Caveman Aliens #3

Caveman Alien's Rage

Rate this book

Dar'ax is the kind of alien caveman who takes what he wants!

I kind of like that in a guy...

It's just that what he's taken now is me!

He just threw me over his lap and trotted away with me, into the jungle of this Jurassic planet...

On a freaking T. Rex!

Because those lethal alien dinosaurs I'm so afraid of?

Yeah, he's riding one!

There's no way I'm going to be the kind of girl who falls for her kidnapper...

But he's making it hard for me to resist. Not only is he huge and super confident, he's also drop-dead gorgeous, with his stripes and his fangs and his golden hair that shines with an inner light...

I think we're going to his cave. Judging from the enticingly large tent he's pitching in his loincloth. I think he has plans for when we get there!

And I think they involve me becoming his mate...

We'll just see about that!

Because, while he does turn me into a hot mush on the inside, an alien caveman with a dark secret, and an anger problem, feels kind of dangerous to me...

This is a combined review for Books 1 through 6 in the Caveman Aliens series by Calista Skye

Someone suggested I give this series a try. It’s on Kindle Unlimited and since I had a free subscription at the time I gave it a go. It wasn’t bad. It’s a silly alien sci-fi romance that you can read in a day. Not much plot or substance to it. Sometimes you just need something silly and with no substance to read.

The books are an alien abduction survival type read. The books are all a little bit silly. They are slow moving in parts and a bit choppy.

The concept of the Jurassic planet was interesting. It’s a planet with dinosaurs, weird bugs, plants, and Caveman. Their are no women on this planet.

When the series starts we meet several different women who are all College age students working on a project when some aliens come to earth and kidnapped women only. Those aliens that kidnapped the women end up crash landing on this Jurassic planet. The women are trying their best to survive on this Jurassic plant and soon learn they aren’t alone.

The romance in each book is very quick. Each women ends up being kidnapped by a different kind of Caveman. They pretty much fall fast and the sex is hot and primal. These Caveman end up take the women back to their tribes and we soon learn that not all the men in the tribes are good. Most of the men want to capture and force the women into being breeders aka sex slaves or the Caveman want to kill them to complete this prophecy to bring back The Women.

As the series goes on we learn their is a small underline plot on how these Caveman came to be on this Jurassic planet and what their purpose is or was.

In book five we get a brief recap of what has happened so far. This is where we learn about the underlining plot and find more women are alive and have been trapped on this star shaped land island due to a Dragon like creature.

In book six we learn why and how the Caveman came to be on this plant and their weird belief system. I didn’t care for book six. This is where I became all Caveman’d out. The issue I had with, six, was how slutty Delyah became. I get the weird water makes them lower their inhibitions, but this was over the top.

One thing that really frustrated me in this series was that each women even after they found their Caveman lover they still think they can get home. After 10 months wouldn’t it come to your mind that you aren’t getting home. Even if you do find another spaceship… How are you going to fly it?

As far as things go. The Caveman Aliens series was just ok.

With a title like that, i didn't have a huge expectation but for a book with a T. Rex & Raptor riding alien Caveman, this book was unbelievably boring and a huge disappointment.

First of all, Dar'rax and Heidi's relationship seemed forced, there was clear lack of chemistry and emotional connection. There was a lot of boring, descriptive repetitive perfunctory sex.

Dar'ax is a huge caveman alien who grew up in a hostile planet in an all male alien society, females are a myths/legends in his planet. So when he accidentally comes across Heidi while out casually riding his T. Rex, he gives into his impulse and kidnaps her away from her friends and she seems to be okay with that.

Heidi and her friends were kidnapped from earth by other aliens with superior technology and dropped off at this planet full of predators and dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes and no one knows why!

So Heidi is feeling lonely, bored and jealous because her two of her friends found themselves a Caveman to love and protect them. Dar'ax has lived alone for10 years after his tribe were killed by an enemy tribe when he was young. So he is lonely, a virgin and has never seen a woman before...and the rest is history! This is the story of two people finding a purpose together because life is short and why not live for the moment. Their relationship was not romantic, sweet or hot IMO.

An alien Caveman taming and riding a T. Rex and a Raptor was...well, a bit weird even for me! It was just thrown into the story without an explanation, especially since Dar'ax is the first of his kind to accomplished this impossible task.

The ladies trapped in this crazy world are seemingly intelligent, well educated engineers and inventors who speak several languages, so why do they say and do annoyingly stupid things like calling the alien Raptor the "not-raptor" raptor! It was really annoying to read that over and over again.

