Devil's Riders #4

Dance With The Devil

Rate this book
I waited years for her. One day she disappeared without a trace. I just didn’t know she was carrying my baby.

I’m one of the Sons of Satan, part of an inner circle we call The Devil’s Riders. I was just a prospect when I first saw her.

Becky Townsdale, the curvy girl who worked at Mae’s diner.

She’s so pretty it hurts to look at her. I waited to make a move until I was officially a Devil’s Rider. And then, the night of the club Prez’s wedding, I made her mine.

Devlin and Kaylie might have gotten married that night, but we’re the ones who made a baby. I just didn’t know it yet.

Now she’s back in town to help Mae save the diner before it gets shut down. She’s avoiding me but I’m not having it. I’ve waited a year to get over her and it never happened.

I want her back, this time for good. And that’s before I find out about the baby.

She’s mine and she doesn’t even know it yet.

Whiskey has not been the same since the girl of his dreams left without a trace. Whiskey has no idea why Becky Townsdale left but when he gets word she is back, he wants answers. Becky however is doing her best to avoid Whiskey and when it is revealed why she left and what she has been keeping a secret, Whiskey holds tight not planning to let her go again.

Overall I really enjoyed this one but I did think Whiskey was a little too instant forgiveness where Becky was concerned. Becky you get why she did what she did but wish she would have used her brain a bit. Fun story, look forward to more in this series.

I adore the Devil Riders series!! It is among one of my favorite MC series . In book 4 of this series, we have Whiskey and Becky’s story. Whiskey knew Becky was his by just one look and he would never need another woman because Becky was his “forever” girl. They spend a some great couple weeks together then suddenly Becky disappeared and he couldn’t find her. Whiskey was devastated, he loved her and couldn’t understand what happened. Becky loved Whiskey but there was something that scared her off..you need to read to find out what that was. Then a year later she is back to help Mae save the dinner so it doesn’t get shut down. Thing though, Whiskey expects answers as to why she ran but Becky is hiding something. A HUGE something. Will Whiskey get his answer and will Becky realize that her running was all for naught? Will Whiskey convince Becky to give him another chance and that their love is real and true?
This was an awesome read, had some great moments with action and romance along with getting look back at previous couples in this series. Bring on book 5 in this MC series for I cant get enough of the realness and heartwarming feels in the books.

My Rating: 4.6 stars *****

Good to get back to The Devil's Riders.

Whiskey & Becks' story was frustrating, fun, sexy & had lots of "aww" moments. It was nice seeing them reunite & have a second chance at romance together.

Whiskey... Loved everything about him except for his inability to push sweet-butts off of his lap. (Devlin needs to deal with that sh*t, STAT.) Pushing an annoying, drunk club wh*re off of your lap is not abuse, Whiskey. Other than that... Loved his determination in winning Becks back, his celibacy while they were separated, how forgiving he was & the way he instantly adored Eliza.

Becks... The whole reason for her leaving was a bit lame. I can see why she thought what she did but she should've taken the b*tches by their horns (since Whiskey was a weenie-ball about the situation) & thrown them off of her man! Oh, & she should've smashed that camera too! At the very least, she should've confronted him instead of running away for a year.

LOVED getting more Kaylie & Devlin! They still remain my favorite couple in this series, so I was over-the-moon happy for what happened to them in this book. :)

Curious to see if Calloway will get his own book. Until then (if that day comes, that is), I'm diving back in for a Kaylie & Devlin re-read!

Side note: The guys' vocabulary of "tatas", "kidlets" & "critters"... not working for me.

Another MC story that I enjoyed reading. Still love MC stories.
The story of Whisky and Becky is one of misunderstanding and secrets. A meeting of a man and a young woman at a wedding. They fall in love and spending time together and then a believed betrayal is seen. The woman runs away and the man...

