. So happy for Lucy and Harris and all they’ve overcome. Glad to Jenna coming back into he out self and healing after the cluster f$ck that happened with Tessa. So much happens in this new book; some good, some bad, some heart breaking and some that make you shake your head and say “really...did you really...” All-in-all loving how this story is progressing. Can’t wait for more.
On a side but very serious note: please don’t feel you are alone if you too are suffering from self-harming, addiction, depression or other issues. There is always someone there willing to help, to listen, to just be there. You are never alone.
WOW...I wish that was all I needed to say! This book was amazing! I think it was my favorite if that is even possible because I have loved them all. Everything that Lucy and Harris go through and when EVERYTHING comes out it is a jaw dropper. I actually felt the fear in her family when they learned what has been going on for years that they didn't know that she was able to hide from them. You felt her fear that once they all found out that they would not want her anymore that they would be angry with her but it was the complete opposite. Terri Ann did a fantastic job of researching this book and the storyline. Now bring on the next book.