The stilted way Heidi spoke Dar'ax's language made their conversation sound ridiculous. Here is an example:

“No, no. Horse is much less dangerous than rekh. Is nice, cute animal. Is Small. Rekh is Big and very very dangerous.” I brighten as I think of an argument that has to work. “Bite Heidi in half, no more can ride Dar'ax to nice scream in ear.”

There was a lot of that and worse and I had enough of it. I didn't find anything vaguely redeeming or interesting in this book. Even the dinosaurs and the fight scenes were more boring than reading the ingredients on a can of tuna.

I occasionally read this sub-genre because i have kindle unlimited and i like being adventurous when i don't have to buy the book. This way, I tend to discover new authors and come across some great books and a few gems but i also end up reading a few duds like this one. Oh well, on to the next genre!

YAY! Another book in the Caveman Alien's series. I really like this jurassic world she's created. In this book Heidi gets snatched up by a T-Rex riding Dar'ax. Dar'x is a lone wolf. He has no tribe left and is on a mission that will most likely be the end of him. But when he sees Heidi he can't help but to take her. He can't even explain it to himself as to why he takes her, he just knows she belongs with him.

As he takes Heidi along with him, she is very resistant to falling in love with him, which is sort of funny, because she puts so much emphasis on that, that its like she knows its inevitable from the very beginning so she has to keep reminding herself.

But when she finally caves to her emotions and sees the broken man that is caring for her, she wants nothing more than to take him back to her tribe. With Jax'zan and Ar'ox already looking out for the girls she knows Dar'ax would be welcome and his unique set of skills for taming and riding dinosaurs could definitely help with the safety of their tribe. But she just needs to convince him of that.

I liked this book a little better than the first book in the series. I liked the new added twist of Dar'ax being able to control a dino, though you do have to suspend all disbelief if you want to make it through this book. Now that they finally focused on the spaceship/Bune, I'm actually interested in what happens with it. I also want to read Delyah's story, she's the only one out the group that I like.

I liked the first 2 books in this series, but this one was a bit of a let down. the MCs are mediocre and the writing style has gotten progressively worst. the storyline is really interesting though. I think I'll give the next book a shot hopefully the author doesn't continue to write like a 15yr old.

A whole bunch of women are kidnapped by aliens. However, the aliens who abducted them never take them wherever it is they're going before crash landing. On the positive sides, all the aliens that abducted them have gone. On the negative side, the planet they've crashed landed have alien versions of dinosaurs and has left them no means of getting back home. On the other plus side the planet does seems to have some very friendly, and gorgeous, caveman aliens that seem willing to help them.

So I read the first three books in this series in rapid succession and although I enjoyed them (obviously as I read all three of them pretty damn quick!) they were all followed the same basic pattern. Which, is why I am reviewing them all at the same time as I feel the same about each book.

The first three books are:

1. Caveman Alien's Ransom
2. Caveman Alien's Mate
3. Caveman Alien's Rage

In each book, each woman gets rescued and then kidnapped by her caveman alien, who look similar to humans only are bigger and have stripes like a tiger. The caveman alien keeps her safe and they fall in love. Of course, in each book there are different and interesting nuances to each tale, but that's the bare bones.

I like the idea of this Jurassic Park alien world, it's kind of ridiculous, but a lot of fun and I enjoyed reading the romance between each woman and her very eager to please caveman alien. For a pre-historic people that had no women they were very civilised. So, if you want a fun and sexy alien romance, give these a try they are short but sweet.

ok. Not as good as first, but better than second in the series.

Hero was different and, IMO, really let her down. I really liked Heidi though.

It's okay.
Too insta for me.
The lack of language barrier is also an issue for me. Other authors have used this as humour or misunderstandings about simple things, all this is missing.
It has some interesting ideas and culture but I've read it done better.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Other couples appear from previous books as they are living as one tribe and breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.

Very cute

An abduction then another abduction Roman. Totally cute heroine and a lone hero on a prehistoric planet. Funny with a lot of action and sexy moments. Totally worth the read.

2.5-3✨

“They're costly to get, these women. But when you have her, your life is never the same.”