Unbelievable! None of the characters in this series have any depth. I wanted to know more about the lives of these men, what brought them to the club? It's hinted that their lives were horrible in their early years, that's it. This is the most tame motorcycle club that I have ever heard of. You don't need torture and a lot of violence, but you do need something. The president of the club would last a week, if that. The rest of the club would have gotten rid of him long ago. If he had any strength, it was never shown. He acted like a high school kid. There was nothing going on in the club a all. No turf wars, no real angst. One of the other members tied a woman to the bed, thinking it was sexy. She was beaten and abused by her ex, and he knew that. I don't know why she didn't have a problem with that. When Becky leaves Whiskey without a word of explanation, not even confronting the situation, that should have been it. If she didn't care enough to find out what was going on and also being pregnant with his child, then she deserved whatever she got. We were told what happened, not shown. Everything happened before we even started the book. He finds out about the baby and he's happy, not even a little bit ticked that she kept it from him. But the main thing about all of these men, is that they're portrayed as Alphas taking care of their women. No they are not. Whiskey has people on guard duty for Becky and the baby 24/7. Huh? Then he ties her to the bed until she agrees she won't ever leave him again. He even says that eyes will always be watching her, because he will never lose her again. This is the very definition of abuse. I can't see one of these relationships (if that's what you want to call it) lasting. The girls are just that, girls. They don't act like women they act like highschool teenagers, in fact on of them was a teenager and brokered a deal with her mother. Way to go mom. I just meant to comment on this particular story, but the previous ones are pretty much the same s@#t different couples. I just can't go on anymore with this series. All the men could be models, their so gorgeous. Does that sound like any motorcycle club you've ever heard of. Looking into the future, all I can see is domestic violence. When you start off being stalked by a man and if he isn't around, he sends his friends to stalk you, ties you to a bed until you agree to never leave him and generally treats you like his favourite toy, what happens when he gets tired of you, or you step out of line?
There was no development of the characters, and I truly didn't care what happened to any of them. One last thing, that really stuck in my mind was the club president getting drunk for days or weeks because his girlfriend wouldn't agree to marry him, when he just stood up and announced they were getting married without asking her first. How long do you think the president of a motorcycle club would last? He wasn't setting any kind of example of strength or leadership. Nothing, just drank and felt sorry for himself. He would be either voted out or he'd disappear, one way or another he would be gone. I hate giving up on a book or series, but this was just ridiculous. Every time I pictured them on motorcycles, all I could see were the little ones at the amusement parks, going around and around. With the little guys eating cotton candy.

Rebecca left due to a misunderstanding. Had she questioned him she would have realized it wasn’t what she thought. I’d have been pissed too but not sure I’d have moved away. No ow/om during separation.

First off, I LOVE this series! I think the stories in this standalone series are a wonderful and fun to read. The fact that they are safe MC reads makes them that much better. This story; however, was a miss for me. Here is what I enjoyed and what I found lacking:

Whiskey and Becky they were good characters if not a bit naive and juvenile. They were apart from each other for a year because Becky was so soft and foolish to wait another minute to see if what she was seeing was real. She did not trust Whiskey, or their relationship, and left without talking to him. The characters in this story (all of them) just did not feel established and settled like they did in other books; they felt a bit hollow to me.

One thing I did enjoy was getting the story through the eyes of past characters so that this story was more than just Becky and Whisky’s version. There were multiple POV’s and it was like the entire club had an opinion and was part of the action in getting these two back together. Though there was way less MC action in this story, as a reader, I still felt the love, friendship and dedication that each of these characters have for each other. It was also really nice to catch up with past characters and see how their lives are going and what is new in them.

The sentence structure of this story is what impaired me it the most. In about 85% of the sentences there were less than seven words. This made the story choppy, stilted, and bothersome to read. It did not flow for me, so I had a difficult time finishing it. There were also random exclamation points throughout the story that felt misplaced within the dialogue. The writing felt amateurish and too simple when compared to this author’s previous work.

