There once was a very popular question on the internet:
If one morning, you woke up and realized that your gender had changed, what would be your first reaction?
And someone on the internet had famously responded:
First, give your bros a good time!
Su Jian remembered that when he saw this reply, he had slapped the table to express his admiration. What a good bro! Such loyalty!
But now that he actually encountered this strange situation himself, he could only feel an extremely ball-breaking alarm, shocked grief, and frightened anger. Fuck your mom! Ah, Fuck! Fuck it!
Oh, a correction. The above is grammatically incorrect. After all, poor Classmate Su Jian doesn’t have balls anymore.
This is real good gender swap story, of a male into a female body and being clueless yet super hilarious in getting himself a husband for life thanks to his sassy personality 😂 👌
Once you get past the beginning with the protagonist's petty and a-hole-ish mental commentary, it gets a lot better, A LOT better. I love the book by the end, and I liked the slow journey they took. It felt just right. It's a hoot whenever the main character gets drunk. lol
I wish there's more fleshing out of the interaction with the friends, but it's really just icing on the cake, and the cake is already delicious. It's really very cute, though it did take me several tries at different points of time to get through the beginning. Just hold on! It gets better!
This novel is so calming because the drama is not over the top and just so so as it is slice of life kinda novel? so yeah, read it if you need to distract yourself. i also like the humor in this novel tho its not really funny but funny nonetheless. ;) For the character, i like both MC and ML as they feel so real, just like normal couple except the gender bender la. and i totally can relate to MC's feeling/attitude. Overall, imho, MC and ML suit each other so much! kbye.
4.5 stars. Hilarious, along with being very cute and sweet. Definitely recommended. Good translation. Would reread. I loved how Su Jian and An Yize's relationship progressed. It felt very natural and adorable. This book really did have me laughing out loud every single chapter. It was great!
Su Jian woke up in a female body. There's no other way to say it than straight to the point. And to take things up to another level, the female body is married to his love rival.
I usually avoided gender-bender tag because, for me, it's weird. In this story, An Yizhe doesn't even know that his wife's soul is swapped with a male soul. All he knows, she lost her memory after the accident, and her personality changed 180 degrees. She's no longer this reserved ladylike wife but more outgoing and blunt.
But, there's something about this story that made me change my mind. Su Jian was funny. She (he) took things one step at a time and wasn't annoying. At first, she (he) looked at An Yizhe as an enemy but grew to like him because it's not his fault if women fall for him left and right. And Su Jian came to realize that she (he) may not be the typical male lead but she (he)'s the female lead that got the male lead. And she (he) got the male lead wrapped around her little finger.
The plot was so unique! It definitely blew my mind as I read the first chapter. However, what I really enjoyed was the sweet and subtle way the novel was written and how the characters interacted. This novel is definitely one of my top picks for a cozy read.
This is the first gender bender novel that I've read and surprisingly, I ended up liking this more than I expected. This was funny and kind of frustrating at some parts but it was also very fluffy and heartwarming towards the end. The romance was kind of slow-moving and Su Jian (MC) and An Yize (ML) only "got together" after more than halfway through the book.
The reason was because SJ was obviously a man who couldn't reconcile the fact that he could possibly be attracted to AYZ, so the first half of the book is mostly the both of them navigating through their new life together. I do appreciate that the author actually took the time to develop their relationship from pseudo-enemies to acquaintances to friends to lovers. It showed that the author clearly respected her characters and readers and wanted this story to be somewhat realistic in terms of the timeline and feelings that SJ would have for AYZ.
Don't get me wrong, the first half of the book was fun but it's when they confess their deep feelings for each other and officially get together that things started being more substantially entertaining and heated up. They were very sweet and sticky together and I found it to be very cute and endearing, especially with how many times AYZ probably looked at SJ with exasperation yet deep fondness. AYZ was the initiator for most of the romance in their relationship in the beginning but after that SJ also learned to do things for his hubby and the way their relationship progressed was quite natural after that because both of them were doing things for each other because they wanted to, and not because they felt obligated to.
And I absolutely loved the extra/side stories that were included after the end of the main story. They were so fluffy and heartwarming and I couldn't help smiling while I was reading it. I'm really glad that they got a happy ending but I also kind of wished that SJ had told AYZ he was a man? Although I'm not sure how that would've played out, it sure would've been interesting to read.
Reborn As My Love Rivals Wife is really great and cute webnovel! The mc, Su Jian is really funny and lovable (though a little dense) and the ml, An Yize, is super cool, loyal, and a doting husband <33 Su Jian (a guy) gets in an accident and wakes up in a womans body who happens to have the same name as him who is also currently in a fake marriage to his love rival! (Not really though, An Yize was just someone Su Jian was jealous of bc he (An Yize) was popular and he (Su Jian) was not.) That's the beginning into the story and the rest of it is just fluff with some dog food sprinkled in! Some important and realistic points come into play as well . It is a really well written novel and the characters and their chemistry is really captivating! It is hard to look away when both Su Jain and An Yize are on the page together! Read it!! Is all I can say. You will definitely not regret. Short, cute, wholesome, good chemistry and realistic!! Whole package! Also it's the #1 (best) gender switch novel I've read ever (So read it). (also I am so jealous of Su Jian TT I want my own An Yize *sobs*)

-i'm not generally a fan of genderbends but this was... fine
-very cute at times. villains weren't too villainous, so it was mostly just fluff between mc and ml
-i appreciate the mc's maturity. knowing when to step back and think his relationship decisions through... we stan
-i'd hoped for ml knowing mc's true identity by the extras but oh well. it's fine either way :)
-i did feel like mc adapted to his new body a bit fast but his reasoning was sound... and i liked how the author addressed how uncomfortable he was for most of the book instead of just having him accept it
Mr.Queen adjacent, but unfortunately in this novel the male lead doesn’t really hold on his own. Su Jian is just so much more interesting than him, so it’s hard for me to stomach the two being together.
Not the typical transmigration storyline. There are no time jumps to the past. The author used realistic incidents showing a male soul coping with a female adult’s body. There are less cliches than in similar. So, less overdramatized scenarios. The couple had a good relationship whose growth had enough details to be enjoyable. Worth reading once.
First gender bend story so I wasn't sure what to expect
I enjoyed the plot a lot, it wasn't too overdramatic or intense, and whilst they did take the entire book to get together the journey was quite sweet to read, plus the side stories helped.
im glad acc that Jian Jian didnt tell her husband about being switched I feel like it would have just made the whole situation wayyy too complicated.

It’s my first time reading gender bender story so the story feel quite new to me. How the MC thought and behave after the rebirth felt realistic and acceptable. The slow burn romance between MC and ML kind of painstakingly sloww but what can I say, I understand that if you suddenly become an opposite gender, ofc you will feel loss.
Review said that it a fluffy story. But for me, it not really fluffy tho. It's funny. Also adorable at time but not really fluffy. More like realistic slice of life.
Towards the end, there’s something disturbing me a little. It about how ‘intimate’ the MC with his real brother. When they woke up tangling with eo, I feel really disturbed. Yes I know that they are actually REAL brother but the MC now is in a female body. Like— I don’t know. That just make me feel unsettled. Other than that, I think this book is worth reading. Especially if it your first time on gender bender.