I found these books to be of great help if you're looking for something to pass the time. Nothing mind blowing plot-wise, but still a pretty fun read.
I was a little on the fence about the characters, though.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Dar'ax, he's so sweet. At first he came off as being gruff and moody, but really, he's just like a lost boy. A lost boy riding a T-Rex. He's charming, I swear. What's more, that guy sure knows how to make a proposal and he chooses just the best time to do that! So, yeah, I loved that alien.
Heidi, on the other hand, just plain annoyed me. It felt as though she so desperately wanted a caveman alien for herself, she would have taken any one she came upon. I did not appreciate that vibe at all.
I was also very sad to see Gerk go. That whole situation was just stupid.
But anyway, can we just take a pause and talk about aliens finding out about how babies are born?

“It is a horrific idea,” Jax'zan agrees. “And my Sophia will be the first to experience it.”
“Then we will all watch it with interest,”

I'm sure as hell will be looking forward to that book.

Lots of dinosaurs and cheesy dialogue.

There's so many "fluffy/trashy" romances on Kindle Unlimited and this is another one I couldn't help but download. Lately, I've been into the whole alien thing. This one has a bunch of girls being deposited on a Jurassic planet with dinosaurs and alien men (called "cavemen" because they're strong, I guess? And may live in a cave? But considering the aliens have language, culture, etc., "caveman" doesn't really fit) that have never seen a woman before. I read this book first, not realizing it's the third one, and that's fine. I didn't feel lost as the author does a pretty good summary of the women's plight on the planet.

So here's what worked for me: the men are all virgins (I love that trope in romance books); there's no Mind Bond, Fated Bond, or whatever you want to call it (that trope is so ridiculously convenient); the heroine didn't annoy me too much; the hero was interesting, especially his backstory. That whole tragic past without being an angst-ridden whiner.

Here's what didn't work for me: the grammar mistakes and weird syntax (a good beta reader would have caught those easily); Insta-love (the heroine literally decides she loves the hero the first time they have sex)...

...in fact, the lack of buildup to falling in love was probably the biggest disappointment. In abduction stories, it's all about how the guy will convince the girl he's really an okay dude. From the beginning, Dra'ax is a step above a lot of alien heroes since he makes it obvious he isn't going to rape the heroine and that his actions weren't fueled by lust (or not mainly by lust). But he still abducted her. I wanted her to be angry about that, for them to spend time talking and getting to know each other, and for her to slowly grow attached to him. But even as he's abducting her, she's falling for him.

The other thing that really bothered me? Weird word choice. For example, more often than not, a woman's vagina is referred to as "slit", which must be one of the least sexy things to call it. And people curse by saying things like "oh my stars" (in fact that's what the heroine says the first time she sees the hero's penis) and every time it sounds ridiculous. But then the other half of the time the heroine's saying fuck? What?

Bottom line: entertaining read for dinosaurs and general premise, but nothing special. Also really needs closer editing.

Scarred Dar'ax

The story of Heidi and her Caveman Dar'ax and this one was more action packed than the rest. It had more twists, suspense and angst to it and not so much repition as the first two. There was an aura of mystery and tragedy over our leading male Dar'ax and I found myself anxious to find out what it was. Their encounter was not like the others, Heidi was not in danger but was merely spotted by him and becomes the object of his fascination. He was the most impressive of all the Cavemen by far I mean the guy could tame feakin Dino's for goodness sake! He kidnaps her riding a T-Rex which was awfully cool I have to admit and refuses to let her go or take her back home. At first their a bit cold to each other as Heidi's not happy with what he did and he's the brooding, strong silent type. Slowly she's able to crack open the shell he's created around himself and his heart, we see another side of him a more content and happy soul. It was heart breaking reading what he thought of himself, the self deprecating view and low self worth he had of himself. He couldn't have been more wrong; he was beautiful inside and out, possessed a courageous spirit, was protective, caring and kind. Consumed by his mission he was unable to accept the happiness he could finally have with Heidi as his mate, he felt unworthy and undeserving of such a joy. Heidi was such a sweet girl, very down to earth, brave and a very dirty girl lol. Once she got a taste of Caveman dong she became addicted lol the poor guy even called her insatiable and that was putting it nicely. It would have been nice though to have the male lead once in a while be the one to initiate sex not just the girl's all the time as happens in all three books. I mean their a female less planet you'd think that once the males got a taste of it they'd be hooked and be just as demanding as the girls or even more so. Their was so much angst going on in this story that I felt so sad for Heidi, him putting his mission above her made her feel that she wasn't good enough for him and he definitely made the wrong choice. I enjoyed the story even with my issues and the fact that the story has a rescue scene towards the end like the first book did and that the story concludes just like the previous two but way cooler once you read the epilogue.