I enjoy this series, as I have said, and will read any future stories. It was just this particular story that did not work for me. I understand that I am in the minority with my personal opinion regarding this story, but wanted to be honest and open in my review. I received and ARC and am leaving an honest review, I also bought this book because I wanted to support this author and this fun series, along with adding it to my collection.

I had a really hard time connecting with Whiskey and Becky. I think I'm just in a book funk, but man... I struggled to finish (& enjoy) this one. There were definitely parts I liked, but Whiskey using sex to get what he wants from Becky-- ick. Ick ick ick. I hate it when women do that, and I hate it just as much when men do that. I also thought there was too much time dedicated to secondary characters. These books are not long, and we (or, I) really need that time to connect with the main couple. While I love short, brief updates on past loved characters, I don't need entire chapters dedicated to couples who have already gotten their HEA.

Safety gang: NO cheating. The reason Becky left was... understandable, but her reaction was extreme. I'm surprised she never came to her senses and went back-- to Mae, at least-- WELL before a year had passed. I could totally see her running off and getting her head on straight-- but to be gone for a YEAR, and all she saw were a couple of chicks sitting on Whiskey's lap? I mean, don't get me wrong, if my guy let that happen... well, hell hath no fury. And he's gotta sleep sometime.

Anyways, there's no cheating. Both are celibate while separated, and Whiskey is pretty much a hot mess without Becky. We don't really get to see what Becky's life was like without Whiskey, but we know that she still loves him and cares about him, so we can assume she was also miserable. Becky was a virgin when she and Whiskey first got together. There's no abuse, and there's really almost no push/pull, other than the year they were separated. It doesn't take long for Becky to come around and see that she and Whiskey (and Eliza!) belong together as a family. Whiskey's recovery from finding out that Becky ran away and had his child-- commendable. Seriously. It actually seemed like the author needed to wrap up the story in a certain amount of pages, so she just wrote Whiskey as having NO issue (anger, betrayal, hurt, etc) at Becky keeping Eliza away from him for months.

Although, these books aren't as "one click" as they used to be, and they're definitely losing their shine and becoming repetitive, I'm sure I'll read the next one.

Michael "Whiskey" is a member of the Spawns MC aka Devil's Riders. From the first time he saw Becky working at her aunt's cafe, he knew...she was it. But he had no idea that just a few weeks after he finally got her, she would disappear. And for a whole year he hasn't stopped looking for her, missing her and loving her. So when she returns he is determined to get her back. But can he fix whatever it was that caused her to leave in the first place? Can he convince her to give him another chance?
Becky has had a crush on Whiskey from the beginning. So, when he takes her home, she has no qualm about him being her first. But after a few weeks, just when she thought that they were exclusive and he felt the same, she walked into the clubhouse to see him with two other women, and the next day she was gone. But at the time she left she had no idea she was pregnant. Now a year later she is returning home with their baby girl to help her aunt Mae with the cafe, but what about Whiskey? Did Becky really see what she thought she did that night? Will they be able to work everything out? And most importantly, what will Whiskey do when he discovers Becky's secret?
If you love sweet, sexy, funny, and second chance stories, you will really enjoy this one because it has it all! And don't forget the rest of the gang, as you get to catch up with the previous three couples from this series.
This is the fourth book in this series and they just keep getting better and better. If you haven't read the first three, I would recommend doing so before you read this one so you don't feel lost.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Tired of outside prospective

It was alright, the book was good. It was interesting to see a new character get introduced by bringing a baby into the picture. Though. I find it really hard to follow the time line of this book when everyone is having babies every other chapter.
Janet has 4-5
Sally has 1
Kaylie has 1
And now Rebecca has 2
Like jeez, that's a lot to take in a book.

Don't get me it's cute, I'm glad we're seeing the other characters from the past books grow. But these Aren't their books. So why are they getting a perspective in the book. Why are their chapters about the past characters having spicy scenes with their husbands.
Like they had their book already, no need to put it here too.

