Book 1-Home for The Holidays

Christmas in the cozy town of Belhaven is a magical season, but this year it will be extra special for "Garden Girl" Gloria Rutherford. The much-anticipated wedding to the love of her life, Paul Kennedy, will soon take place and all of Gloria's children and their families will be coming home to celebrate.

Paul, only days away from retiring from Montbay County Sheriff's Department, drops a bombshell on Gloria when he tells her he's being investigated for criminal activity. Not wanting to drag Gloria into his crisis, Paul all but calls off the wedding and then suddenly disappears.

A heartbroken Gloria is ready to throw in the towel and run away until her friends, The Garden Girls, step in, determined to get to the bottom of Paul's investigation, clear his name and get the wedding back on track.

Will the girls be able to salvage Gloria's special day or will she soon be saying "Bah Humbug" instead of "I do?"

Book 2-Road to Savannah

Carlita Garlucci has sold everything she owns and left the only home she has ever known to move to historic Savannah, Georgia. Her daughter, Mercedes, is moving with her and the women are both excited and nervous about this new chapter in their lives, having always lived under the shadow of the men in the family.

The repairs to their inherited properties are moving along nicely and everything seems to be falling into place, everything that is, except for the body they discover inside one of the buildings, the dilapidated restaurant.

Despite the fact that the Garlucci family was not even in Savannah at the time the victim was murdered, they can't prove it. On top of that, the victim, a member of Savannah Architectural Society, also known as "SAS," had been sent to the property to discuss possible construction violations.

The other members of SAS are convinced the Garlucci family murdered one of their own while Carlita is convinced that someone is trying to frame them.

Can the mother / daughter duo figure out who the real killer is, or will the police dig into Carlita's past and discover that she has her own share of secrets she's trying desperately to leave behind?

Feel good cozy mystery set is delightful

Hope Callaghan has such wonderful sleuths and she combined them into one exciting collection. There is Millie from the cruise line set and I sure enjoy her mysteries. Gloria is in several featured and it is always fun to read about Her and her friends. This ones had Paul in danger. You know Gloria left no stones unturned.

Just as fun Collection of favorite sleuths. Try them out and see who are your favorites.

Nice Stories

This is a collection of nice clean stories of suspense. It was interesting to see into many different places, jobs, and lifestyles different from my own. Many of the people appeared to be about my age which was a plus.

An intriguing introduction to Hope Callaghan's cozy mystery series with a holiday and home theme, recipes included. Meet senior sleuth Gloria and the Garden Girls in small town Michigan. Discover historic Savannah, Georgia with senior sleuth Catlita and the relocated New York Garlucci family. Travel the Caribbean with senior sleuth and cruise director assistant Millie. Included in the set is one mystery with the twin sleuths Lucy and Loretta set in a trailer park in Misery, Mississippi and another mystery with sleuth Samantha Rite. Hope Callaghan weaves suspense, intrigue, historical facts, inspiring settings, with fun witty characters, an attention grabbing plot and satisfying even though not predictable resolution into a reading delight.

Christian cozy sampling

A selection of books from Hope Callahan, at least one from each of her popular series. Well written with a Christian bent, but not preachy, suitable for all ages.
The main characters are middle aged to seniors and are colorfully written

There were so many different mysteries and characters and locations and plots in this book. I enjoyed the fact that of the 6+ mysteries included, only a few had a repeat cast of characters. There is romance and religious subplots in the stories and the characters are fun- with enough flaws that they seem to be real folks. I enjoyed reading about the large cruiseline, and about the south and the historic places, there were jealous folks and older woemn solving mysteries, etc. Should be rated 3.5

This Christian Cozy Mysteries collection showcases a variety of interesting settings, from a cruise ship in the Caribbean to a restaurant in Savannah, Georgia then a small town in Michigan. The characters are believable and engaging and the books are well-written with good dialogue and mysteries that will keep you guessing, plus a bonus of scrumptuous recipes at the end. It's a wonderful bargain, great gift, or a treat for yourself!

Kind-of fun

These were nice cozy mysteries, seven books by same author. However, there books were not in order. Reading a very good book Suite Revenge, then later was Lethal Lobster, the first book was read second. Kind if confusing. They are separate books but in a series. Another series the same thing happened. That my only complaint. Love the recipes.

Simply enjoying entertainment. No serious hidden meaning behind the characters actions. A family read on a cold night in front of the fireplace..

Good variety

I enjoyed reading this collection. It was a good variety of Hope Callaghan works. I am already very interested in several of her series and look forward to reading those. This is a great set for someone who is not familiar with her books and is looking for fun, clean, well written, cozy mysteries.

Just not worth the time

Very simple stories. Plots are boring and just too sweet. Not up to most of the usual authors writing. Will be more careful on what to purchase in the future.

You can never go wrong with a Hope Callaghan book

Hope Callaghan's characters are people you want to meet and have to follow from book to book. She gives you enough hints to follow while leaving the ending a surprise.

A great cozy read

I really enjoy this author. Her books are good clean reading. Laugh out loud funny. I recommend this author and her different series. My only this is when there are books from the same series in a box set that they go in order.

as with all collections i try to review as i go along- I have actually put the reviews with the actual book although these must be abridged versions since the page counts don't match up.
Main complaint is that where there are 2 of the same series they are out of order in the book so I ended up reading #10 before #6 of the Garden Girls mystery and #8 before #3 of the Cruise ship mysteries. The stories are all mid series so if you were thinking of using this collection as an intro to the series- I don't recommend it because you are kinda being thrown in mid story. If you are looking for very light cozies with a heavy Christian/prayer/preachy over/undertone then this is for you.