The best book in the series so far.

“I can't live with the risk of her getting hurt in my mission. She's as alive and bright as the sun itself. That must continue. I will not infect her with the darkness that is my life.”

This book had a well-devised plot along with an in-depth character development. We were introduced to Dar'ax who's quite unlike the male leads from previous stories. He seemed more troubled and lonely, dealing with something and well, just trying to survive on the prehistoric planet like everyone else on Xren.

Then we see Heidi, who's quite self-sufficient but longs for more. I just know that Heidi fell for Dar'ax at the very first glance; plus Dar'ax was initially quite astounded to come across a female on his planet but soon they fall for each other and sparks fly.

I'm really addicted to this series!

If you told me try any book with the words Caveman and Alien, I'd be thinking... "Wooo! Really scraping the trash barrel huh?"

Wrong!

It's not high brow literature but it is a damned good ride (all puns intended). The story of survival, the way the plots unravel, the way trust and communication build between the characters, the different skills we learn about, the ever-looming idea of returning to Earth. It's enough to keep me reading when I should be sleeping, cleaning house, doing work, etc.. . You get the picture.

I can't wait to see what happens when the babies are born. And what's the story with Bune? Oh yes, another sleepless night that I am certainly looking forward to!

As I expected, the stories and the characters themselves are beginning to have real depth and meaning. This story touched me imaging his solitary lonely life for nine years and the depth felt of his surviver’s guilt. I was very sad over the situation with Gert and kept hoping that he’d show up again in the end. They had been through so much together.

Told in first person; between Heidi’s POV and Dar’axs’ POV.
Unlike the ladies from the first 2 books, Heidi was snatched right off her feet by Dar’ax instead of being saved by him at first meeting. But he did save her ass when she tried to run away and later realized it’s safer to be with sexy cavemen. Dar’ax kidnapped Heidi because he had a knowing feeling of “she’s mine.” And from then on it’s fake it ‘til you make it.

-1 Star
I stopped reading at 57%. I don’t know, it just got kinda boring and I had to skim read through 30% of it. And yes, even through the sex scenes. I was still confused about Dar’axs’ “mission” and the book didn’t really explain what exactly is his mission. I didn’t read enough to find out if it’s even explained later on in the book.

The element of love. I didn’t see the reason why Heidi would “love” Dar’ax since she’s in this situation because of him. I mean yeah he went out of his way (walked the whole night apparently) to retrieve her lost items but hey, this wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t kidnapped her first.

-1 Star. (Same as previous books)
Even though the aliens have “lost all their women” for many man generations, they still learned of their history when women did existed. The marriage custom. The kissing. The self categorization of themselves as humans even tho their anatomies are very different.

They learned how to eat pussy when they’re just boys, a knowledge taught to every boy by their shamans to maintain tradition just in case they ever encounter the divine being of legends, the Women. They only had 1 figure model of the vagina for each tribe so I’m not sure how every tribesmen practice giving oral, unless they have multiple lessons on oral sex?

Also, it’s just some speech patterns of the characters that really throws me off. Like the human women uses the word “Stars” as a slang instead of the typical “holy shit.” For example:

“Stars, he’s had it tough.”

“Stars, he’s taking to this like fish to water.”

“Stars, they’re coming fast!”

The list goes on. I would expect the alien cavemen to use it. (They use “Holy Ancestors” instead.)

Book 3 in series

Jurassic Park meets sex in the city!... I laugh EVERYTIME I read that because this book is not that!! It’s earth girls are easy v’s predator... and in this book with a a dash of black beauty... ok I sick I don’t know any movies about people taking/riding horses etc... but if you read this book you will see what I mean

This book follows on from book 2... our band of merry women plus two alien cave men have settled into a semblance of domestic bliss, they have a new cave.. an iron forge and blacksmith, have started farming and discovered leaves that they chew in lieu of toothpaste. With two babies on the way the tribe want nothing more than to settle and lay down roots but following a call of nature Heidi spots something strange in the dark.... a caveman riding a T. rex!! And he in return spots her! Believing him to be a scout for an impending attack the tribe return to Bune mountain ( which isn’t actually a mountain but a decrepit spaceship however the search of bune goes astray when the T. rex riding caveman shows up and kidnaps Heidi.

I actually loved this story... it was the best one for me so far... I’m hoping the next instalment follows very very soon.