Honestly having to keep up with Kaylie, Janet, Sally, and Rebecca all in one book is just becoming to much for me. And now I'm nervous that the next book will just adding Rebecca to the mix and I'll have to try and take in the info with them as well.
And this is just if you count the girls!
You also have to read all of their hubby's povs.

It just feels like theirs some un-needed chapters.
All in all, if u take out the stressful 5-10 other povs. Than it's it's amazing. The story between whiskey and Rebecca was cute, just ruined by everything around it.

Also who starts a spice scene, just to make the next chapter a steamy scene between two completely different characters. Then go back to their spice scene the next chapter.
That made me laugh a lot when that happened.

Whiskey is a member of The Devil’s Riders MC, and Becky Townsdale Mae’s niece, who runs the local diner that all the guys go to. When Whiskey goes to his Prez Devlin’s wedding to Kaylie, he finally has his cut and decides that he has been waiting long enough to make his move, so he does. He’s been waiting for years for Becky, and after one night he knows that she’s the one that he wants to spend forever with.. that is, until a few weeks later she takes off unexpectedly. A year later, she’s back in town to help her aunt, and Whiskey knows that it’s his last chance to make her his. When he goes over to try to win her back, with a help from his “brother” Calloway, in their drunken states they hear a baby crying but doesn’t sink in until he’s sober enough to let it all sink in. Now that he knows they belong together, and that she’s the mother to his baby, Whiskey will stop at nothing to make them a family. Will Whiskey be able to find out the truth about why she ran a year ago? And will he be able to fix their problems and convince her they belong together?

Another biker bites the dust. One look at this curvy waitress and Whiskey was gone. No other woman would do. He'd waited and watched until the time was right. Their friend's wedding. He couldn't wait any longer. Becky was going to be his.

She couldn't figure out why the hot guy kept hanging around work. He didn't even seem to like her. He watched her all the time but never asked her out. Until he did. Well, maybe not on a date exactly. His kisses overwhelmed her and she gave all.

Then she was gone. He looked but couldn't find her. For a year. Now she was back. He wanted to make her pay for his pain. He wanted her more. But she was hiding something. She wanted him. He knew it, but what was holding her back?

These bikers are loyal, loving, oh very loving, and protective. Most of all, they are single-minded when it comes to their women. Make no mistake, she was his and he was going to get her back and never let her go again.

I love the series and could read about these guys forever. Hope there is more to come.

All the pin over A misunderstanding

It was love at first sight but a misunderstanding separated them from each other for a year..

I pulled her against me, cradling the baby between us. I could feel the firm roundness of her belly. She wasn’t as soft as usual. It made me swell up with pride. My Becky had a bun in the oven. And this time I’d be there every step of the way to watch it bake. “I just thought you might want to do it before you start showing.” “Before I what?!?” She stared at me, outraged. I raised my eyebrows. Finally she threw her hands up, giving me a pissy look. “How did you know?” “Sweetheart, I pay extremely close attention to these curves of yours. I notice everything.” I squeezed her rump as I said it and she giggled. “That’s my girl. When were you planning on telling me?” “I don’t know. I was still coming to terms with it.” “Uh huh. Not getting itchy feet are you?” She looked serious suddenly. I tried not to worry about her taking off, but I still did. I couldn’t help it. “No, Whiskey.” She kissed me. “Never.”

Becky and Whiskey's Second chance is perfect blend of heartwarming and hot - get ready for a wild ride. Becky gave herself wholeheartedly to Whiskey a year ago when he finally made his move on her. She fell headlong for the man and gave him her innocence, trust, and heart. She was disheartened to find that the man she thought loved her was untrue and left town shattered. Whiskey loved Becky from the moment he lays eyes on her and hasn’t even looked at another woman since. When he finally gets her in his arms he feels like all his dreams have come true. But when she just takes off without so much as a Dear John letter he is heartbroken. When she comes back to town he is determined to get the story out of her and will not take no for an answer. Whiskey doesn't know it, but Becky took more than just his heart when she left town, she also was pregnant. Without even knowing, Whiskey has his family on the line and he will have to make Becky stay forever this time.

I enjoyed this latest installment in the Devil's Riders series!! This is the story of Whiskey and Becky. One look at Becky, Whiskey knew that she was his forever girl. They spend a magical couple of weeks together and then one night Becky disappeared and he couldn't find her. Whiskey knew that she was the one for him and that no one else would do. Becky really liked Whiskey but after seeing what she did she doubted his feelings for her and ran away. Now that she is back...Whiskey wants answers. Becky doesn't want to see him at first but she is also afraid that he won't be happy when he sees what surprise she has for him.

I highly recommend this book...its a great story and I liked how we got a glimpse into the other couples from prior books. I can't wait to read what is next for this series....well done!!!

This book focuses on Whiskey (Michael) and Rebecca.

This book was very cute and very steamy. The story didn’t have a major problem for the couple to overcome besides Becky leaving Whiskey without explanation. Then of course she comes back and all is revealed with a little meddling from the MC members.

I loved how much Whiskey loved Becky and how he continued to pine for her and didn’t touch another woman while she was gone. I will say that Becky acted very immature and made some bad decisions.

This started off hot and just kept going, everything moved quickly from the moment Whiskey and Becky got together. It was nice to see all the couples from previous books and how they are doing.

Callaway looks to be the next brother to get his own story and can’t wait to see what is going to happen to the glorious womanizer.

Joanna has hit it out of the park with this book! It is sassy, sexy and sweet! Not only are Whiskey and Becky's character amazing, their courtship and chemistry are fabulous, but we also get to read about all the amazing couples from the first three books! Their brotherhood, sisterhood and their love for one another is so endearing to read about! I had many emotions as the story went on but I have to say the best part was that I laughed so many times. The whole book made me feel amazing as laughing just is fabulous on the body and soul! I loved it, I am invested and I can't wait for the next book because as I said her characters are awesome and I am truly ready for Callaways story now. You will be too!!

I love the Devil's Riders! I have been a fan from the beginning. Dance with the Devil is Becky and Whiskey's story, one I have been anxiously waiting for. Whiskey has had his eye on Becky for quite a while. But as a prospect, he didn't have much to offer her. When Kaylie and Devlin's wedding arrives, he is determined to make his move. He asks Becky to dance... Before they know it, they are in deep. When a misunderstanding drives Becky away, Whiskey doesn't know why. She just up and left and he doesn't know where. He is devastated. A year goes by and Becky comes back to town. Now that she is back, he is going to get his girl and never let her go. This is a sweet read. Whiskey is an absolute doll. Becky is young and immature but it is totally in character. I loved that this tale was strictly just their romance. Previous books have had a thread of danger, almost into the realm of romantic suspense, which I love. That is what I love about Joanna Blake, she keeps the reader on their toes. She keeps the focus on her main characters. She gets into their heads and makes you love them, flaws and all. You want to see them get their happy ever after. Can't wait for the next book!

Three stars for quality. Two stars for content.

I gave this book three stars because the quality is technically decent, but I wasn't taken with this whole "Biker lite" story. I should have probably been more informed before I started reading because nothing really interesting happened. I finished the main story for the sake of finishing. All I took away from it was a contrived "big misunderstanding" and a quick make up where all was forgiven. No angst. No real character development. For that matter, it was hard to detect any distinct voice for any character included. They all spoke and acted just alike. In the end, despite a few sex scenes, it was just way too basic and PG for my taste.

Joanna Blake is a new to me author, but I do like MC books and when I saw the cover I had to have a look inside, I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed her style of writing and will be looking for more of her books in the future.

Whiskey was a part of the Son's of Satan motorbike Club, he was a biker but also a gentleman with a strong sense of right and wrong. He vowed that when he finally got a chance with Becky he would love and cherish her forever, she was it for him but she just didn't know it yet.
He had loved her for long time, he had been waiting until the time was right to make his move. The night her took that chance was the best night of his life, the bests just kept getting better and for the next two weeks they were inseparable they shared long days and nights, hardly getting out of bed.
A misunderstanding tore their world apart, could the wound that had caused the split be repaired? Becky would have to tell Whiskey about her secret, would they be able to get back on track.

This is book 4 in the Devil's Riders Series. I have not read previous books in this series. This is Whiskey & Becky's story and although this could be a stand alone there were several random chapters thrown in from other previous character points of view. This gave character updates for those who have read previous books, but to me, it just took away from Whiskey and Becky's story.

I liked the story line, but there were a few unbelievable parts and the random added chapters threw me off. There is no Motorcycle club drama at all. The only reason we even know he is in an MC is because he paraded them all in to see his "prize" and he drank himself into a stupor several times.

It wasn't a bad story, but it wasn't great either.

Misunderstandings should be dealt with swiftly.

Whiskey waited a long time, until he made the cut, before he approached Becky. Becky, after about two weeks of bliss with Whiskey, left town. Shortly before a year of being gone she came back to help Mae, the owner of the diner, who was like a mother to her, to save the diner. She had no waitresses and she couldn’t waitress all alone. She comes home with a big surprise. The diner would end up closing. This story is intense, with always the fear that Becky would leave again. Their journey through it all is well worth it. So many emotions all around, even with the Devils Riders’ characters. They even plan a surprise for Whiskey and Becky, more like a devious surprise. This story was enthralling.

Dance with the Devil, the fourth book in the Devil's Riders series, delivers exactly what you'd expect from a fun and entertaining biker romance. This installment follows Whiskey, a rugged biker, and Becky, the niece of a local diner owner, whose life takes an unexpected turn after witnessing something she shouldn't have. When she returns a year later—with a baby—her past and present, collide in a way that keeps the story engaging.

While this isn’t deep or complex writing, the story itself is enjoyable, offering drama, romance, and just the right amount of tension. Some grammar issues pop up, but nothing that hinders the readability or takes away from the overall enjoyment. If you're looking for an easy, entertaining read with a bad-boy biker and a strong heroine, this one’s worth picking up.

I really enjoyed this book it a story about Becky and Whiskey .Becky worked at her aunts diner and Whiskey was with the Devils Riders he had his eye on her along time and finally meets at a brothers wedding they were together for about a month when Becky ups and leaves giving him no note or a reason why. Whiskey is brokenhearted about what she did when she returns home with a secret she finds out that what she thought about Whiskey might not have been true so you'll have to read the story to find out what happens and if they get their HEA the one thing I wasn't so happy with was the story is short through the second one was good too.

Predictable and bit disappointing

Dance with devil is about this biker who’s been pining away for a waitress from the local diner. The moment they hook up it’s fine until there’s a bump in the road and she leaves him. And then comes back with his baby. Now I understand there a story that created and it had potential but did quite meet its max. He was way too much a cry baby, bossy, and easily slay. The chick she needed to make up her mind because she either wanted to hump him or be mad at him. Now I would have gave this book 1 star but the additional book Slay Me caught my interest more and needless to say had me finishing the book in one sitting.

Whiskey and Becky had one of those wham bam and it's over too fast kind of flings. He was her first and only and she walked away from him because of a huge misunderstanding. Becky had a big secret when she left town and although it seemed like she would never trust Whiskey again, second chances are always a good thing.
Joanna Blake always writes sweet heroines with rough and alpha males but ultimately in the end, they each help each other reach the middle ground. It was an enjoyable and on the lighter side type of MC book. I like all of her couples.
